Plenty of stuff and plenty of space. Mostly RC but lots of plastic models, game and plastic miniatures. Very nice hobby supply selection topped with very good service. My only suggestion iss to put the game players in the back room, which was empty, instead of the front room that crowded out buying customers. read more

I've been going to this store for most of my hobby purchases like paint and glue. They have a very wide array of paint, almost an entire wall dedicated to it, and even help choose paint if you need the help! They have tables you can work at if you want to stay and use them, and just are generally better than any other store I have tried out for hobby supplies in the Raleigh NC area. read more

My grandson and I were looking for a summer modeling project. We were looking for a good selection and based on their website it looked like it was worth the 1:15 hour drive. The folks there are incredible, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We followed their recommendation and took home and RC car kit. We finally got to the stage were we needed the battery, transmitter receiver and steering servo. So we took another ride and were once again rewarded with a wealth of knowledge, patience and teaching. We still struggled a little at home but by following the advice we got and knowing that we could call or go there 7 days a week for help have us the confidence to attempt this challenging build. Flames of War, Warhammer, Wings of War, cars, model rockets, model planes (some remote controlled) . . . . Hangar 18 has all the requisite things and game pieces you need for any of the above. If your hobby is model planes or cars, they'll build or repair if you'd prefer to let someone else do it. They'll even add the decals. If that's not enough, in the corner, near the door, are the balsa self-assemble airplanes I haven't seen in longer than I care to remember. I didn't know they still made them. Very cool. Although it's still a relatively new store, they have been holding events for Battle Tech and Flames of War (nothing's on the upcoming calendar yet) if you're a gamer. (There is a yahoo group for league play, though.) On the day I visited, there were maybe 4 or 5 other people in the store, debating battle tactics, while assembling cars or planes on the back tables and occasionally debating why superman needed to dodge bullets. The new location is a bit roomier, something the last place lacked a bit. The store has a really great focus on various hobby communities with times for building groups, and various hobby clubs. I go there mostly for the gundams, probably the best selection in the state! Good selection of currently popular and more hard to find kits. read more

This place might be one of the best hobby shops in the state! Friendly staff, I was there because they were hosting a model show and it was one of the coolest places around! RCs hanging from the ceiling, a whole cabinet full of built models, and they have products I haven't found anywhere else, full range of Vallejo products, Mr. Color thinners, Mission Modles paints, Alclad, you name it, it seems like they have it! Great Store great knowledgable staff. Was having trouble with some battery charging issues they actually went through exactly how to do it.. and I was able to video tape the whole thing. Very helpful and when they don't have something they will order and get it in fast... though they do have alot in stock! I have been going to Hanger 18 since the day they opened! I wasn't looking for a new hobby store but saw it as we were going into the restaurant next door. I ventured in and have been going back for years. Bryan and his staff are always helpful. They provide the same high level of help and advice for each customer whether you're just buying a bottle of paint or a large RC model! They make sure you get what you need and advise you against what you don't need. That's important with remote control drones, aircraft and cars! I wanted to buy a drone for my grandson a few years ago. I was ready to shell out some big bucks but Bryan advised me to buy something much less expensive that would make a good starter unit. Good thing too. My grandson ended up crashing his first one! He now has a bigger one that he knows how to use thanks to Hanger 18. They also have models and gaming supplies, as well as run games for several popular gaming platforms. My son and I spend a lot on Warhammer 40K here! If I sound like an endorsement for them, I am! This place is world class. I was in town visiting family when I needed to hit a hobby shop. Within 2 minutes of my first time in, I felt like this was MY hometown hobby shop. The customer service was awesome, the prices were what you expected and the selection was good. More importantly, the follow up service was amazing. I had one small issue with my purchase (a quadcopter) and within 5 minutes of getting back to the shop I had a new quadcopter with zero questions asked and no receipt.
