Our Hanwoo dinner experience was so good! There was plenty of food, lots of variety, and a definite food coma afterward. Our server was attentive, on point, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The atmosphere was popping for a late Sunday night, but we still got seated quickly and received great service. If you love flavorful Korean food and a fun dining experience, Hanwoo is definitely worth a visit! #KoreanFood #KoreanBBQ #KFood #FoodieFinds #KoreanCuisine read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Hanwoo. Our waiter was nice, although he didn't seem to know a lot. Also, being a pescatarian, there weren't a lot of options for me, so I tried everything that was available to me. And they didn't have much of a dessert selection. My friends said the bulgogi steak and the lamb were great, but everything could use a bit more seasoning. I will go back for the experience read more

If you're ever in Port Orange and looking for an incredible, authentic Korean barbecue experience, I highly recommend Hanwoo. I was blown away by how good the food was. While I didn't do the all-you-can-eat option, I ordered the Chef's Special Prime Hanger Steak, and it was unbelievably tender--so tender it practically melted in my mouth. It came with three flavorful dipping sauces that complemented the meat perfectly. The meal also included a variety of fresh and authentic banchan (Korean side dishes). As a Korean, I can appreciate good banchan, especially since both my mom and sister are amazing cooks. Hanwoo definitely delivered on authenticity and quality. I was fortunate enough to try both of their soups--a rich beef broth soup and a flavorful kimchi soup. Both were outstanding and packed with traditional Korean flavor. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, and I even got to speak a little Korean with him, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and feels brand new. It truly captures the warmth and tradition of Korean dining. I highly, highly recommend Hanwoo. In fact, I already need to call my parents because we're definitely coming here for Korean barbecue. If you're anywhere near Port Orange, do yourself a favor and give this place a try--you won't believe how good it is. read more

We've been meaning to come here for a long time. On Sunday, we finally went. Everyone we encountered was kind and friendly! The vibe in there is really cool and the ordering simple, with our waiter, Lee, checking on us often. Loved the food from appetizers all the way through. To be honest, we had no idea what to expect. Since it was our first time, we went with the early bird menu. The dumplings and kimbap were good and the fried wings were outstanding! Loved the beef bulgogi and spicy chicken the most, but it was all very good. Looking forward to returning. read more

Well, three of us are here last night. We didn't find any thing special eating here. There was inconsistency in the tenderness of the meat between courses, the ramen noodles tasted like packaged soup noodles, the short rib was tough. Our server was nice and helpful. The ambiance was also very nice. It most other Korean restaurants we have eaten at they do the cooking for you at the table. Here they do not. You cook your own food. This wasn't my cup of tea. read more

Cool experience with the personal mini grills lots of protein options. very friendly staff. Would definitely go back .

What an amazing experience! This was our first time trying Korean BBQ, and we couldn't have asked for better service. Our server, Lee, was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to explain everything and gave us some great recommendations, which made our first Korean BBQ experience even more enjoyable. The bartender, Jamie, was also so sweet and kind. We accidentally walked in through the wrong door, and she actually left her post just to personally guide us and make sure we were seated. That level of kindness and hospitality really stood out. And of course, the food was absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious, and the combination of great food and exceptional service made this a memorable experience. If you're in Daytona Beach, this is a must-stop! We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend! read more

Amazing food and great service! Owners are truly wonderful people. Priced very well not to mention they give more than enough food.

Hanwoo Korean BBQ--The "Hidden Workout" Dinner **Strechy pants, may be required** Rating: 5-Star If you want to feel like a Michelin-star chef and a competitive eater at the same time, get yourself to Hanwoo in Port Orange. I went with my BFF and her boyfriend after hearing all the hype, and let's just say, the hype is real (and very filling). The Vibe: Steakhouse Chic meets DIY: Oddly enough, the decor gives off major upscale steakhouse vibes. It's sleek, dark, and actually quite romantic or great for a quiet "getaway" dinner. It's definitely not your average "greasy grill" joint--the atmosphere is gorgeous and classy. Disclaimer: Even tho I was the 3rd wheel. lol The "No Doggy Bag" Challenge: Our waitress was super nice, but she didn't waste a second before dropping the hammer: "No to-go bags allowed." Basically, she was telling us, "Eat it all or leave it behind." Naturally, we took that as a personal challenge--accepted! The Food: Why it Beats a Traditional Steakhouse We went with the Classic Dinner, and the quality was top-tier. The Favorites: The Bulgogi and Hanger Steak were flavored to perfection. The Short Ribs were a total dream, and the Gyoza and Fried Shrimp were the perfect crispy distraction while we waited for the grill to heat up. The Value: Think about it--at a fancy steakhouse, you'd pay $50+ for one steak and maybe a side. Here, for a similar price, you get an unlimited parade of high-quality meats, seafood, and appetizers. Plus, I'd much rather pay for a nice sit-down meal--even if I have to cook it myself (pun intended! lol)--than waste money on "yucky" fast food. The Aftermath: I walked in hungry and left "overfilled." I'm not kidding when I say I literally couldn't get up from the booth. I had to sit there and contemplate my life choices for a few minutes before my legs would work. It's the kind of fun, delicious experience you do once a month or every other month to keep it special. (if that) Pro-Tips for Hanwoo Newbies: The "Same Page" Rule: Remember, the whole table has to pick the same menu (Classic or Signature). Choose your "meat-mates" wisely! Pace Yourself: It's all-you-can-eat, but the "no to-go" rule is real. Don't order 10 plates at once or you'll be staring at a pile of steak you're too full to eat. (Please be concious, don't waste food, TY). The "Forklift" Exit: Wear stretchy pants. This is not the place for tight belts or restrictive clothing. You will expand. For real tho, lol Master the Scissors: Use the provided tongs and scissors to cut the meat into bite-sized pieces while it's on the grill--it cooks faster and makes it easier to share! read more

Our 2nd visit in the last 12 months. 1st visit was ok, 2nd visit knocked it out of the park. Great ratings and reviews, and hungry for some good Korean food, provoked us to come back. Our server, Sophia, was exemplary in service, knowledge and customer service. We didn't catch the managers name but, she stopped by the tables numerous times on our visit. The runners, the servers, the food were all on point. Much to our surprise, one of the All You Can Eat specials on the weekend is only $27 per person and there is plenty of food for that price point. Sophia and company have made Hanwoo our new favorite Korean restaurant & BBQ in Volusia County. read more

This place is a fantastic experience. The food quality (and quantity) here is on a level I've not had in a long time with restaurants including expensive ones. The pricing was $40/person for unlimited food. For appetizers we got gyoza, tuna takaki, and fried lemon salmon, all of which were good but I personally loved the fried salmon! For the meats, we tried several, I'll list them in order of favorites: 1. Beef Bulgolgi, this one was absolutely by far the best for flavor and tenderness, definitely get this one! 2. The hanger steak, it had a nice flavor and tenderness and felt and tasted like nice quality meat. 3. Garlic butter shrimp 4. Lamb, we personally love lamb and again the quality was very noticeable and thus the flavor was delicious, but it's still lamb so if you don't like game meat, skip it. 5. Tuna 6. NY strip 7. Pork belly. The ramen noodles are absolutely amazing. They're so good they need their own commentary on them. We could have eaten a huge vat of them if our bellies allowed. Highly recommend! Also at the end of the meal they provide complimentary ice cream pops, very reminiscent of mochi but obviously different. The staff are so hospitable and attentive and they clearly have good team work. Everyone was hustling but any server that passed would bus our extra dishes, adjust the flame temp, pick up a toy my toddler dropped, etc. Our server Lee was so kind and genuine. He was attentive without being overbearing. Even though it was a nicer restaurant and our toddler was toddler-ing, the staff was so kind and didn't make us feel unwelcome. The attention to detail in service, decor, and food flavor/quality were all so high quality that it made me nostalgic for how restaurants *used* to be many years ago.... But this one doesn't judge themselves against the lower quality of others. I can't recommend enough and I would absolutely go here again! read more

I loved this placed so much I've come twice in the last week! Great selection of food and even appetizers. I loved loved the jumbo shrimp and chicken wings. The service was a hit or miss. First time we went out burned kept turning off. The second time the server she was so nice and kept bringing us refills. The meat was so buttery and soft it melted in your mouth. Will definitely be back soon again! read more

This place deserves the five stars right off the bat. The service we received was superb as my family and I were looking for a place to eat quality food for a special occasion. The architecture lends itself to interesting and unique decorative stylings, which coupled with quality food and outstanding service makes this a definite repeat spot. In terms of the menu, I can tell you that getting everyone on the same page is going to be easier than you think : if you come hungry with a formidable appetite, you will not be let down at the amount of delicious and quality cuts of protein and vegetables that are offered. This place distinguishes itself from others in that there is no fee for unconsumed foods . By no means, be wasteful, but rest assured you will not be chastised, which is a last thing anyone wants during a meal. The hands-on aspect was a lot of fun and gliding a touch of butter on the grill helps avoid sticking . The restaurant was lively enough to feel populated, but also quiet enough where in interpersonal conversations could still be heard at our table and understood with ease. In line with the restaurant theme itself, the music playing overhead was well suited for K-pop aficionados in the group. read more

Pretty good AYCE KBBQ. Two menus to choose from - the classic is the right choice. The premium has sea bass and filet which aren't really good on the grill IMO. The appetizers are pretty good; would recommend the fried shrimp, tuna carpaccio, and gyoza. Pass on the kimbap. For meat, the kalbi, beef bulgogi, and hanger steak are good. Garlic shrimp is pretty good too. read more

Everything about this restaurant was genuinely fantastic. The restaurant itself was very clean, very decorative and well-kept. Our food didn't take long to show to our table at all, and all of the meat was very fresh and absolutely delicious. The beef bulgogi was my favorite by far. It was fantastic and juicy, the scallops were so fresh tasting and satisfying, along with everything else. It was a great time for all of us getting to cook our own food on the grill. Our waiter, Brian, just made the experience all the better. When he first greeted us, after learning I was new he took the time to explain their items and how things work and he was clear and kind. He was on top of everything from drinks, new food orders, and even changed the grill out for us twice. He was absolutely a model server. I could not recommend this place enough. read more

Excellent Korean BBQ! We went on a weeknight for dinner and it was not busy at all, we were able to be seated right away. It's not a cheap meal but they have a large selection of unlimited meats, appetizers, and sides. I appreciated the high quality meats offered, and they were already marinated and very flavorful. Five-Star Experience for Gluten-Free Foodies and Korean BBQ Lovers Alike! From the moment we walked into Hanwoo in Port Orange, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for what turned out to be an incredible dining experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy--something I deeply appreciate as someone who often struggles to find safe and enjoyable options when dining out. While I am not celiac, I am gluten intolerant, and Hanwoo made it so easy to enjoy a worry-free meal. They even offer gluten-free soy sauce and yum yum (white) sauce, which was a huge bonus. Best of all, the meats that weren't marinated were gluten-free--and let me tell you, they were phenomenal. The freshness and quality of the meat really stood out, even without any marinade. We tried the ribeye, hanger steak, and garlic butter jumbo shrimp (which were deveined, contrary to a previous review), and each was better than the last. The grill cooked everything super quickly, but the pace of cooking gave us the opportunity to relax and connect--it made our date night feel even more special. The unlimited apps and meats were an awesome bonus, and the fact that there were so many gluten-free options made it easy for me to enjoy everything stress-free. Our server was kind, checked in frequently, and made sure our grill stayed clean and fresh every few rounds. Our server even gave us this cool Korean dessert to end our night! (A melon ice cream pop) As someone with a gluten allergy, I often feel like an inconvenience when dining out. But Hanwoo made me feel welcomed! If you're gluten-free, this is absolutely a spot worth trying. If you're celiac, I recommend giving them a call ahead of time, but based on my experience, I believe they'll do their best to accommodate. 10/10 would recommend--fresh food, fantastic service, and a memorable, interactive dining experience. We'll definitely be back! read more

Great service from the start! My family of 10 came in on a Tuesday night and accommodated our party size immediately. Our server Sammy was great as soon as we got seated with asking and getting us anything we needed or for a "just in case" situation, she was so friendly and funny as well! The manager Jaime came over to let us know we can always ask for anything if needed or any complaints or concerns. She gave us soju on the house and a soju as a gift! The little snacks and appetizers were delicious and you are able to ask them to cook a certain meat for you in the back if you are worried about doing it yourself. Hanwoo - Soup appetizer (side of rice) various cooking meats :) - Barbeque Near Me - Port Orange, Florida

Port Orange finally has a KBBQ at Hanwoo in the old Mellow Mushroom on Taylor Road. They're still in a bit of a soft opening phase but let me tell you that did not reflect in the service which was spot on. The only tell is that they were out of some items - corn dog, chicken wings, marinated roast beef, bean sprouts. Hopefully they'll work out sourcing issues soon. I eat a lot of KBBQ down in Orlando and this is a great entry level place if you've never tried it before. The seasoning is toned down so nothings overly spicy or strongly flavored. There are plenty of "recognizable" meat options and things like butter garlic shrimp and chicken teriyaki for less adventurous eaters. I guess my point is it's good, but it's safe good. I'll give them huge props for absolutely tender and flavorful lamb and gator - two meats I've never seen at a KBBQ before. But the kimchi and gochujang were mild. Chopsticks and dipping sauces are upon request. While the banchan are unlimited they come in tiny single-serve dishes which says to me they're afraid of waste because people might not like them (the table behind us was adamantly against even trying kimchi). The place underwent an amazing transformation and it's clean, modern, and trendy/romantic without feeling pretentious or stuffy. Despite a hot grill at your table the temperature was very comfortable. Also gotta love a front desk that's a giant bull sculpture. I do hope they'll embrace the K of KBBQ a bit more as time goes on but I'll definitely be back because it was all quality ingredients and great staff. Also I absolutely adore the cow serving boards! read more

Hanwoo Korean Barbeque, Port Orange, Florida -A few blocks from my sister-in-law's home sits Hanwoo Korean Barbeque, the spot we chose for a special 65th-birthday celebration. We might have walked there if it weren't for my Navy-veteran legs and the early darkness of our first evening back on Eastern Standard Time. So, we loaded up the van and soon arrived, hungry and curious. -Inside, Hanwoo felt warm and inviting. The high-ceilinged booths were roomy and comfortable--always a welcome feature for our large, happy crew. It was my first time there; everyone else was returning for a second round, and I could see why. The menu offered three tiers--basic, middle, and premium--plus tempting add-ons. We settled on the middle level with extras, and it turned out to be just right. Our waitress radiated friendliness, keeping a watchful eye on our table and somehow always arriving before we realized we needed her. We joked that she ought to sit down and rest a moment between trips. The built-in stainless grill at the center of the table soon became the evening's stage. Platters of marinated meats, vegetables, and sauces kept arriving, each more enticing than the last. Every few minutes the plates refilled, the aromas grew richer, and we felt completely pampered. When one of us ordered a Tsing Tao beer and learned they were out, a bartender actually went across the shopping plaza to fetch a few bottles from their sister restaurant. Now that's above-and-beyond hospitality. Then came dessert: a tiny trio of mango-orange velvet cake squares, candles flickering, and "Happy Birthday" sung in Korean. Each of us received a Dixie cup of vanilla or strawberry ice cream to close the evening sweetly. -It's not every day you get to celebrate turning 65--but doing it Korean-style made it memorable. -Hanwoo offered great food, better company, and service that went the extra mile. -Thank you. read more

Soup, noodles, rice, and veggies. Like I said, there was a lot of food. The restaurant was really nice. A nice atmosphere. One of the managers checked in on us multiple times. We had dinner here last night, 4 adults and 2 15 month olds. We got: Apps: Gyoza - very good Kimbap - 3 pieces per order, we got 5 of the chicken. We liked! Corn dog - Actually fish dog, grandson loved, ate almost the whole thing Chicken wings - classic fried chicken Mains: Hangar steak - took mine off the grill mid rare and it was still nice and tender Calamari steak - tender and juicy, nice flavor 2 Bulgogi - the classic, done well 2 Galbi - no extra charge! Flavorful. Both pork and beef. Shrimp - large, plump, not marinated so use sauces Mushrooms and asparagus - These were fresh but unseasoned. I suggest marinating them in the shoyu or other sauce before grilling. Rice - as you'd expect it was perfect and very hot Banchan - nice assortment, we should have requested bean sprout one too. The cabbage one was a nice surprise. Ramen - in a home done foil packet, cooked with butter, warm up on the grill. Also a kid favorite. Beer- $5.50 domestic bottle, no draft available. The total was $165 before tip. It's really good and we will be back. As compared to New York Korean BBQ, it is more value for less $$. The NY quality is a bit better but portions are limited. NY has draft beer. I think it's a matter of taste which you'll prefer. NY also has the BBQ delivery robot, so it has a fun factor there too. read more

After several recommendations to come here we finally tried Hanwoo. Our party of 4 all ordered the classic meals. The food had very good taste to it. We didn't like the small area of heat where you cook the meats. When you have 4 people trying to cook it's too small. We also don't like that we had to cook our own food. We ordered the hang steak very good. The pork belly very good. The spicy chicken not spicy. Calamari was well liked. Everything else was just okay. The rice and noodles were good but brought out in small bowls. Nothing was spicy here and we prefer spicy. All but one liked the dessert green ice cream. The Korean beer was good. So you have an idea a party of 4 will run you in the $200 price range plus tips. The waiter was fantastic and very helpful! The staff were very nice. The place still looks brand new. This place is amazing to dine in with your family and friends! I love how spacious and yet intimate the setting of the environment feels. And you get to cook your own food! If that idea seems daunting, they can also cook it for you before serving it. The seats were comfortable and it doesn't feel like you have to fight for elbow space. The food was delicious and the sauce cooked with it was just right. We had our dishes cooked for us, so they had seasoned to perfection. The onions on top added a nice umami flavor. It wouldn't be a Korean bbq experience without the side dishes. And there was a good amount of choices. Unfortunately they do not have desserts on the menu, but they have Yakult (a probiotic drink).
