I would stay away from this place.
I purchased a used computer from them that came with a 30 day guarantee printed on the receipt. Within the 30 days a line of pixels went out on the screen.
I figured, no problem, it is within the 30 days, I can just return it, right? Wrong.
First of all the store associate acted like he had no clue what to do without a manager's approval. He said that he would check with a manager and get back to me in an hour or two. Half a day passed and I didn't hear from them so I called. He said he still didn't have an answer and that he would call in another couple hours. Again, I waited over 4 hours and no one called. I called again. He still has no clue.
Why should this be so hard? The computer you sold me is broken and I'd like to return it, per your 30 day guarantee.
A WEEK GOES BY with the same run around. I finally hear from the manager John after calling DAILY. He says that a different person, a woman, has to approve the return. He said that "my case was being looked at." Case??? Why is this so complicated???
After another few days without any word I call. The store clerk gives me John's personal number because I can never seem to reach him.
When I call John, his tone is hostile. Instead of answering my query about the status of he return he demands, "Why did you wait until the 30 day period was almost over to decide you weren't happy with the computer??" I explained that I brought it in as soon as the line of pixels went out.
Then he changed tactic... "I've never seen a screen like that before," says the man who has never actually physically observed my computer, "I wonder what it has been through in your house for those 30 days..."
I asked him if he was accusing me of damaging my computer on purpose to elicit a return. He made no comment.
I am still in shock from this interaction. What kind of business practice is that? To refuse to return a damaged item that you had guaranteed, and then to ACCUSE the consumer of causing the damage on purpose?
Ludicrous. I hope these people go out of business for their immoral business practices. read more
