This is the big hotel for Modesto, next to the convention center and adjacent to the nice downtown…read morearea. Parking is across the street in a municipal structure. You save $1 by having it as part of your hotel stay. There's a sky bridge on the 3rd floor which helps you avoid the street, which is quite busy during daylight and without any cars at night. I've stayed here twice. The rooms are comfortable and the furniture is in good condition. There's lots of water pressure and the bathrooms are clean. Unfortunately, I had problems with my room's AC on both stays. The first time I was on the hot side of the building and thought it might have been that but it did not get better once the sun went down. Maintenance came, checked the temp and acknowledged the warmth, said they could not do anything and left. On my second stay, the guy thought it might be the curtains blocking the airflow so he moved them and left. It never cooled down. I called downstairs, they brought me a key to another room, and I packed up and moved myself to another room. The next room was definitely an improvement but still not as cool as I like. A bit of a hassle but luckily I wasn't in a rush. Kudos to the front desk for accommodating me in such a drama free way. The warm cookies and free water for those with status already in the room helped. Lol

I arrived really tired from a long drive around 4am Saturday morning. She was very sweet and accommodating, and quickly set me up with a nice room. A quick note, I just wish the cleaning crew were not so loud in the hallway, I could've slept longer. Overall it was great, thank you, my bf and I will be back.

Loved the kitchen and big bathroom (just make sure to put towels down- tile is very slippery when wet) , living room and bedroom!! Even a big closet. The grounds are very clean and quiet. Lobby was full of Christmas cheer. Monty especially enjoyed it! He gives it two paws up!

Serious Security Breach and a Staff That Doesn't Understand Guest Safety…read more My experience at the Residence Inn Modesto was nothing short of alarming. I had a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed on my door, yet the hotel staff entered my room anyway. This isn't a housekeeping mix‑up -- it's a direct breach of personal security and a complete disregard for guest safety. When I raised the issue, both the front desk supervisor and front desk agent told me the property can "enter any room at any time," even with a Do Not Disturb posted. That statement alone should concern anyone staying here. It shows a total lack of understanding of basic privacy, guest rights, and safety protocols. The Regional Manager didn't handle it any better. He offered 5,000 points (about $20) as a "gesture," and seemed surprised when I told him that was unacceptable. The fact that such a serious violation was met with a token offer and blank stares says everything. What became painfully clear is that no one at this property -- from the front desk to management -- grasps the gravity of entering a guest's room without permission. They treated it as if it were nothing, when in reality it's a major security breach that puts guests and their belongings at risk. If you value your privacy, your safety, or the expectation that your room won't be accessed without your consent, do not stay here. This property has made it clear they do not take those responsibilities seriously.

I've been visiting family in Modesto for decades, and this is the first trip I've stayed at a hotel…read moreinstead of in my family's home. I couldn't have chosen better than SpringHill Suites. My King Bed room was so cozy and had all the amenities I could hope for and then some. Next time I'll bring along some microwave popcorn! Each morning I'd head down to the buffet breakfast, and they changed up the protein each morning. I do love those solid scramble eggs that are so common at hotel buffets, but that quiche was delicious too. The waffles were so easy to make and somehow they didn't stick to the waffle iron. I like fool-proof. ;-) The gym is really well stocked with enough equipment for me to get a great mid-day workout. It might get a little crowded if there's more than 2-3 people, but it was empty when I used it. Charging my car was 3x as expensive as I usually pay, but it was convenient, and fast. Lots of free parking. I saw security several times throughout my stay, whether walking around the inside of the building, or driving around the building, so that was comforting. The front desk staff were super friendly, and each morning at the buffet, the attendants always said hello. It's these small touches that really make a difference. I look forward to future stays with SpringHill Suites.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott is one of those places that quietly gets it right…read more The lobby and common areas are clean, open, and welcoming, comfortable without trying too hard. It feels like a place where you can actually exhale after a long day, whether you are traveling, passing through, or just needing a reset. What truly made our stay memorable, though, was the front desk staff, especially KJ. Seeing a familiar, genuinely kind face right when you walk in matters more than people realize. KJ was warm, professional, and effortlessly welcoming, the kind of presence that immediately makes you feel taken care of. No forced smiles, no scripted hospitality....just real kindness and attentiveness. Those small human moments are what separate a good stay from a great one, and KJ absolutely elevated the experience. It's clear she takes pride in what she does, and it shows. Clean rooms, calm atmosphere, and excellent front desk service....this location delivers where it counts. We left feeling rested, appreciated, and glad we chose to stay here. Would happily return.

She had…read morenever heard of my major credit cards so she couldn't accept them(they only accept ones they've heard of so I'm guessing only local banks or wells fargo). My credit card is a Mastercard through bank of Missouri, not a prepaid not a debit. As I'm standing there to check in a homeless lady on a bike came in. We go to the back to go out room and a gray pickup had a lady giving head in the back I wish I was joking my 15 yr old pointed it out. We get into the building and kids are in the hallways playing. Go to the room and gnats are flying, floor is wet, phone is unhooked, there are cockroaches crawling, and the most disgusting thing I've ever seen, boogers all over the walls. I literally started gagging when the kids pointed them out!! We go to front desk and I'm like yeah I know you're used to people complaining but can we cancel this reservation to go somewhere else and she wad just like no one ever complains, I don't know anything about the rooms, that I have to call Wyndham if i want any help, so I asked her to please put a note on my reservation and she just goes, I can say you left, like uh this is the least helpful front desk. This is exactly why I stay at hilton but this hotel has a sweet spot for me as I really liked the manager and customer service goes a long way for me, but I can't, this was too much. Ghetto from every step of the way, run down, this is where you go if you are getting a $30 blowie or a junkie.

They have a housekeeping staff, yet the rooms are still dreadful and gross. When I opened the room door, I was instantly shocked and realized this was a BIG mistake. Our room reeked of wet dog and cigarettes. The odor was so prominent and intense that no amount of air freshener was able to mask that pungent nasty scent. This disgusting scent remained throughout our entire stay here. I notified 2 cleaning staff and neither of them were even a bit surprised. One handed me a basically empty can of air freshener that quickly finished. I asked another staff member for an air freshener and she didn't have one and said to go to the front desk. Surprise, surprise the front desk was also out of air freshener so we were stuck with this disgusting smell. This hotel is also situated in an extremely ghetto area. Homeless and questionable people roam the premises 24/7. We regularly kept checking our car to verify if it was broken into yet. I always took all of my valuables with me whenever I left the room because I did not trust this place. The people inhabiting the neighboring rooms also looked sketchy and questionable themselves. Almost always did the parking lot reek of marijuana. Carpets in the room and throughout the building are outdated, dirty, and have black stains on them. The furniture in the room was also stained and filthy and the bathroom sink was atrocious. There was a lot of trash outside the entrance of the building, absolutely nothing in the room looked aesthetically pleasing, and the entire room looked abysmal and had an unsanitary and filthy feel to it. When I pulled open the bath curtain to take a shower, I was greeted by a lovely spider. How fun!!!! One of the most sickening parts about staying here were the nasty white stains on the red sheets below the mattress. (Pictures below) Absolutely gross!!!!!! Definitely an off-putting sight seeing white drips/stains on a bed you're supposed to sleep on. It makes you doubt the competence of the housekeeping staff and highly question the cleaning practices of this hotel. Given the conditions, I'm not sure if they even do the bare minimum when it comes to cleaning. If I can still see dirt and stains in the room, it is not fully clean and should NOT be rented out. How is that such a wild concept? I laid down my own blankets on the bed and pillows and never walked barefoot on the carpet as I couldn't even tell what was actually cleaned or washed in this room. Yes, it was that bad! As expected, I barely got any sleep in this place and I repeatedly kept getting woken up by noise and the insufferable cigarette and dog odor that inhabited the entire room. Just by seeing the condition of the room alone, I didn't even dare visit the pool. The staff are also aloof and apathetic. I voiced my complaints to four different employees and none of them were even a tiny bit shocked or apologetic about what I was experiencing. I'm pretty sure they are used to repeatedly hearing the same complaints and are already immune to anything negative you say. I'm genuinely surprised that this place hasn't been shut down by a health inspector yet. It's both scary and laughable to think that people are paying good money to stay in these garbage rooms, when they should instead be getting compensated for surviving a night here. This is by far the dirtiest and worst place I've ever stayed at. I didn't think any other place would beat my Motel 6 experience but this hotel managed to do it. Whoever owns or runs this establishment should be truly ashamed of themselves. Unfortunately, we rented out 2 nights in advance, but the room was so awful that we ended up leaving a day early and lost the money for one entire night. We were quickly reminded by the rude lady at the front desk that there are no refunds. We were fine with that and just wanted to get out of this dump as soon as possible! That's what this place does to you. Makes you run for the hills. Worst $300 ever spent!!!! Sleeping in your car or anywhere else is a wayyyyy better upgrade than staying at this dump.
