My personal rule of thumb is that if I don't smell que on the premises I'm not interested. The scent picked up more so when we walked through the door where we were greeted by the hostess. We also met the owner Mr. Myron Waters who we chopped it up with for several minutes before we ever ordered. He gave us his vision for his business and his background and it was impressive as well as extensive! I had to leave my wife talking as I wanted to order. Having seen a social media post by a guy known as 'Big Den Den', I ordered the Big Den Den special. Not a purveyor of red meat or pork, I opted to swap my 2 slices of brisket for 3 additional wings *total of six* and turkey tips, baked beans and potato salad. We also got the mix sauce which was exceptionally good! My wife also opted for the BDD Special which each cost $20. and it's a lot of food IMHO and upon our departure we were gifted 2 banana puddings. Once home we got situated and blessed the food and dug in. All the meats were moist, flavorful, smokie and tender. The sauce was very very good and now that I know, I'll have the sauce on the meat instead of on the side. The baked beans were really really good and to me, not everyone can do bake beans that everyone can enjoy but these were really good! The potato salad was good too! I think from a personal taste I'd add a little sugar to it but overall I couldn't complain. Will we be back? Absolutely we will. Mr. Myron has a good thing going and he's trying to do it right. My spirit of discernment says that he believes in himself, family, providing a great product to the people at a reasonable price point and the service and hospitality incorporated will bring people back. I told Myron if I didn't like the product I would say so and he asked that I personally come to him and tell him what I didn't like or what could be done better so he can make changes. A lot of owners don't care or at least don't extend the offer to receive input, but he gave me his contact info and I told him that I would. I shared the venue to members of my neighborhood board meeting, as well as some other friends. Fortunately I have some leftovers that have been calling my for several hours now and I plan to warm it up and indulge myself again. As a reference to Smokie Waters location, as you travel west o. 38th street from Georgetown, look for the Planet Fitness and when you see it turn right and then a quick right, straight to their adjacent parking area with the gym. Check them out and thank me later.

I ordered a pork chop, and two pieces of fried chicken, with baked beans and mac & cheese. It took about 20 minutes for for my food to get ready. I could not wait to get home to eat it so, I dug in on my drive my. The pork chops and chicken were really good. They had a home cooked taste and were seasoned perfectly. I really liked them. The baked beans were also really good, but they were cold. The mac and cheese was ok, definitely was not my favorite. Smokey Blue is a newcomer to downtown Indy's Statehouse Market, a weekly market occurring each…read moreThursday during Summer and early Fall at the Indiana Government Center. Smokey Blue, as you can probably guess, is a BBQ food truck with a menu that includes sandwiches (chicken, brisket, hot honey chicken, and pulled pork. The BBQ is Texas Style. They also offer So-Cal Burritos (I don't recall these being on the menu today, though I'll also admit I wasn't looking for them). Each sandwich offers a side and I also received a slice of corn bread. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken comes with either regular or spicy sauce. I opted for regular, however, in the future would probably go for spicy. Because of a work meeting during lunch, I hit the market early during the 10:30am-1:30pm hours. This isn't my favorite thing to do as trucks are typically still getting set up and meals can feel either rushed or incomplete. This was kind of true here as fries were not yet ready and with several people waiting it seemed a bit rushed. The nicely seasoned fries were good, however, they stuck together a bit. The people are very friendly here. There's an obvious desire to connect with customers. It also appears to be faith-based/inspired as there's a Scripture on the food truck. Smokey Blue also offers loaded fries, loaded mac, wings, and pork nachos. Like most food trucks, I do think some of the items are sporadically available. You can also get bottled water and soft drinks in can (Coke Products). I did also see one dessert on the menu - Smoked Apples with Brown Sugar, drizzled with Dulce de Leche and a delightful crumble on top on top of our own Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I did not see them today, however, I'll likely try them in the future. I have a feeling this was somewhat hindered by my arriving early. This was a very solid 4-star, however, I can't quite get myself to go 5-star. Service was great, food was good, and prices were consistent with most food trucks. I will definitely return, however, I'll likely wait for them to get a bit more settled and not try to do lunch at 10:45am. Smokey Blue also offers catering and will appear at special events. Lots to love here - I look forward to returning in the future and hopefully forking over that fifth star!

I love that FatMans BBQ tells a story. I paid $24 online for the rib tip dinner with two sides. You do have to purchase bread if you want it which is $0.68 I believe. You can get the sauce on the side or on the meat as well. I like that they wrap everything up so it does not spill or lose heat. Very smart. Can't wait to try more things on the menu. They have many options and turkey options for the people who don't eat pork or beef. Can't wait to try more and the desserts. The ribs are delicious and the sauce is perfect. I got mixed hot and mild. The greens are a bit salty and the Mac and cheese is missing something. It could use some seasoning but not bad. Better than a lot of Mac and cheese I've had in Indy. The wings were incredible, super meaty with a perfectly crunchy coating and great flavor. There were about 7 or 8 pieces and they were all solid. I even had leftovers and they reheated really well in the air fryer. The corndog was also really good, cheesy inside with crispy potatoes on the outside and a little sweetness that gave it a fun fair vibe. The Milkis was surprisingly great too, smooth, slightly creamy, and refreshing. Service was quick overall. They had just run out of wings so I waited about 15 minutes for a fresh batch, which was worth it. The guy at the front was really nice and helped me decide what to get. The space itself is pretty simple since it is in a strip mall, but it works fine for what it is. Definitely a place I want to come back to and try more from the menu.

In addition, the food came out quickly and was fresh and juicy, exactly how it should be. Furthermore, we ordered the spicy garlic sauce with our chicken, and it was absolutely delicious with the perfect kick of flavor. On top of that, we also tried the chicken dumplings, and they were just as good definitely a must-order. In addition, the restaurant itself was neat and clean, which is a big plus for me. There's only bottled beverages; no room for a fountain machine. So they do not have ice. Food is made to order. The wait was almost 30 minutes before getting my order. Everything was hot and fresh. The wings were a nice size. They don't skimp on the sauce or rubs. Overall, if you've had one wing, you've had them all. I was hoping there was something to separated them from the others, but no.
