As a customer- I will give Hank's Auto Service + 1 5 Smiley faces are better than 5 stars
*SHOUT OUT TO ALL WHO LOVE GREAT & FAIR AUTO REPAIR SHOPS!* Went to [HANK'S AUTO SERVICE (AUTO REPAIR)] today in BETHLEHEM, PA and was stunned by the GREAT service both I and my TRUCK received! First off, let me start by saying that when its the OWNER of the shop the greets you at the door and puts your vehicle on the lift, YOU KNOW YOU MUST HAVE GONE TO THE RIGHT PLACE! Next Mr.. Hank himself , was the one who did the work to my vehicle ( of course all great people need helpers & which he had 2 there working on other vehicles) and even did necessary repairs that WERE NOT quoted in the price that was given to me by his grandson GABRIELLE. In my opinion and experience , if someone is providing you with a service , they usually only do what's quoted or asked of them ( and then always tell you that you need something else or that it's going to cost more than originally stated) and nothing more without a hefty fee. BUT NOT TODAY FOLKS! TODAY, I WAS BLESSED WITH AN HONEST, HARD-WORKING MAN WHO ONLY WANTED TO ENSURE MY SAFETY ON THE ROAD!
BY -THE WAY HERE'S SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERY DAY - THE WHOLE TIME MY TRUCK WAS GETTING SERVICED WE WERE LISTENING TO SOME MUSIC ON MY LAPTOP ( WHICH WAS HANKS IDEA). If any of you folks haven't heard "I LOVED HER FIRST" By "HEARTLAND" take a second and listen to it. You just might like it !
Once my truck was up on the lift my interaction with Hank did not end there. He called me over to show me where the problem was. He spoke to me (not at me) in a way that was easy to understand & he took the time to explain how it was not only my pan gasket that was causing the gear oil leak, but also that the actual cover plate itself had a tiny crack in it. So he busied himself with smoothing down the cover and then repairing it back to "good as new" so to speak. With the plate off, inside cleaned out, new gasket in, repaired cover and new fluids added and everything all tightened down, he was just about to call the mission a success but, I had a couple questions for him.
While the truck was still in the air I wanted to see if he could tell me what I'd been hearing when I shifted gears from drive to reverse. Before I could describe what I heard and felt he said, "does it make a clanking noise?" That's precisely what I'd been hearing so I told him that my Fiancee thought it could be the u-joint. Hank showed me where the universal joint was (he started turning something under the truck to tell if it needed replaced) but assured me as he was also showing me that it was good -to-go. With it not being the u-joint that was making that noise , he said it's in the rear-end. I guess it's pretty common in those style trucks but, he told me not to worry about it because it's not to the point of going all the way out. It just started that clanking a couple months ago and according to him, it takes quit a long time for a rear-end to go out.
There's the point that I hoped to get out to all of you- Hank's Auto Service is not out to take any hard earned dollars from those who come to him for help. Hank will fix what needs fixing, then fix anything that could be a dangerous situation for you , and will also inspect that vehicle to ensure your on-going safety on the road. NOW THAT'S A MECHANIC! But more than that, that's a DECENT HUMAN BEING and that's the way we were intended to be! So if you're ever in the area and could use some auto repairs, head down to HANK'S AUTO SERVICE
