It was just a simple repair and honesty, I wish we'd called someone else. The service guy was on time, very pleasant and efficient (I wish I could remember his name because he was quite nice and did a good job and there's your 1 star), but we found dealing with the management / ownership a very unpleasant experience. **Update: This company keeps messaging me and trying to have my reviews removed. I want to be clear that this is for Montauk Plumbing & Heating on Edgemere, just east of Fort Pond and my review stands.

For example, they installed a free-standing tub backwards with the drain exposed to the room, installed a sink that was smashed on one side close to a wall (apparently hoping we would not notice the damaged they caused), and forgot to include parts on three Duravit in-wall toilets that have caused constant leaks. I'm sure there are more plumbing problems in our house that haven't been revealed yet. Our GC (who was awesome) fired them in the middle of the job and replaced them with StraightEdge Plumbing. The StraightEdge team is everything CZ is not - professional, reliable, and knowledgeable.

The driver charged $350.00 for a 10 minute job. My friend offered to pay by credit card but the driver insisted on cash and followed my friend to the bank. My friend asked if there was some kind of veteran discount and explained that he is a wounded combat veteran. The driver and the owner who I called later DID NOT CARE. They're just about money. I truly hope there is such a thing as Karma and they pay for how they treat people. Another friend broke down just three blocks from their shop. They charged $1,500.00 to tow the truck three blocks. They said it was because my friend could not get a ride to pick up the car for a couple of days. Please, spread the word and find someone else if you need any work done on your car or need a tow.

Our a/c was cycling on and off repeatedly. Called our years-long service company Friday morning,…read morewho told us no one available til Monday and also tried to sell us a service contract without really being able to explain whether or how much it might save us on repair. When I asked for ballpark, they said sounds like your 15 your-old system is too old to fix (coolant is no longer being used, so hard to re-charge system, etc. etc.), so could be $12-15k to replace. That's when I cold-called Action Air, just based on favorable Yelp rating and long time (9+) years in business. The woman I spoke to said they'd be there LATER THAT SAME DAY (Fri) and would keep me posted when he was in the nabe. I got a text at 4 pm saying tech on his way. David showed up within minutes. He was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient ... and honest. Made a quick circuit of our equipment (compressor, air handler, thermostat), and promptly determined it was just a thermostat issue. He went out to his truck and replaced the thermostat, explaining how it worked and giving us the user's manual from the box it came in. While there, he checked our air filters and the compressor, took a couple readings at the compressor and told us everything looked great, and that we should just hose out the grill around the outdoor compressor fan, noting that it was located close to a dryer vent so needed extra attention. Bottom line: This is just what. you want and need in a repair company, particularly when you're talking about equipment you may know very little about so could be at the mercy of dishonest vendors. Can't recommend Action (and David) highly enough. Saved me possibly thousands of $$$.

We called on a Friday in the late afternoon and in 2 hours Riley was there and couldn't have been more pleasant or competent. He came up with a temporary fix that allowed us to turn the water back on until we could have ductwork removed to give him access to repair it permanently. He tested the area with air, so he wouldn't risk water leaking. He went through the whole house to make sure there weren't any other leaks and even checked the water meter to make sure water wasn't leaking where it couldn't be seen or heard.
