I asked for a breakdown of the repairs done on the roof - they had repaired some damage due to ice damming. I had emailed three individuals. I had even spoken with a supervisor in person. There has not been a response via email or phone. But this morning, I received an email reminder to pay the invoice. Apparently, they can follow up on that, but everything else is ignored. I was going to keep them in mind for the future, but this lack of communication has changed my mind. This is very unprofessional and they are losing future business. My recommendation for anyone looking for roofing services is this: If you want someone who will communicate with you after the job is done, continue searching because Weathervane discards their customers once the work is done. read more

March 2022 we hired for ventilation issues and heat loss problem in attic. They proposed power attic vent and we also had some shingles replaced in areas. I suggested a smart vent in attic area as it is unvented soffits with just a short ridge vent over one room. Rest of home has cathedral ceiling. They insisted power vent was way to go. So we had electric ran to attic for $450.00 for power vent. They came installed power vent and replaced shingles with the wrong ones. Then we found that all the power vent did was pull hot air back into attic from ridge vent. They did agree to credit us for power vent and replace with smart vent. And returned in October to swap out vent and put correct shingles on. I don't believe they are knowledgeable on ventilation or insulation issues as can be see in pics we have posted. we spent $4600.00 with Weathervane and $450.00 on electrician. complete waste of money. Do not recommend this company for any project other than maybe slapping shingles on! read more

I contacted Weather Vane Roofing back in October of 2021 about needing some relatively minor, yet highly important and time-sensitive roof repairs. Cora answered the phone and was then scheduled an evaluation with Rick, who went out to the house while it was unoccupied to assess the repairs that needed to be done, which involved two small holes in our roof near the eaves, and some damaged shingles. He quoted me a seemingly fair price, and acknowledged the urgency (since it had been raining a lot recently and there was danger of water entering the attic), and said steps would be taken to address this soon. Everything seemed fine at that point. The moment I agreed to the work, things took a turn for the worse. I was informed that Rick was no longer my point of contact, and instead a project manager named Ryan would take over. At this time I re-read the contract and noticed that some a "Flexible Installation Savings Discount" had been applied to my roof repair which was NEVER discussed or mentioned to me previously. A little lower, in fine print, their contract then reads: "The owner understands that if a flexible installation discount is chosen that Weather Vane Roofing will complete this project at their own convenience. Weather Vane Roofing will try to allow a 24-hour notice but it is not required." It's basically an escape clause, meaning they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, without needing to communicate with the owner, and without repurcussion. At this point, I tried calling and emailing Rick and got no response. I tried calling Ryan, and again received no response. It became extremely clear to me that this is something they opt you into automatically as a way to defer jobs indefinitely. Panicked, I then tried emailing Ryan, asking him what we're supposed to do. (At this point I should mention that we were closing on the house, but had not lived in it yet.) Instead of any sort of a thoughtful reply, Ryan wrote back one single word: "Tarp." From that point on I never heard from them again. Eventually I called Cora back at the main office and explained to her what happened. Thankfully, we were able to cancel our contract, since no work had been completed and no balance was due. At least their office staff compassionate. As for Rick and Ryan? Don't trust these crooks! I'm just very relieved we hadn't contacted them for a bigger job, and I would advise anyone reading this to be extremely wary of this fly-by-night company. (By the way, we eventually did get our roof repaired by Matt from Jimmerson Roofing instead, who not only gave us a competitive price, but also managed to get the job done in record time.) read more

Workers arrived at 7:00 am and started hammering on my home and did not stop until after it was dark, at 8:30 pm. They asked to borrow gas to run their air compressor, they plugged in their microwave oven into my outside outlet to cook their lunch, they peed in my backyard one after the other as if they'd all chugged coffee for hours before arriving, they broke a window, a screen, a planter, wrecked many feet of cedar trim and paint, left 2 gaping holes in my cement board, cracked plaster in two rooms of my home from dropping 85 lb pallets of shingles from one level to another, and cracked pieces of my walkway. After inspection by a third party, their work is shoddy and had to be repaired, their idea of "fixing" things is laughable, and I am supposed to be okay with all this because they promise to make it right and they fired the crew that was supposedly hand-picked to roof my home. All the damage, all the oversight, had to be discovered and reported by me and was not detected by their GM who supposedly inspected my home before signing off on the job. Their crew spent 3/21/22 and half of 3/22/22 on my home. It took months to finalize the mess they created. The owner was condescending in our meeting with me, my husband, and the contractor who recommended them. They were not the cheapest bid, but they came highly recommended and I took the word of our contractor and hired Weather Vane over Jimmerson (which is also run by a condescending owner). Do not hire them as they do not stand by their work, their workers, and the top of the company does not know what the people at your home are doing nor do they care. Take your money and your trust somewhere else. read more
