The best Chinese food joint I have ever been to in my life. I have been going here for 3 plus years now and I go there a lot. The food is outstanding. The spice level is kick ass and super flavorful. Christmas dinner and the place is completely packed but the food is still perfect and the waiters and management are working at triple speed to keep all the customers happy. Best Szechuan food in South Jersey. The staff are wonderful and spend a lot of time explaining each dish and guiding you through the menu. They seem very passionate about the food they serve, which makes for a great experience. We had a larger group so we were able to try many different dishes. We visited Han Dynasty on the first Friday it was open. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was some of the BEST food I've ever had! The Dan Dan noodles, while spicy, weren't overpowering. I scarfed them down so quickly, I wasn't sure if I'd have any room for my meal! They were so good I wanted to just dive into a pool of them and gorge myself all day! I ordered a scallop dish (the exact name escapes me but it was on the center of the page, if that's helpful!) which was cooked to perfection. The pork dumplings were great as well, though I had trouble eating them with chopsticks and took them home to eat in the privacy of my house without looking like a piglet! Everyone working was extremely friendly. Although the food was coming out slowly, it was worth it. The staff checked in frequently - just enough to be very helpful, but never taking it to an annoying extreme. The atmosphere is relaxed and very quiet, leading two loud Italians to be a bit out of place. However, we were never once looked at with a side eye or an evil stare, and we did actively work to keep our voices lower than normal - not an easy task! I cannot wait to revisit Han Dynasty and try out more of the wonderful food (and spicier dishes, as I get braver!). read more

I've been to the Hans in University City and Old City a few times, and so I was really excited when I saw the signs going up for a new location in Cherry Hill. Since they've opened I've been in a couple of times and ordered take-out once. The first thing I noticed about the restaurant is the smart layout. The space is organized in such a way that even though it's big, it feels comfortable and never gets too loud. Also nice was the lack of distracting TV's, and the the great background music. The staff was professional, funny, and attentive, and took great care of us. I agree that the spice level is somewhat lower than the other Han's I've been too, but if you ask they can still make you sweat, and I like that here the amazing flavors have a chance to shine without being overwhelmed by heat. And then there's this: When I called in for a pick-up order and asked for recommendations, the person taking my order asked me how long it'd be before I eat. I asked why and he explained that some dishes travel better than others, and others can be packaged separately to preserve flavors/ textures. That kind of attention to detail and respect for the food is really rare, and I'll definitely be in many more times to enjoy it. read more

Based solely on the delivery service as I've not eaten at the restaurant, I'm really puzzled by the accolades this place has received. We found the food to be greasy and the flavours to be very average American Chinese flavours (eg bland and lacking umami). Perhaps our standards are too high based on food we've had in NYC, SF and the LA area, or in London? I think Chinese American restaurants tend to play to their audience and perhaps the cooking here suits the local palate. read more

But I always knew I just needed to find the right place to let me experience GOOD Chinese... Well this place was def what I was waiting for !!! Szechuan heaven !!!! The dumplings in hot oil where AMAZING and obviously freshly made and obviously the dumpling wrap was made from scratch , the Dan Dan noodles where delicious !!! We also got the home style tofu YUMMMM and the dry pot pork (I want some more NOW) !!!! It was all good portions so we had plenty to take home and indulge later lol . Let me point it out at the beginning that the food is really good and we used to go there almost a couple of times every month for lunch from office and mostly take outs for home. Dan Dan noodle is our favorite. Though there service seems to be ok, they are not at all courteous. It seems they feel sad when people come to eat. I would like to add one incident where we went in a group of five for lunch. Gratuity was already added on the total bill of approx of $ 55-60(I don't remember exact amount). So we just added $5 as tip on the card. When we were starting to leave one server came and asked my friend whether it our culture to leave less tip on the table. Frankly we were shocked on hearing this. First there service was not good. They never refilled our water glasses. We asked for spoon, it never came. Totally unexpected! I'm not going to lie, I was craving some Americanized, sesame chicken. At first, I was a little disappointed looking at the menu because I didn't see it and learned that they didn't have any of the "Chinese food" options that we're used to. But oh, was I in for a great surprise. This place is authentic as hell!! I love it! tons of options and everything was so delicious. My husband ordered the Chicken Double cooked. Spice was on-point. I ordered the crispy rice style which had an amazing flavor it was just a little too soupy for me. I've heard amazing things about the Dan Dan noodles and we're actually going to go there tonight to try them. This restaurant was also featured on The Layover with Anthony Bourdain (the Philly location). If you're looking for authentic with amazing flavors, this is the place. OK, so im sort of new at this Yelping thing, i am slightly behind the natural curve of where most of you Elites naturally dwell. I have not visited enough places locally and otherwise to give an accurate appraisal, until now. Now, i am starting to take the advice of some of you knowledgable yelpers and follow your leads straight to the honey hole. Han Dynasty is a newer version of the Old City staple which features he best of Szechuan cuisine. This Han is located in a strip mall along with a saladworks and Sammy Chons K-Town korean BBQ, another spot i am meaning to hit. I was expecting very good, what i got was mind bendingly great flavor profiles and spice level control taken to a new art form. I must mention that we came on a friday night at 6:30 with no reservation and had no trouble being seated immediately. Our greeting from the host was warm as well as from the waitstaff. This is for 3 people sharing everything. apps Dan Dan noodle- need i say more, this is their signature dish and was in a word, bangin. little crunchy savory bits of meat and other good morsels mixed in with the slightly chewy noodle and lots of that spicy sauce at the bottom. Good Lord. We got the spicy crispy cucumbers to accompany that and it was like a sommelier had paired the dishes together. They went so incredibly well together and i kept eating those cucs throughout the entire meal as a palate cleanser. Mains Chicken with scallion, onion, and pepper which was slightly less agressive in spice and said so on the menu, but was still extremely well prepared, juicy and savory and great. The other main to me was the mind blower, the pies de resistonce. I ordered pork belly done cooked twice with leeks and peppers and a spicier black bean sauce. This dish brough the "Fn" house down as it were and sent me into a trance. I could not believe the texture and flavor achieved in this seemingly simple dish. The pork was cut beautifully into thin strips allowing for it to be somewhat meaty and crispy in spots and succuent juicy fatty in others. It was simply heaven. On my opinion this should be their signature dish but whatever, just get it. At the very end and after gathering up some quite hefty leaftovers if you can believe that, we looked at the bill and were astonished. And not in the way one usually is!!!!! O my god, it was 46 dollars with tax and tip. At that momen i realized that i had truly found a diamond here, i personally LOVE szechuan and is hard to find done well. This is the best ive ever had an certainly the best in south jersey. I will be back and often. Great place to bring a group, beer,and wine and taste a whole bunch of great food. I've had the honor to be one of the first patrons at the newest Han Dynasty. Get ready Cherry Hill folk, your taste buds will never be the same. Having been at the Old City location numerous times, I was eager to see if the same essence and flavor would come out in a satellite location. Well it does, same wow on the Dan Dan noodles and I also tried the Kung Pao (shrimp) for the first time and it was awesome. The restaurant expects to be open within the next week or so (around 11/1/12). We were incredibly lucky to walk in on a "trial run". Thank you Han, South Jersey is in for a treat! read more

Yum! Han Dynasty was delicious! I was expecting it to be pretty good due to the high yelp reviews but the food was even better than I expected. The decor is a little lacking and the server (or maybe manager) was a little awkward. But it doesn't matter when food is good at a great price! We saw a small pamphlet when we walked in about some off hour/weekday lunch special. We asked about it and they brought the pamphlet over (it wasn't in their menus). Essentially, we had food for 4 people and it was $50. And there were plenty of leftovers! We started with the famous Dan Dan noodles and the mung bean noodles. Both were awesome! We then moved on to the entrees, which were the dry pepper chicken and the garlic sauce chicken. What I really like about this place is that if you ask for the food to be spicy, they will give it a kick. The dry pepper chicken was a little shocking at first (I am used to having Chinese places say the food is spicy but it's not at all) but was sooo good! Went here for lunch with a couple people some months ago. Just got around to reviewing it. Saw that this place was extremely popular (according to Yelp), and actually made it to like the top 50 restaurants according to CNN. Had high expectations, but that's not the reason for disappointment. Service was pretty terrible. The host was an older, heavy set gentlemen who was talking loudly on his cell phone and even playing on it in front of us as we dined. Normally wouldn't care, but service was lacking due to his distraction (waters didn't get refilled, didn't check up on us, etc). Food was overpriced and honestly not that much better than your typical hole-in-the-wall take out place in Philly. Had the fried rice which was just terrible. The rice was barely fried, tasted mostly of egg and oil. Gf had Dan Dan noodles which literally tasted like Peanut Sauce mixed with Srirachi, not at all what it's supposed to be like. Dad had some lamb stir fry. It was overly coated in corn starch, so the lamb was extremely chewy that it almost tasted like a cheap cut of beef. We came at 4pm, so it was quiet, only 1 other table. That table was shooing away flies. Flies, not fly. Like 3-4 flies kept buzzing around which was disgusting. 1 or 2 I can understand, especially in early fall, but that many? Come on. Almost forgot the mention apps, had 2 items, but I only ate the Dumplings. Dumpling sauce was good, but the dumpling itself was extremely doughy. If I were nit-picky, I would complain that there weren't any scallions in the sauce, but eh. Overall, a pretty terrible dining experience. We came here with high expectations and were not disappointed! The fella that greeted us was eating his own dinner when we walked in, but still had a great attitude and a smile while he seated us. The staff were fast and friendly while taking our order. The place was clean and had a nice, open feeling about it. They brought out ice water and a very nice tea while we looked over the menu even though we already knew what we wanted to try. (advice from previous reviewers) We ordered the dumplings in chili oil and the dan dan noodles. I told the waiter that he could bring them at the same time since one is an appetizer. He let me know that the noodles take less time and would be out first, which was okay with me :) Now, onto the food! The noodles did indeed arrive first. The waiter brought them to the table in a nice bowl and mixed them for us, stirring all of those wonderful flavors together. As soon as he began to stir, this delicious aroma hit us and my mouth was watering. I had never had dan dan noodles before, so my first bite was unlike anything I had tasted before. For anyone else like me reading these reviews, they taste peanutty, sweet, and spicy. You get these little pieces of pork that just make them that much better. They have a velvety feel on the lips - somewhat due to the oil (in a good way). I am kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff, but these were not that hot. I was glad for the glass of ice water though. Next came the dumplings in chili oil. At first, I saw these pretty little dumplings in red chili oil and I was afraid they would be too spicy, but surprisingly, they were also kind of sweet. Two of us had an awesome dinner in a nice, friendly, clean restaurant for just over $15.00 before tip. Not too shabby! I can't wait to come back to the area next year and eat here again. Finally - good Chinese food on this side of the river! I've gone to the Han Dynasty in Old City, Philadelphia for lunch a number of times and loved it. So when Han Dynasty opened in Cherry Hill, I brought my family here and they love it also. Our favorites are the cumin chicken, spiced cabbage, double-fried fish and beef with scallions. I like the cumin chicken much more than the cumin lamb, even though I love lamb and generally prefer lamb dishes to chicken dishes (maybe because I have chicken more often). Recommend the sweet pea leaves as well. The service is good. They are trying hard to please as they just opened recently. If you like spicy Chinese, this is the place to go.. You can dial the spice level up or down according to your taste. For example, I order the cumin chicken at spice level 8 (out of 10) because I like it fairly spicy, but any hotter would be torture for me. read more

I have been here numerous times and have always enjoyed the food and service. But today when I came in I noticed a pet peeve of mine was different, they finally changed the awkward placed music and put more appropriate music for the restaurant on! Usually I'm enjoying my meal baffled by the type of music playing, but today I hardly even noticed it was on. I was a little nervous about ordering for delivery because all the reviews on deliveries were poor. But I had gotten takeout once and it was good, so I decided to give delivery a try, especially when I knew I was getting home late and wanted food by the time I got home. There aren't many places that deliver around here. I was very pleasantly surprised! Food was excellent! I ordered only two items - pea leaves with garlic and three cup chicken. Both were delicious! I requested reduced oil, and indeed the food that arrived was not greasy. The order was expensive - about $50 for just the two dishes and rice, including $5 delivery and tip (they didn't even offer fortune cookies) - so I won't be ordering often. I have plenty of leftover for tomorrow though, so perhaps $50 is not terrible? I would love to try other dishes next time. read more
