    Pizza oven

My friend and I decided to visit after work in September. Weather was perfect so we purchased a bottle to share by the pond. The proprietor stopped to see how our tasting was going and proceeded to engage in talking politics. He was so rude it just destroyed our nice day. I personally will never return. As for the wines, they are ok. If in a wine store I wouldn't purchase them off the shelf. The new pizza oven is very impressive and the pizza was very good, but when you're rude to customers it doesn't matter if your products are good.

SUCH A CUTE AREA! The vibes are amazing. Everyone is so happy and helpful. The land is BEAUTIFUL. It's a great spot to get together with friends or a day date. We did the wine tasting before purchasing a bottle and got to KEEP THE GLASS. How fun ?! A must try is the woodfired pizza.

This winery located a short distance from downtown Hamilton and located in an attractive rural setting. We went for an evening that had live music. You can bring your own lawn chairs (they also have limited tables and chairs). What a relaxing way to enjoy local wine and music. They also have beer (craft and domestic) and bourbon available. You can do a wine tasting. Their wines range from sweet to dry. They offer a limited food and charcuterie menu.

This has been on my list of wineries to go to. Finally my friend and I went on a Saturday early afternoon. Hanover Winery has been in business since 2009 and located in Hamilton, Ohio outside of Cincinnati. Beautiful view of the Ohio farm/field and you drive to the back to park. I love the tasting room. It's very cozy and decorated simple. The woman who helped us was really down to earth and knowledgeable on their wines. The tasting is $7.00 which you choose 7 wines from the list and you get to keep their logo wine glass. This is what I tried: -Cabernet Sauvignon-Oak barrel aged, soft tannins, aromas of dark fruits and vanilla. $18.00 R.S. 1.5% -Marquette- An excellent ruby red wine, grandson to the Pinot Noir grape. $18.00 R.S. 0.5% -Chambourcin-A complex red wine with rich dark fruit flavors, oak aged. $13.99 R.S. 1.0% -Black Dahlia- Merlot Blackberry, dark and delicious. $16.50 R.S. 0.5% -Baco Noir- a bold dry red with layers of plum and vanilla flavors, oak barrel aged. $17.00 R.S. 1.0% -Marechal Foch- Spicy notes, medium oak. $12.99 R.S. 1.0% -Riesling-Dry with fruity notes, aromas of apples and pears $12.99 R.S. 0.5% New Release I like that they put the percentage on R.S (sugar content) on the list. I like my wines extra dry so it helps. My favorites are the Chambourcin and the Riesling (bought these two). The Baco Noir and Marechal Foch was also good! Hanover Winery also does events and hosts a Farmer's Market (promoting local fresh produce and products). Make sure to check out the website on dates. They also welcome private groups and outdoor parties if you want to reserve a spot. The whole experience was great and the wines was excellent! I definately recommend you come here.

Loved our wine tasting. We brought some snacks of our own and bought a bottle of Riesling to enjoy after the tasting. It was nice to sit out by the water and enjoy summer at one of the picnic tables. We'll definitely be back!

New sweet Cabernet Sauvignon, Mason's Red! Delicious!

Wine with an amazing view? Yes please!…read more The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room knows how to make an afternoon of enjoying wine. I met my family there over the weekend for a fun lunch. The Ridge allows BYOFood, so we brought a spread. And then we bought wine from them. My favorite was the Blackberry Table Wine, which was sweet but balanced. We took over a table on the large patio that overlooks the Ohio River. And man, what a view. There was slight breeze and ample room for everyone to sit, while being socially distant. We watched barges slowly make their way down the river while we chatted and drank. And then inside, The Ridge has a small but fun gift shop. My mom and aunt bought a cheeky glass and T-shirt. The Ridge also offers tastings in case you want to try several fruit wines. I've had better wine in Kentucky/Indiana, but The Ridge's wine plus view and overall atmosphere makes this a must-visit.

I loved every wine I tried and brought several bottles home (which were consumed within a week or so). The tasting room is connected to a couple's home but it isn't weird at all (b/c I thought it would be!) It was so enjoyable to taste the wine, chat with the owners (who were hilarious and in love), then buy our glasses of wine to relax on the deck for girl talk and river views. I look forward to coming back and hope to bring my husband for a relaxing afternoon!

And normally I would prorest if you took me out and I had to cook my own meat-but this was so much fun and the hubby did all the grilling! If you haven't been here yet you gotta go. Hubby reserved us a table for their cookout. Hubby and I ordered the Vintner Dinner. It included your choice of everything the House Dinner offered (NY Strip, Salmon, Shrimp or Crab Cakes and buffet) plus a Fillet Mignon, 2 premium drinks that cover any wine, beer, or wine slushie. We ordered the Fillet Mignon and it was a beautiful cut of meat!! It just melted in your mouth. You can look online at their menu options! We were so full. The buffet was fantastic, their baked potatoes were amazing! And they had live music from a country group Hearts on Fire. We had an absolute ball. Reservations are taken between 5:00-7:30 pm. Let them know if the size of your party changes because they prepare food fresh based on the reservation size. (They also offer private dinners outside of the normal cookout hours if you want a private event) They also have food you can order from the kitchen like cheese boards, Bavarian pretzels, chips and salsa, nachos and cheese, Caprese Platter, Valley Potato Chicken Boats and more! This place is under new ownership and they said to come back again this spring to see all the new things they're doing! The staff treats you like family and you can tell they've been making people happy for a long time. We took home a bottle of Raspberry Wine and Bourbon Barrel Aged Mead!! They also have craft beer!

She recognized my friend and I were busy talking and didn't rush us to place our order. My friend ordered the tortilla soup and the caprese flatbread, while I went with the crab, shrimp, and lobster bisque and the Leonard burger with fries. My soup came out quickly, but shortly after, the manager came by to let my friend know they were out of the tortilla soup. Because of her dietary restrictions, she declined the substitute options offered. Our entrées arrived without any issues, and everything was delicious. We were both happy with our meals. My friend is a member of their wine club and applied her discount to the bill, but when the check arrived, the discount wasn't reflected on the receipt she was asked to sign. Victoria promptly spoke with the manager, who confirmed the discount had been applied and provided a corrected receipt with the correct total. Overall, we enjoyed our time at CH and would visit again.

We made our reservation about a month in advance, arrived early at 5:00 p.m. for our 5:15 seating, and were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress, Margaret, was friendly at first--but unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. We waited 45 minutes for our starter and an hour and a half for our entrée. What made it more frustrating was watching nearby tables--many seated after us--receive their meals, finish, and even turn over while we were still waiting. We finally left around 7:30 p.m., feeling very disappointed. The food at Cooper's Hawk is consistently excellent, which is why this experience was so discouraging. There were also billing issues: I had a birthday reward and several wine bottles through my membership available, yet the wine was still charged to our bill and the birthday reward wasn't applied until I pointed it out. Although part of it was corrected, we still ended up paying for the bottle that should have been included. We usually enjoy wonderful visits here, and Cooper's Hawk remains one of my favorite restaurants. However, this particular experience--especially the long wait times and billing confusion--was truly disappointing, and I would hesitate to dine in the same section again.
