My 26-year-old Klipsch KSW 200 12" downward-firing ported subwoofer finally died a month ago, so I was in the market for a suitable replacement. After a fair amount of online research, I found these Dayton Audio SUB-XX00 series subwoofers at Parts Express and liked their performance and price. I ended up choosing the beautiful (and large) Dayton #SUB-1500 to replace the Klipsch as they featured speaker-level inputs, which was a primary consideration for me. My old Klipsch KSW 200 had the speaker-level inputs, and my vintage 1980 Sansui receiver wasn't built for direct line subwoofer output. The new Dayton sub arrived in less than a week. After some tuning of both the crossover point (~70Hz) and gain knobs, this sub works perfectly in my family room supplementing my 1980 Klipsch Heresy I's. I have them placed high up on my entertainment center, and I listen to a lot of jazz (classical, smooth jazz, lounge), and the bass levels are now perfect with the SUB-1500. I'm thrilled I went with this larger 15" front-firing model! It's working great and has been an excellent value so far. Oh, and the guidance offered by your customer support person there when I called ~four weeks ago to get guidance on which model would be best for me was spot on. Although he said he had the 12" sub at his house, I decided to go the full monty and get the 15" model since the rather large housing fit perfectly where the old KSW 200 used to sit. And the SUB-1500 wasn't much more expensive than the 12" SUB-1200. I ordered a subwoofer, DSP, 5 individual speakers, and a few other components for a center channel build project for a customer of mine. My order sat untouched for 8 days. I figured there would be some delay due to COVID, however their website still advertises same day delivery if ordered before 4pm and its been 8 days so I decided to call them. The person I spoke with had no idea why no one touched my order as everything I ordered was in stock. She said she will check and get back to me later that day. 2 days later I get an email that they are going to ship it finally, I replied back and asked if they could express ship so I am not waiting another week+ due to their mistake. Big shocker, my email was ignored, I never got a reply back and everything shipped with the basic economy shipping. Maybe in another 8 days they will reply once my stuff is delivered. Some stuff they sell you cant find anywhere else, however I will make sure to check other places out first before ordering from here again, I just cant wait 3 weeks to get something shipped, especially when I have customers waiting. read more

Stay away! I placed an order for speaker fabric. The invoice I got in email had the wrong address. I called immediately and was assured it would be corrected. It clearly was not when the package was shipped to the wrong address. I called again after delivery and was told that the shipping address could not have been changed per policy and whoever told me that was wrong. They said if the package was found I could have it sent to a shipping hub, no where near where I lived, or they would wait to see if it was returned to them. In the meantime I would not get my money back. These folks are scammers! The operator hung up on me when I told her I would report them to PayPal. read more

There was one part was out of stock, parts express was upfront with the problem to me. Then later they found out the part was no longer made, which of course I was notified asap. Parts Express has ALWAYS been the place to go for quality and GREAT customer service ! I recently bought a HDTV antenna with rotation feature. When assembled and tested, the IR remote control did not function. I called Parts Express customer service, and discussed the issue. The Customer Service Agent asked if I had a smart phone with a camera. Of course ! He asked if I could turn on the camera, put it on a table, and point the remote control at it. He asked, what did I see? Replying that I saw a flashing purple light from the remote. He indicated the remote is fine, but the sensor in the controller malfunctioned. He sent a replacement, and the new unit works just fine ! I certainly appreciated the tip to use a smartphone camera to test operation of IR remote controls !!!! I ordered a Yamaha 5 disc changer in May. I was notified they don't really have the product, but estimated they might have it by June 19. On June 25 I emailed to ask the status of the shipment. I was advised today they think they may have it by or around August 5. Why does Parts Express pretend to offer items for sale that they don't have and can't get. If I didn't have to have any inventory, I could run this entire business out of my basement. Really weak. read more

Out of curiosity, I looked at the reviews for PE. I feel that the most recent review is unfair, so I am posting my opinion of PE. I live in Canada, so the dollar difference hurts. Also shipping hurts because PE does not/cannot cover it to Canada. It is what it is. My last shipment got delayed for 2 months by UPS because of the current plague. I contacted PE and the girl answering my inquiry as to whereabouts of my shipment, stayed on the job with me until I got my stuff. I did not expect this help. I am very impressed with the level of care they gave for a simple little shipment that was in the hands of others. The shipments are sent out quickly and when the items say in stock, they are. All my 10 or so experiences with them have been perfect. What more can I say. Keep up the good work PE. read more

Great site with tons of selection on high quality audio components and great prices! I would totally give 5 stars.. but I live in Canada........ and the extra shipping cost often outweighs any savings if you have it shipped over the border. I would order a LOT more stuff from them if they could offer free shipping to Canada, or open a Canadian warehouse for this purpose! I tend to save up a list of stuff and have it shipped to a border mail outlet not far from where I live... Which works.. but of course would be much more convenient to have it shipped to my door.. Great if you live close to the border.. but if not.. you are pretty much S.O.L. and may as well buy the higher priced components within Canada... Dear Parts Express... If you don't feel like driving there, you can still shop for everything they have online. My only complaint is that the store is farther away from me now. Having the product one needs is only 50% of the job. GETTING it to the customer is the rest of the job. This company has a horrific record of high shipping cost vs. incredibly long wait times to get the parts to you. Don't waist your time. Go to Amazon or anyone else. I ordered a tiny little item 11 days ago. Paid nearly $7 for shipping. Over 4 times the cost of the item. It's still not here. The tracking tells me that it was in my city 6 days ago so its just been sitting. They take your money and pay the least possible amount for the cheapest shipping possible so your stuff waits and waits and waits to be delivered while the pad their bank with most of what you paid for shipping. Never again! So many others on different sites complain about the same thing. Over and over again. Do yourself a favor and buy your stuff anyplace but Parts Express. Customer service is at least attentive, however very lacking at the same time, every speaker I purchased from them blew out from minimal use, in a matter of a couple of weeks, at first I thought the problem was with my receiver, however after testing the speakers, there was no response from them at all, after contacting them was told to send them in for replacements as they are still under warranty, they did not sent me a return label so I had to pay for shipping back, OK no problem, as I was told they would replace them, a week goes by and I get an email saying they deny the claim due to voice coils being burned out, when a voice coil goes out there is a smell of burning electronics and usually a discoloration around the cones, neither of these occurred with the speakers I purchased, they were just dead after a week of minimal use!!!!! I spent around $60 for all the speakers and they are fighting me on this? running a 100W receiver and blaming me for your crap speakers? that are rated for well over 100w... GET REAL, you sold me crap and are now not wanting to make it right, EXTREMELY Disappointed. read more
