Reading the reviews made me want to check this place out. Seven Wells Winery is part of the Back Roads Wine Trail in Northern Kentucky. This is my second winery/vineyard on my list. So I only have 4 more to go. :) This is definately out in the middle of nowhere! It's located outside Alexandria, Kentucky. Once you turn on Siry Road, you go up a hill and windy roads. When you arrive, you first see a small rustic building and your view is a beautiful five acre vineyard that is breathtaking! I went on a Saturday early afternoon. As I walked, a gentleman greeted me (friendly and helpful). There were customers enjoying their wine on the patio (which the landscape is very nice/well kept). I love how open and spacious the area is. I did the wine tasting for $5.00 which I can try any wines. They were sold out of the Chardonnay, Noiret, and Southern Gentleman. Which I didn't mind because they had a good selection of wines to choose from. This is what I tried: -Wish you Well- This is a dry blend of Vidal Blanc and Cayuga. Loved the refreshing taste! -Cabernet Franc- This was dry red wine which was served chilled. Which I found really good and one of my favorites. It's full bodied, dry with peppery flavors and oak. -Chambourcin- Semi-Sweet medium bodied, lightly oaked with hints of Black Cherry. -Vidal Blanc- Semi sweet and fruity tones of apply and citrus. This I also thought was a refreshing wine and loved the fruity taste, which was not so sweet. -Traminette- Semi Sweet with spicy aroma and characteristic of its Gewurtaiminor parent. -Chambourcin Blush- Sweet, light and fruity. This is made in the style of a white wine. -Racoon Red- A sweet blend of Chambourcin and Dornfelder. This is their best seller, but it was too sweet for me (I prefer dry red wines). I purchased a bottle of the Cabernet Franc for $15.00. After my tasting, I ordered a glass to enjoy out in the patio (Cabernet Franc). The owners were nice enough to turn the electric fence off so I can walk around and take pictures of the grapes/vineyard. This is a great place to relax! I did not want to leave. Seven Wells Winery also has upcoming special events (view online) or you can also sign up through email if you want to receive updates. I highly recommend coming here and worth the drive! I only liked the Cabernet Franc, because the rest of the wines were a bit sweet, but I had a great experience.

OH MY LORD! Who knew places like this existed so close to Cincinnati? Actually thanks to a group of Yelpers that had checked-in to this place on the NKY Backroads wine trail (http://www.kentuckywine.com/wineries-vineyards/wineries-list/backroads-kentucky-wine-trail/) I totally stole their idea and went on the trail one Sunday afternoon with my sister and her boyfriend and totally made a day of it. Our first stop was Seven Wells Winery, if we did it again, I would make this our last stop so we could spend more time here because I feel like this was the most beautiful one. When we arrived we pull up to this house and a tasting room, you walk in and are immediately greeted by the real star Greg. He is the owner of half of the winery that he bought from his father. We thought Greg had so much fun history to share with us and then in walks in the owner himself. He was SO charming. A good 'ol southern ky gentleman gave us the entire history of how the entire vineyard came to be and I will never forget this experience. With the view in the background of this beautiful vineyard and hearing this man talk about how he and his family hand pick the grapes themselves, and actually make the wine from start to finish themselves was surreal. I think I posted a picture of it for you to see just how beautiful this again wondering how the hell is this place even near to Cincinnati??? Finally they let us do the tasting outside because it was such a beautiful day. He told us about each wine and how it was made. I love dry wine and they had the driest wine out of all the wineries on the wine trail. Of course they did have the normal KY sweet wine but I liked one of the wines so much we bought a bottle to take home. If you decide to do the Backroads Wine Trail DO NOT miss this one. It was my favorite!!!

Wine with an amazing view? Yes please!…read more The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room knows how to make an afternoon of enjoying wine. I met my family there over the weekend for a fun lunch. The Ridge allows BYOFood, so we brought a spread. And then we bought wine from them. My favorite was the Blackberry Table Wine, which was sweet but balanced. We took over a table on the large patio that overlooks the Ohio River. And man, what a view. There was slight breeze and ample room for everyone to sit, while being socially distant. We watched barges slowly make their way down the river while we chatted and drank. And then inside, The Ridge has a small but fun gift shop. My mom and aunt bought a cheeky glass and T-shirt. The Ridge also offers tastings in case you want to try several fruit wines. I've had better wine in Kentucky/Indiana, but The Ridge's wine plus view and overall atmosphere makes this a must-visit.

I loved every wine I tried and brought several bottles home (which were consumed within a week or so). The tasting room is connected to a couple's home but it isn't weird at all (b/c I thought it would be!) It was so enjoyable to taste the wine, chat with the owners (who were hilarious and in love), then buy our glasses of wine to relax on the deck for girl talk and river views. I look forward to coming back and hope to bring my husband for a relaxing afternoon!

Visiting the area and wanted to do a wine tasting. Called them up to see if there's any particulars…read moresuch as needing a reservation or if they only offered tastings at certain times of the day. There are none. You can stop by whenever you feel the need to taste some wine, tequila or bourbon Hannah, the manger, is so sweet. She reminds me of Joanna Gaines. She's one of those people you feel like you know and want to be around. Just a beauty inside and out. She was the only one there and had a few guests to help and she said she was having a bad day but you'd never know. She made my bf and I feel more than welcome and took care of us. We got a small charcuterie with nuts, meats and cheeses and added olives. The charcuterie was not what I was expecting from a winery. It was more of an adult lunchable than charcuterie. The cheese was like that precut Cracker Barrel cheese found in the store. I would have like to have had some freshly grated parmesan or mozzarella. Something that would pair well with the wines. I'm not a fan of Swiss. Love Colby jack and cheddar but those don't really go with the wines I had. I got a flight of white wines that are numbered in my 2nd picture. They were all pretty good but 1 & 4 were my favorites. I was able to taste a new wine slush they're offering. I chose the red wine slush over the white moscato one. I fell in love with it. I tried to get one to go but was unable to due to them not having approved to go containers for them My boyfriend got a flight of premium bourbon which he enjoyed. There are lots of cosy places inside and out to sit and sip your favorite drink. We did leave with a bottle of the # 4 wine I liked and garlic sausage though. I will definitely return for a slush!!
