There's nothing more acutely painful than a toothache, putting aside childbirth, and no one better…read moreat treating one--or many--than Dr. Doppalapudiu Among the GP's, obstetricians, surgeons, and orthopedists I've encountered over the years, he's the most knowledgeable, skilled, and generous, not the trio of traits always found in a Harvard grad. He's surrounded by gifted support staff. Someday Kathleen's going to be doing an implant. As a bonus, when pain strikes (a molar cracked, a jagged tooth sliced into my tongue) , I didn't have to ask 'what would Dr. D. do', I called the office and found out. He was away visiting family but responded right away. When description failed, I sent him yukky pictures. He told me what to do and who to see--the dentist who treats his family. The office is about 10 inconvenient miles away, he's not always been in my dental plan, so I pay for the privilege of going there. It's worth every penny.

Every other doctor I have, has a voicemail setup that says at the end:"in case of emergency call 911". Dr. D's office offers a phone number for an emergency and when I had the worst pain I've ever experienced in my mouth on a long holiday weekend, they answered my plea for help and rushed a prescription that Stopped my my trauma in just a few short hours. He is an absolute Saint and there is no one like him in the medical field that I've ever encountered. On top of that his staff such as Kathleen are incredible. If You have gum issues, need an implant, or an extraction, there is absolutely no better place in the Washington DC area than the office of Dr.Doppalapoudi! In these troubled times, it's nice to see some exceptions to the cold mercenary world out there. It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling of hope to know that a truly compassionate Doctor is still i out there!

A very nice experience. I have a bit of anxiety about going to the dentist which resulted in a…read moreseveral year gap between cleanings. Yelp led me to call Dr. Zand and after my first appointment I left very impressed. The facility was modern and well equipped, the staff friendly and helpful and the prices very reasonable. Most importantly, however, Dr. Zand took the time to meet, talk with me and make me feel comfortable beforehand which put my mind at ease (she was also nice enough to not judge me for my long gap between previous appointments). My teeth are now sparkling clean and I have found a new dentist which will keep them healthy for years to come!

This was one of the most frustrating and disrespectful dental experiences I've ever had, and it started before I even arrived. I called the morning of my visit because I was in tooth pain. A dentist personally scheduled me for 3:00 PM since I was coming from work in DC. Shortly after, the front desk called back saying they don't actually have 3:00 PM available and that the dentist "open books" and doesn't see the calendar. She tried to move me to 11:30 AM while I was at work. When I explained I couldn't, I was told I could still come at 3:00 PM but might have to wait. I agreed because I was in pain. "A little" turned into an hour and a half. When I was finally seen, I was then told they might not be able to treat me that day and would instead put in a "plan." They sent in the woman who Handles insurance and I was told nothing could be done because they needed to submit my insurance for approval -- despite the fact that I've been to this office multiple times and have paid my copay without issue. The only time there was ever a payment issue was my very first visit, which was due to incorrect information given by the office and was resolved. I have since returned and paid without any problems. Yet I was told they didn't want the "same problems like last time," which is implying what? This was confusing and upsetting. I was also told 3:00 PM is "late in the day" and that my procedures would not be possible because the doctor has "other patients." If that's the case, why offer and confirm that appointment time? ALL Patients deserve the same care regardless of time. I told this woman I am in pain, and she says "all it says you're getting is a crown and possible RTC." Excuse me? As if you know what pain I am feeling. At that point, it started to feel discriminatory. As a young Black woman, I felt judged and treated as if my pain did not matter, despite being a returning, and paying patient. I left in tears and completely disregarded. Not everyone, but This woman in that office has serious issues with communication, insurance handling, and respect for patients. After multiple visits, negligence, and repeated billing confusion, I will not be returning.
