So after issues with the other Mavis location in Bethlehem (schoenersville rd) where they installed the wrong type of battery in my car!! I was told in order to resolve the issue I would have to take it to a different location (this one on Stefko blv). They were understanding and friendly and They took it back fairly quick to work on it. Hopefully this is the last time I have to return so soon to a Mavis because it's been a very stressful experience. I'm worried about the quality of work but Iguess only time will tell once I drive the car a bit more. I'm a bit jaded from my experience at the other location so it was alarming to look over at the garage and see them removing all my tires when I just had it completely looked over at the other place I just was here for them to put the correct battery in and resolve the issue that hassle has caused. They were nice and compensated the difference in battery cost due to the other store's mess up so I can say thank you for that and talking responsibility read more

Drove car home went to work next morning drove above 60mph had severe shaking went home took all the wheels off to find my front left driver wheel spacer missing to my after market wheels. They wanted me to drive the car unsafely to them to see when I told them I changed the rims to another set I have that are safe with spacers. Ultimately they could do nothing for me. I asked how long and was told let me check. 40 minutes later I was told it would take 90 to 120 minutes with another customer ahead of me....so much for my 11am appointment. Short story: brought my car in for new tires, nothing wrong with the vehicle 30K miles. Left with "christmas lights" and told to drive the vehicle and the lights will turn off. 500 miles later they are still on and now my car is sitting in the Honda dealership. They are also accusing me of driving off with a sensor they think they left in my car. Long Story: Mavis said my lugs were stripped and needed to be replaced for $20. Scheduled it to be done the next day. Came back and asked to come back the following day. Bill was almost $200 (what happened to the $20??). When I picked up the car, the manager told me all the lights on my dash are lit up but there are no codes coming up and the car is fine the lights will go off as I drive a little bit. Next day the lights are still on, I call and speak to another manager who said he would have told me to bring the car to Honda instead. Puts the original manager on the phone who assures me the car is fine and he had another customer with the same issue who had to drive 150 miles before it went off. I asked to bring my car back in for them to take another look. I brought it in the next day and again they said no codes are popping up for them and the car is fine to drive. 500 miles later the lights are still on. Brought my car to Honda this morning to see how much I need to pay Honda to turn the lights off that Mavis made turn on. Again I only brought the car in for new tires to be installed. I have 14 warning lights on. Mavis refuses to take responsibility for returning my car to me in a condition in which it was not turned over to them. AND I now have to pay the dealer to figure out what Mavis did. When I picked up my car the manager made it a point to tell me that I should give my service technician Victor raving reviews because he is trying to work his way up in the company. So thanks Victor for turning on my Christmas lights in January, I guess. Twice after this I was called by two different managers because they think they left their sensor in my car, I checked twice and they did not. The manager Ryan accused me, saying 3 of his technicians saw me drive away. Note: they told me the vehicle was done and I drove away. I didn't jump in and they waved me off. If 3 techs saw me drive away with the sensor in my car, why wouldn't someone have called me right away. My car is the last car it was used on so they claim it's still in my car. I don't appreciate being falsely accused of theft after having my car damaged by them with no attempt to rectify other than checking the codes. Update: Mavis damaged one of the wheel speed sensors while they were servicing my vehicle. They told me to bring the vehicle back the them. Had to fight with the manager Ryan and got nowhere other than him saying "I told you it might be the wheel speed sensor"... Okay, then when I brought it back to you why would you not check that? Only hook it up and show no codes. The managers try to do their job but this is not the place to take a machine that costs 10s of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, the customer service was awful and I never write reviews anywhere. Whether service or quality was bad, I never wrote a review but here I am because this qualifies for a negative review. I made an appointment with Mavis Tires for four new tires and an inspection. I ordered the tires from Mavis, and when I showed up for my appointment at 9am, they couldn't find my name. I searched for my confirmation, and there was no Mavis Tires confirmation, but there was a Jack Williams confirmation. They tell me I've shown up to the wrong store, but it's the "same thing" because they had bought out Jack Williams. They say Jack Williams will install my tires and there is no inspector at Jack Williams today so I have to bring my car back to Mavis once they're done to get it inspected. I didn't receive one call from Jack Williams all day, I called around 4:30pm and they said they had been calling me all day (I have zero missed calls) and he told me "Hear I'll call you right now," he calls me over another phone and lets me hear it go straight to voicemail. I say "Oh weird.. okay, well I have zero missed calls," and he says "Well check your voicemail." There were no voicemails either, I go forward in paying so they can bring my vehicle to Mavis for an inspection but they close at 6pm. I got a call from Mavis around 5:45pm where the woman I spoke with in the morning told me I didn't have everything they needed to complete an inspection, I asked what was missing and she sassed me saying how would she know what is needed. Then I continued to tell her I wouldn't be able to make it before they closed and I would pick my car up tomorrow... she then told me she thinks it's "stupid," to just pick my car up tomorrow after having my car in for hours without inspection. I let her know that is what I'll be doing and that is exactly what I did. I'll give my money to where I should have gone in the first place, Angels Auto. Cheers guys... read more

I definitely do not recommend Mavis, especially not the Stefko Blvd shop. They put on 4 new tires and a day after I got the car back I realized they left one of my stud lugs off my wheel. Turns out they stripped it and left it out hoping I would not notice. After arguing with them, they finally agreed to replace the wheel bearing at their cost. THEN, I get my car back and now my ABS and Traction Control sensor lights are on. When I took it back, they said it takes up to 50 miles for it to clear which is baloney. Again, they suggested it was my fault and only after I complained to regional management did they agree to fix their second mistake at cost. I insisted on taking it to a different shop other than Stefko. Still waiting for resolution. Sorry - but stay away from Stefko Mavis. read more

I went in for a car inspection and new tires. They gave me an estimate of $1100.00 then called me and said I needed my front and back breaks done the cost an additional 399 each. I was told I wouldn't pass inspection so I needed this done, I asked if they had any discounts and they said we don't we are already giving you the best price. Come to find out they had a coupon on their website for $149.00. They also gave me tires that looked worn down and used. I left there paying $1947.00. I'm sitting here looking at my car finished in the parking lot and no one has informed me yet. The mechanic tried to sell me services I need but I said I'd rather have my family mechanic do it. He made a lot of rude pushy jokes that made me uncomfortable about not buying the services saying him and his coworkers children can share bread for dinner. I won't be returning here. The jokes weren't the most annoying part. It's the fact that my car is finished and I'm being made to sit and wait for no reason. It was supposed to be a 30 minute flat repair and I've been here for almost two hours... Mavis's website is difficult to navigate, so when we finally could reserve tires, we made an appt. When we arrived, we were shocked to see absolutely no COVID precautions in place. No one was wearing masks, seats were in groups, no separation, and no Plexiglass between customer and representative. Nothing! The "manager" Guiseppe was nearly nonverbal, muttering many responses and offering no help. We left without tire installation. Rude, unhelpful, and really, no safety precautions? I arrived for my appointment and was told they were still doing 9am appointments. I asked what the point of making an appointments was and I was told there is a (3) hour window. Would post no stars if I could. Stay away from Mavis on Stefko Blvd as they scam their customers and provide awful customer service. Had my car in for inspection on 9/1 and they failed me for the rear brakes. When Chris called my wife, he stated the front brakes. Upon my call to question this as the brakes only had 30k of highway driving on them, Chris said that it was instead the rear brakes and that they had less than 3/32 of life left so they failed. They quoted me over $300 for new rear brakes and due to the price, I decided to just put new pads on myself for $40, plus I was curious as to the actual remaining life. As I replaced the rear pads, I noticed that the pads still had roughly 6/32, which is half the life of a pad as they start at 12/32 (ordered one of the brake measurement tools to confirm). I called Mavis and spoke to Chris, he was extremely unhelpful and when I asked to leave my number for Travis (the general manager) he stated that I should call him on Tuesday when he was in instead of leaving a message as messages get lost and won't get to him. I asked once again to leave my number. I decided to just put the new pads on anyways as I already had the car apart and figured I might as well in case I was missing something. Tuesday came and went with no call. I called on Thursday, 9/16, and spoke to Travis. I explained the story up to that point and he assured me that the brakes had to have failed for some reason as the inspector is meticulous and doesn't make those mistakes. He recommended I come in on a day that both Travis and the inspector were there so that they could assess the situation. He also said to just give a call when I was heading over. Last night, 9/23, I called Travis ahead of time and gave him a heads up that I was coming over and was an hour away so that they were not caught off guard and had time to prepare. Upon arrival around 6:10, Travis processed my information again (which they should have already had on file). He then looked at the pads and the one he picked up said it looked low. Around 6:30, they then had a gentleman who was not working on the cars (cleaner clothes) pull my car into the garage. The inspector then started looking at the rear brakes only with a flashlight and eventually took the left rear off the car I guess to check the pads (although he never took the right side tire off or inspected thoroughly). After a little while of the Travis and the inspector talking by my car, Travis came in and said that the reason the pads failed were for uneven wear and that they were "wedge shaped" (which I assure was furthest from the truth). I explained to him that isn't what Chris said on the phone originally, and now the story has now changed. I also questioned if this was a reason for failing brakes for the slightest amount of uneven wear. He responded yes and then said he's going to get the sticker on it and finish it up. During this time, I pulled up the PA DOT's document on reasons for failing a car for brakes and it says nothing about uneven wear, only for "inspect the lining to see if it is broken, not firmly attached, or contaminated with oil, grease, or any other substances that would affect operation. Bonded linings must be no less than 2/32 of an inch...". When Travis came in again, I showed him this and he stated that the inspector has been through all the classes and knows the reasons for failing a car. I asked Travis if he thought this seemed funny that the story changed and now they're still trying to justify failing me for something that isn't accurate. He did not have anything else to say. Realizing I was not getting anywhere with these guys, I decided to just leave and find a way to contact customer service. Around 7:10, The inspector pulled my car out of the garage and left it in the middle of the parking lot. I paid for my sticker and left. Upon getting in my car, the windows were left down while it was raining, there was dirt all over my seats, and the car's emergency brake was not engaged and started to roll when I got in (manual transmission). A minute or two prior to my car being pulled out, another customers car was brought out and they rolled the windows up. I reached out to my buddy who is a car fanatic and asked him if he's ever heard of failing for uneven wear. He reached out to his shop who is a certified inspection station and confirmed this is not a reason for failing. Measured wrong, poor customer service, scamming customers into sales, and the inconvenience from this experience. I really would like something done about this as I am extremely upset and will continue to post poor reviews until someone contacts me about this. read more

Had a 9 am appointment I made on their web site for 4 new truck tires. I was told it would take about 2-1/2 hours so I got picked up. Came back 3 hours later and only 2 tires were put on. The Manager couldn't give me a good reason for the long delay. It ended up taking another hour for the remaining two. One hour per tire...really? They did have the best price for the tires I chose and did suggest signing up for the Mavis credit card which enabled me to payoff the bill in 6 months with no interest so I wasn't as upset about the delay. They should have called though to at least mention it would take longer. read more

I went to get my car inspected on Friday. It did not pass because of the tires. I had just been in few weeks before for an oil change and tire rotation. They indicated on the receipt that the tires were fine. I asked for a quote of four tires from STS. They gave me three ranging from five fifty to over six hundred. I questioned that I needed tires, especially the rear ones as they indicated. I told them that I wanted to go home and check other places for tires. I called Firestone, the tire brand that I got a quote from STS, and they were nearly two hundred dollars less. I got my tires at Firestone. Usually the staff at STS will tell me about any coupons or specials that were running. They did not this time even though on the website they had tire specials running. They also failed to tell me that I could use an alignment. When I went to Firestone, I did not tell them any thing about my experience at STS, I asked about how much a synthetic oil change would cost. I told them that I used Quaker State. The price he quoted, and gave me in writing, was $20 less. I no longer trust this STS and will most likely NOT use them again after nearly twenty years of going to STS to get my car serviced. read more

Took my car to get my rear wheel plugged and was done pretty quick I pull off the lot and then my beed popped in my front tire which was fairly new then when I told them what happened as I was stuck across the street they then told me to drive back on just a rim which I wasn't willing to do on my aftermarket rims. I really like STS Tires in Bethlehem. I'm from NYC, and I usually have basic service done there when I'm in the area (I travel to Bethlehem quite often for a weekend away from NYC). And when I purchase a used car I usually stop by them for new rubber. Picked up a new-used car last week in Philly, drove it to Bethlehem ans stopped my STS the next day for new tires, an oil change, wheel alignment, and to have a pulsating brake pedal looked at. The prices on the tires were more than fair. Name brand tires mind you (Firestone), not some never heard of made in God knows where garbage. 70,000 mile tread life on the tires for $119 a piece (price included mounting and balancing). Oil change was a bit on the pricey side, but had it done regardless to save me the hassle of going elsewhere. My brake issue turned out to be just having to have my rotors and drums cut, and one wheel cylinder replaced. Other shops would have gouged me for a complete brake job. Wheel alignment - done PERFECTLY!! Car is straight as an arrow. Plus I get a free tire rotation once a year for free. PS: I am a mechanic myself. Obviously I don't carry my tools with me when I go to pick up a car. But I know when a shop is shady or honest. These guys are as honest as they come. I highly recommend STS tires in Bethlehem on Stefko Blvd. Honest, reasonably priced, and very efficient in how they work. With all I had done, I was out of there in about three hours - the majority of the time being the time it takes to cut the rotors and drums. Keep up the good work guys!! Caution attempted robbery!!! I wish I could give it 0 stars! They did an inspection on my Chevy Equinox and the mechanic explained to me how my power steering fluid was completely broken down and caused my steering column to break. Come to find out after I got a second opinion, that my model vehicle DOESNT EVEN HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID! It's an electronic brake system and the steering column was fine with no wear at all! The total charges for the phantom repairs was around $640! When I contacted them they told me I was lying to them even though the mechanic wrote down the estimate and work order for me to take home. Do yourself a favor and go to ACTUAL mechanics, not these thieves. read more

BEWARE! If I could rate this less than one star I would. Complete waste of my time. For several days I was told leave my car there they might be able to get to it. This wasn't a option for me. I finally got a concert appointment time and was told they would still honor my original quote. I arrived at the time and spoke to "Joe" the manager on staff. He said they couldn't honor my original quote and that they might not get to it today as he was short staff. At that point I was done and left. I made an appointment with a competitor down the street and an hour later I had my new tire mounted and installed. This was the single worst experience I've had with a repair shop. The manager was very friendly and gave me a price that was more than affordable. The kid that installed the tires was very efficient and did a great job. My girlfriend went here to get two new tires and an inspection. The man that was working was incredibly unprofessional. She was told that the work would be done that day and that he would give her a call when it was finished. She was forced to call 30 minutes before closing, after the car was there for around 6 hours. By far the worst experience I've had at a mavis after years of using them. I am on vacation from out of town. My tire had a small hole in it that needed to be patched. I stopped by at 8:30 in the morning to get my tire fixed. They warned me that it would be an hour. I went and sat at the dunkin across the street for an hour to read and get a cup of coffee. After an hour I came back and the tire still wasn't ready. After 2 hours I brought up the fact that I was waiting for so long to no avail. All in all it's 1:23 and I am still waiting for the car. The staff was unhelpful, rude, and incredibly short. I am furious that I had to spend a majority of my planned vacation time sitting waiting for a simple fix. At least the home and garden network was on so I could watch people receive actual good service for their needs. read more
