This has to be the most inconsistent hotel in the Hilton family of hotels. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are pretty bad. This visit checked the bad box. We arrive after a 10 hour drive to check in. Lady at the counter struggled to be somewhat kind but failed miserably when it came to acknowledging their Hilton Honors program. I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for at least 30 years. After receiving my room key I inquiry about the water bottles for the room. She says they ran out of water but they have a couple fountains to drink from. There was water in their little store but no effort from this lady to please the customer and grab a bottle or two and provide this basic perk. The room assigned was okay but placed at the very end of the hall. We hit breakfast about 10 minutes after it opens and have to request coffee cups because they forgot to put them out. Breakfast was a combination of powdered and watery eggs, undercooked bacon and mushy home fries. Gross! When we go to checkout the dude at the front desk had his head buried into his phone, would not take my room key (put it in the container, says he), no thank you, no how was your stay, just kept his eyes on his phone. We like staying in Patterson when traveling back from Oregon but may have to rethink this. I have come to realize I am too old for inconsistency and that is a trait of this hotel. Perhaps the manager needs to be replaced or trained better because the employees seem to not know the basics of customer service. Two stars are very generous based on this visit.

Sheesh! I really don't like leaving negative reviews, however, my stay this weekend was not great. When I checked in, I didn't get complimentary water bottles, being a Silver Hilton Honors guest as I have my past few visits. I'm not a hotel snob in any sense- I rack up points to use on future vacations. In our room, there was only ONE BAR OF SOAP. No Shampoo and Conditioner inclusions. So the same one bar of soap we used to wash our hands with had to also be used as our soap bar for our showers. What in the world? And as there are usually 4 bath towels, we only initially had 2. For what was invested in this room- there was no return. Lastly, I retract my comment about the pool. We can understand and do dust. It's a dusty AG area. My teenager would not dip into the pool after seeing bugs swimming. BUGS SWIMMING AND DIPPING! My thought is that there is not enough chlorine or cleanliness to kill off the mosquito larvae-- THAT WE SAW SWIMMING IN THE POOL. No upkeep, whatsoever. BOO stay. The only highlight was the view of the fireworks.

It was fine. I couldn't use my travel points because of a computer glitch, but the person was nice when we arrived. We were set up with a funky room in a dark corner and there's no reason for it. At least if there was, no one bothered to tell me. They have breakfast, with very little for me to eat. The coffee was OK. They had fresh fruit, cereals, bread, a waffle station. My husband hated this waffle. He got the red velvet one and was unamused. But the check-in and check-out were fine. Now, I wish there was some entertainment in the area. I'm thankful that I don't have to come down this way more often. We were here for my stepson's birthday and don't know if I'll come back, mainly because it may be possible to get something closer to them. But for this trip, it was good. I'd stay again if I had to.

The chairs are nice to sit in and the lobby is quite modern! I go sometimes just to read and meditate and have no problems! Thanks!

Wow $75.00 pet fee for a 1 night stay. I'd say this hotel is not so pet friendly. I have never had a pet fee so high in all my travels.

I've never booked a room here, but we would meet up with our friends from Madera at this hotel since their place is too far for me to drive. Yesterday, I discovered a really cool greenhouse and a charming wine museum I had never seen before. There's no charge to enter the wine room, but you need a key card from the lobby to access it. Additionally, there's a cute, small pet park for furry friends. The hotel also features a pond filled with colorful koi fish and another pond with waterfalls. We spotted an adorable turtle just hanging out with some fake ducks. There are a couple of areas with fire pits, and there's even a rose garden. I found a spot where you can play bocce and horseshoes. The courtyard is definitely fun to explore, and the restaurant's view is fantastic. I also learned about a bar called The Lounge. I tried the food at the Kitchen for breakfast and lunch yesterday. The service was slow on both occasions. We had to wait for ten minutes because the staff member at the desk said the server would return by then. I asked if they could seat us while we waited for her break to finish, but we decided to stay anyway. Regardless, the food was excellent both times, so the restaurant kicks ass even though the service doesn't. There are many places to visit outside the hotel. The Korean Memorial is nearby, but we skipped it yesterday. Instead, we discovered a few parks with trails that offer beautiful views of the hills and the San Luis Reservoir. We also visited the Romero Overlook Visitors Center, where you can learn about the water system and the area's history. I'm sure there are more things to do in the area, but that was all we had time for during our adventure yesterday.

Serious Security Breach and a Staff That Doesn't Understand Guest Safety…read more My experience at the Residence Inn Modesto was nothing short of alarming. I had a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed on my door, yet the hotel staff entered my room anyway. This isn't a housekeeping mix‑up -- it's a direct breach of personal security and a complete disregard for guest safety. When I raised the issue, both the front desk supervisor and front desk agent told me the property can "enter any room at any time," even with a Do Not Disturb posted. That statement alone should concern anyone staying here. It shows a total lack of understanding of basic privacy, guest rights, and safety protocols. The Regional Manager didn't handle it any better. He offered 5,000 points (about $20) as a "gesture," and seemed surprised when I told him that was unacceptable. The fact that such a serious violation was met with a token offer and blank stares says everything. What became painfully clear is that no one at this property -- from the front desk to management -- grasps the gravity of entering a guest's room without permission. They treated it as if it were nothing, when in reality it's a major security breach that puts guests and their belongings at risk. If you value your privacy, your safety, or the expectation that your room won't be accessed without your consent, do not stay here. This property has made it clear they do not take those responsibilities seriously.
