I stayed at the Best Western over Thanksgiving, but had to leave early because of the winter storm. Unfortunately, they wouldn't refund the unused night. Based on this experience, I wouldn't stay here again. read more

What a fabulous find! We rolled in around 1 or 2am, exhausted. There wasn't anyone in the lobby, so, we went ahead to the parking garage & came back. The parking garage is conveniently located, easy to access, spots are reserved for guests & validated. On our return, the desk was still empty so we called as instructed. We were greeted promptly by staff, including a trainee. Both were friendly & we were checked in quickly to our VERY QUIET ROOM. I was expecting it to be noisy on rolling up, but we were pleasantly surprised by the sound-deadening brick added to the walls. We slept great! The room temperatue didnt fluctuate wildly & the bed was comfy. We skipped breakfast we slept so well. If I were to really look for something to complain about, it would be that there were 3 decaf coffee pods & only one caffeinated. We brought our own, so turns out we didn't have to fight over the good 1 read more

Out of the hotels I have stayed at in the area I highly reccomend this one. Staff is friendly and very understanding and if they do not know the answer they will find it and get back to you. There is a restaurant in the hotel. It was okay but not really anything to write home about. I wanted soup but was told they had not made any for the day even though there menu says they have it everyday and the day I wanted it, it was below freezing. Order a grilled cheese instead. Came with fries which were good. Grilled cheese came on texas toast bread that while soft and gooey had barely any flavor and was very dry. Not a lot of parking around the hotel but you can park your car in the parking garage across the street and then take the skywalk back to the hotel. I wish there were more signs about where the skywalk is located in the garage. I stayed in the queen suite which was absolutely lovely! The beds were the comfiest I have had while staying in a hotel. The kitchen was fully stocked with kitchenware and plenty of space to relax. I loved the view and secureness of the building. You have to have a keycard to get the elevator to go above the third floor. Cleanliness was actually really good. The only think was that there was a major layer of dust on top of the cupboards which my cat found when she was walking up there. I literally thought she had stepped in white paint. The only other thing was a broken handle to the door in between the living area and the bedroom read more

Call me a hotel snob, but I absolutely will not stay at a crappy cheap motel ever again. We were in town for NDSU football game at UNI dome in nearby Cedar Falls. Researching hotels and Cedar Falls was super expensive. I found this on booking.com. It was about $100 a night. We had a king handicapped accessible room. I did not need this, but it was available. The parking fee of $5 in a ramp was not disclosed on booking.com. We parked on metered street as it wasn't enforced til Monday. The econo lodge lot that our room faced had plenty of open spots. I didn't eat and went to vending machine for snacks. These were to be on floors 5 and 7. Floor 7 was missing a machine. The front had sundries but I didn't buy anything. The breakfast was free and at a breakfast room. The conveyor belt pancakes were cool. The homemade yogurt was awesome and I brought 2 cups home. The room was clean, engineered wood floors and spacious. Saw fellow NDSU fans here. Definitely a great value and nice hotel. read more

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our girls getaway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The overall cleanliness of the hotel and rooms were astonishing. The attached bar and restaurant is one of the best places we've been. The bartender and waitresses are so warm, welcoming and personable. The food and drinks are absolutely devine. I would definitely stay here again!! read more

We really really enjoyed everything about this place. The remodeling they have done puts this in a very high category. The parking was a major problem but that wasn't true at all. It was safe and well lit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great experience. read more

Breakfast is what you would expect from a best western. Location is as good as it can get in Waterloo, there are a lot of food options and a BP in walking distance I went with my soccer team and we were very noisy but luckily the soundproofing here is very good and noise from other rooms or from the hallway was non existent. Pool was excellent relative to the average pool in size, but the fitness room only contained dumbbells and running machines, but at least they have one. All rooms come with 2 beds so it may not be the best solo venture. There are vending and ice machines. Elevators were noticeably slow if you were not going up from the lobby, and most of the time you are better off taking the stairs if you can. That being said the stairwells themselves are dirty, although everything else in the hotel was clean. There is metered street parking that is turned off on the weekends, but you can also park in the ramp which is catered towards hotel guests, the ramp is accesible by skyway from the hotel and vice versa, although the skyway is not air conditioned, so it was really hot when I stayed, and it could be quite cold in the winter. Overall, a really great experience for Waterloo but there are some glaring foibles that need fixing to earn a five stars. read more

Coming from Waterloo, it was nice to stay downtown so I could reminisce about my childhood. This location is so easy to hop on and off the highway and get to where you need to go. It has been newly renovated. I love that they now have tile in the rooms instead of carpeting. Made everything feel really clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms seem well insulated, we heard nothing. Appreciate that there is covered parking for the car and as long as you hold on to your ticket, getting in and out was a breeze. Despite the current pandemic, this was one of the better breakfasts. They had individually wrapped items including things like muffins, pastries, French toast, breakfast biscuits, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, applesauce, apples in addition to the typical juice and coffee. The secod day they did also have sausages and scrambled eggs you could add veggies and cheese to. They have a game room, a pool, and a workout area. read more

The people who work here are really nice (shoutout to front desk) but some of them are more on top of it than others. There's definitely a lack of communication between departments. Needs a lot more organization. I swear I haven't seen a single soul enter the "restaurant" in there, and now it's like never open. You have a bunch of people coming in for a conference or whatever, and you closed down another place of revenue? Sounds like a stupid decision. Rooms are fine, I don't think I'd wanna do a long term stay here again though. Also I don't think this place is up to fire code bc whenever I tries to use the stairs all the doors were locked and I couldn't get into any floors, so I guess if this place burns down we're all going w it. Smells weird in the halls, like smoke and stuff, so clearly no one heeds the no smoking laws. The way the place is laid out in general is really weird, like I can only access the pool/laundry through this one elevator at the end of the hall. The whole place has the vibe of "was fancy in the 70s/80s" but is clearly outdated in some ways. Maybe fine for an overnight stay, but I'd skip for a long term one. read more
