I asked for a receiver, nothing special. I just wanted a very loud stereo. I was told it cost around a thousand dollars but when I paid, it was over $1,700. Also, the guy working said that I couldn't return it. I bought another antenna bc the one in the box cost about $5 and wasn't worth anything. I still only get 2 radio stations. I am 63 years old and he sold me an AVR, not a simple receiver. I think he had me purchase his expensive stereo while giving me a cheaper stereo. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this "business". The employees in the showroom were very attentive and very helpful, but this was where it then went down hill. They handed me over to Andres. I have never met someone so narcissistic in my life. All he tried to sell me is what he wanted me to have and did not listen to a word I said. I expressed what I wanted in my system, but I just ended up getting why it wasn't a good idea or why it could be even better. This is not how you should treat your customers. I was so turned off by my experience I decided to go to another company in the same area, and let me tell you. The difference is quite something. OK full disclosure I never ended up hiring these guys. That being said I worked long enough on proposals and counter proposals, discussions at my house (and over the phone) I think I got a pretty good feeling for them. People admit there are extremely intelligent professional and dedicated. Superb responsiveness. They took tons of time to really make sure that they understood my needs and my expectations. Our house was built over 20 years ago so it's fair to say that the Internet capabilities were just a bit better than 2 cans and a string. Coax throughout the home and wiring methods taught by Salvador Dali. After a thorough evaluation, they delivered a proposal that was clear and understandable to a troglodyte like me. I took off one star because they insist on presenting the proposal in person " to go over with you". I wanted time for me to read it, think about it and develop useful questions before the in person walkthrough. They declined. Too bad. The price was way higher than the competitor and the difference was too great for me to ignore. I do have some security needs for my home and I feel they could help I'll give them another shot for sure. No doubt they can do a great job. read more

We bought a Sonos wireless home sound system about a year ago and have slowly been adding to it. This weekend we purchased another speaker. We how have beautiful music in the kitchen, master bath, living room and my wife's studio. We also have two outdoor speakers pool side and a Sonos sound bar in our theater room - it's wonderful. They all work great on the Sonos app and they are controlled by an app on our phones. Also on the Sonos app, we can connect to thousands of radio stations throughout the world. A few we listen to: Portland MA San Francisco KFOG Iceland Duluth, Mn Tucson, Az We listen to our sound system daily and we have both remarked we wish we had done this years ago. Every time we have connected with Hanson's for something they have immediately responded and helped! A+ for Hanson!! I highly recommend them for sound systems. read more

It's May 30 and I'm waiting for them to respond to a request from March 31. I can't imagine they think this an acceptable response time. We've been clients for almost 4 years and I'm clearly convinced they don't know about the "customer lifetime value", or CLV, concept. If you have this kind of time to wait for them to reprogram your kitchen lighting, install a gaming device and fix the audio with Apple Music, then this is the firm for you. Good luck. read more

As Melissa noted last year, Hanson does not seem to think about or care about customer lifetime value. They could have had me as a new customer if they had been able to set up the system. But they were unable to and seemed like the didn't know what they were doing in that the system isn't working (which should when you have such high end materials) and the only way for them to supposedly fix it is to charge a $150 service fee to come look at it. Syncing schedules means you have to wait even longer to get your home system to work. Oh, and they changed my wifi to something unsafe but are unwilling to change it back...but they work in security ? read more

I read some of these positive reviews written years ago and I wonder what happened with my project? My experience with Hanson AV was positive in the beginning. I felt confident in the abilities because they have a nice store front, top brands and they are the highest rated installer on Control4's list. I can tell you that my project has been a nightmare. The products installed under the recommendations of the sales rep do not preform as promised. They do not function the way I expected. I must rely on Hanson AV to troubleshoot any technical issues during business hours. If you want to invite the group over to watch the Sunday game check that your system is functioning the morning of or make alternate plans. From my experience there may not be anyone to help you for two days. Bottom line: I feel like I was taken advantage of by Hanson Audio Video. They sold me a turn key solution then delivered a flawed system with constant bugs and work arounds. read more

Purchased a Control 4 system and it worked great "initially"... now, a few years later, any change in my system needs an update from them - but they are slow to non responsive. I guess we didn't spend enough money in their establishment to warrant their time. And tech support? So I have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on Control 4 systems and have gone through 3 dealers in a little over four years. Hanson comes to Cincinnati and friends tell me to check them out. They are a huge Control 4 dealer. So after multiple visits from Hanson and multiple phone calls/texts asking for help, they told me I had to spend over $8,000 to bring it up to "their standard". I just wanted it to work for once. Unless you have money to burn don't go near these folks. read more

Excellent top of the line a/v dealer. The low end equipment is excellent the top end equipment. When I say top end I am talking that you could buy a new Ferrari for same cost. Very, very knowledgeable and none of the snobby attitude found in most high end A/V stores. Very fair prices. Just keep one thing in mind....bring your wallet or leave it at home. The store in Cinci open just down the street from me and my bank account has been suffering ever since. I am headed to the Dayton store now to pick up a McIntosh high end amp. Credit card is crying. I have purchased a few things here and even though, by what they carry, it's not a lot of money (about $3k), they treat me like like I am spending a fortune. Josh and Kevin and all have been exemplary! They have both, patiently, let me audition several speakers and always have excellent suggestions as to options. I bought a Rotel A12 at their suggestion and could not be happier. The Sonus Faber speakers are excellent, just as they suggested. Rounding that out with the fantastic Project Carbon Esprit turntable and some very good inexpensive cables nad we have a killer audio system. I went back and purchased the B&W P7 Wireless headphones and had an equally excellent experience. Bottom line, best place, without a doubt, to purchase audio, video and home theater equipment, service and installation. Go there and see for yourself. read more

Very knowable staff that really cares and knows this stuff inside and out. I have to say that we went into the new room they just built and listen to some new speakers they had set up (i cant remember the brand) but it was the best sound My wife and I had ever heard. Going to Hanson, wes definitley worth the drive from Cincinnati. They have a selection that cannot be beat in the region. I was able to find speakers that I thought would only read about. The staff truly helped me find the best speakers in my budget. I am now listening to the most natural sounding speakers; the music shines as it was recorded - I might as well be in the studio.
