When I asked about this, I was told that it was how those fans are. (In fact, I have others that are much quieter.) Then they installed a new electrical panel, refused to close up the holes they made in our wall, left wires exposed and refused to label the circuit breakers. Not a good experience!!

Walking away shaking their head. Asking Me to have Ocean electric call them! I told them, they won't even call me! I'd look for another Company on Long Island to do anything of significance. Communication is key when having a job done and this company lacks it. Your never too big to treat your customers right Ocean.

They claim they sent 3 guys who spent 2.5 hours to complete the job and charged me $929. They refused to modify the bill when I called them out on it. This bill should have been no more than $370. They are non appologetic price gougers of the first degree and are basically ripping off their customers.

Right from the start, I liked the fact that they answered the phone and I didn't have to keep pushing buttons to get to the right person. I was told that they stood behind all their work and they would make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. Before Alex came to my home, I received a photo of him. He was confident and friendly and I immediately felt I was in good hands. Originally it looked like it was going to be a bad situation with the toilet and that the floor might have to be torn up. Alex showed me what the problem was and I could now see why the toilet couldn't be installed correctly in the first place. Alex called his boss and discussed what needed to be done. He was able to do it without damaging the floor, which was a huge relief. I trusted that 1-Tom did the best job possible for me while avoiding major repairs. He also had some great suggestions and input on the project and location in the house, in terms of what's best to save money and simplify all the moving parts--which I really appreciated. We called on a Friday in the late afternoon and in 2 hours Riley was there and couldn't have been more pleasant or competent. He came up with a temporary fix that allowed us to turn the water back on until we could have ductwork removed to give him access to repair it permanently. He tested the area with air, so he wouldn't risk water leaking. He went through the whole house to make sure there weren't any other leaks and even checked the water meter to make sure water wasn't leaking where it couldn't be seen or heard. He was there for just under an hour. They are very fairly priced, although we weren't in a negotiating position. That's extremely unusual for the Hamptons. I recommend them without reservation!

I'm sure there are more plumbing problems in our house that haven't been revealed yet. Our GC (who was awesome) fired them in the middle of the job and replaced them with StraightEdge Plumbing. He had to install a Lutron Dimmable Switch Starter kit in two bedrooms and instead installed a Lutron product that was a fraction in cost of the better product. He had two other workers with him and spent all of 57 minutes unscrewing the switch plates and screwing in the new product and charged me $450. I had so much going on that morning that it didn't dawn on me that i had gotten ripped off. Its gets better, I called him because he recommended that i purchase the Caseda bridge product (another $129) so I did and if i had any questions i could call him, and he would help me out, so i did just that, I called him. He basically told me i had to make an appointment so that i could pay him for his time to help me trouble shoot my issue. This is NOT the type of person you want to hire. There are many other honest hard working people that do great work.

When I asked for ballpark, they said sounds like your 15 your-old system is too old to fix (coolant is no longer being used, so hard to re-charge system, etc. etc.), so could be $12-15k to replace. That's when I cold-called Action Air, just based on favorable Yelp rating and long time (9+) years in business. The woman I spoke to said they'd be there LATER THAT SAME DAY (Fri) and would keep me posted when he was in the nabe. I got a text at 4 pm saying tech on his way. David showed up within minutes. He was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient ... and honest. Made a quick circuit of our equipment (compressor, air handler, thermostat), and promptly determined it was just a thermostat issue. He went out to his truck and replaced the thermostat, explaining how it worked and giving us the user's manual from the box it came in. While there, he checked our air filters and the compressor, took a couple readings at the compressor and told us everything looked great, and that we should just hose out the grill around the outdoor compressor fan, noting that it was located close to a dryer vent so needed extra attention. Bottom line: This is just what. you want and need in a repair company, particularly when you're talking about equipment you may know very little about so could be at the mercy of dishonest vendors. Can't recommend Action (and David) highly enough. Saved me possibly thousands of $$$.
