I called for a quote to do some renovations in my bathroom. Allan came to my house to give me a quote. He showed up 1/2 late, no an apology nothing. Then I told exactly what need it to be done. Replace bathtub, toilette, vanity, mirror, add an electric outlet, paint, change the shower curtain rod and put one screw to the wall. I asked for an approximate price (knowing that it was not going to be exact - perhaps 10 - 15 % more). To my surprise quote was 58% more that the price he gave me. They were thing s on the quote that I've received later on. Such as, taking lighting wooden cover on the wall, adding electric outlet (which is really important to me, since I do not have one in hte bathroom), he add an extra charge for taking off the shower curtain rod (which a 5 year old can take it off or I could be able to take it off with my pinky - it is not attached to the wall), i saw a charge to take off toilette paper holder (which is attached to the vanity that is going to be replace - when taking vanity, it will be attached to it). When I mentioned that I have an electric outlet on the other side of the dividing wall behind the vanity. So he can add the electric outlet in my bathroom. His replied was "depending on where the other electric outlet was, it could be really expensive". Are you kidding me??? If they are going to remove the vanity, it is going to be a whole in the wall and he will be able to see where are the electric wires, why it should be more expensive? Please make sure if you ever decided to get a quote from them. Have a list before hand of things that have to be done. Make sure that whoever is coming sign a copy. So at the time of the quote, they do not miss anything. I bet at the end of my quote the price could be 75% than the price Allan mentioned on our meeting. On top of anything, he never gave me his business card. I supposed to send him some information that he asked me. After receiving my quote, sent a list of what it was wrong with the quote? Missing things, price way too high, etc. Carol Morhat the manager contacted me right away by phone, then email. She never wanted to answer my questions via e-mail. She wanted to talk to me on the phone. After this experience, I need to see everything on paper..........................Please beware who you hire for a job. My sink fell into the cupboard below it in December of 2019. I called handyman connection and they came out to re-mount it. Approximately six weeks ago, it fell again. I called to have the sink fixed once again. They made several appointments with me that they didn't bother to show up for. On one occasion I took time off work and on another occasion we cut our long weekend short as they had promised to be there both times to fix my sink.....when they did finally show up days later, they were hours late. Last night, the garbage disposal under the sink fell out. I immediately called handyman connections and their answering service assured me they would call me first thing in the morning. I did not receive a call back. Do NOT use this company. They are unreliable and unprofessional! read more

I said I would call on Handyman Connection for my next project and I did. I wanted a new entrance door for my garage and HC had the best price for installation, especially when you count in their zero cost of the estimate. Unfortunately, the first installer wasn't very good and I had to call him back to correct a problem with the threshold. He also broke the switch for my automatic garage door opener but I was able to glue it back together. Unfortunately, more problems cropped up and I suffered through the whole summer with a sticking door. HC guarantees their work for a year but they took so long to make good on the guarantee that I was afraid that the guarantee would run out before the door was fixed. Finally, they sent another installer who knew what he was doing. The door works fine, no sticking and the matter is resolved. read more

My wife was fearful that the mantle above our fireplace was going to completely fall off the wall and crush our children. Ultimately, that's what brought Handyman Connection into our lives and we're thankful that Omer was the fellow that was sent. He was courteous and professional throughout our dealings with him. The work was done quickly and he even did touch-up paint to cover holes in the wall left by the previous stop-gap measures used to keep the mantle attached to the wall. I received a quote from handyman connections which was a complete waste of time. The scope of my work was to insert 6 shelves, install 2 bi-fold closet doors, install 1 new door and 8 door handles. The man that came to give me a quote told me he had to cut the shelves to the right size as we had mis-measured them. We did not.... I have them installed now and they fit perfectly. He quoted me over 2000 dollars for what is less than one days work. I called the lady to voice my concerns at being ripped off and she never got back to me. read more

We needed our over the range microwave removed and new one put in. The replacement was the same model so no additional work was required -- basically unscrew 3 bolts, pull old microwave out, put new one up and reinstall 3 bolts. Called and spoke with Carol who indicated the cost would be approx. $150.00. Erik came out 2 days later (today), scheduled for 9 a.m. but was 1 hour late but at least had the courtesy to call and let us know of the delay. Erik had a look at the old and the new, went to his car to "contact the office for a quote" then phoned us from his car to say it would be $330.00 plus GST!!!! This was more than the value of the microwave, more than double what Home Depot charges ($160.00) and more than double what Carol 'estimated' on the phone!!!! Being seniors, we had truly hoped Handyman Connection would be a company we could rely on for several projects but will NEVER, NEVER call them again!!! VERY disappointed and shocked!! read more
