I paid more than 50 % down to have a sliding door put in. There was some rot around the door. They told me they could take care of it. After 5 months they told me they didn't have anyone qualified to install and fix the rot around the door. They did not install the door and will not refund my deposit Buyer Beware. Worse company ever did my siding guaranteed for life no questions asked I'd damaged will replace. Discontinued my color wants put different color on damaged piece. When I signed for it I was told if they discontinued color they replace all of it! Yeah right they refused make it right! Yeah hetd we are 3 years later no resolution at a. Worst company ever. Don't hire them for any work on your house unless you like crappy results and broken porch railings not to mention thieving contactors they hire. Hired them to replace my roof, facia boards and metal covering. Install crew had no idea of the complete job to be done. Roof was done without the facia boards being done first then without the job being completed I was getting several calls demanding payment.they were supposed to return to do the facia boards and covering which they didn't until I personally went into the holt office complaining, job got scheduled then they never showed up. 3 days of messages saying they were coming to finish the facia boards and covering and never showed up till the last day. I returned home to find the job done but done poorly leaving exposed wood crappy patches and damage to railings and eve troffs. Then I investigate further to find out the faciaboards weren't even replaced, they installed new facia covering but left the old rotted facia boards and tried to cover it up and stole the facia boards I had sitting in my driveway. Contacted the manager Scott Lamacchia about the poor work done and facia boards not being replaced at the holt Michigan location, he said he would come out and look and take pictures. A week now and no show or calls from him. I called corporate to talk with a manager and the operator said she was in a meeting and would call me back. Well surprise surprise no call back from her either and it's been a week. Bottom line is they hire sub contractors that employee crack heads that aren't competent to do the job correctly and damage things and steal from you but demand payment for a job done crappy and not complete. I'm currently getting other estimates to fix the issues that couldn't be done right from Hanson's but in my opinion and talking with other reputable companies for the job to be done right the roof needs to be tore off to do the facia boards and metal covering correctly before the shingles ECT are installed.. to anyone out there looking for work to be done on your house stay far away from this incompetent thieving company. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches for anyone reading this from Hanson's anyone from your company or crack head stealing contractors come onto my property without myself being here you are trespassing and will get the police called on you from my neighbors and dealt with. read more

DO NOT, AND I MEAN, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HANSONS!! Save yourself a headache! Lengthy read, but hoping to save others from this experience!! After our home had suffered tree damage from the storms this summer, we reached out to have our roof accessed. We found broken trusses in the roof from initial tree impact, gutter and shingle damage and mold in the attic space. Initial meeting with sales rep seemed great, he talked up the benefits of going with a company like theirs, the quality they provide and his biggest point being the importance of 'hiring a reputable company vs any "Joe schmo" off the street because of the extensive repairs we needed'. Sounded great, right? So, as first time home owners and first time making insurance claims, we agreed and signed a contract. Even taking on a financial burden with a loan to cover the remaining balance to ensure the longevity of our roof. Fast forward to pre install, we are told multiple times that we don't even need to be home at the time of install. Thankfully I was home the morning of the install, because it was a joke! A small 3rd party subcontacted crew of 5 arrive without a project manager from hansons, and with the crew leader only speaking broken English. But we greeted them and we let them get to work. After they removed the shingles, I realized they were laying shingles without even repairing our damaged trusses or installing the new plywood we had to replace moldy boards. After making the crew leader aware of the needed repairs, he stated they weren't told about damage nor was it mentioned in the work order. They then had to remove the plastic prep sheeting to cut into our roof. Their "repairs" were beyond sub par to put nicely. Even though we had new boards avaliable to sister our trusses, the crew decided to use old wet boards they had laying around in their truck bed. Not to mention the completely molded roof boards they left and shingled over, damage they did to our siding, endless trim damage, ripped window screens, and even being so kind as to take our remaining plywood boards, shingles, and materials on their way out. After having a follow up with hansons reps and voicing our concerns, our experience, and noting the lack of repairs and new damages, we are met with unapologetic reactions, excuses, and so far no willingness to make this right. On top of that, as we tried to make progress with raising concerns, we were told by the technician assigned to us, to "loose my number" After being told that our issues will be fixed, it's now been 5 weeks of radio silence and no returned calls or texts from the general manager, Scott. Even after reaching out and texting him, making him aware of the water we now have coming into our basement foundation because they have not yet installed gutters. We are truly shocked by their unprofessionalism. I wish we would have known more about their "reputation" before we signed with them! A quick search shows that we aren't the only ones facing issues with hansons and being met with silence from the company and left with a headache! read more

They lied to us about not using subcontractors. He said they only use Hansons paid employees. He lied to us about the quality of the windows as well as the framing of the windows. What we were shown and ordered was not what they installed. Our sales rep never calls us back. He forced us to write a review before he left our house, only to find out we couldn't go back and change it after we found out they were liers. We had large gaps in our window frame because they didn't measure properly. They lied to us about trim, quality, and instulation. He sold us 10k worth of windows that look like cheap trailer windows. Ever since we've got the windows and doorwalls, we have had nothing but problems. I've actually watched the bugs on the outside of the house crawl up over and between and come inside the house, They have been out here so many times it's unbelievable and it's unbelievable and nothing has been done. The regular routine is you call and they send somebody out 4 to 6 weeks later if you're lucky they come out they don't do anything they just look at the problem, Then they have somebody supposedly call you back if you're lucky, I always had to call him back then they rescheduled somebody else to come out 4 to 6 weeks later, And still do nothing it's just a total repeat for the last 10 years, I would go with anybody besides Hansen's I had wall side in my old house and I loved them. He started by not introducing himself, which is extremely rude. He did not identify where he was from or wear any clothing that indicated his company. Upon beginning the 'sales pitch' portion of the program, he rambled on about his opinion on the COVID-19 pandemic, mask wearing, virus transmission etc. he then went on to brag about how Hanson's isn't even bothered with the pandemic, it doesn't effect them at all and it's basically no big deal. He went out of his way to let me know there are poor Yelp reviews on the company and assured me they were from customers who basically just wanted something for free. He then confusingly tried to compare the cost and quality of the windows he was selling to big box store options. About 15 minutes in I stopped him. I let him know price was my main concern and would be how I was deciding on what company to use for this project. I let him know that the best way to do business with me is to get to the numbers and that I would like him to move on to the estimate. He said he had a whole presentation he had to do. I then asked him if I was not going to get an estimate if I didn't listen to the his whole spiel. He snapped at me "If you want cheap windows I cannot do business with you!" I had to cut him off and sternly remind him he was in My home and I was not going to tolerate being spoke to like that. I told him he needed to change his tone or leave. He halfass apologized and carried on completely disregarding what I said. He provided a quote for the windows HE though I should buy not different options for me to consider. There was also no offer to email me the quote, or record of the details to look at later. This salesman was insulting and rude to me in my home. I sat uncomfortable and annoyed waiting for the moment he would stop talking and leave. This was a horrible experience. Had a rep. come out to quote a new roof. Never even got on the roof just smoked by his car. When he came back into give us the quote he became extremely angry and yelled at us about what we knew about roofing he was the expert and knew it all. He continued to yell at us and said your rood costs this and it will be this a month...seriously dude you want me to sign a contract when you just stood in my house and called me stupid, we would of been returning customers. He had to be asked to leave the home. Now I have been trying to get hold of Hansons for a week, they keep texting me wanting to talk about the quote, how about we discuss the behavior of the hot pistol you sent over! read more

Definitely an improvement compared to the previous windows. Our salesperson Justin Pierce thoroughly explained about the triple pane windows and compared them to single and double pane glass. Our installation took about 4 hours and the installers made sure the site was cleaned up before they left. read more

Give 1 star because zero is not an option. Everything was totally unprofessional. Scheduling installation was a disaster. When I called to schedule, as I was instructed to, Jessica told me that I would be notified when an installer was available--she would not tell me where on the queue I was. I called back and was told, rather rudely, that I would be told when they could get to me. When installers finally were scheduled and arrived, they showed up without the necessary materials. They seemed real confused on what to do. We asked if they had their work order to guide them, but they would not answer that question. They were told to be careful of our new hardwood floors. So, what did they do? They worked without a drop cloth. How did they install the windows? The contract required that the windows be placed 48 inches off the floor. They installed them at an unexplainable 39 1/8 inches. They look silly. When I confronted Manny on the lack of a drop cloth he told me that there had one down the whole time. I told him tht I know what I saw and was not going to argue about it. I was not going to be called a liar. I had a picture to show it. The lead installer, Manny, gave us a form to sign stating that we the "lenders" would pay the balance due. We did not borrow money from them--this is the wrong form. A few days later I got a call from Hansons to get the balance due. I told the person how totally wrong and unprofessional the installation. I asked her to call me on Monday to discuss the problems and payment. She did not call on Monday. I called the salesperson who was ever so sorry, but said he could do nothing, that I had to work this out with the project manager, who it turned out was the person I had spoken to. I left her a message on Tuesday, since she did not call on Monday. By the end of the day, as I am writing his, she has not returned my call. Total lack of professionalism, poor quality of work, lack of respect for customers. I don't know what else to say, except this the worst experience I have ever had in my 50 years of dealing with contractors. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. There is no warranty with their roof. They would not give us a written warranty or a receipt after the job as complete. Company boosts of a rubberized shingle. They are just a 15 year shingle made of asphalt. We were lied to throughout the entire process. 12 delays. I called today to ask for an estimate on a siding project. I was told they would not schedule the estimate unless my "husband" was home. I informed them he was not my husband and I was the sole owner of the house. They said they would come out and look at it but would not give us an estimate until he was home as well. What is this 1920? When I posted about it on Facebook I had numerous friends who had the same thing happen including a single woman who was asked if her boyfriend could come for the estimate. Forget it, I'll take my money to a company that actually understands that women can be decision makers and understand estimates. read more

I got an roof replacement estimate from a sale guy. He was very knowledgeable and attentive on details but very very pushy. At the end when I told him I need more time to get more bids to compare, he pretty much stormed out of my house. I was very offended by it. Who makes a decision on spending 10-17K after just one estimate? He is like "must be today today, now now". Geez... I won't release his name here, but his last five minute ruined all his efforts and time. He turned to a completly different person once he realized he won't get the contract today. Sad. FYI, Hanson doesn't install asphalt shingles any more. Only rubber-based. You know what it means...Expensive...$5,000-6,000 more expensive than other roofers in my case. My impression is that Hansen is a very marketing-driven company. Not sure how they control work-quality. The sales guy said they do due diligence on sub-contractors, but I was not sold. If I were to be duped, I want to use the cheapest bidder. read more

Let me just start off by saying I have never left a bad review for a company, ever. We are simple people with not much to complain about. When we told a friend we were getting a quote from Hanson's she said "Don't do it!" We hadn't heard many positive things about this company, but decided to get a quote anyways. We had gotten a quote for installation of 12 windows a few days prior from Wallside windows and were pleased, but still wanted to get another quote from Hansons since we were interested in siding and gutters as well. We made an appointment for 9AM on Sunday because they wanted both of us there for the meeting. We had guests arriving to our home at noon the same day, but we figured three hours was sure to be more than enough time for this meeting. The guy rolled in 15 minutes late, but it didn't bother us any. Measures our windows etc. then continues to to try and sell us on how great of a company they are and how they strive on customer service. An hour and a half in and we still hadn't even gotten a quote on how much these windows would cost us. In my mind I was thinking, this is exactly what you do if you want to lose customers. Finally close to 10:45 he gives us a quote. Literally over double what Wallside quoted us. (Wallside quoted us just over $5,000 for 12 windows.) So my husband tells this guy he isn't interested, as it was double what we had previously been quoted. So he asks what we were quoted from Wallside and starts to Lower the price and try to match it (or get close.) Husband still said no. He then proceeds to lower the price again, but still $3,000 over our previous quote from Wallside. We still said no, the guy would not take no for an answer. It is now 11:15 and we hadn't even gotten a quote on siding/gutters. Finally a final quote for everything around noon. Husband says he will contact them once we talk it over and make a decision on what we wanted to do. It was clear he wasn't leaving until we were an absolute yes. At this point we are both looking at each other, wondering if this was a dream or was he actually still in our home, still trying to convince us to sign some papers TODAY! Since it's noon, our company began to roll in. He still continues to talk, never acknowledging our guests and completely disregarding that we wanted to talk it over before we made a decision. He never left our house until 12:30. Three and a half hours folks, three and a half hours. If I'm completely honest, ya'll lost our business an hour and a half in and I can say with 100% certainty that that when he left our home we were the furthest thing from satisfied customers. read more

Because the building is used for a business and owned under the business, Hanson's will not work on it. I was told that Hanson's doesn't work on anything not owned by a person(s) individually. I had a roof installed by this company. I will never recommend them to anyone. They left scrap roof materials in my gutters and all over my yard. It took several calls and at least three trips back to my property before they had it all cleaned up. The quality of work that was performed was far below the standard that was sold to us. There are shingles that are curled up that you can see underneath from the ground, gaps in the drip edge, and several areas where the drip edge looks as though it was ran over by a truck before it was installed. I am completely unhappy with the job performed by their crew. On top of all of this the rep who is supposed to walk around the property with you after completion almost made us feel like we had to sign the document stating our satisfaction, even though it was dark when he came and we didn't walk around the property to inspect the work performed. They did credit us $180 for having to come back and clean up, but it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. read more

Take it from me, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, use Hanson's for roofing. I am not sure how they handle their other jobs, but they contract their roof jobs out to third parties. We were told that we had a "great" crew coming. Yet, the "great" crew left our roof untarped in rain. We had leaks in two of our bedrooms. Their "fix" was to throw some caulk where the leak was; we have textured ceilings and they used popcorn ceiling. It looked awful. They had to come out a few more times just to get that right. I'm sure the leak was not sealed properly. We found scores of nails left on our roof that must have been in gutters because they showed up after a rain. The person who was "supervising" our job was rude and unprofessional. We also never saw him at the actual job sight. The financing they got us had additional fees that we were not expecting. We need our windows done, too. So I guess the upside to all this is that we can cross Hansons off the list of potential contractors. read more
