This meat looked fresh on the outside, but the inside was rotten and gray, it smelled rotten too. The problem is, this has happened before. I speculate they take rotten meat and wrap fresh meat around it before the ground it to hide the rotten stuff. My dogs wouldn't even eat it. Hannaford you can do better. read more

Love this place! Employees are pleasant. Produce is as fresh as it gets. I like to pack my freezer when meat sales are on, which is just about every week (need a bigger freezer!). I don't understand other reviewers complaints. Also, store is clean! read more

I am not sure if my difficulties with Hannaford are COVID related or Bezos induced. Favorite brands have disappeared. Clearly they must be vegetarians because the meat department is the least understood of all the departments. My bill for groceries is at least 20% higher than everywhere around. From paying attention to a guy who has made his money selling everything to everyone there seems to be an unwillingness to offer choice to the customer. So now this organization is buying up every grocery distribution outlet he can get his hands on. Once he zeroes in on a great product he transfers availability to Amazon only and jacks up the price. Again killing free enterprise. I find the "help" wonderful. That's why the two stars. read more

Hannaford: the perfect example of GREED. this place has prices similar to Beverly Hills in California and the service at the Deli is atrocious..I've done a little experiment over the last 4 months and almost 90% of the time I have not received the amount of cold cuts I asked for, sometimes a 1/4 pound more than i wanted. now its not a huge catastrophe, but with their ridiculous, over the edge prices for basic things it IS a big deal since there are really no millionaires around here by the looks of these people. read more

This Hannaford is always clean, shelves are well stocked and employees are always kind, courteous and helpful. The pharmacy staff are my favorite staff in the store, they are patient, helpful and always genuinely interested in helping customers. read more

Went shopping at Hannafords this AM. While there's lots there you'd better make sure you know the rules. Otherwise you'll be sent to the manager. We bought the one package limit of TP and paper towels. Remember-U cannot by two 6 packs of either but you can buy one 12 pack. Go figure? We checked the TP out last. The machine would not let us purchase it. Y? Because we had also purchased wipes or napkins. There are no signs posted saying you may buy one or the other. I am willing to play by the rules, but rules need to be clearly posted. While there are signs that say you may only be able to purchase one, there needs to be a sign that says OR this OR that. Maybe it sounds petty, but with everything else that we need to comply with doesn't it make sense to have a sign explaining what the rules are? It would not only help the customers but also the employees. read more

I shop at Hannafords frequently and I'm always impressed with the staff, especially lately with all that's going on. They are cheerful, helpful and efficient. Sometimes I go to the Modena store and there's a big difference. I do understand that times are tough right now but the contrast is amazing. I am disgusted by the lazy service at Hannaford in Pine Bush. One time, the cashier watched me bag all the groceries, and didn't bother to point out some bottles that rolled away. I didn't realized until I was home. Just before Thanksgiving, the same unhelpful kid let me do all the bagging, and in the rush, I left a bag behind. I called when I got home, and was told that the contents had already been re-shelved, and I would have to shop all over again to retrieve my items. What is the point of customer service if not to help out? read more

I have been shopping at Hannaford in Pine Bush, NY for years. 4 weeks ago I was surprised at the lack of social distancing by Management alone as they stood around and was scared to go back, however decided I would give it one more chance. One week later I was happy to see that all of a sudden signs were up, plexiglass was up at the registers, arrows in the aisles, etc.... I still found it amazing that about 20% of the customers couldn't read a damn sign and are going the wrong way. Governor Cuomo on 4/17/2020 passed law that EVERYONE was to wear masks in stores, in public, etc... when they could not practice social distance. AS A MATTER of fact, the majority of the stores that I go to (CVS, etc...) you are NOT ALLOWED in without a mask - period!! I go to Hannaford today, and do my shopping. I'm in the fresh produce area and all of a sudden I see a woman in her late 50's SNIFFING/SMELLING BREAD and has NO MASK, NO GLOVES. I watched her for a second and she continued to pick up other items while handling them, rubbing them and SMELLING THEM. Other people were backing up from her. I am 100% NON-CONFRONTATIONAL, but I have lost a friend to COVID, and know OVER 25 people w/COVID!!! I confronted her about no mask. Her response was "oh, guess I forgot it. What are you gonna do about it?" I think one woman left! I had actually finished, but I found someone working and told her about it. She said sheepishly "Oh, we can't really do anything and we're not allowed to enforce it. It's her right not to wear a mask!" Are you serious!!?? When I went up front, there she was standing where she WASN'T SUPPOSED TO!!! The cashier up there DID ASK whey she wasn't wearing a mask and told her she was supposed to be. As I watched her, she didn't respond. THIS IS WHY NYS IS A MESS RIGHT NOW!! Hannaford has lost a customer in me permanently and I have told many of my friends who've said they refuse to go!!! I could not believe they would not confront her!! I will say the worker did say "WE have to wear mask to protect ourselves!" Really, but you don't want to enforce protecting ALL the customers that shop in your store!! WOW!! I thought we were all in this together. read more

This Hannaford is a great place to shop. Employees' are down-home friendly and helpful. Their produce section couldn't be any fresher and I have never purchased a bad piece of meat (I have at Walmart - will never buy meat there again)!! I took one star off only because it seems whenever a new product hits the shelves, I can't find my items that I like and buy regularly (like ERA detergent - why do we need two long shelves filled with Tide detergent?) There can't be enough customers in this little town that ALL buy Tide! Selection may be due to this store being one of their smaller ones, giving them limited shelf space. Otherwise, it's a great store. It's a very pleasant shopping experience. read more
