Unfortunately, there wasn't enough chairs so we had to ask inside to borrow some. Also, the majority of the tables outside hadn't been cleared with dirty cups and plates still left out. We ordered a sandwich and a toastie from the lunchtime menu, which took ages to arrive (at least 30 minutes, far too long for just a sandwich). The food itself was OK. This cafe has so much potential, so it was a shame to have such a poor experience on this visit. My feedback to the management would be, - Get a sign put up on the building with the cafe name on it. - Create a website with all the menu options on it. - Offer free WiFi to customers. - Provide more outdoor seating. - On our visit the staff looked stressed and unable to keep up with the pace of orders. It felt like a kitchen manager was needed to give then some direction/leadership.

I reviewed the café in Rothwell Park before it changed owner and name and, having been told how…read moremuch better it had got I decided to pay a return visit. My first impression was that the place does look better although it was a bit messy the day I visited and sadly they store a big jumble of summer stuff in an alcove next to the dining area through the winter months which doesn't look good. The food is ok but won't win any prizes and the coffee is pretty standard. All this wouldn't matter too much as this is a handy place to get refreshments whilst visiting the park but for some reason they feel justified in charging city centre prices for a fairly bland café experience. It's good to see that the Pavillion is working, with some considerable success, to be an integral part of the community, they do special festive meals and they are dog friendly (which is a real plus for any park establishment).

Too busy chatting ignoring us. No hello no smile nothing. I had to go back to ask for milk. the drinks by this time were cold. it wasn't that they were too busy, just couldn't be bothered. The tables were filthy and needed disinfecting, wonder they are not closed down.Made to feel we were not welcome. such bad management.No social and people skills. worse place I have ever visited.Never again. I was wandering round the Peak District with my family as a mini-break from our big vacation (read…read moreupcoming family wedding). My buddy and his girlfriend opened a cafe about a year ago and after some extensive goggle mapping, I realised I was a 20 minute drive from them. Aptly named "Cafe Adventure" we set off to walk in as a surprise guest, just dropping in (from Hong Kong)... Also, we were starving. The cafe has a homey feel to it with wooden tables, mismatched chairs. For me, the selling point on venue is the outdoor space. With tables, chairs and an awning you can happily enjoy the British weather with a side of coffee. We ordered a range of breakfasts, from English fry ups (complete with black pudding) to sausage sandwiches to crumpets. All the ingredients were fresh with that gorgeous local feel to it. I found the bread (baps and bloomers) are sourced from a bakery in Sheffield. Err, hello and yes please. I was the sausage sandwich recipient and gobbled this down without a second thought. Coffee is also good here and my family went for a couple of rounds. Value add - ask Bill (my pal) for some local walks. He and his partner, Rachel, are avid cyclists full of local knowledge. Bill sent us off (with a car load of baked goods too, hello sultana flapjacks) to Mom Tor for a little stroll and some beautiful views. Although I may be slightly biased with my review, as a tourist to the area, Cafe Adventure is the perfect spot for a coffee and a good slice of British cuisine whilst on a tour of the Peak District.
