I view this as a 2-star hotel that gets an extra bump up because of good service by the manager on duty. My wife and I arrived exhausted from an overnight drive to Waldorf. They technically don't let people check in before 3pm and we were there before 1pm. The front desk clerk was less than enthusiastic about working with us and even begrudgingly acknowledged and thanked my wife for her diamond Hilton status. She was planning to put us in a room worse than what we reserved until the manager showed up and said they need to take care of diamond members. She then gave us a solid room and early check in. As tired as we were, we were super grateful. The room decor was fine. The bed was not very comfortable and be warned that the shower door only opens on one side. While it looks like a double slider it is not. The problem with this is that it forces you to enter the shower directly under the running water instead of at the back and where you can better gauge when you want to get wet based on water pressure and temperature. The couch also had stains on it and the breakfast was average at best. But of course the breakfast was free so I won't complain much about that (you get what you pay for). The staff was hit and miss with some being cheery and friendly and others looking past you like you don't exist. I also got a chuckle at the fact that when we checked out via the app the tv instantly switched from the channel to the generic welcome screen. I guess that means get out this instant! I've never seen a switch so fast. But that's ok. The manager made the experience better but overall it was an adequate stay that could/should have been better. read more

We stayed here last weekend for the motocross event at Budd's Creek. I was impressed by this hotel! I travel a lot and frequent Hilton & Hamptons. This hotel has been upgraded the halls, rooms and decor are nice. The staff was very friendly as well except the Friday morning gal checking our room numbers for breakfast was on her phone the whole time. Also, Saturday morning breakfast was late 6:10. We almost had to miss it we all had to leave for our event. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Frequently Dirty RoomS (plural): I used to frequently stay at this hotel for business travel and for 30% of the stays I had to change rooms because of the unsanitary conditions of the room to include floors not being vacuumed, dirty toilet, and someone else's hair in the sink, tub, towels, and sheets! The hotel has an extremely high turnover with staff and housekeeping does not "keep house!" If you are not "100% satisfied (according to Hilton's promise)" their solution is to decline future reservations rather than improve quality! Overall, the hotel is extremely poorly managed! I am most thankful that there are cleaner and nicer Hilton hotels in the area that truly represent the Hilton brand! read more

this review is mainly thanks to duchess, who hooked us up! we arrived in town after a red-eye flight and a long drive in morning DC traffic. we were there for a family reunion, which meant the next few days would not be very conducive to getting lots of rest! we were hoping to have a bit of time to unwind and maybe catch a nap. unfortunately, the hotel was sold out the previous night. fortunately, duchess was there, and she managed to snag us a quiet, large room on the third floor that was ready for us when we arrived around 8:30am! the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. the shower felt divine after such a long night. we even got there early enough for the breakfast, which we sampled before heading up to our room. THANK YOU, DUCHESS!!! i honestly don't know what we would've done without her friendliness and willingness to help us out. probably cried in the lobby or tried to sleep in our tiny rental car :) i've taken a star away for the breakfast. the first morning, which was a weekday, was actually great. the maple sausage is one of my favorites, and we liked the fruity waffle batter flavors. the omelettes were better than the scrambled eggs. i do wish there was some fresh fruit or berries beyond just apples and bananas, but overall the selection was decent. the weekends, however, not so great. the food tasted older and just not as good as the first day. the kitchen staff were slow to replenish the food/juice, and kind of resistant to replenishing anything within a half hour of breakfast closing. i could understand more if it was 5-10 mins before closing, even though technically that's still breakfast time, but a half hour before is cutting breakfast quite short for anyone who had slept in a bit. all in all, we'd definitely return if we're back in the area, and that is mainly due to the hospitality duchess showed us as we checked in. read more

Room was supposed to be "made up" every 2 days. What we got was new towels and the trash cans emptied. The old towels were left behind, bed not made and no more TP. Let the front desk know. Was told I could have a bag to put the dirty towels in no problem and set them outside the door. No apology. No TP available but was promised when the cleaning staff came in. Never was given any and ended up having to go buy some. The whole place is looking run- down. read more

Though at least 45 minute drive to DCA and downtown...the place was close to shopping (mall) and restaurants and 25 minutes away from Tanger outlets. The hotel has a decent size gym and offers free breakfast. Right outside the hotel is Carrabas Italian restaurant and Cracker Barrel (my favorite). They have comfortable bed and offers refrigerators and microwave in the room. The staff are kind and efficient. I would stay here again. read more

My husband, son, and I stayed at this clean and friendly hotel January 2023. Our rooms were ready by 1 o'clock, even though check-out had been at noon. I never expected to be able to check in so early. The rooms were immaculate, towels were even soft and stacked up neatly. Bed were amazingly comfortable with plenty of blankets. When I complimented the staff, you could tell by the expression on their face, how proud they were. Definitely an eleven on a scale of one to ten! read more

The front desk employee Ms. Nesbit which was also the manager was amazing. She fixed a bad situation and really calmed me down. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights via the 800 number and somehow it got completely messed up. My 17 year old daughter was having her friends stay there so they could hang out. So getting the accommodations correct was essential. Ms. Nesbit tirelessly helped us correct the error. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because housekeeping didn't replenish our washcloths the next day and left trash outside of our door but everyone is allowed to have an off day. I rarely write reviews, however because the experience was not pleasant I need to share my experience. I was at the hotel during the July 4th weekend 2022 for a mini family reunion. When my family and I arrived the adjoining rooms that were reserved for us was given to someone else during the previous shift. The hotel clerk who checked us in was professional and she was able to find non-adjoining rooms on the same floor. My sister and I shared a room, when we arrived to the room it was obvious the room was used. The outline of someone's buttocks were on each of the beds. The phone had dust all over it. The bathroom was dirty. So my sister and I went back to the front desk to request another room. When we arrived at the newly assigned room it was not well cleaned. There was paper on the floor. The light and walls had dust. There was dust surrounding the AC unit. The refrigerator was leaking water. There was white stains and hair on the trim of the beds. My sister and I were tired and we decided to stay in the room because it was not going to get better. My sister cleaned the room and sprayed the bedding with Lysol. The room was dirty. For a COVID cleaning protocol, it was unacceptable. After cleaning the room, my sister informed our parents about the condition of our room. My sister then went to our parents rooms to clean. The room our parents were in was not as dirty as the room we were in however it was dirty. I took several pictures of the room my sister and I were in. I will post a few with this review. I do not recommend this hotel, it is not sanitary. The cleaning crew need to be retrained. read more

When traveling overnight from Rhode Island to North Carolina, the family and I normally stop halfway at this hotel to break up the driving and get some rest. We always inform the hotel we will be checking in after midnight; which we have done many times before at this hotel A new person was working the desk and was not able to find our reservation. After calling their supervisor, they discovered the hotel canceled our reservation because we did not check in by midnight. The person helping us was not sure how to override the system and book our room. It was about 3 am and they made me and my family wait over 35 minutes to find a room and enter my information. On our return trip, we plan to find a new hotel that doesn't cancel your reservation, even after confirming a late check-in after midnight. read more

I stay here frequently due to business travel. I have my choice of hotels in the area but I choose to stay here. Really clean, nicely appointed hotel. I've never had a issue with cleanliness or customer service their staff is great. The only draw back is it's not in a great location and I've had to ask my room to be move due to noisy guest, thin walls I was told by the staff, but fortunately the staff is great an makes accommodations. Stopped here on our way home during a recent road trip. Facility was clean and the free breakfast was a great bonus. But what really has me loving this hotel is the customer service. We departed the hotel around 7:30am. When we got home around 12:20pm we realized my daughter forgot her favorite stuffed animal at the hotel. We contacted the hotel and they were able to search the room and recover it for us. They then shipped the stuffed animal home for us using the card we had on file. Even sent us an email to let us know it was on the way with tracking. They have a customer for life in my daughter. We were so very thankful to be able to tell her that her bunny wasn't lost forever. Before staying...please know that the thermostats do not go below 68. If you are like me, and run warm, you can not cool the room down. Also, it felt like way hotter than 68. I could not sleep peacefully and kept waking up due to being so warm. I also picked up a lot of traffic noise from my room and the sheets were scratchy and not soft. I would not stay here again as I could not get a restful sleep. I've never had that happen before. read more

I stay in Waldorf quite a bit for work and have stayed at nearly every hotel there. The Hampton is ok, but nothing special. They renovated it a couple years ago, so it has upgraded ammenities. I have 2 complaints about this property, which is why it only received 2 stars (otherwise, it would have received 3): 1) The staff use the area behind the hotel to smoke, so anytime you use the door in the back, you run the risk of walking through a wall of smoke and/or having to deal with the smell. Being a non-smoker, I park in front just to avoid this. 2) The hotel fitness room stinks like a cat's litterbox. Not exactly the smell you want... ever! With that being said, spend the extra money and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn down the street. The fitness center is better equipped and smells fine. The hotel is also easier to get in & out of as it isn't on 301. Last time I checked, the HGI is only $10 more per night using AAA discount. read more

Charged my boyfriends card and tried to say it didn't go through when the payment clearly showed up on his bank statement. They took $107 out but claimed the payment didn't go through and said there was nothing they could do and the money can't be refunded for 5-7 business days. Couldn't even stay in the room. read more

It's perfect for what I need in a business hotel. I've stayed here twice for work - and I'll be back again. Booked online direct thru their site with an AAA discount. Clean rooms - nice lobby - and helpful front desk staff. Fridge and microwave in the room - so it's easy to pick up snacks at Target down the street to keep for a multi night stay. Breakfast in the lobby is free and filling - eggs, meats, potatoes, cereals, fruit, yogurts, juices and breads. The Carrabas across the parking lot even gives you a discount when you show them your room key. There's a small gym onsite too. Meets all my needs. read more

My fiancee and I like to have mini "staycations" every once in a while where we get a hotel room (close to home because we have a dog to take care of,) and dinner. This past weekend we chose this hotel. It was a refreshing change from the last hotel we stayed at (horrible!!) We were greeted by a very friendly and professional staff member (I believe he was a manager) immediately. He was extremely attentive, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were completely informed about everything. The hotel was in great condition all-around...it was clean, well-maintained, and I loved the decor. When we got to the room, we found it to be quite comfortable and pleasantly decorated. There were a couple minor things: some small paper peices stuck to the freezer area of the mini fridge, and a sizeable stain on the ottoman. Everything else was so good that these things didn't even really bother us. The bathroom was full of clean towels and travel toilettries, and the bed....ohhhhhh the bed!!!! I definitely fell in love with the bed - SO COMFY!!! We both got a great night's sleep!! The complimentary breakfast in the morning was also very nice. The pantry staff was very attentive!! They weren't even completely out of scrambled eggs and sausage before they were whisking in a fresh, hot pan-full!! AND the food was very good!! Clean facility, staff is mostly nice. Decent complimentary breakfast. Workers at front desk are hit or miss on being service oriented. If you stay, try and book a room on right side of hotel. Smoking is on third story left hand side, and filters down. So if you have a non-smoking room you may still get a smelly room. read more

Everything was good about the hotel. It was clean and the front desk clerk was very friendly and knowledgeable. My only issue was with housekeeping. I stayed for a total of three days and two nights. I'm sure the hotel was aware of that and would also notify housekeeping but obviously they did not because each and every morning I was woken up too loud banging from housekeeping asking if someone was in the room or not. It was annoying and repetitive. What also made it worse is that it was same lady each and every time. I would have given the hotel five stars but disturbing my sleep is a big no-no. read more

The people who worked there were very nice and very accommodating...but for over $150 a night..it needs to be better than this....the elevator creaked..pretty badly...my AC unit made a noise...so I tried to switch rooms and in the other room the AC unit made even more noise...so I switched back to my original room...also the TV had a line in it and a shadow..I just dealt with it my entire stay...the walls are kinda thin..I heard a baby next door..it wasnt bad but the day I was leaving the baby sounded like a wild animal...the covers on the bed were kinda itchy and rough...I took out the blanket in the closet and used it (I dont think Ive ever done that before)..the place didnt seem to have enough pillows...I like alot of pillows but it wasnt like a bad thing..I did sleep well...even tho its close to a highway I didnt hear any traffic...another positive thing was there was 2 restaurants right in front of the hotel...so walking to dinner was nice....I dont think it had been cleaned very well because I found a hair in the sink (the hair wasnt mine)...all in all it wasnt a bad hotel...just needs a little updating for the price of what I paid. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel. During my check in process I experienced the rudest treatment ever. I first wait he 25min while the guest service agent was on the phone with someone, he told me 3 times I'll be right with you. So I finally give my name he finds my reservation. The agent says I need a method of payment!!! I asked for the total and I was told 111.82 , I counted out 112.00 Cash the agent said I'll be right back. I waited another 5 min and another person is with the gentlemen assisting me, with no introduction , she says we don't take cash you need to pay with a credit card! I ask why don't you take cash and where is it in writing! The lady tells me it doesn't have to be posted or in writing!!!! I asked is this a standard rule or something your hotel enforces??? She respond we have the right to refuse cash. I ask did she have the number for the Hilton Honors call center ??? Her reply is I'm the General Manager and nothings gonna change and offered to explain this to Hilton Honors qhich is a loyalty program in place for loyal travelers. .. I leave to go get credit card and return. Now keep in mind how stern they are about not taking cash. When I handed my American Express it clearly reads please CID. Never once was I ever asked for ID, but you beat me up over wanting to pay cash. Heating unit in room 202 had to be turned over to heat on a day that it was 20 degrees outside ...
