    Sichuan hot pot
    Edward J.

A decent hot pot. Better then most Asian places in Daytona Beach. I had a Sichuan hot pot and some add on items. They didn't add any of those Sichuan peppercorns and I missed them. The pot shows up already to eat and the add on dishes show up precooked on the side and you add them to the pot. They say it's a Taiwanese place, but they have some Japanese, Korean, and mainland China choices. So its a mixed choice.

If you love delicious Asian cuisine -- hotpot's to be exact, then you may have heard of Hi-Pot opening in the local DB area! If not not, I'm here to tell you all about it of course. Hi-Pot is authentic, flavorful, and the cutest little new eatery. It's located in a plaza with other small local eatery's, and it fits right in. The restaurant is simple but inviting and full of wonderful lo-fi tunes to listen along to while you eat. I got the Korean Kimchi Hot Pot: very spicy level, with steamed rice and edamame as an appetizer. When I tell you the food was delicious.. I mean it! The very spicy also wasn't too too spicy in my opinion, so I loved it as I don't like overwhelming spices. Most popular hotpot restaurants are all-you -can-eat with their own regulations, but Hi-Pot provides a menu for you to chose your meal and/or customize it to your desires. In my opinion, I ate more of my meal than at an all-you-can-eat hotpot. I also saved money by not picking items up and forgetting to use them, which then leads to being charged for food that doesn't get ate as well. Again, if you're into hot pot you should 100% check out Hi-Pot!

The dumplings weren't the best... too crispy and bland . The ramen was better than expected . Broth was good. There wasn't much to the ingredients i could've done some add in's but they were pricy it seemed. I would love to see some more veggies as options like crispy brussel sprouts or broccoli... they substituted Udon noodles because they were out of regular ramen. I'm sure that was for the best. The server was extremely sweet and helpful . The floor was very sticky . I will probably give them a second try.

Skimpy on meat. I went here twice on my work week. The first time I came, it was also skimpy but I thought it was a one off. The second time was even worse! There's definitely more of the veggies and broth. At a $20-25 price point ( there were other options that were $17.99. It's a bit high for what you get. Being from California, you definitely get more and the price is a bit less I posted a picture of all the meat that was in my pot. It was about two strips of meat. Made me kinda sad. I got the spicy cumin lamb- it came out very warm and a bit dry. It's not my favorite place but there isn't as many options around there so it'll have to do. 2 starts for the service. I forgot her name but she was Caucasian with short hair- shout out to her as she definitely was tentative and checked up on me. Other server I had to flag down quite a bit or wait for her to come out from the back.

Hi Pot Ramen in Daytona stands out as a must-visit destination for ramen aficionados, offering an unparalleled combination of authentic flavors, varied menu options, fresh ingredients, inviting atmosphere, and excellent service.

They've only been open a couple of days so it was pretty busy. I'd never had a hot pot before and tried one that was definitely out of my comfort zone! It was pretty good although the milk sloshed everywhere the second I tried to do anything with it. That may be user error, I will definitely admit! I had their peach green iced tea as well which was very good. We got takoyaki as an appetizer and it wasn't very warm, but still tasted good. My husband got the tonkatsu ramen as well. I would recommend trying this place if you've never had these dishes. They give large portions. The decor is mostly plain, but again- they have just opened so it may not be completely decorated yet.

So I was hesitant to try a new restaurant that just opened due to lack of reviews. When you first walk in, you'll notice the interior is plain and simple. Everything so far looked clean and organized. They sat us down immediately and took our orders. Our host catered to us throughout our dining experience and always check in with us. I can not speak for the food though. I ordered a spicy kimchi ramen, takoyaki and salt and pepper popcorn chicken. The ramen noodle texture was weird. It was not smooth and felt like it need to be washed before putting in the broth. The broth itself was savory and had enough spice to wake your taste buds. It might have been the starch that made it sticky (if that makes sense). The takoyaki balls definitely needed more sauce, but it's an easy remedy if you ask for more of it. Just be warned that it contains bits of an octopus because that's what it is. The menu doesn't have a brief description of it. The salt and pepper popcorn chicken was decent. It was very crispy and I believe some of it didn't actually have chicken but just flour and seasoning. Over all it was an ok experience and I do hope it will get better!

Service was wonderful. The soup was good. It needed a tad more flavor. We came in a rainy day and it warmed us up. The gyoza were very good, nice and crunchy and they give you a few.

My first time dining in at Hi Pot. The restaurant is clean, the service is great and the food is fresh and nice. The price is also reasonable comparing to the size of the hot pot. One thing i would like to recommend the restaurant is to add a sauce station where we can mix sauce or may be provide some hot pot sauce to make our hot pot more outstanding like other hot pot styles restaurants. That way people will enjoy more and can come back more often. Beside that this restaurant add another fun to the area. I will be returning.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall - clean, neat with a few tables and booths (but you can also reserve for large groups). This place was on the list to try and I'm so glad we did! First, Alice, who is one of the owners, waited on us and could not have been more friendly or personable - she is a joy! The restaurant serves a number of different Asian cuisines - in addition to Chinese there are Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese offerings as well. We started with pan-fried gyoza which were SO good - fresh and flavorful. Hubs loves kimchi so had to try theirs - he inhaled the bowl and declared it amazing (I'm not a fan but it did smell yummy and garlicky!!). He enjoyed it so much he got an order to go as well. I tried my go-to Chinese favorite Kung Pao Chicken - it was quite good, well spiced, full of fresh veggies and lots of peanuts. Next time I'll probably get it with shrimp or tofu. Hubs had Pad Kee Mao with chicken (Thai hot!) and loved it. Although we were too full, the almond pudding on the menu did sound good - maybe next time!
