We r here today and the Chinese lady who is manager very Nice and friendly women and she understands concerns and prepare fresh breakfast and keeps the room quiet at night and take care of this property well.

Awful Dollar Tree used shampoo and conditioner

HANOVER HOUSE REVIEW Most of the innkeepers I've met have gotten into the business because they love hospitality, decorating a beautiful home, and cooking. Kim, the manager is not the owner and it shows. I rate her at a "C" for filling the role of front desk checkin, cook, and housekeeping. She is doing the best she can, but she does not have the right personality for the job. *Photos of property are VERY old and outdated. The exterior and interior are MUCH shabbier than shown. *The bathtub in our room was disabled even though it was shown in the photos. It was disabled because the hot water heater is not large enough! There is probably an easy solution for this problem. I chose this room, #1, and paid more because I wanted to take a bath. Was told by the manager that in the room description only a shower was mentioned. I don't feel it is my duty to check description against photo. Deceptive advertising! *Shower drain is not screwed in and leaves the drain open for injury. *Amenities are not what we are used to in this price point. The shower contained old nearly used up Dollar Tree full size shampoo and conditioner. There were extremely low quality small soaps not much bigger than a silver dollar that were difficult to hold onto. No lotion or anything else. *Hair dryer worked on low speed only. When I went to ask for a replacement I was told by the manager that for most people low speed is sufficient. REALLY??? No apology. She gave me the one out of her room after I stood there looking at her. This was a known problem and it wasn't fixed. *Very VERY hot on the main floor, too hot to be comfortable. No air conditioning. *Was told to text an hour before arrival (6pm) so she could be ready for us, but we couldn't tell what if anything had been prepared. Room was super hot and a/c had not been turned on. *Even after running for 3 hours it was still uncomfortably hot in our 2nd floor room. *Neighborhood feels quite sketchy. I wouldn't feel comfortable going out after dark at all. *No place to plug in my phone on my side of the bed. *Interior is shabby and unkempt. Microwave box was sitting on the dining room floor. Things were are messy and REALLY dusty. *Needs a THOROUGH deep cleaning. The windows in the living room were filthy. The windowsills had weeks worth of dust and at least one dead insect on them. Bathroom in our room definitely needs a deep cleaning. Dead bugs and lots of dust all over. *Breakfast is served in shifts on the half hour. The only one left when we arrived was 8:00 am. When on vacation we sleep in. This did not work for us. She finally relented and gave us 8:45. *Manager asked us to sit at dining room table for breakfast with another couple that we do not know, with way less than 6 foot proximity. Yuck! No social distancing was going to be practiced. We refused. We asked if we could take our food to our slightly cooled down room and we were told it was not allowed. She finally agreed to let us eat at a table in the living room. *Breakfast was well below average. We were served an overcooked to the point of being rubbery 1.5 egg very small pseudo-omelette. Inside was a tablespoon of veggies with a teaspoon of white cheese. No exaggeration on quantities!!! Two flavorless sausage patties. Over seasoned unmemorable breakfast potatoes. My husband who loves potatoes in nearly all forms did not eat them. *I had to really struggle to understand the manager's English. I asked her to repeat herself enough so that it became annoying. There were some things she said that I never was able to understand. *Overall the feeling we got was that they wanted to do as little as possible and spend the least amount possible on food, amenities and cleanliness, while making we the guests feel as if they really should be charging us more. *We paid nearly $200 per night for this awful place!!!

I gave this place one star because the breakfast was tasty and the manager was pleasant enough even though it was difficult to always understand her due to her Chinese accent. However this place is terrible. It is so shabby and uncared for looking. Pulling up the neighborhood is run down and sketchy. Outside of the house the beds are full of weeds and everything is messy. House looks very shabby in reality -it didn't look like that in the pictures. Everything inside was very dated. It's an old home which is charming but the decor was from 1980. I also believe 1980 was the last time The place has been dusted. Everything looks very dusty and shabby inside. The toiletries provided are the cheapest you can find on the market and the soap bar provided was the size of a quarter I have never seen one that small ever before. I felt very uncomfortable there because it was dirty and weird.I expected a beautiful home with some elegance for the price that my friend had paid. It was not cheap. Complete and total rip off. They should be ashamed.

I'd give 10 stars if I could because that's how great of an experience it was staying at this bed…read moreand breakfast in Niagara Falls. It definitely feels like a hidden gem but more people need to know about it! After searching the area for a possible hotel to stay at (and being disappointed with the results), I chanced upon The Butler House and decided to book the Regatta room for a short stay on their website. Before I arrived, the hosts Jaime and Dan reached out to verify any dietary restrictions and anything they could do to make the stay more comfortable. On the day of my first night, they also checked in on my ETA and gave me instructions for late check in which was very helpful. It's located in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. This place was made to feel like a home away from home. It felt like I was visiting a friend's house. The decor was super cozy and well maintained. Everything on the first floor was so pretty to look at, from the foyer, front porch, first floor bathroom, dining room, and front porch. In the foyer, there were snacks, fruits, coffee pods and tea bags. There was also a piano to test your musical skills if you knowhow to play. I enjoyed my time swinging on the front porch's giant swing and feeling the evening breeze as I took in how peaceful the neighborhood was. The rooms were all located on the 2nd floor of the house and come with pin pad locks which was convenient. The Regatta room was huge and also came with a sun room that had two plush couches and white curtains. It felt like the perfect place to curl up with a nice book while sipping on some hot tea. There was also a heating lamp in case it gets cold. The sun room was also the only place with USB chargers which I wish the other outlets inside the bedroom had too. Everything about the room was super clean and well kept! The bathroom was neatly decorated and there was plenty of space inside to layout my skincare bottles. There were also small hand towels, hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I really appreciated that they used regular brands like Olay and Pantene (I could tell by the smell because I use them at home too!). In the bathroom there were 4 switches (2 for lights, 1 for bathroom exhaust and the last one turned out to be for hot water which I had to figure out as I'm not used to turning on the heater like that or at all). The pressure of the water was fantastic though it was a bit small inside the shower space. They also had a lovely large bath towel and the bath robe was the cherry on top (I might get one myself). The bed was big enough for me and it was such a nice feeling to sink into a plush and soft bed after a nice hot shower. The TV had access to Disney+ shows which was nice. There was also an AC unit on the wall. I liked that all the room's light switches were right by the bed so that I could make the room as cozy as I wanted it to be. Breakfast was served at 8:30am sharp in the dining room. Tea, apple cider, orange juice and coffee were offered. The first course was Taiwanese scallion pancakes with egg and sausage on the side. It felt like a taste of home for me and an unexpected surprise in Niagara Falls. I would've liked ketchup but there was only sriracha and soy sauce. It was such a large portion I barely had space for the second course. The second course was a giant plate of blueberry crumble with whipped cream. It was quite sweet and most of the table was too full to clear their plates too. They really meant it when they mentioned that guests often don't need to eat lunch after having breakfast here! It definitely fueled me up while I was wandering Goat Island! Butler House has set the bar high in terms of any future bed and breakfast locations I might stay at!

As we entered the side entrance by the code given to us in an email as we stepped in the house we were immediately face to face to an older gentleman that popped out of the basement. Wow that was pretty scary. We immediately could smell an odor in this house. The first problem we discovered is there are 2 rooms on the ground level and 3 rooms upstairs. The gentlemen asked us our names and said your rooms are upstairs number 3 & 4. We went up a few stairs from the entrance and he pointed to the stairs to get up to our rooms. The stairs were not something a senior person would want to navigate several times a day. The carpet on the stairs oh my didn't look too clean. As you went up the stairs it got hotter and hotter. The property manager said he would ask the owner to lower the thermostat I am pretty sure that was not going to help the upstairs so it would be comfortable. They are very outdated, dark and dingy, windows so dirty you can't see through them. Ceiling fan was noisy and wobbling, it could have fallen at any minute, safe hazard. There had been plumbing work done between the tub and toilet then a piece of random board was nailed on the wall but the nails were not pounded in and the heads of the nails were sticking out they were very sharp, safe hazard. One of the rooms had no closet what so ever no place to hang a hanger anywhere. It had an old small chest of drawers that a small tv sat on top of. The tub in one of the rooms was so outdated looked like it had been there for 40 years and it looked dirty and dingy, I would not shower in that. The living room furniture old and dirty looking I would not sit on it definitely needs to be replaced. Also this is not a true B&B no meals are served you cook your own and clean up behind yourself and you can't use the kitchen before 7:00 am. We were on a once in a life time vacation to Niagara Falls thinking it would be great to stay in an B&B so we could have a space to visit in the evening after our daily adventures and have breakfast in the mornings before our daily adventures. This B&B was so smelly and dingy that our vacation would have been ruined by staying there. So glad we opted to not stay we went to hotel in Canada and had a great stay.

The house is cute and super clean. We were only here for a night but would definitely come again or recommend it to others that are staying in the area. My only "complaint" was that we stayed here in July and the windows in our room opened but there was glass over the screens so we couldn't get any air. We did have a ceiling fan in the room but it did get warm. Other than that everything was great and Niagara Falls was amazing!!

Sometimes you just get lucky!…read more We were looking for a place to drop our hat for a few days in the Falls. After having a few too many bad experiences with Hotels lately we wanted to find a quiet place to actually have a restful stay. After reading a few recent reviews on Expedia we decided to give this one a try. We showed up at the door and Maria our hostess greeted us like old friends. Enjoyed the most beautiful room with all the amenities of the best hotels. Nice Flat screen TV with over 100 channels DVD player and all. Face it, i have the most comfortable bed in the world, so i thought, until i slept on this one. Slept like a baby! The mornings breakfast was exquisite, with homemade jam, muffins, eggs, sausages...enough for an army! Made up of great conversation with our other visiting guests. We were so full we ended up having lunch at 4pm! We were on the go for pretty well the two days we stayed there so we didn't really get a chance to enjoy the relaxing old Gothic house. Would have been nice to just sit on the porch and watch the cars go by as we enjoy the view of the Niagara river. But then there's always next time. Great place just outside the noisy hustle and bustle of the falls. 10 minute walk to the main stretch and casino. Next time I'm looking for a place in the falls i know where to go. The new hosts recently bought the place from the old owners and are definitely living up to the good reviews from the past. Lin and Jin and super kind, attentive, friendly and felt like family. It was kind of sad saying goodbye to them. They would sit with you and the other guests at breakfast and get to know you and vise versa. The room and whole house was super clean, own bathrooms, snack in the upstairs hallway, free to use the living room if wanted and put things in the fridge if you needed. Always asked if we wanted to take some fruit or snacks when we were about to leave to venture the town. FREE Parking in the back of the house and about a 10-15 min walk to the main strip/ the falls. Perfect location, better than a hotel. Rooms also have WiFi and televisions. Daily towel exchange if you want it, as well. The breakfast was also good and they also made sure to ask if anyone had any allergies so they knew what to cook or not. Jin and Lin really made you feel welcomed and at home and I wish them the best in continuing this bed and breakfast. The only negative I have is that the only number to reach them at is the house phone and when we arrived early we tried to call and they weren't home, so they obviously couldn't answer and we had to explore before unpacking, but were super nice upon meeting I couldn't even be mad or annoyed Will recommend to everyone I know
