I requested a 50 minute full body massage the day after a strain training workout. I was very sore and needed to soften tight muscles especially on my upper back and shoulder. Since availability of was limited, I opted for a male massage therapist that made me feel uncomfortable. Rather than focus on the areas that he asked me about that I told him we're bothering me, when I was on my stomach, he decided to instead focus on massaging primarily my hip and upper thigh area. It was very creepy. After the massage ended, usually the massage therapist will wait for you and walk you to the front. Instead, this guy immediately left the room and disappeared. I should've stopped him because I felt he was being very creepy and making me feel vulnerable since I was in a vulnerable position. I should've complained to the front desk and manager. Instead, I just left. Don't go to this place. It's really not good and don't ever allow a male massage therapist there to touch you. read more

Went for a Valentine's Day massage with my mom. I've had massages before and I know what I like. You are asked what level of firmness you want, and I requested very firm, as I exercise a lot. When the masseuse entered the room, she told me that her "style is medium to firm." I explained that I wanted something VERY firm if possible. It was in fact not even medium level firmness. Although the massage was mildly pleasant, I did not feel like I had a massage by a professional. She was very nice, however. The young ladies at the front desk were UNprofessional. I overheard them negatively talking about someone - I think a client - for a good five minutes. There was no avoiding it as the desk is quite close to the waiting area. Whoever was in charge that day also had a phone conversation with an employee who had probably called out sick and told the employee they needed to "get on the phone and find coverage" for themselves because they would be out six services that day. It was heavily implied that should the person not find coverage they were expected to come in. I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty angry if my masseuse came in sick and tried to give me a massage. No thanks. Then after our massages, we got a hard sell about their monthly massage "package" membership (basically $60 per month for a SINGLE massage per month). How is this any sort of deal? Massage Envy gives you multiple massages per month for the same price and has more services available. I won't be back. read more

This was my third time using this particular facility, I've enjoyed one facial and two massages prior to today's appointment So much that I signed up for a monthly subscription. The front desk called me yesterday to confirm today's appointment, I never thought to ask who my masseuse would be I thought perhaps they would put me with at least one of the two I had seen already, but they were already gone no longer working there for whatever reasons and they put me in with a new masseuse Gina. I inquired as to whether Gina was, a small woman or a larger woman of stature simply because I am a larger framed woman and it takes a good firm hand for me to feel my massage and the first two I had were so excellent and so deep at some point a little bit too much pain but it was enjoyable pain you know what I mean. They assured me Gina was excellent at her job. I was on the phone for at least 20 minutes. I asked so many questions and the young lady was kind enough to find out the answers If she didn't know them never once did they That the subscription I signed for monthly in August only included Swedish massages, especially noting the fact that I told them I needed firm hands because I am a big girl in my opinion. Entering the room with this young lady, I immediately felt a difference in the presentation (wondering if it has anything to do with my conversation yesterday hmmmm gossip maybe) anyway, after she entered the room, I asked for two things, one something to support my lower back, and secondly, the dots of peppermint oil under my nose, because I get so stuffed up. This has always been offered to me if I forget mine at home you know an absolute dot shared by two nostrils, I was told she was going to put a bolster under my legs, but aromatherapy was extra $10. OK I asked her to leave the room while I looked in my purse to see if I had my peppermint oil upon leaving the room, her body language was awful, her grunts and groans leaving the room we're offensive also before leaving room she said I've been doing this 10 years no one has ever asked me for peppermint oil ever (what???). She enters back into the room, begins the "rubbing" we will call it in because it was the furthest thing from a massage ever, I asked to please give it more pressure twice on the second time she said, I'm doing Firm, ma'am, and I can't go any firmer unless you pay more money you asked for a Swedish massage this is what you're getting. When I spoke to the front desk person about my call yesterday she knew all about it and she proclaimed to have heard everything so obviously I was on speaker. How rude is that. At this point, I was shaking, trembling. In fact, I asked to cancel my subscription and for a refund the front desk person said she had to discuss this with her manager, and then said you can leave. I asked for something in writing she flippantly grabbed a piece of paper and had me sign it. I just finished my facial and I gave my Estheticians a tip. As I was walking out I was stopped by the front desk staff and was asked to leave a tip. I was confused for a second, the I got embarrassed. I told the girl I gave my esthetician a tip already and the girl said ok them proceeded to try to sell me some monthly package. I kindly decline and walked out. I will never go back. I thought it was very rude and unprofessional to ask for a tip as I'm walking out. read more

I give Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa five stars because everyone from the front desk staff to the massage therapists are always welcoming, concerned for my well-being, and responsive to my concerns. Cheryl is my favorite Massage Therapist (but they are all excellent) and with her I've tried just about every massage therapy they offer from "Hot Stone" to CBD-infused to "Himalayan Salt" with great results. The environment is always clean, sanitary and tranquil; I have no fears of COVID-19 there. I set up an appointment at the Palm Coast business for a 50-minute massage, with specific instructions that I need someone who does deep-tissue massage. Acknowledging that my request will be granted and after the appt was made, the Receptionist advised that I need come in 15 minutes before the appointed time to fill in preliminary paperwork. The day came in for the 10 am appointment and I showed up 15 minutes early as requested. While waiting, I reiterated my previous request for a deep-tissue masseuse. I was advised that I have been assigned a medium-firm masseuse. I intimated that this is a complete disregard for my specific instruction, so the Receptionist advised she will see what can be done to correct the situation. After about 15 minutes, I was advised that there is no other therapist and that I can re-schedule if I want, which I opted not to do. The Receptionist then returned and advised that they are running late with their other sessions, and that my time will be cut. I reiterated that I signed up for a 50 minutes massage and that is what I intended to get. I was advised that it is only 40 since the 10 minutes is for the intake and dressing time. I argued that I was asked to come in 15 minutes early for the paperwork so that should not count against my time. Long story short, I was inside the treatment room with the masseuse and was advising what body part I want her to concentrate on, and what I am expecting from the session. With full arrogance and no intention of listening to a client, she replied "let me just do my job. I have been doing this for 20 years", and continued to do as she wished, without regard to what I, the client wanted or needed. What I expected to be a pleasant relaxing experience turned out to be a harrowing experience!!! Need I say that the 50 minutes session turned into 35 minutes? read more

I had the best experience here when I went about a month ago for my first facial!! The front desk staff was friendly and sweet and had answered all of my questions. When other staff members came to the front desk/waiting area, they all spoke to me and said hello. Very very awesome esthetician as well, her name is Brittany and she was amazing. I signed up for their membership because not only do you get a great price for the services they offer, you can actually cancel anytime, unlike massage envy which locks you into a contract. I have nothing but positive things to say about everyone I came in contact with at this establishment. Excellent people and excellent services. read more
