Not that it's $95 just to show up and that it doesn't even include the first hour of labor (they were here less than one hour and still tacked on another $124). $219 total. 2) Scheduled the appointment a week in advance and they still showed up a day later than promised. They also refused to provide any kind of time frame or window for the appointment. 3) The technician smelled like an ashtray which affected my wife's allergies terribly while he was in the house. 4) Called them back to discuss the perceived misrepresentation on the phone and was just told that this is our policy and this is how we operate. We won't use them again or recommend them to anyone else. This will also be posted on Angie's List, Facebook, and work classifieds to spread the word throughout Madison County.

The actual repairperson who did the work was knowledgeable, prompt, and faultlessly polite. That is the best part of this story so far. I was charged for a service call fee, 2 hours of labor (of which only 40 minutes was performed, I have it recorded both by phone calls and security camera) and a 1,600% markup on parts ($117 for less than $8 worth of relays; I googled the part number). When I mentioned these billing issues to customer service via email, they quickly corrected the labor charge, but stuck to their guns on the part markup because it "wasn't fair that our tech had to drive so far to get to you". The business is located about twenty minutes away from our major city center; and when, to save time, I first offered to send pictures of my unit and control panel before anyone came out I was told that would not be necessary, so any assertion of 'unfairness' or wasted time/lost profits is poor planning on the company's part, not mine. I told customer service that I could be charged a fair rate on parts AND labor or I would leave a one star review, or if they wanted the bill paid as it currently was written it would be the last money I spent with this company, at which point they tried some guilt trip of "well, you agreed to the work" despite having no written or verbal authorization of charges, and said they'd get back to me, but with no specified timeframe for doing so. It's been over four days speaking with the CS representative now and no resolution. This is the worst part of this story so far. I will gladly edit this review down when the billing is both accurate and fair, but I am four days into a series of emails and calls and am becoming increasingly impatient.

I had a lot of projects, one being a split a/c unit, so I paid him a deposit so he could get that ordered. I was fine with all of this. However, he never showed up when he said he would. He gave me the estimate in July but has never returned to my house to do any project. All of our correspondences have been through text messaging. He would say he would be at my house on a certain day/time but then he would not show or call or text to say why. I would have to initiate when he would be there. I have repeatedly asked for a refund of the deposit and have been more than accommodating to his situation; however, this is not a way to run a business or treat a person. I am now forced to take him to small claims court.

His price was lowest of the bids I received and I hired him for the job. Almost immediately I started regretting it. After paying him $1000 up front to purchase paint and supplies, he then no showed for several days. Eventually he responded to my texts and said he had run out of money to purchase a paint sprayer and was working other jobs to get enough money for that. Supplies for this job wouldn't have cost anywhere near the $1000 I paid him. He had previously told me he had a paint sprayer and had painted at least one other house before. After work finally began it became very obvious that he did not know what he was doing. I repeatedly told him to arrive in the early mornings to paint as the daily temps were almost 100 degrees each day. He agreed but not once did he ever start work early - many days did not even arrive until afternoon. Then he wanted another $1000 because he didn't buy enough paint in the beginning and had no money to purchase more. At this point the painting was about 1/2 - 2/3 finished and wouldn't take more than 2 or 3 gallons of paint. I refused initially but since the job was taking so long, gave him another $500. He became upset on more than one occasion, raising his voice and arguing with me. Then since I didn't give him the entire $1000 he wanted, he did not speak to me at all and I never knew when he would show up to work. It took about 3 weeks for him to do this job when everyone else who bid told me they would do it in 3 days. Also, he finished in the evening when I couldn't do a thorough check on his work. I even paid him extra because he was clearly in over his head and frustrated. The following day I found several problems with the paint job he did, including missing spots and paint overspray on my fence. Contacted him again and he said he would return to fix - twice he said he'd be here and never showed up. I have given him every opportunity to make this job right. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIRING HIM!
