I explained to him that I brought 2 pieces of window pain glass to be used as templates to cut 2 replacements for the broken ones on my outside post light , the young man said, "there's plenty of people out back and should be able to cut them right up for you". Awesome customer service, which I have received over the years at Abby Glass, both large and small jobs. Well here's where things went drastically wrong, resulting in a 1 star post. Out of nowhere comes a female authoritative figure stating, " if you didn't by it here, or we cut it wrong, it will be 1 -2 weeks " so I as any customer, took it as if she was basically saying ,"I don't want your business". Well both the young fellow and I were taken aback by her statement, to kind of smooth things over, he replied, "probably has to do with the pandemic or something ". The kid was polite and really trying, it turned awkward for both of us and I felt bad for him having 2 sons roughly his age. Keep in mind I live on Cape Cod and numerous times through out the years I've fought summer traffic to get good service, heck I pass at least 3 glass company competitors for Abby's service, not the darn glass, heck I can get that at HD. Which is not only within sight of Abby glass, it is on my way home. In and out of HD in exactly 21 minutes (Thanks to digital watch) . Heck , I bought the glass from them and they cut it for me for free ! Hence the lack of customer service on behalf of the little guy in many cases is why the so called " Ma and Pa " owned operations are fading away. It's not that their products are unique, it's the "hassle-free/personal service " that is what gives you the "edge " over the Big Box store , without it , well...

Weird but fine, if the text etiquette is on point. His was a mess. He asks me to take pictures inside and out, of the windows. Ok sure, but I'm one town over and you could just pop by. He asks what I want, I say picture windows. He sends me a picture of double hang and says he recommends them. Don't need them. Then he just TEXTS me a price range. Red flag. Where's your quote with the type of door being used? Also, the number is high. I ask for the SKU to look it up on my own. He sends me a generic link to an affiliate landing page for DOUBLE HUNG DOORS. Ok, so here's where you have to use your best judgement. These guys have great ratings on multiple pages, so they obviously do excellent installs. But that doesn't mean they aren't ripping people off, because you can get similar work done for MUCH cheaper. That's where I got him, bc he wasn't willing to disclose where his range was coming from and then immediately tried to pass me off to Renweal by Anderson, which is widely known as THE biggest price-hike in the game. The safe bet with them is whatever they quote you initially is about double what it should actually cost. So it makes sense the owner thought it's a reasonable peer in the industry. Then he weirdly started text-harassing me when I passed on his offer. Piss off.
