Disappointed for the price, the hairstyle did not meet specific requests and expectations, as provided and discussed before and throughout the session, and as agreed to. However I appreciated the ease and convenience of the location and her friendly demeanor and attitude. I was preparing for an elopement event and just wanted to have the best glamour shots of my life but I was disappointed and I expected more, though I did not ask for anything complex or extravagant. By the time I got to the venue my hair had lost the fullness, shape and body that was promised, i'm sorry to say. Some of the products also seemed to be less than the best quality. I booked Hanh for my August 2024 wedding last year and she was amazing! I had airbrush makeup done once prior when I was a bridesmaid and knew that I wanted to work with someone who also offered airbrushed makeup and Hanh executed flawlessly and was so sweet to both me and my mom! I tend to have dry, flakey skin with large pores and Hanh was patient in figuring out what products worked for my skin for my engagement session and gave advice on what to do to prep my skin for my actual wedding! I had reached out with a last-minute request and Hanh was incredibly responsive during our correspondence. I was given the choice of either meeting at her studio in Sunnyvale or her home and we ended up meeting at her home. I highly recommend Hanh for your wedding day hair and makeup (and engagement photo session). I have never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, and a large reason is Hanh's incredible job on my hair and makeup. I requested "natural glam" makeup and a loose updo and Hanh nailed it perfectly. Additionally, I got a bad tan/sunburn 2 weeks before my wedding and was worried about my tan lines showing up on my photos since I was wearing a strapless dress. I loved working with Hanh. She did my hair and makeup for my Vietnamese engagement tea ceremony (Dam Hoi). I'm so glad I did the trial session with her so that we could figure out what I liked or didn't like, and what we wanted to change for the day of. She was so patient, kind and so easy to talk to. It was like talking to an older sister. The true test of all was when we had to change the hairstyle last minute on the day of. When I had the trial, we did a low bun, but I didn't have my Vietnamese hat (Khan Dong) with me. The morning of the tea ceremony, we decided to do a high bun so that the bun could sit on top through the opening of the hat. I have to say that I loved the high bun and how it complimented my face even more than the low bun. She did such an amazing job and was perfectly comfortable with the last minute adjustment. I had my wedding in June 2021. Way before that, I was looking up makeup artists in the South Bay. I liked what A-List had. My MoH and bridesmaid looked up some particular artists and narrowed it down for me and included Hanh. I knew from the photos, I wanted Hanh to do my own hair and makeup. So we contacted her. I told her when, the rough amount of services we needed and asked for a menu of costs. She estimated she needed at least 1-2 more people to help with her. I absolutely recommend working with Hanh! I booked her back in 2019 for my 2020 wedding... which was pushed due to the pandemic. She was incredibly understanding when I told her it was postponed, responding quickly and taking as much pressure off as she could. When I contacted her with our new 2022 date, she was incredible - she honored the original 3 year old rate, she made sure to hire the same makeup assistant that I'd picked out in 2019, and we set up a makeup/hair trial. I (admittedly) had some less traditional requests for my look and she was very receptive. I HIGHLY recommend doing a makeup trial before your big day so you both can get a good vibe for what you envision/how she works. In all honesty, I didn't do a brilliant job of explaining everything I wanted and was unsure what to adjust after the trial. Hanh gave great advice, to wear the makeup all day and see it in different lights and angles. She was totally right and by the end of the day I was able to voice my adjustments to her via email and she was very receptive. On my wedding day, she and her assistant arrived on time, in a positive and supporting mood, and helped gently keep me, my bridesmaids and the two mothers on a good time schedule in the makeup/hair chair. Hanh adjusted to so many things on the fly including an unplanned bridesmaid AND a groomsman jumping into the chair at the last minute.
