Nerds in a Flash arrived late on a day that I was tightly scheduled and asked for considerably more than they had originally estimated (exactly the same job/problem I had described to them)... but redeemed themselves by cheerfully solving my problem and agreeing to the original estimate. Would I hire them again? You bet, but I recommend that you have them come in on a day that you have a flexible schedule, because your own time pressures are demonstrably unimportant to them.

I called on Monday and let Michelle know that though my computer wouldn't start, I understood that the hard drive was still good and I needed to transfer the data to the new one. She was very nice and set me up with an appointment for Thursday with a 1 hour arrival window. As a business owner, I understand that because some problems take longer than expected, scheduling service calls isn't an exact science. The most important thing is communication. James ended up running a little late but he handled it perfectly. He called me with 10 minutes left in the window to apologize and let me know he would be a few minutes late, which he was (3 minutes). In my experience, if someone is 3 minutes late they consider that on time and they certainly wouldn't call and give a heads up. As far as the service call goes, not only did he get my new computer set up, he figured out what was wrong with the old one and got it running again. Ending up with 2 working computers never entered my mind as an option. James made sure that he took care of everything I needed and helped me with a few things I didn't know that I needed. It's been a while since I've had a set IT resource so it was very helpful to talk with James about the other services he could help me with in the future. I will definitely call Nerds and James the next time I need IT help.

This duo saved my Note 5 from a serious drowning when I woke up one morning to find it floating on…read moremy nightstand. It was in its fancy case but the charging port seal had broken off and water spilled out when opened. After TBH Repairs dried it, it was taken apart, cleaned extensively, reassembled and everything worked again except for the speaker microphone which they ordered and it was here the next day. What could have been a $600 nightmare repair turned into a small cell phone repair and I was back in action not missing important calls. I felt unlucky to have drowned my cell but extremely lucky to have their help to save my cell phone.

We bought a refurbished Dell computer from this business after our older refurbished Dell machine…read moredied. They transferred our data to this newer machine, installing Windows 11, which resulted in a common problem: only one of us (the original "administrator") could now open their documents. When we went back for help on this issue, the Repair Connection specialist washed his hands from it. He'd been paid already. Beyond that point he didn't seem to care. We ended up finding Frankenstein in North Austin, quite far from our home, but oh, such a difference in expertise and attitude! Problem solved, first trying to fix it remotely and failing, then taking old and new computer to Frankenstein. I do not intend to return to Computer Repair Connection.
