The service was great. The gentleman behind the desk was wearing the bling, and he really made us feel comfortable. We were even able to get a toothbrush for the both of us because we forgot ours. We stayed at this hotel last Friday. Our son stayed as well. I told the front desk that I wanted to pay for his room and they said fine. My son called after we returned home to tell me that he was also charged for the room. After talking to the motel several times, and both credit card companies, it seems that The Hampton Inn is comfortable with this situation and tell us that we need to deal with the credit card companies who tell us they can't help if the hotel charged us both for the same room! I have never stayed the night at this Hampton Inn. I can only review it on behalf of the customer service of their lobby attendance the cleanliness of the location and the use and quality of their conference rooms. For work we have booked their conference rooms on quite a few occasions. They have two available the one on the first floor can hold upwards of 30 people. It has several banquet style tables and chairs and a screen for a projector. It has a side counter with a sink cupboards in the small refrigerator. The smaller conference room is located on the second floor. It has a large oval table and big comfy chairs. It can hold about a dozen people. It has a dry a race and a bulletin board and you can also use the dry erase board to put your projector on. It too has a small refrigerator counter and sink off to the side. The drawback of this conference room is that you have to go down the elevator and down past the pool to the restrooms. Whereas in the other conference room the restroom is right across the hallway. The staff is always pleasant and greets you and refers you bye yes sir yes ma'am. They always look very polished and are very considerate. The rooms are in very good condition and are clean. This hotel was built in 2006. The lobby is clean and well decorated. Each time I have been to this location they have several cars in their parking lot and must you pretty good business. My business will continue to do business at this location when ever we need to have a meeting in the Waterloo area. read more

Nice stay and the living quarters are nice. At $200 a night it's a bit too expensive and just not the best of the best to me. But for business travelers it's where most seek stay before anywhere else. All the other big name hotels are within a stones throw of the front door. Mornings they serve some breakfast, fresh baked cookies are available at the main desk all day long. (Most of the time) They have Wi-Fi and offer a lined connection in every room. During my stay the wi-fi was fluctuating in and out and it was a pain to reenter the password over and over. Sometimes the connection wasn't granted. Quite annoying when working in bed. Rooms come with one of those portable laptop desks, so you can balance your laptop on your lap in bed. Small refrigerator and a microwave (?). While my stay the hotel was full and I didn't hear anything from the neighbors which is a plus. I've stayed at some so called four star hotels and heard far more than I'd wanted to; thinner walls at those places. The washrooms do not have fans / ventilators so if you are sharing a room with a stinky pooper, you are in for a gross awakening! AAARGH! In the strip mall across the way is a Dollar General with air fresheners for a dollar or less. Would've been nice if they had a general store here. Swimming pool and a small workout area is included. read more

I have been going to Waterloo for business for the last couple years. I have tried 4 different hotels, and find the Hampton Inn the best by far. It is a fairly typical Hampton, although the lobby area is larger than others. Compared to other Hamptons, I would rate it above average. It just feels nice walking into the hotel. I don't get that depressing business hotel feeling. Coffee and tea are available 24 hours in the lobby, and the coffee is decent. Breakfast provides calories, but that is about it. I often go down the road to Panera or Starbucks for breakfast. The bathroom is typical of hotels. It is large enough that you don't have to shut the door to get into the shower or otherwise use the facilities which is all I ask. It was clean, although on my last trip, there was a used towel hanging on the back of the door. That was a first for me at this hotel. The price is slightly higher than other hotels I have tried in the area, but it is definitely worth it. read more

Darned fine hotel. I hadn't ever stayed at a hotel in Waterloo before - just crashed with friends/family - but after my experience with the Hampton Inn, I will think twice about ever snoozing on someone's basement couch again. Because this place is NICE. I had initially balked at the price, even though it was pretty much the norm for the area now (I guess). For $109/night I got a single king room with a good-sized mini-fridge and a microwave, a HUGE bathroom with a double-stall sized shower and even free wifi! And a lap desk for my laptop! They also offered a free breakfast every morning, parking was right out front, housekeeping was very nice, there's a pool and a hot tub and a workout room...this hotel was great and I would totally stay here again and refer my friends who travel there on business to stay there. read more

I stay here every time I come to cedar falls. Yes, I could find a hotel in Cedar Falls to avoid a 15 minute drive, but this place never disappoints so they continue to get my service. The property is always clean. I've never had a bad experience with a worker. The breakfast is always on par. Coffee is always full. I have nothing close to negative to say about this place. My family and I visit Waterloo about once a year and we always stay at Hampton Inn. The staff always welcomes us back and goes above and beyond to ensure our stay is comfortable. The hotel grounds are well-kept and clean, as are the rooms. One time I left an expensive item in our room and didn't realize it until we were almost out of Iowa. I called the hotel in a panic, afraid that I'd never see it again. I had no reason to worry... the honest housekeeping staff had turned in my item and the woman at the front desk offered to send it back to me! This is the place to stay if you are spending a night or two in Waterloo. Friendly staff, complimentary snacks and water while you wait to check in (when is the last time you could snag a bottle of water in a hotel and not look for the $3.00 addition to your hotel bill later??--NOT HERE!), small exercise room (new equipment, however!) and indoor pool/hot tub. Double bed rooms are spacious with good sized fridge (that's actually cold), microwave, flat screen tv, office desk, etc. The bathrooms were very pretty and HUGE; great for a family! Not even a second thought about giving this hotel 5 stars! Haven't had breakfast yet, but I predict it will be good...everything else is....okay, editing my review...the breakfast looked good, but I did not get to try any...was pushing time to get to my meeting, but low and behold...they had brown bag breakfasts "to go" for those of us who did not have time to sit down and eat...cool! read more

Just stayed here, and I have to say, I think this is THE nicest hotel in Waterloo. When I checked in, the front desk staff warmly greeted me, and notified me that in the room I was staying in, there were four pillows, and asked if I would like more. Then when I arrived in the room, I discovered there were only 2 sets of towels, so once again, I asked the front desk for assistance, and once again, they very kindly said someone would be right up. Within 5 minutes, my pillows and towels arrived at my door! The night I stayed, there were terrible storms that rolled through the area, so I thought that I would be up all night listening to them, especially because I was on the top floor. Not true! The hotel was soundproof! The rain was barely audible, even with the TV off! My only problem was that the Internet was terribly slow, and the wifi kept breaking up in my room, but these are tiny compared tongue great this hotel was! read more
