My second time here. Perfect place to stop on the way from California to Illinois. Typical Hampton Inn, clean, recently, remodeled, good service and safe.... I would have no trouble with my wife staying here alone. Why 5 stars? The best breakfast at one of these places I have ever had!! Bacon!!!!! Perfectly cooked and stacked high!! Potatoes were pretty good too!! I liked that I could make the mini waffles too. Easier to make crispy!! I was all excited thinking maybe this was a change that the Hamptons Inns made because I had two more to stay at on my trip..... Sadly, this one in Richfield was an anomaly .... I'm going to start with the bad first to provide fair warning and in hopes that the issue is remedied. Unfortunately both beds in room 105 squeaked really bad with any movement even made by our 10 year old! In addition to squeaky beds, both my husband and I slept terrible and woke several times in discomfort and were sore from the uncomfortable bed. Now the good. It's very conveniently located just off I-70 perfect when on a long road trip. The area is safe and the hotel was very clean and well-maintained almost seeming new but it's several years old as we've stayed here before, but don't recall squeaky and uncomfortable beds the last time we stayed. For those traveling with pets, they allow them as we saw a few dogs in the morning, but didn't hear or smell any pets which is great if travelers have allergies as there was no proof of pets in our room or the common areas. Hoping they improve the beds otherwise I don't think I would stay due to uncomfortable and poor sleep. read more

The bad first - this place had the creakiest bed I've ever slept in. We were in a 2 double bedroom with a sofa bed, and our bed was the one on the inside of the room (rather than against the window). Every single movement i made, this bed creaked. I never knew that this would even be an issue, as I've never slept in such a bed. I guess you don't really check beds for creaks when you clean the rooms, and if the bed isn't old, you don't think about checking for it. So I let them know at the front desk, and they said they would look into it. I probably won't be traveling to this area for a while so I won't know, but hopefully they will get it fixed/replaced. Having a good night's sleep was very important for us, as we are driving cross country and need to drive all day. One other bad - the room was mostly clean and the bedding was fresh. But when we tried to use the coffee maker, it was so dusty at the top that we ended up not using it. It has obviously not been cleaned in a while, maybe because no one used it (they do provide coffee downstairs). So it was kind of icky and we didn't feel like cleaning it before using it. Other than that, everything else at the hotel was fine. Like i said, mostly, the room was clean. Bathroom was spotless. Shower could've used a little more pressure, but acceptable. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet area was very clean, food was fresh, and coffee was not superb but average. Hot foods included eggs and sausage patties. read more

Not my favorite Hampton Inn experience. We checked in on the app but stopped by the front desk for waters. Pretty unfriendly and not very welcoming. The next morning there were multiple front desk people and the breakfast lady all chilling at the desk. No one says "hi" or "good morning" they just kind of watch you. Our room was ok. We came into a dirty towel hung on the back of the bathroom door from the previous occupant. Not a huge deal but it does make you question how well the room was cleaned. Were those sheets changed? Does that pillow look used? Are those water marks from us or is it just dirty? It was really the only Hilton option within miles so I'm not sure what we could have done differently. But 45k points for this place on a random weeknight in July is bananas. read more

I would not recommend this Hampton Inn. I arrived after midnight with my family of six, presenting my valid government ID as I have done at Hilton properties across the country to receive the government rate. Paul at the front desk not only denied the government rate but was extremely rude during the entire interaction. When I politely asked him to call a supervisor or a Hilton representative for assistance, he refused. His attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, making an already late and stressful night even worse. Because of how we were treated, we had to leave and drive three more hours to Mesquite, Arizona, in the middle of the night, which was unsafe for my family. I have never been treated this poorly at any Hilton property, and it is unacceptable. I hope Hilton addresses this location's customer service and ensures that staff like Paul understand how to treat guests with respect. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. Traveling as a single woman moving across the country. When I arrived at 5 pm (their check in begins at 2) The staff informed me they canceled my booking because they claimed they called me to confirm yet I didnt receive any miss calls or voicemails. The manager then continued to aggressively yell at me, all because I was inquiring about the reason of my cancellation so I could understand the reasoning and not have this happen again in the future. He continued to yell at me and then say it was cancelled because my card on file wasnt active when I clicked on pay at arrival during booking ( and it was a debit card with plenty if funds on it) he then proceeded to call me a bitch and told me to leave. Mind you 30 minutes after i left and checked into the holiday inn down the street i received a confirmation email saying my reservation was all set. Then out of curiosity I went on yelp yo read reviews to see if anyone else experienced something similar and about 5-10 other guest's experience the same manager being rude, aggressive, and yelling at other women guests. Would absolutely not recommend this place. Will never be returning to another best western again. Definitely stay at the holiday inn express 2 min down the road the staff there is absolutely amazing, welcoming, accommodating, RESPECTFUL, answers all your questions happily, and makes you feel safe. read more

I did an online search for hotels in Torrey, UT, and this hotel came up so I booked it through Priceline. When I got the confirming email a few minutes later, I found that this hotel was in Richfield, more than 60 miles away in the opposite direction we were travelling. I immediately called Priceline. They said they would call the hotel and put me on hold. They came back and said they were told that the only person who could authorize a cancellation was the manager and he was not in. They said they would follow up with the hotel but two days later and nothing. I would have happily paid a reasonable cancellation fee but feel I was stiffed for $160.00. I stopped here for a quick pit stop in March. The hotel had been upgraded since my first visit. I appreciate a new hotel room! Staff was very compliant with COVID rules. My family and I were traveling from San Diego, CA to Denver, CO and we stopped here to stay the night. In the morning I went to grab us all breakfast. The customer service was fantastic! Deanna and Kesha were so friendly and helpful. They had great attitudes and kept the front desk and dining area exceptionally clean! This is the first time my family and I have travelled through this pandemic. These two ladies made me feel safe... which can be hard when I have two little kids running around touching everything. Best spot in the area if you're looking for a hotel that's taking thorough precautions regarding covid. Called holiday inn and Fairfield multiple times just to find some staff saying masks are required for staff and guests, and others saying they aren't. Hampton inn was great though. Rooms are newly remodeled. Staff was friendly and rooms felt very clean here. Everyone wore masks. Only down side was the shower water had problems getting hot. Would stay again regardless. WARNING: manager Alexa Engel is arrogant. unapologetic, and rude to deal with. The rest of the staff was pleasant to deal with. I made a reservation for 2/25-27 on 2/16 online on the Hampton inn website. The total charge made to our credit card was 295.41. I received the email with our conformation number immediately. Upon arriving to the hotel on 2/25, We checked in with out a hitch other than they needed a card on file (we did not have the credit card with us that I made the reservation with at the time as I had left it on our kitchen counter) so my husband gave them our debt card to put a 1$ hold on for the "incidentals". Upon checking out on 2/27 we were then charged in full for the room of 295.41. I asked why this was happening and the front desk said that its what the unpaid total was. I asked to dispute it but the manager was not in and I would have to talk to her the next day to get it situated. I spoke to the manager about the double charge and listened to her excuse that she can't see in the system that I was charged when I made the reservation online. I sent her the email with the conformation number from my online booking. I sent her a copy of my credit card statement with the charge and conformation number. I called to check to see if she received the emails and with an attitude of annoyance told me that she was going to be working on it and that she has a lot of things she has to do, that she can not just give out refunds. We had to have had a reservation upon checking in. Which we did, because we had the email and confirmation number. You can not have the conformation number with out paying in full, therefore we were in the system and it was paid for. Upon checking out our debt card for "incidentals" was charged for the full price of the stay 295.41 In total we have paid 590.82 We are a single income active duty military family that has a budget. We traveled to Richfield Utah from Oceanside California which isn't cheap, to attend the funeral of our brother in law who had unexpectedly passed away and were not expecting to have to deal with this hassle on top of the exhaustion we have been experiencing. Not once has the manager been apologetic or reassure that things will get taken care of, instead we are treated as though we are thieves. Absolutely appalled at the treatment of the manager Alexa Engel. Note: Husband called and talked to a representative at the Hilton Worldwide and although we didn't catch her name she was extremely pleasant to deal with and apologized for the hassle and insured us that the reputation of Hilton is very important on making things right. Also the Manager of the Hampton Inn (Alexa) did call to inform us that we would receive a refund to our debt card. Again not once did she apologize or try to explain what had happened. She rudely told me that my mother in law called to complain about the lack of service we were getting. She told me to, " Call my mother in law and tell her that everything has been handled" In her arrogance she told me that she was not afraid of what would happen when I told her that we were not happy with how everything had been handled. told me to have a great day hastily and hung up. read more

An excellent hotel choice in the center of Utah. Good access to the freeway and just minutes from the Paiute Trail system for the ATVs. The hotel is clean, has a good breakfast, and plenty of parking (some set aside for trailers) so you can haul the toys down with a good place to keep them. One disadvantage is there is no outside security (cameras) except for the night staff walking around outside. If you are parking $$$ worth of ATVs or UTVs you want to ensure they are secure. The staff says there has been no thefts but you don't want to be the first. read more

My wife and I took a road trip from Southern California to Denver, CO and this Hampton Inn in Richfield, Utah was a great halfway point for us. It was nice to be greeted by friendly front desk staff after a long day of driving. Our room was very clean and the whole building felt new. They also served freshly baked cookies in the early evening that were delicious. Breakfast in the morning was perfect especially as we were about to hit the road again to continue our trip to Denver. They had egg and cheese omelets prepared with bacon as well as self-server waffle making station. In addition to all of this, a standard array of continental breakfast options were also available. They also provided hot breakfast with plenty of variety. I would definitely stay here again for future road trips. The hotel is standard for a small town Inn. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our first room was filled with flies. Flies on the lampshade, flies on the window, flies behind the window shade. Quickly got transferred to a different room. Our second room was on the middle floor. We quickly found out that the walls, floors, and ceilings were paper thin. The hotel got three stars for the clean room, comfortable bed, service and tasty breakfast. However the walls were too thin! I could hear everything! I heard the guest above me walking around in his room, taking a shower and flushing the toilet. I could hear my neighbors alarm go off. I heard people walking up and down the halls. The kicker, I am not a light sleeper. I won't be staying here again, unless they can promise me a room on the top floor, separated from other guests. read more

Wi-Fi working complementary tea and coffee at the front hot water was normally a Luke warm but tea was plentiful. I will agree with the other reviewer's that walls are paper thin also a weird smell in the room I did not really feel comfortable here..The coffee maker in the room had a lot of debris and all the hard water buildup looked really dirty actually too dirty to use. No Bellman or valet. Room needed a lot of updating the one nice feature was there was multiple plug-ins for your phone and computers etc. also they have HBO and their cable so that was nice. I'm a "Hilton guy". I carry the Diamond status and stay at a Hilton branded chain once a week. So, I see a wide variety of properties. This place easily ranks on the low end of my frequented Hilton hotels. Seeing as how this property is located in a VERY "non-destination" town, and how it's ran by a franchisee who likes to keep his profit margins maximized, it's no wonder why the rooms haven't been updated since the place was built. Carpet is old and nasty, thermostat doesn't work, first generation flat screen TV, and a mid-90's oak furniture motif throughout. Oh yeah, and the paper-thin walls. The guy in the room next to me last night was flipping back and forth from midnight re-runs of Family Guy and some sleazy documentary on HBO. Frankly, I could have stayed at the Motel 6 on the main Richfield drag for cheaper and near equal accommodations. So, why do I stay here once every 6 months or so? I like the Hilton points and I like most of the other Hilton properties. So, begrudgingly I book here, and begrudgingly I stay here. One star given for a bed that didn't have bugs that bite. Another star given for warm water. read more

Booked this room through the Hilton app for a funeral - price was surprisingly high at $170 plus $20 in taxes, but my mother really wanted to try it; she was looking for a new regular hotel in her hometown. Arrived at 3:00 but it took over an hour to get checked in because the rooms weren't ready yet, and they couldn't even set us up with wifi so I could take a Zoom business call while we waited. Seems like a problem the Hilton chain shouldn't be having. Rooms were small but very clean. Buffet breakfast was fine. Staff seemed friendly. The front desk clerk gave us a state resident discount that took off $40, but our relatives were given additional discounts that took their room down to $85 even though we should have qualified for the same rate. Their deal sounds great, right? Except without clearly noting it on their bill, the hotel somehow charged them an additional $160 on their credit card for a room in my mother's name. Our two parties had made completely separate reservations and she shared my room. Nobody reserved or checked into the room they said was hers. Mistakes happen, and we wouldn't have minded so much if it hadn't taken literally 7 phone calls and over 10 days to get the manager to grudgingly agree to reverse the charges. She couldn't be bothered to check the records when my relatives called, insisting we had to provide proof we had already paid for her room. When my uncle called back with the requested information, she failed to return any of the 4 phone calls he made. I'm guessing she only answered my call because she didn't know who it was. There were no apologies to any of us for the mistake or the time we all wasted over it. I later saw the room as a mystery hotel option on Hotwire for $67. It might be worth it at that price, especially if you don't have to negotiate with the front desk. Definitely nobody in our extended family clan will be staying there in the future. Beware of late arrivals due to traffic you will be almost triple charged multiple check in and check outs by their staff and computer system. Rooms are clean, but I was double-charged for a one night stay. Contacted the hotel multiple times to have the extra charge credited but they would not reverse the charge. Doesn't even deserve the one star I was forced to put in!!! Our wrestling team was headed to Utah for a tournament like we do every year. We made reservations to stay here but ended up canceling them in the allowed amount of time because we found a hotel that could take our whole team! The Hampton Inn still charged our credit card for the stay and proceeded to tell us to call Monday to speak to a manager about a refund. So we called on Monday and low and behold no manager! Hmmm today is Friday and we are still waiting for a manager to call us and refund our money! If you plan on staying here make sure you want to definitely stay here because they will charge your card no matter what And you are pretty much screwed because they obviously can't handle their mistakes and fix it! Problems include wifi not working during our stay (surprising since we passed several billboards on the way in touting the free wifi), a really small shower shelf (really, just one spot to put a bar of soap!?!?), and the general outdated nature of the place. It is definitely time for an update! Positives include a solid breakfast, generally quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff. If you are passing through for a night or two, this place will do the job. One room smells like amonia and feet and the other has a vacuum sitting in the doorway when you open the door.
