If you're reading this you're in a tough spot. You need good legal advice and understanding, you don't need cuddles and lots of empathy. Mr.Hansen is your guy. He actually does listen and he does know what your feelings probably are. I've read some reviews of his that feel like he is somehow harsh-he isn't he is simply listening and giving you outstanding legal understanding and counsel. My divorce should've been a relatively easy one but it dragged on for over a year. Jonathon was not my lawyer, but my ex husband's. My ex and I needed a modification order for summer and I received about 5-7 emails from Jonathon. He was very professional in his first emails, however, that did not last and in the actual order was a lot of problems. My ex and I were laying out a summer plan, so all 8 - 10 weeks of the summer needed to be addressed. I would get an email from Jonathan and there would be weeks missing or weeks that overlapped each other. I would say that either Jonathon or his legal assistant did not actually look at a calendar when proposing days for the order. I was pretty shocked when one line would then contradict the next line. Twice. There was also one email reply that came from Jonathon that just said 'cool'. Um... Not cool actually. We are professionals here. I agreed to the order on July 6 and emailed Jonathon's office (even though there was one last date that needed to be changed). I emailed his office again on July 22 since I had not seen an email nor snail mail of the signed order from the judge. I heard nothing. Professional, a bit impatient, has a lot of typos in his work, so make sure to proof read them carefully. He offers good and humane advice that will save you more heartbreak and money in the future, so it is well-worth it to choose him so that you don't make your own dumb/bad mistakes. You may not get the most pleasant of advice, but will instead get guidance that is effective and will paint a picture of how the world really works, and John knows how to get through tense situations in the most graceful manner possible. I called a few lawyers in the area and after talking to John I felt that I got the best advice and, he may be pricey, but will save you more in the long run and it's obvious he has been serving the law for a long time. His office is a bit strange to find. He prefers talking on the phone rather than emailing. I prefer this from someone giving important advice. For this current millennial generation that's hard to find anymore. He is short and frank on the phone, which I found a bit off-putting at first but I understand he does it because he has so much information and clients to get through. It was finalized today, 91 days later. I'm glad I used his services - having him take care of it was a load off of my mind and very easy. Dinged one star because there was one time I went in to take care of some revisions and he was on the phone with another client the whole time. I worked with Jon for about a three month period. I found Jon to be fairly accessible and responsive over the phone and email. On occasion he was kind enough to even take a call after hours just to calm my nerves. I felt his legal advice was adequate and in my scenario it was a lose-lose no matter who represented me. My biggest concern with Jon was his written communication and particularly his grammar. I found myself making significant edits to his legal filings. It's hardly a show stopper, but I think it's something to be aware of prior to hiring him. MIA during my mediation. He worked on someone else's case during the most important 9 hours of my life and I had NO legal advice or review of the final CR2A agreement. He allowed my ex to slip small but crucial changes in the wording which cost me tens of thousands in the asset division; the change to a disproportionate share of assets got changed by my ex's sharper attorney to a disproportionate share of the house only, saddled me with all of the expenses of maintaining the marital house through sale just with slipping in the word "maintenance", and I had NO advice from Mr. Hansen when my ex slipped in arbitration instead of mediation. Then he dropped the ball on transferring my share of my ex's 401K. I have been dealing with ongoing litigation from my ex as he just walked right through the wide open door that his lawyer propped open and Mr. Hansen failed to catch. read more

Craig Hansen represented my ex wife and because of his very dishonest and very unprofessional practices, he has successfully changed a rather simple and straightforward case to a long over 2 years of dragging battle without any hope to see the end on either side. He would simply bend facts, do bad accounting without any common sense, and make the justice system look like a total joke. My attorney has told me that many of his cases have been either vacated or appealed long after the clients have paid him and thought the cases were finally over after years long battles. I have been forced to spend more than $10,000 to vacate and appeal my case, simply because of his malpractices and misconducts. I will make a complaint Washington State Bar and sue him for malpractices as well. Craig Hansen is just the worst of worst of all lawyers you can ever meet. If you don't want him to change your case into a total nightmare, do not ever hire him. He is just not worth the huge problems which he brought into his cases.
