Because of my schedule, I didn't make the appt sooner and things got disgusting in that dishwasher with mold and everything. Well Jake came out and he found that my disposal was dead - the motor had seized up and that was the issue. He was able to go to the Home Depot just a couple miles away, get me a new one and installed it. Not only that but he made sure that the standing water in the dishwasher was able to drain too. It did!! I was so excited. He double checked everything to make sure all was tight and there was no leakage. Jake was professional, kind and so helpful. He sure knew his stuff and got it done in a timely manner. This is the 2nd time I have called Mr. Handyman and have been pleased both times. Being a little older with a mobility issue this company and the services they offer is truly a Godsend. Thank you to everyone there from the ladies that made my appointments to Jake who made everything right. I will have them back!!

Darryl was the first handyman to arrive at our home. One of the projects he had been hired to…read morecomplete was to remove all old moldy/mildewed caulk from one of the upstairs showers. He did not do this. Instead he went over (most of) the old caulk with new. We sent photos to the office and made it clear that we were not happy and that this was not what we were paying for. They agreed and sent Stephen to our home. He was polite and easy to work with. He completed the work on the shower and then left. Two days later Darryl arrived at our home again to start the drywall repair and remaining projects. When we went in to our kitchen we realized that he had completely ignored or forgotten the specific instructions we had given him the day he arrived. Our plumber who had fixed the 2 leaks upstairs (water came down through our kitchen ceiling) had pointed out that a fairly large section of the kitchen ceiling was actually bowed slightly downward because apparently water had been sitting there for awhile before he was able to come out and complete the repairs. He told us that whoever fixed the ceiling needed to cut out that entire section and repair it. We passed all of this information on to both the owner of the company and Darryl. When we pointed out his mistake, Darryl became angry with us. At this point we reached out to the office and told them not to send him to our home again. At some point in this project we were asked to pay for the potion of the work that had been completed. We agreed, but should not have. The next day we realized that we had been charged for the entire project. Alarmed, we reached out to the owner and demanded assurance from him that we would not receive another bill once the work was completed. His texted response is below. At this point we realized that we had been ripped off by this company. We reached out to the owner and made it clear that he would get no more money from us. We also told him not to send any more employees to our home. By the end of the day we had received a voicemail from him stating that after he had checked over all of the initial photos and texts we had exchanged, including the phone conversations we had with him, that there had been some sort of miscommunication. Well, there was no miscommunication on our part. We had made sure that we sent all of the necessary photos and explanations including the information our plumber had given us. We had answered all of the owners questions prior to accepting the bid. In his voicemail the owner told us that he hoped we would allow him to send an employee out to finish the work and that we would not be asked to pay any more money. At this point we had to decide if we trusted him. After thinking it over we decided that we did not. We found someone else to complete the work. We would never recommend this company to anyone.
