If you're reading this you're in a tough spot. You need good legal advice and understanding, you don't need cuddles and lots of empathy. Mr.Hansen is your guy. He actually does listen and he does know what your feelings probably are. I've read some reviews of his that feel like he is somehow harsh-he isn't he is simply listening and giving you outstanding legal understanding and counsel. It's your situation that is harsh not Mr.Hansen. The first call is worth so much, just call him and your understanding will go up by 100% for free. When you perceive his understanding and ability you will retain him as your counsel. Full disclosure: I reconciled with my spouse (hallelujah) so didn't wind up completing the divorce. read more

My divorce should've been a relatively easy one but it dragged on for over a year. My first attorney was "too nice" - while it was comforting to have someone understand what I was going through, what I needed was an attorney, not a friend. After several months of high legal fees and no progress while my confidence in my first attorney diminished, I retained Mr. Hansen as my attorney. That was the best decision I made during the divorce process. The other side created unnecessary hurdles, was non-responsive most of the times, and relied on bullying tactics. Mr. Hansen arrived at mediation equipped with all the pertinent documents and paperwork, equipment, and prepared arguments for my case. Mr. Hansen focused on application of the law throughout the process, providing great legal advice that saved me a lot of money and headache. His approach is very direct and matter of fact. He has immense experience and knowledge of family law. My confidence in him never wavered. I highly recommend contacting Mr. Hansen if you are going through a divorce - it'll be worth it. His fees are very fair and he's honest in his dealings which I genuinely appreciated. More importantly, he worked diligently to dissolve the marriage. read more

Jonathon was not my lawyer, but my ex husband's. My ex and I needed a modification order for summer and I received about 5-7 emails from Jonathon. He was very professional in his first emails, however, that did not last and in the actual order was a lot of problems. My ex and I were laying out a summer plan, so all 8 - 10 weeks of the summer needed to be addressed. I would get an email from Jonathan and there would be weeks missing or weeks that overlapped each other. I would say that either Jonathon or his legal assistant did not actually look at a calendar when proposing days for the order. I was pretty shocked when one line would then contradict the next line. Twice. There was also one email reply that came from Jonathon that just said 'cool'. Um... Not cool actually. We are professionals here. I agreed to the order on July 6 and emailed Jonathon's office (even though there was one last date that needed to be changed). I emailed his office again on July 22 since I had not seen an email nor snail mail of the signed order from the judge. I heard nothing. I emailed again July 27 stating that I had not heard anything and if a copy could be sent to me. He emailed me stating that he had 'lost control of it and it was entered in on July 26'. Lost control? I. have. no. other. words. read more

Professional, a bit impatient, has a lot of typos in his work, so make sure to proof read them carefully. He offers good and humane advice that will save you more heartbreak and money in the future, so it is well-worth it to choose him so that you don't make your own dumb/bad mistakes. You may not get the most pleasant of advice, but will instead get guidance that is effective and will paint a picture of how the world really works, and John knows how to get through tense situations in the most graceful manner possible. I called a few lawyers in the area and after talking to John I felt that I got the best advice and, he may be pricey, but will save you more in the long run and it's obvious he has been serving the law for a long time. His office is a bit strange to find. He prefers talking on the phone rather than emailing. I prefer this from someone giving important advice. For this current millennial generation that's hard to find anymore. He is short and frank on the phone, which I found a bit off-putting at first but I understand he does it because he has so much information and clients to get through. It is also better for pricing because he charges by the hour and it's not like you are going to be asking about each others' days the whole time. read more

My divorce just got finalized today and I couldn't be more grateful to Jon for all of his help this past year. Going through a divorce with a small toddler on hand can get quite stressful. Jon was very patient with me, answering all my minor questions. He is very professional, respectful, experienced and extremely knowledgeable in Family Law. He paints a realistic picture and explains all possible outcomes. I knew I was in good hands as soon as I met with him. I am also thankful to Jon for being efficient, which is important because billing hours can add up quickly. He took care of things quickly, gave me homework when needed, responded to all my emails and phone calls promptly. In his closing arguments I felt that Jon was actually fighting for me, not simply trying to win the case. It was a relocation case and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. I couldn't thank him enough for all the work he has put into my case and for helping me go back home to my family! Highly recommend! read more

Took us as client and as soon as we had any questions he dropped us as clients. Seems like guy that wants to take your money and not do any work. He cost us months in time that we can't get back. read more

I was looking for a way to get through my divorce process as quickly and easily as possible. It was also extremely important that both my ex-husband and myself were able to retain our dignity and mutual respect. Working with Jon Hansen provided us with that solution. He handled all of the paperwork, answered all of our ongoing questions and completed the whole process in 3 months. It was quick, as painless as it could be and affordable. read more

I worked with Jon for about a three month period. I found Jon to be fairly accessible and responsive over the phone and email. On occasion he was kind enough to even take a call after hours just to calm my nerves. I felt his legal advice was adequate and in my scenario it was a lose-lose no matter who represented me. My biggest concern with Jon was his written communication and particularly his grammar. I found myself making significant edits to his legal filings. It's hardly a show stopper, but I think it's something to be aware of prior to hiring him. If I had to go through this process all over again I would likely spend more time evaluating other options. read more

I went to Hansen Law Group to file for an uncontested divorce. We created the initial documents, did a couple of revisions to make sure everyone was happy with the agreement, filed it. It was finalized today, 91 days later. I'm glad I used his services - having him take care of it was a load off of my mind and very easy. Dinged one star because there was one time I went in to take care of some revisions and he was on the phone with another client the whole time. We made our few corrections silently and I went on my way after 10 minutes or so. It felt a bit awkward but ultimately everything that needed to be done was done. read more

I am very grateful to Mr. Hansen for his sound advice, quick communication and knowledgeable answers. It made a difficult and painful situation a bit more bearable. read more

I do believe I got great counsel from Jon, and consider myself lucky that he took my case. He's a hard working professional, RESPONSIVE, experienced, he is THE family law/divorce attorney you need, so don't look further. He was very patient in explaining things to me, direct yet empathetic. One thing I wish I did differently was to listen to him more and talk less. He can see the big picture so don't get hung up on little details, just listen to him because he got you covered, he will guide you every step of the way. Highly recommend him! read more

I had a pleasure of working with Jonathan Hansen on my divorce in Jan 2016. Jon is very professional and up to the point, doesn't waste your time. Everything was done very quickly, minimum paperwork and minimum effort from my side. Would recommend Jon to anyone who needs a divorce attorney. read more

MIA during my mediation. He worked on someone else's case during the most important 9 hours of my life and I had NO legal advice or review of the final CR2A agreement. He allowed my ex to slip small but crucial changes in the wording which cost me tens of thousands in the asset division; the change to a disproportionate share of assets got changed by my ex's sharper attorney to a disproportionate share of the house only, saddled me with all of the expenses of maintaining the marital house through sale just with slipping in the word "maintenance", and I had NO advice from Mr. Hansen when my ex slipped in arbitration instead of mediation. Then he dropped the ball on transferring my share of my ex's 401K. I have been dealing with ongoing litigation from my ex as he just walked right through the wide open door that his lawyer propped open and Mr. Hansen failed to catch. read more

I've used Mr. Hansen 2x in the last 10 years and HIGHLY recommend him. In both cases, I felt immediately better after our initial conversations and then extremely well taken care of during the subsequent process and proceedings. Mr. Hansen is very direct and to the point, which I actually very much appreciate. He doesn't sugar coat things and is very open with what you can and can't expect based on his knowledge of the law, which is extensive. I personally appreciated being able to know exactly where I stood legally and then being able to make a confident, informed decision with Mr. Hansen's advice and guidance. I would use him again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone that is in need of legal advice. I am very grateful that he was recommended to me years ago from a trusted friend. read more

I had a very simple case for divorce. All of the financial and other separation work was already done by my ex and me. I asked him to handle the paperwork for court. Jon did it very efficiently and speedily. He submitted the papers to court the day we asked him to, and pushed it through to the end three months later, as soon as was legally allowed, as we requested. It was a pleasure to work with Jon. read more

I worked with Jon on an uncontested divorce. He was quick to return my calls and make edits. He filed the paperwork as promised after the 90 day waiting period. We did all of this over the phone and email and it was relatively easy...no need to run to Bellevue. It was a very emotional time for me and knowing that this was handled well made things easier. read more

We had an uncontested divorce that we wanted to get over with quickly. Jon really knows the process and called out any risks that could cause delay. He is very responsive. During our first call, he gathered all necessary information regarding children, property, debts, etc. put them in his template and within a day, I had the divorce papers to review. Also, during the 90-day waiting period, an event occurred that could have stopped the court from granting/finalizing the divorce. Jon gave great advice and solution that both me and my ex could agree on, redrafted the separation agreement, and avoided any hiccups. He is polite and understanding. I'm very happy with Jon's service and would definitely recommend him. read more

Craig Hansen represented my ex wife and because of his very dishonest and very unprofessional practices, he has successfully changed a rather simple and straightforward case to a long over 2 years of dragging battle without any hope to see the end on either side. He would simply bend facts, do bad accounting without any common sense, and make the justice system look like a total joke. My attorney has told me that many of his cases have been either vacated or appealed long after the clients have paid him and thought the cases were finally over after years long battles. I have been forced to spend more than $10,000 to vacate and appeal my case, simply because of his malpractices and misconducts. I will make a complaint Washington State Bar and sue him for malpractices as well. Craig Hansen is just the worst of worst of all lawyers you can ever meet. If you don't want him to change your case into a total nightmare, do not ever hire him. He is just not worth the huge problems which he brought into his cases. Washington State Bar honestly should just disbar Craig Hansen immediately to avoid being look like a total joke. What a total joke, disgrace and disaster to Washington State Lawyers. read more
