I was in need of a make up artist after deciding last minute that it was better if I had someone do my hair and make up for my Vietnamese wedding. Jackie came highly recommended by friends of friends so I decided to request for her makeup services. I was very lucky that she had a spot open and I talked to her about my situation where I was coming in from LA and couldn't do a makeup trial. I sent her photos of myself and gave her my inspo pictures and she said she was up to the task. Boy, did she deliver! Not only did Jackie made me feel comfortable during the whole process, but my make up held up all through the night of dancing/eating and my hair did not move an inch! I really felt like a Vietnamese barbie and everyone kept asking who did my makeup. She also did makeup for my mom and made her feel so confident. My mom felt at ease throughout the whole process and it was great that Jackie could talk Vietnamese to her. She finished our make up on time and helped me get dressed! She even gave her honest opinion on if we needed touch ups and product recommendations. If you are ever wanting someone who is going to make you look amazing on any occasion and you're looking for someone who is honest then please go to Jackie! You will not be disappointed.
I've been going to Jackie for almost 2 years. She helped me prep my skin a year prior to my wedding because my acne was terrible. She helped me with everything involving beauty. My wedding was a two day event which involved 3 different outfit. She provided me with suggestions for my hair and make up during the two day event which I thoguht was helpful becuse I was going to do an updo for two days. She also can provide suggestions and incorporates what you would like as well and well versed in other areas wedding related. I would recommend Jackie for HMUA! I will still go to her as long as she is still working and taking clients
Jackie came as a referral from another bride. Her wedding was the best wedding attended to date. Enough said. I had a covid wedding in October and Jackie was responsive, reasonably priced and highly skilled. My makeup lasted all day in 85+ degree weather outdoors and was set all without a single touch up. On the big day Jackie was patient, friendly, kept me calm when my mom was freakin out about her own makeup and made me feel comfortable. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
Jackie is amazing! I needed a hair and makeup artist for my wedding day and only had three months to find one. I contacted sooo many ladies, but sadly, a lot of them took too long to respond (up to a few days!) or never responded at all. It was frustrating, especially with wedding planning being so stressful already. Jackie on the other hand is extremely responsive. I never had to worry. We did a hair and makeup trial and I was super impressed by her work. She is a perfectionist and did my hair and makeup exactly like the photos I showed her. I didn't even have to think about it. I booked her that same day. On my wedding day, she and her team showed up on time and did hair/makeup for me, my sister, my mom and two of my bridesmaids and we all loved the way we looked. Absolutely the best!! Jackie knows how to make you look so pretty and your skin will look flawless. I was joking that she is my plastic surgeon for the day lol Jackie and her assistants are so nice and easy to work with. Long time overdue ! Jackie is the most patient & kindest makeup artist I've gotten to work with. I opted for a classy elegant look on my special day and holy cow her skills blew me away. Never would I have ever thought I would be so beautiful. Being a stressed out bride with millions of things coursing through my mind, Jackie put me as ease and made the whole process fun and exciting. Through her work you can tell that she is passionate. Jackie is heaven sent! I found her while scrambling though Instagram trying to see who can fix my hair for my wedding since my make up artist doesn't do hair. Her profile kept popping up so I decided to reach out to see if she was available. She is very quick to reply back (which I appreciated A LOT) and very patient and professional. I had a lot of changes with my schedule--who wanted their hair done, confirming, and then canceling again last minute--but Jackie was still so sweet and reassured me that these things happen and not to worry. I would give Jackie 20 stars if I could -- I truly cannot overstate how incredible she and her team were to work with. From the hair & makeup trial to my actual wedding day, Jackie continuously went above & beyond to make sure that I was comfortable, whether it was changing our schedule a countless number of times to creating my own lipstick for me to use during my wedding day! She even took some photos on her phone of us, and seemed just as excited as we were for the wedding :) While I didn't meet Jackie's team before my wedding day, I was able to tell them I wanted "natural glam" for my bridesmaids' makeup and my bridesmaids chose their own hairstyles, and they took care of everything and their looks were consistent with one another. Overall, I was absolutely thrilled with the result and Jackie's services. My bridesmaids and I felt absolutely stunning because of her!!!

I was looking for wedding makeup and hair and asked my photographer who the best makeup artist/hair stylist in SF/the bay area was and she immediately said Jackie. When a professional photographer (who probably sees the work of and also probably works with most of the makeup artists in the area) recommends someone as the best, you listen! Even so, just to be sure, I did my own research, looking at websites, blogs, and reviews and narrowed it to the same three artists every bay area bride gets to around here when they are looking for an artist who does the following things: knows how to put makeup on an Asian face, makes the look natural, and does soft, clean looks for bridal up-dos. I communicated with all of them and found that Jackie had the best package, communication skills (super responsive, sweet, and professional) and actually got me excited about my day (as opposed to making the experience feel transactional). Her pricing package also had the best value- she uses high quality materials and offers the most products and services in her bridal package. I also added the Mother-of-the-Bride package as well. On the day of my trial, I went to Jackie's studio, which is in her home in San Jose. It's beautiful, comfortable, and I felt totally at ease as soon as I came in. She is charming, funny, and really works with you to create the perfect wedding look so you feel comfortable on your day. I was so happy with my look! On the day of the wedding, my mother and I went over to Jackie's studio. Jackie worked on my mother first, and helped my mother look and feel amazing! I have never seen my mother look so beautiful. Then we started on me- the makeup and hair was incredible, and looked even better than the trial! And on top of everything, she finished over an hour early so my mother and I had more time to relax before the wedding, which was great. Working with Jackie was one of the best professional experiences I've ever had (even beyond wedding services) and her results are amazing. I could not recommend her more!
Jackie is definitely a hidden gem in the make up/esthetician world! Service: 5/5 Informative: 5/5 Price: moderate, but WORTH IT! It was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions. I went to her website to see if I could find out more information. I sent a contact request and she replied within 2 hours. She sent a detailed message with her background, pricing for eyelash extension installment and refills as well, how long the appointment is expected to take, where she's located and 4 available appointments she had left for the month. Basically, she gave me all the info I needed to know in one single email! I was able to book an appointment within 12-14 days of my original email. (When I shopped around, some places were booked out 2-3 MONTHS! I don't have that much time to wait around if I want these things done.) She works out of her house, which is comforting because it's a one-on-one session. She had the entire place clean and set up wonderfully. She reviewed the process in person and offered a blanket in case i got cold. (Be ready to lay down with your eyes closed for 2-3 hours!). The actual appointment itself took 3 hours, I naturally have a ton of lashes. We had a steady conversation throughout the entire appointment which i loved, she's so sweet and down to earth - she made the time fly by! I guess my left eye is more sensitive than my right, but I let Jackie know right away I was experiencing discomfort with my left eye. She adjusted the eye pads immediately and asked periodically if I was still experiencing any pain/discomfort! She was extremely thorough, I felt her combing through my lashes all throughout the appointment to ensure she got every single lash. I've been told by friends that they have gotten theirs done by other specialists and they only fill 60-80% of their lashes (and they charge way more!). She suggested the NovaLash care package box, which I bought just because it's my first time, but she does not push you to buy it. She takes cash and Venmo (which is awesome btw!). She really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and at home, and she did an amazing job! I've already recommended 3 friends for her service. If you are even contemplating getting this service done, DO IT WITH JACKIE!
Jackie is one of the most talented, reliable makeup artists with the best team she manages for occasions such as weddings. When I was searching for an artist, I saw that Jackie's portfolio had a wide diversity of styles and faces. Since we all know that different races and cultures need different styles of makeup to outshine certain aspects of their features. I was very confident she should do my makeup real well. The day of trial, not only she did the makeup real well, she did my hair in different ways and everyone of them looked good. I couldn't make a decision from the hair styles she made for me since they were all so unique and perfect. The day of the wedding she came with her team to do my make up and 5 of my bridesmaids. Even though we got the hotel room 40 minutes later that the time we were promised, Jackie made sure that all of us were finished with everyone's makeup at the time we had planned to go for pictures. My make-up was perfect, exactly how I had envisioned it and I was thrilled with how natural and fresh my face looked even after few hours of dancing through the night. Not only is she extremely talented, but she is also one of the nicest people you will meet. I cannot recommend her enough.
Every other make up artist should just give up. As I told Jackie and any other person who asks about her, she is incomparable. Real talk. My friends and I got our hair and makeup done with her for our senior prom and each and every one of us seriously looked gorrrgeousss!! She is so talented, it's mind-numbing! What I really enjoyed seeing was our transformation and how distinct our 5 looks were. It's difficult to achieve 5 looks that are variant from each other when 4/5 people want cute up dos! But obviously with Jackie, that's not even a problem. Many other girls at my prom had the usual make up with the lashes and the up do, but there was a distinct quality to Jackie's work. As my friends and I walked into the venue, we sure did not feel like a dime a dozen (well because honestly, we weren't!) What amazed me even MORE was the sustainability of her work! My hair and make up had to deal with hours in the sun and wind (group pictures, you know), 3 hours of my sweat (dancing, you know), and the rest of the crazy post-prom type stuff and get this...hair and makeup? In tact. If that's not quality work, I'm not sure I know what is. Her work is astounding! She is extremely PROFESSIONAL and you absolutely get your moneys worth going to her. I looked fabulous, I felt fabulous, everyone else thought I was fabulous. Come on! Why would one not go to her? I know for a fact that my face and my hair will be seeing her again :)
Jackie came recommended by a mutual friend / client of hers and she is so great! From the first day I reached out to her via email she responded right away and gave me upfront breakdown of her costs. Leading up to the wedding day she texted me explained very what myself and my girls needed to do with our hair to prep. On the day of my wedding, I was supposed to go to her space but the power went out so we quickly adjusted and she was able to move everything to my new space! She is a very easy conversationalist and an even better make up artist! Jackie did my hair and make up perfectly and I got so many compliments on my wedding day. Jackie is amazing! One of the most talented makeup and hair artist in the Bay Area! She makes you feel so comfortable and listens to any concerns you may have about your appearance. Jackie will enhance your features without making you look completely different or making it look overdone. Booking a trial is a must! She takes her time to create different looks for your special day so you'll have options. Then, she provides a mini photo shoot so you'll have a realistic idea of how your wedding photos will turn out and how your makeup picks up in professional cameras. On our wedding day, she also helped with my mom and mother in laws makeup. They loved her work and could not be any happier. Jackie was super sweet to both of them and made them feel comfortable considering it was their first time ever to get their makeup professionally done. When it came to my turn getting my hair and makeup done, she first asked me if I ate. When I told her I had a little bagel, she told me to eat more and waited for me to finish a bagel. Not only is she your makeup/hair artist but she is like a mother-like sister that you'll fall in love with. She is super personable and the most helpful person to have on your wedding day. She gave me great tips to help me get through the day and also kept me calm and happy while we were getting ready. Once we were done, all my bridesmaids jaws dropped! They were complimenting me non stop and I've never felt so beautiful as I did on my wedding day! Jackie, you are truly talented and so down to earth! What's to say about Jackie that hasn't already been said in all the 5* reviews below? Not much but I'll add my 2cents anyway :) Jackie is amazing! I am not trying to be vain but um.. I felt like a princess and wonderfully pampered and beautiful on my wedding day, which is exactly how I wanted to feel. I wanted to own my wedding day and look back on my pictures fondly and remember how young and pretty I once was... :P Just remember - the way you look at yourself in the mirror afterwards seems dramatic, but in the photos they turn out beautiful and natural! My mother in law was shocked at how she looked and didn't like the makeup at first, but after seeing the results of our wedding photography she agreed that Jackie's touch was necessary and made her stand out. Special thanks: - Jackie was on time (maybe even a little early!) and really helpful and accommodating in every way. - My sister thought I signed her up for makeup on the day of so she didn't prepare.. when she found out that I didn't sign her up, Jackie graciously said she could do my sister after me even though it was totally unplanned and she would have to stay later than expected. - Jackie "taught" my mom how to put the veil in and let my mom do it because she said it was sweeter for the photography which turned out to be wonderful photos. Jackie knows everything! Throughout the whole experience and even afterwards, my whole family kept talking about Jackie and how friendly and sweet she was. Jackie is simply amazing. She is professional, highly talented, passionate about her work, and hands down the most caring person in the world! She really cares about her clients and she's great to be around with. To add on to her line of work with hair and makeup, she now can professionally do extensions for your eyelashes! I have recently went to Jackie to get Novalash eyelash extensions and she did an amazing job! The session was about 1-2 hours and she really took her time to make the lash extensions perfect and beautiful. At the end of the session, she explains how to care for the lash extensions and she was able to answer questions I had for her as well. It's been a week and the lashes still looks amazing! I highly recommend to go to Jackie if you're interested in eyelash extensions. The entire session was comfortable and relaxing. You will leave in a great mood! *This review is for eyelash extensions* I am notorious for wearing falsies all day, every day, no matter the occasion, location or weather climate. I've had eyelash extensions before in the hopes of shortening the amount of time I take to get ready in the morning but the place I had gone to messed up so bad that I pretty much plucked them off myself right after. On top of that, they had stuck a whole bunch on my water line? Is that what it's called? Anyway, I figured okay I'll give it a try one more try but with Jackie. I heard about her work through a friend and then started following her work on Facebook. Can I just say I've never gone a day without any eye makeup until I met her? I can literally wake up in the morning and either just put on my eyebrows or not touch my face at all and go about my day feeling completely confident in the mere fact that I have eyelashes now! I think this is the most satisfied I have ever been with my lashes. They're so cute, so natural and so gorgeous. I met Jackie at her studio one afternoon, the most serene and calm environment I've ever been in. She talked me through the whole process and explained what she was applying onto my eyes. Something the other place didn't bother to tell me about. Jackie was wonderful, kept checking in on me if there were any irritations. It went so smoothly, I had to wake myself up a few times in the event that I would start snoring.. She's very detailed and is a perfectionist but I'm sure everyone can agree with me when I say that's the one quality you look for in someone who has anything to do with how you look. Needless to say, I am one happy camper with the results. I've never felt more happy with the way my eyes look and actually, I think I've found my local go-to beauty guru :) The most gorgeous and sweetest person I've ever met. And honest! im a little hesitant about leaving jackie a review because selfishly i want to keep her my little secret =P But, her work is just to amazing to not share her with the world. i coincidently found jackie via IG, and started following her. i really liked her work for lashes extensions, so i decided to put my virgin lashes in her hands. initially, it was supposed to be a one time thing for my vacation to asia as i wanted to be on vacation and just get up and go. however, i am now totally obsessed with these extensions, and i just can't stop! they look so good! everywhere i go, i always get compliments. i spend only 5 mins on my face. i can literally say, "i woke like this." =P jackie offers 2 types of lashes. she offers classic lashes and nova minx lashes. i opted for the nova minx lashes. (these costs more) jackie is really inviting. right when i met her at her doorstep, i knew i would like her! she's so sweet and cute! she always makes sure that i am comfortable and relaxed. she also puts 110% into her work. i never ever feel like she's rushing. she makes the whole process painless and seamless! ladies, for extensions, jackie is phenomenal! read more

My best friend told me great things about Jackie and so I had to check out her works and I was amazed. When it was time to find a make-up artist for my wedding I knew I had to contact Jackie. Jackie is not only one of the most talented person but also so genuinely kind, honest and very easy to talk to. When I went for my wedding make-up and hair trial and I was so pleased with the service and how beautiful and clean her studio was. I immediately booked her for my wedding day. After the trial, she fixed me up for my e-session photo shoot that turned out to be a 2 days thing. I slept with my make-up and hair on and with a bit of lipstick touch up I was ready for the second day of shooting with my hair and make-up still looking amazing. I came back for my boudoir photo shoot make-up and hair even if it means I had to drive 2.5hrs for a 9am appointment. On my wedding day, Jackie showed up on time and made me look so fresh, clean and beautiful. So many people asked about my make-up and hair and I proudly recommend her to anyone. Novalashessss! Lashes for daysss! I've gotten lash extensions before but certainly nothing like this! Jackie is so meticulous! I've had at least 6 months of lash extensions (including refills and such) before I took a hiatus, they were nice but definitely not as lush and full as the set Jackie just gave me! She is the sweetest! My lashes look great and I feel so glam and am so excited to wake up and not have to put in any liner or mascara and be ready to go! Jackie definitely takes her time to make sure every lash is taken cared of and I appreciate that so much! Total it took about 3 hours to get all the lashes on and I feel like the lash extensions I've gotten before were somewhat rushed, not every lash had an extension and before it took only 1 hour! Also before I was advised that after getting my extensions that I was not allowed to have water touch my lashes until 24 hours after, with Jackie, she uses the official Novalash adhesive which does not need the 24 hour time to set, she said I was free to workout, shower, swim, or whatever I wanted right after I left her studio! Jackie also went through everything to make sure I would have the perfect set of lashes I wanted. She gave me options of types of lashes, length of lashes, curls of lashes and even walked me through exactly what she put on me! I would recommend any lady looking for lush lashes to go to Jackie! She only uses good products and she takes care of all of her clients the way she would take care of herself! It's hard to find people who take care of their clients they way they would take care of themselves. Her studio is so so cute! I love her decor! Oh yeah, her bed for you to lay on for the lash extensions was sooooo comfy! I pretty much fell asleep seconds after she went through everything with me! Jackie is wonderful. I went to her for my trial and loved the outcome so I booked her for my wedding. On my wedding day, I got tons of compliments with my make up and hair. It was flawless and last from morning till the end of the night. No need for touch-ups. I didn't have a hairstyle I wanted but told Jackie that I wanted to be able to have a different style for the reception, she put it up during the ceremony and when I had my little sister and bridesmaids pull out the bobby pins my hair was nice and curly that some guests thought I had my hair re-done again for the reception. Overall I was able to pull off two different look and both were great. Jackie made my once in a lifetime beautiful and pictures says it all! read more

Jackie is amazing! I had my brows done with her today and to say I'm ecstatic with the results is an understatement! I have a huge scar on my right brow from an accident that happened 7-8 years ago. As a result, the shape of my brow was completely distorted and the hair never grew back...leaving me with a huge bald spot. Every morning, I'd spend what felt like eternity filling my brows in trying to get them to match as best as I could, unsuccessfully. Enter Jackie! She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! Her work space is clean and communication is on point. She explains to you the entire process before and during your appointment. She is meticulous with what she does and if you're not happy, she's not happy. She's a perfectionist and for that I'm grateful. Jackie was able to cover up my scar. We used Jackie to do the hair and make up for my daughters 15th birthday party and she did an amazing job! We send her pictures of the hair style and Jackie got the style right on the dot! Jackie has been a blessing to my life. I had an eyebrow tattooed before that has faded, and she was able to fix it. She is so thorough (kinda OCD) which probably make her good at what she does. She asks every now and then if I'm comfortable, with the process. Eyebrow tattooing should not be taken lightly as it's one that frames the face. She also used to do my eyelash extension which was equally good. She is soft spoken and very professional. Her working space is very clean which is very important to me. She is not clattered at all. It looked like a doctors clinic! She is very patient in asking questions of what my needs are. What I want to see the finished project. Please consider using Jackie for your eyebrows Revision. Jackie did such an amazing job on my eyebrows. I grew up with very little eyebrow hairs and have always been so insecure about my brows. I am so excited to be waking up with perfect eye brows. Though I'm an avid yelper, I never write reviews... This is my first review and I've reminded myself everyday to write one for Jackie. That's how good she is! I booked Jackie for a consultation back in October? I was looking for a MUA and having followed Jackie's work on facebook for quite some time, I was excited to work with her. So here's a review based on that experience: Timeliness: I sent her both and email and facebook message (unsure of which medium she preferred). She responded very quickly to my initial email, and responded very promptly to my emails thereafter. Professionalism/Skills: I generally prefer to do my own makeup for events and such because I rarely have good experiences with other MUA. However, I didn't want to stress over so many things on pageant day so I decided to look for one. She immediately came to mind and was my first choice. The consultation I booked with Jackie was for my headshot. I told her the basics of what the pageant directors wanted for the shoot, briefly described how I like my makeup, and she did the job perfectly! She knew exactly how to do my eyes, which colors to choose, etc. She also did my hair. My curls stayed all day long, and my overall look was the quintessential "pageant" look with a bit of edge (exactly my style). I believed she's had training and certification (?) for skincare, so she has a very good understanding of how to personalize looks and use products according to your needs. Customer service: Because I live in the area, I met Jackie at her in-home studio. She was already up by the time I arrived (it was quite early in the morning), greeted me with a warm welcome, and even offered me tea/coffee! She's so friendly and easy to chat with! Unfortunately, I was unable to book her for actual pageant day since I was a unemployed college student at the time. But I'd have her as my personal MUA/hairstylist for everything if I could. Nonetheless, everyone loved my look that day.. and though I typically don't talk about this (much less announce it for the entire virtual world to read...), our headshots were used to determine "Miss Photogenic" and I was given the title. :) 5 stars for her excellent skills, professionalism, and lovely personality!! read more
