Which means they'll all love and do a great job working on your wedding, too. I found Lisa b/c we had settled on Darlington House as a venue, so I called them to ask for their favorite planners / recommendations, and Lisa's name was one of the few they gave me. I ended up interviewing 3 wedding planners in San Diego, and loved them all and (before I met them) wondered how I would know which to choose. One of my best friends (who is also a wedding planner) told me, when I asked her the best way to pick a planner, she said: "You have to go with your gut. Who is the person you want handling &$#^ when it goes wrong that day? Because something always will. Who is the person you feel the most comfortable with and who has your back?" - and I met with great 3 planners, and Lisa was the resounding YES for me. There was no contest, even though I really did LOVE the other girls I met with. Lisa for sure flies under the radar - so you can't gage her talent or how amazing she'll be for your wedding by her Insta page (which is beautiful but not updated like, 19x a day) because we all know that the Insta-facade is a sham. I chose the "Month-Of" package because I'm a nerd and Interior Designer so I thought, how hard can this be? It's cool, I'll "plan" it myself and let her handle the month-of. Except I found myself CONSTANTLY having to ask her advice, because no matter how many color palettes or pretty inspiration boards you can put together, it really has nothing to do with your day actually coming to fruition and going off without a hitch the way you want it to. You just don't know what you don't know, and I now have such a greater respect for the insane amount of tacit knowledge and finesse you have to have to be an event coordinator. I met with Lisa almost a year ago and have been in contact with her ever since we hired her for our 4.4.20 wedding. Which - we just had to reschedule thanks to Coronavirus. She could not have been more supportive, empathetic, flexible or wonderful in working with us to find a new date. She is indispensable to us - if she hadn't been available on our rescheduled date, we would've picked another time. We were also so close to going thru with the wedding that I was already into the thick of my "month-of" with her, and she's so low maintenance that (my Type A / controlling self) would go to follow-up on things and the vendors would be like, "oh you know what, LISA actually worked that out with us! We love her so we made an exception for (whatever you wanted) - you're good!" - not that that happens in every situation but goes to show she has SUCH great relationships with all the other (amazing) wedding vendors (all the ones you'll want to work with) with that everyone is delighted when you tell them she's your planner, because she is so well-respected and beloved in that community.

Lacking crucial wedding industry knowledge, and working full-time quickly made us realize we needed help! We met with several wedding planners, who were all great, but once we met Lisa we knew she was the one! Lisa immediately felt like family, someone you could trust, someone who listened and asked all the right questions. She always has your best interest in mind and is always there to remind you that everything will be okay. We selected the "wedding planning assistance" package because we truly needed all the help we could get! I would HIGHLY recommend this package to anyone because wedding planning is truly a marathon and Lisa is your coach during the whole process. She helps you sort out all the details that you don't even realize you need to think about. Right away, she came up with a game plan that prioritized our budget. She recommended vendors who, on our wedding day, delivered top-tier service. She is well-connected within the San Diego wedding industry and is beloved by these vendors, and I understand why. She attended vendor meetings with us and made sure the vendors understood our vision all while remaining cost-conscious. Did I mention she helped us stay within our budget?! Bailey and I frequently communicated with Lisa, asking her all kinds of questions. She responded quickly and offered incredible advice when we were torn between certain decisions. Lisa is so positive, always smiling, and constantly reassures you that your special day will turn out beautiful. AND IT WILL, in large part, due to her execution on the day of. Wedding planning isn't just Lisa's business, it goes deeper than that - it's her passion. During the whole planning process, we felt just how much she cared about making our wedding day special for us. Bailey and I agree that our wedding day was the best day of our lives! Everything flowed so smoothly, she made sure we stuck to the timeline all while ensuring we did not miss special moments with our guests. She is a people person who knows how to execute a timeline and tie all the small details together. We cannot recommend Lisa enough!!

The week leading up to the big day, she took care of all those nagging little details with finesse. I had a couple of annoying vendor things come up and she stepped in and straightened everything out for me! It was great that I didn't have to deal with it when I had family flying in from all over the world! She has an incredible attention to detail and went through my catering contract with a fine-toothed comb, finding weird little mistakes they made that I never would have noticed! Awesome! She also has a very artistic/creative eye and set up my venue/ceremony spot beautifully. I was a total ditz on my wedding day, and she kept me on-track and on-time the entire day. It was so great to not have to think; she did it for me! :) I recommended her to a friend who is getting married and she is kicking butt on her wedding, too! To top it all off, you couldn't meet a sweeter gal. I just adore her. If you are getting married, I couldn't recommend Erin highly enough.

Kimberly took the time to sit down with us and our wedding planners to ensure her vision matched not only what we had pictured for our wedding day but also what our planner was putting together. Her ability to provide florals for an immense variety of locations and needs is a testament to her skill and eye for design. Not only did she handle classic bouquets, center pieces, and boutonnieres, she also created beautiful flower boxes and a wonderful floral piece for the wood house we were married under. She knows all wedding events like the back of her hand (including showers, bachelorette's, and rehearsals) so her clarity of organization on the timeline and all supplies needed is like second nature at this point. - Negotiator extraordinaire: Need to find a 9 seater limo for 5 hours on a budget? This lady will find the classiest joint within reason and barter them down to your limit! I needed this exact limo for my sister's bachelorette and she worked magic to price compare and organize it into perfect fruition. To this day I have no idea how she accomplished this, since I had called 3-4 other places and had no luck myself. - Listens to your opinions: If there is something you really want or really hate, she prioritizes your preferences. Sometimes a planner can make your voice feel minimized, but Catherine works over time to incorporate your vision into a practical application. That's not to say that she will let you make bad decisions-- if something is just not feasible, you can count on her to get you the very closest to your ideal as physically possible. - Highly organized: Do you need a layout of your reception area? She will use public google images as a base to manually draw in where each of your guest tables and buffet lines will go. Need a timeline about what will happen on the big day? She made a color-coded itinerary with action items bolded so you can easily glance down at the important parts. The best part about this is that it's not a chore for her-- she is a complete natural at making things organized and maximally aesthetically pleasing given her previous background as an architect. - Dependable: if things start to go south, Catherine is the first one on the job to straighten out any problems. She will be on the phone in an instant to make sure that vendors are pulling through, and if they don't, she has backup solutions on hand. Are you off the timeline due to unforeseen circumstances? Then she is already in contact with everyone else who may be affected to make sure appropriate communication happens. Don't worry- she arrived at least 10 minutes early to everything and has already convinced your venue staff to give you extra services you didn't know were available! Overall 5 out of 5 stars, I would pay Catherine to organize my finances during tax season and also redecorate my house if she would do it for me. This lady is just a fabulous organizer with great design taste!
