We just knew that we wanted someone to come up with a vision- help us add space, help us make the existing space more usable etc. Isaac has been wonderful and helped us design a plan that fit all of the needs that we both knew and didn't know that we had-specifically he helped us to find additional space by scoping out a repurposing of an unused attic area above our garage, and came up with a completely reworked floor plan that would make the existing space fit our own needs better. Isaac worked with us on multiple iterations of the plan-from inception to filing needed local permits. Moreover, Isaac helped us to identify partners along the way, finding a GC for us and project managing the entire process. I also want to mention that not only is the quality of Isaac's work high, but his communication and attention to detail made the process more pleasant than painful-he was always on top of everything that we needed-from scheduling surveyors to making sure that we thought though where to place light fixtures. We toured some of his projects at the time, which were more transitional/traditional, and he assured us that he could help us accomplish the more contemporary look we were going for. Our experience with Ripple Design was less than satisfactory for the following reasons: Attention to detail was lacking. When you hire an architect you want them to spend time in your home and pay attention to light, house direction etc. I don't believe any of this was considered or brought up. I had to bring up things like the low clearance on the stairway, which was something Jim didn't even notice. Our laundry room sink could not have the tap installed because his plans didn't have correct counter depth. His measurements were off in so many parts of the house because he just didn't spent the time needed to get it right. Jim's team came out to our house less than a handful of times when the project was underway and did not oversee our project or design to completion. We had a wall upstairs that completely started to separate from the ceiling within the first year of living in the house. Jim never came to the house while the project was underway to make sure everything was being done to his plans. The initial interest in our project was short-lived and we were pretty disappointed with the overall service. Ripple design has taken zero responsibility for their failure in this project. Instead, Jim said these thing are construction related issues. He is the one who vetted the contractor (ML Designs) and recommended we go with him. We didn't even have this contractor on our radar until Jim recommended him. At the time we really trusted that Ripple design cared about our project and trusted their recommendations. When we expressed concerns about the project while it was underway, one of the architects at Ripple Design (Kelly) assured us everything looked the way it should. Now that exact location has had water damage that we've had to fix twice due to the siding being installed incorrectly and Ripple design falsely assuring us at the time it was installed correctly. They also failed us on the design and interior of the house. They never finished the design work on the house because the designer assigned to our project went down to part time and Jim didn't assign anyone else to our project and could never get a hold of anyone at this office. The lack of attention to detail in the design of the house and the overall way they managed our project is the reason we would not recommend Ripple design to anyone. The contractor was the worst recommendation and we regret that we hired him and Ripple for our long term home. It has been such a disappointment to be fixing everything on a brand new remodel from structural to cosmetic stuff.
