My experience with this doctor and their office has been extremely disappointing. I was scheduled to undergo surgery to replace my left elbow joint due to a prior fracture that never healed properly. The doctor's office informed me that my insurance had approved the procedure and that a surgery date had been set. Based on that information, my family purchased airline tickets so that my mother could travel and stay with me during my recovery. I later discovered that the procedure had not actually been fully approved and that there were unresolved issues involving the hospital and surgical support staff needed for the operation. As a result, my surgery was postponed, leaving me with a financial loss of approximately $700 in nonrefundable travel expenses. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that I continue to suffer significant pain on a daily basis. Because of these delays, my elbow surgery will now likely have to be postponed until next year due to an upcoming neck procedure that must take priority. I feel that this entire situation was handled poorly and that I was provided inaccurate information that caused me financial harm and unnecessary stress. I am extremely upset by the lack of communication and coordination surrounding my care, and I intend to file a complaint with the Medical Board regarding the way this matter has been handled. Thanks a lot, doctor. read more

Not to mention he disregarded every single point that i have mentioned about my pain and was angry when I didnt follow his direction due to my restricted movement at the time ( which I have specifically mentioned to the nurse). If I had forced myself to do what he have asked, my condition would probably gotten so much worse. if the nurse asks you about your pain prior to meeting the doctor, you may do so but doctor han does not read what the nurse have informed into the system. If i were you i would find elsewhere. read more

We waited about an hour both visits and only had around two minutes with the doctor. The doctor felt rushed, and it was hard to ask questions or feel heard. The clinic also isn't open on Saturdays, which is inconvenient. read more

I being a first generation understand that not others can have the same experience as me because I am noticing bad reviews and honestly it's alot of hatred. I have never been so blown away by a medical professional team and the QUALITY of repairing what was wrong with my broken leg. The staff are just doing their best to care for each and everyone that comes there and there is alot of people but the stars are the doctors! They make up for the staff having alot of patients to work with. I have never been attended to for my injury better anywhere else I recommend everyone come here the Doctors (which should REALLY matter anyways) are highly professional people and they are very knowledgeable, helpful, and I suggest people go to excellent Doctor (I repeat which people should see really matters) care which is here! I never had issue with staff just maybe they are reserved or introverted but maybe they don't have to all these Doctors are what should matter. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My husband broke his ankle in August 2024 and had surgery with Dr. Le to put in screws and a plate. In October 2024 he got his cast off and was sent away with nothing but an ace bandage wrapped around his foot and ankle, he was told to return on December 16th at 10am for physical therapy. The office was supposed to put in for an authorization for a brace and give us a call. No one called so I called the office in November. I was given the run around and told that they are still waiting for the insurance but the person that handles the authorizations wasn't in the office and would return my call. No one returned my call or bothered to follow up with us. It's now December 16 and we were told my husband does not have a physical therapy appointment or an appointment with Dr. Le. Again we were given the run around and a whole new story on physical therapy and how we should have received a letter in the mail. Nothing was ever sent to us just like the missing brace. We now have to wait even longer to start therapy because no authorization was received. This place is a complete joke and the office staff does nothing to help but give you the run around. We are consulting with an attorney because this is negligence on their end. What a complete waste of time. read more

I want to share my incredible experience with Han Orthopedic. After my first hip operation did not go as expected, I consulted with Dr. Han, who recommended a second surgery. Thanks to his expertise and skill, the operation was a complete success--I now have "magic hips!" Beyond Dr. Han's outstanding work, the entire team at Han Orthopedic, including the nurses, x ray technician and staff, provided exceptional care and support. Their professionalism and kindness made the process smooth and comforting. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Han and highly recommend Han Orthopedic to anyone in need of top-quality orthopedic care. I thank God for my body and for sending doctor Han. read more

Dr. Han not only keeps patients waiting for a long time but is also rude to elderly patients. I was truly shocked to discover that he makes the atmosphere extremely irritable and uncomfortable just because a patient speaks before he's finished talking. I had waited more than one hour to see Dr Han 10 minutes. I felt he didn't want to listen and focus to me because there are lots of patients waiting outside. He just tried to leave, I felt. Customer service for physical therapy is very poor. I had an on going issue with my authorization and the office didn't assist in contacting the insurance to verify the body parts I reported. Staff just disregarded my complaints about bother body parts that should be treated and was very dismissive when I'm in such pain! It helps to care about your patients recovery and we'll bring. Otherwise your just collecting checks! If someone has an ongoing issue why not address it and help. Otherwise my treatments were okay. Needed some x-rays, everything went quick very professional very happy. Thank you Doc!!

Hopeless! The doctor came in to see me and uttered just a couple of sentences to his interpreter, and the interpreter said that I needed a total knee replacement and it would be a day surgery. That is what actually happeded on my first and LAST visit. I never had an interpreter for English for the past 78 years. As a matter of fact, I was an English interpreter before I came to live in this country 50 years ago. I have a Ph.D from the University of Chicago and two masters degrers from the universities in this country. read more

I've been to this place a few times, and honestly, it's a real bummer. Like others have mentioned, you better be prepared to waste a couple of hours of your life waiting around. For instance, if your appointment is at 3:30 pm, you'll probably end up seeing the 'nurse' at 4:30 pm, and the doctor strolls in at 5 pm. Now, the weird part is Dr. Han's obsession with making me redo MRIs. This happened not once, but twice! The front desk staff.. Well, one of them is just plain rude, and the other one seems friendly but has no clue what's going on. They gave me a number to text, but it's like sending messages into a black hole. I got one response, and that's about it. I asked them why, and they blamed it on being swamped with phone calls, even though there were plenty of other staff just hanging out behind the front desk. Dr. Han might have some skills, but the constant MRI retakes and the ridiculous wait times, even with an appointment, have made me run for the hills and never look back. This place is a total downer. read more

Dr. Han truly deserves the title of the best shoulder surgeon in Los Angeles. I had seen a handful of the "best" renowned orthopedic shoulder surgeons in the area, including the one who had performed rotator cuff repairs on sports legends like Kobe Bryant and Manny Pacquiao. However, each doctor told me that my rotator cuff tear was massive, and not reparable. Fortunately, another doctor recommended that I see Dr. Han. From the very first meeting, Dr. Han's confidence and expertise were immediately apparent. He took the time to thoroughly assess my case and confidently reassured me that he could arthroscopically repair my massive rotator cuff tear. He compared his innovative rotator cuff repair technique to standard methods, and the differences were obvious. He patiently explained the procedure and showed me numerous cases similar to mine that he had successfully treated. The consultation was unlike any of my other orthopedic doctor visits as he was showing me my rotator cuff tear could be repaired. A year after the surgery, my shoulder has been restored, and I am now free from the nightly pain that had once plagued me. Thanks to Dr. Han's unparalleled expertise, I have been able to reclaim my active lifestyle, including golf, which I thought I might never enjoy again. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Han. In my personal experience, he has proven himself to be the best shoulder surgeon in Los Angeles and the only doctor who could repair my massive "irreparable" rotator cuff tear. read more

I never post reviews, but it feels like a disservice to the public if I stay silent. For anyone looking for a serious orthopedic surgeon, I would highly suggest rethinking going with this business. At first I didn't think much regarding the low-star reviews, but reading them now on Yelp and on Google, solidified everything that happened to my partner. For context, my partner needed shoulder surgery as they were experiencing pain from a shoulder injury that happened when they were young. The pain would usually go away, but over the past year, the pain became so unbearable that they had to seek treatment. Initially, Dr. Han and his staff seemed to be the right choice, but the way they treated my partner has me rethinking everything. Normally, I trust my medical team, but with a doctor like Dr. Han, I can understand why so many people distrust doctors now. Prior to surgery, they misplaced my partner's medical information and tests and were about to reschedule the surgery with less than a day of notice. My partner had spent WEEKS prepping for this surgery so for them to do this on short notice caused so much stress on the both of us. Thankfully, they called towards the end of the day and told my partner their surgery was still taking place after hours of anxiety on our end. After surgery, they never provided my partner with the proper tips or resources to take care of their shoulder until my partner had to explicitly ask for it during their follow up appointment. I can also confirm that Dr. Han does NOT listen to his patients at all. When my partner was complaining about the pain they were experiencing, they were met with ZERO empathy as mentioned in several other reviews. When my partner respectfully questioned Dr. Han's decision, they were then met with what I can only describe as a tantrum. Dr. Han refused to treat my partner simply because they questioned him and then Dr. Han proceeded to escalate the situation by then "firing" my partner as his patient after yelling at them for quite some time. My partner now has to look for ANOTHER doctor all because Dr. Han's ego was bruised. I would never want to wish what my partner went through at Han Orthopaedics on even my worst enemy. Please do your research and avoid this business at all cost if you want proper care before, during, and after your surgery. PS - The staff is at least kind, but there are definite limitations to the services they can provide when they're too busy having to babysit and de-escalate their own boss. Also, the business itself has had a history of removing "negative" reviews, so we'll see how long this stays published. If the business responds, they will most likely accuse me of false information, but this is a pattern that SO many other patients experienced and detailed so think twice of the business's replies and "good" reviews. read more

I will start by saying that I have been in the medical field for over 20 years as a surgical technician at Cedars Sinai and in the orthopedic hip and knee implant industry. I deal with orthopedic surgeons on a daily basis, mainly in the operating room setting. I feel that based on my experience I am very capable to tell you who is a good doctor and surgeon.   Over the years I have met countless orthopedic surgeons and recently met Dr. Yung Han. Given my profession I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Han perform surgery, specifically hip and knee replacements. While Dr. Han is well known for his surgical expertise in shoulder surgery, I can honestly say that he is also an excellent and methodical hip and knee surgeon. So much so that I did not hesitate to seek him out for my own personal treatment with my hip injury.  About a month ago I was involved in a dirt bike accident injuring my upper leg and hip area.  Because of this incident I have been having discomfort when sitting and doing daily activities.  After waiting and not getting any better I made an appointment with Dr. Han's clinic.  Even after having to change my appointment last minute Dr. Han's staff was extremely polite and accommodating.  After that visit and a minor in office procedure the discomfort is gone.  All thanks to Dr. Han and staff!  I will also say that you would be very fortunate to have Dr. Han be your doctor. He really does what is best for the patient. His decision making, medical knowledge, and surgical abilities are tops. Not many people get to see doctors operate. But I do. I didn't need surgery, but if I did, I would want to have Dr. Han do the surgery. read more

My mother first met with Dr. Han for a second opinion after a previous doctor scheduled her for surgery to repair her broken shoulder after a bad fall. At the initial meeting with Dr. Han, he not only concluded that my mother did not need surgery to repair her shoulder but advised that her body could heal on its own with the help of physical therapy. Ever since then, my mother has had nothing but effusive praise for Dr. Han. My mother has also shared with our family that as soon as she met Dr. Han, she immediately felt comfortable and a sense of ease due to his professional and caring bedside manner. With each subsequent visit, she has found Dr. Han to be highly skilled and motivating and his office staff very helpful, and she is pleased with how well her shoulder recovery seems to be progressing. My mother cannot recommend Dr. Han enough to others who are seeking an experienced and caring orthopedic specialist. read more

Dr Han is an extremely knowledgeable orthopedic surgeon. I sought his care to treat residual pain from a shoulder fracture and knee pain by PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy as an alternative to surgery on my shoulder and knees. I have gone to other medical practitioners for this type of therapy; so I can compare their level of expertise with what I experienced when receiving this type of medical care from Dr. Han. Because PRP Therapy is not covered by medical insurance, I have been taken advantage of by some of these earlier medical providers. Dr. Han's prices for PRP Therapy are moderate. He does not take financial advantage of his patients like some of the doctors out there doing PRP Therapy. Also, I am impressed with the tight operation of his orthopedic clinic on South Virgil. They office staff and medical technicians at Han Orthopedics are very organized, quick and efficient. I highly recommend Han Orthopedics. read more

Hi ! I received right total hip arthroplasty via direct anterior approach by Dr. Yung Han on 12/28/2021. I'm writing this review because it is an opportunity for me to express my endless gratitude to Dr. Han, his surgical team and clinic staff, and also a chance to share my experience with those who need help and are looking for the right way to solve their health problems. I have a lot to say.. With all feelings and emotions I can write a poem.. but unfortunately I have to restrain myself and fit into the review format.. briefly and to the point :) In July 2021 I accidentally found out about my diagnosis. I was worried about pain in my side, back, I began to limp, I could not sleep at night due to discomfort and pain, I started taking painkillers Advil and Toylenol. I am a professional dancer and for me these symptoms were problematic and at the same time I tried not to notice the pain for a long time .. in general, when I went to the doctor and had an MRI, I already had stage 4 arthritis and aseptic necrosis of my right hip.. it was a shock!! I am only 49.. I have 3 children, my youngest daughter is only 11.. My whole life is a movement.. My world was rapidly collapsing, I'am not ready to become disabled, I still have so much to do in this life.. I started searching for information about the surgery, studied everything I found on this topic in the Internet, talked to people, read reviews .. At that moment I realized how scary and important how difficult it is to make the right choice !!! After all, this is a life-changing decision, your future and the future of your loved ones depend on it.. Fortunately, among my acquaintances there was a person who recently had the exact same surgery.. Almost the same age as 53.. We met, he told me all the details and, most importantly, showed that he lives absolutely normally and moves as before, even with a greater amplitude.. He had same surgery via Dr. Han ! That's how I found him.. My first appointment was on December 8th and on the December 28th Dr. Han did my surgery. From the first meeting with him, I realized that this is the DOCTOR who is absolutely professional, to whom I can completely entrust my life .. I felt it instinctively. And it wasn't wrong! On the day of the surgery when he asked if I had any questions, after his explanation of the upcoming, I said that I completely trust him and would be the most patient patient, he said that he would do a beautiful job on me.. AND He DID IT! Everything went well and quickly, after two weeks I was able to drive to the appointment myself, and soon returned to work. I feel great. I look to the future with confidence! Thank you !!! Thank you so much !!! If I have to do surgery on my left hip, then I will do it only with Dr. Han! I highly recommend him with confidence and my experience. A true professional, attentive, patient, highly educated! I sincerely wish that my story will help someone make a decision, improve their health, change their lives for the better live without pain !! read more

Han Orthopaedics - Hip replacement - Orthopedists Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Two stars because he's a good surgeon, technically speaking. I had rotator cuff surgery with him in 2016. I know a lot of things now that I didn't then, about my health. But when I finally was referred to him, my shoulder was hot to the touch and infected. He operated right away, but wouldn't give me antibiotics, which I desperately needed, or enough pain meds. I was in a ton of pain afterwards, and healed poorly. It took months and months and I was relatively young, and he commented I was healing slowly, he knew this but was still extremely stingy with pan meds, and I say this because I legitimately NEEDED them, I've never experienced pain like that (thank god) before or after. I do not believe this is a reflection of his skill, FWIW, I mean my pain wasn't his fault or anything. I was living in a rental with black mold (didn't know at the time) and I had lyme disease (again, wasn't aware of this at the time). I developed full body arthritis shortly after, and then peeling skin on my hands and feet that still continues to this day, neurological symptoms and chronic fatigue. I'll cut to the present, but a lot happened obviously, and my shoulder hurt so bad and was so stiff and weak I was convinced it would never be a normal working joint/arm again. Slowly, over time and multiple rounds of pt and injections from a totally different provider, I managed to heal enough to use it somewhat normally. Ok, so it's not like any of this is technically Dr. Han's fault so why the 2 stars? I finally made another appt with him after the pandemic was over, because my shoulder still hurt REALLY bad, like deep throbbing bone pain where he drilled into my shoulder to anchor the tendons with suture anchors. The MRI showed the tendons are inflamed but intact, and that I lost articular cartilage which is a big deal because nothing can fix that, unfortunately. So I went to see him after getting the MRI, and when I went to the office they had wiped everything down with ammonia which is so GD toxic, like why? I forgot to say I also developed multiple chemical sensitivity, and I basically had an asthma attack and couldn't breathe and my skin and throat were burning in the office. I literally almost keeled over - despite having this condition, I can go places normally. I've definitely had to step outside a building, to get fresh air, mostly due to mold or solvents, but this was a chemical nightmare. Yes, I'm hypersensitive but google quats and ammonia, it's very toxic! It broke my heart for all the people working in the office - the constant exposure isn't good for anyone, it's a reproductive tetrogen and carcinogen. Anyway! I was finally seen by him, I told him I was 99% percent sure I was experiencing hypersensitivity to the shoulder anchors or at the very least some kind of localized infection with persistent inflammation and immune activation and I begged him to remove my anchors. He said no, the anchors didn't move, that's the only way he would remove them is if they migrated. He said you're fine, here go do another round of PT. I mean...I'm really not ok, and he wouldn't even entertain the reality that it might be true. He could have ordered an ultrasound or even sent me to someone else to just be rid of me, but he just shut me down and dismissed me. When he initially operated on me, and then again years later, he didn't and still doesn't really seem to acknowledge me or connect with me as a real person, if that makes sense. I know surgeons aren't known for being personable, and it could be cultural but I feel he's very cold and doesn't want to deal with anything outside the spectrum of normal. And here I am, still, in pain, experiencing a disabling constellation of autoimmune issues, inflammation, and pain and wondering how to get these things out of my arm so I can feel normal again and my immune system can just chill the heck out. Sigh. I think, had I not had these issues, the surgery would have been a success, but I write this because I feel like if you have complications, he's just going to yeah yeah yeah you and make you do PT and not acknowledge or want to admit, through no fault of his own even- that sometimes people don't heal well and they might experience a lot of pain and issues. For example, this was years ago but I want to say I needed not wanted but needed pain meds for like 2 months, which seems crazy long. But I would be crying on the floor when they wore off, with my whole arm throbbing with shooting nerve pain. And I had to beg him for pain meds and he made me feel bad about it, like I didn't really need them. Anyway! I'm afraid of losing more cartilage and of other doctors not taking me seriously but this ship sailed. I think he's good in the operating room but I'll never go back. I hope I can find someone to fix this for me though. read more

So, I am now writing this review about 2 1/2 years POST-OP, and I can say that my shoulder that has been worked on by Dr.Han is MORE stable, and MORE stronger than ever. I was 21 when I first dislocated my shoulder and before going to get it checked out by a doctor, I had partially dislocated it about 20-30 times and putting it back in place myself. When Dr.Han first took a look at my shoulder, he was curious on what I was doing to have decimated my shoulder so bad. It made me nervous that I would never be able to be as active and risk-taking as I was, but here I am now, stronger than ever. Honestly, Dr.Han is a professional and an artist in his craft. He does his part (very well) and you have to do your part too after your surgery. You cant disregard all of his PT sessions and expect your shoulder or whatever you had work done on to heal 100% again. Thanks DR.Han. I am a visiting doctor from Korea and I got to follow Dr. Han around for a whole month. I wanted to write this review because I want to share what I saw in the operating room, something that patients don't really get a chance to experience. Dr. Han is an excellent surgeon. He specializes in shoulder repairs, having trained under one of the best shoulder surgeons in the world, but he has expertise in other areas like knees and hips also. He is one of only few orthopedic surgeons who can carry out the most advanced shoulder repair procedures with flawless technique. His patients have amazing prognosis that no one else can provide. His knee replacement surgeries were the most accurate, clean surgeries that I have ever seen, and he carries out all of his surgeries including hip replacements, write/ankle ORIFs in the most professional manner. I was honestly in awe of his attention to detail, quick decision making, and precise techniques. Post-op patients can probably attest to this when they see their woulds sutured perfect with such beautiful technique. Another aspect of his practice that I wanted to share is his patient-centered approach to healing. I've seen so many doctors that push for costly treatments or unnecessary, or even risky surgeries without considering what is best for the patient at their age, activity level, financial status, etc. Dr. Han never pushes patients to unnecessary treatments and always bases his clinical decisions with the patient's complete well-being in his mind. I know this seems really basic but I've experienced so many doctors that only have their own interests in their minds and it is very difficult it is to find a doctor you can trust. Dr. Han is a great surgeon with excellent skills difficult to find in LA but more importantly, someone who treats his patients as he would his own family. I wanted to share this from a doctor's perspective after watching him work over a month, because patient reviews can be a little limited from seeing him for such a short period of time in the clinic. He is highly recommended for any orthopedic issues not exclusive to shoulders but also knees, hips, elbows, wrists, everything! read more

My mother has been visiting Dr. Han for her frozen shoulder and she has made great improvement! Also, the office staff is friendly!

This is my third visit and as expected, Dr. Han went beyond to treat my severe knee arthritis on both knees. I was recommended to get knee replacement surgery on my right knee but I'm getting PRP injection instead. And I'm very happy with that decision because I'm pain free. I can sleep much better because I'm not in pain anymore. Also the nurses and the staff are treating me with respect and caring and most importantly with the professionalism. I don't mind driving more than 24 hours from Texas because Dr. Han and his staff are worth it. Thank you Dr. Han! I and my family really do appreciate you very much. God bless you and your staff. read more

I'm getting old, which is something I don't like to admit...not because I'm vain because there's still so many things I want to do. So you can imagine my distain at both my knees starting to give out. At this stage it's important you find yourself a good orthopedic - so I googled and found this office. I was super happy to meet Dr. David Lee who diagnosed me, gave me an honest an easy treatment protocol, was funny & generally an all around good doctor. It was super helpful they had imaging on site so I didn't have to wait. The office staff was helpful and prompt my wait time was 10 minutes or less, it's a great place. read more

I've seen Dr Han a few times now over the last couple years. Each Time I saw him he took great care to explain what was wrong and the possible options of treatment he suggested after hearing about my medical issues and goals of returning back to sports and regular activities. I appreciated the fact that he did not try to rush me into surgery for my complex shoulder issues. I'm glad to say that I'm doing great now after rehab. The staff were very helpful as my insurance is good but complicated because it's an Employer Funded Plan. I would definitely recommend Dr Han and big thanks to Christine, Daniel, and Elizabeth for helping me navigate the insurance nightmare that we all endure. We pay so much money and expect coverage when we finally need it but without help from them I would have paid a lot more and received less care throughout the rehab and treatment process. Dr. D. Lee, is my surgeon. He performed an ACL Cadaver Replacement (and meniscus repair). Unfortunately, this is my third sports injury requiring orthopedic surgery (ACL, Shoulder, & Nose; needless to say, I have my fair share of experiences with surgeons. To my defense it's all within the span of 20 years of physical contact sports. Anyway, Dr. D. Lee has been súper profesional, PATIENT in responding and educating me throughout my whole process. He encouraged me to obtain second opinions as well, which I did and were as he mentioned. Moreover, he discussed my sports, lifestyle and age with me. Dr. Lee gave me the feeling of comfort, professionalism, intelligence and above all caring for his job and his patients. He personally returned my call and didn't just do a great job on my knee, but also considered my personal profile when discussing my sports, lifestyle, age, rehabilitation etc... I Highly recommend Dr. David Lee. I am about 2 and a half months post knee surgery and I feel amazing; healing better than I imagined. Thank you Dr. Lee! I will definitely reconsider my routines.
