Wife and I stopped here overnight while on our way east. It is a great location right off of the interstate and right next door to BK and a gas station. We used our digital key so never made contact with the front desk. Our room was very clean and very roomy. Everything seems kind of new and spread out. Not the best Hampton, not the worst Hampton (by far). This is just a minute from I-10, and hey, it got the job done for me. I chose to spend an extra $10 or so and get a Bay view with a balcony, and that was worth it. Check in it a bit later than I am used to (4pm, rather than usual 3pm). I arrived, checked in, was given 2 bottles of water, and got to my room in time see the sun start to set. I sat on the balcony and listened to the wildlife in the Bay under me. The sun put on a beautiful show and this was 100% the best hotel view I've had of a nature setting. Once the sub went down, it was fun to see some of the water life down there hunting and splashing around. This is not the newest hotel, and parking was a little dark near the front of the building. They have rear parking and what looks like a lot off to the side. Check in was super easy and the staff was friendly. I didn't get the usual info on the breakfast times and all, but I could figure that out. The room itself was a little larger than I figured it would be with a small seating area and desk. Microwave, refrigerator, drawers and hanging clothes area. Pretty basic bathroom with a corer sink. It took me a moment to get the temp right for the room, but then it was fine. It was slightly damp, but a whole lot less damp than most hotels. It's a Hampton, so the beds are just perfect. I could have used another blanket or a thicker one for preference, but i was fine. I slept hard which was nice. In the morning, I got up early to head to a local race. The breakfast area was already busy, and there was not much that I wanted there. There were some premade egg things and lots of carb/bread type of selections. There were no cups by the juice selections so people were grabbing coffee cups. They were out of all the coffee (including decaf), so that was an issue at 7am after I had decided not to make any in my room, but i sucked it up and headed off without it. I didn't have time to wait. I will probably choose this location if staying in the area again. I have an annual race that starts in Daphne, and having the peaceful balcony view in a quiet area was certainly a welcomed experience! read more

Great view with nice balcony. Got a 2 room suite with bay view balcony on top floor for $230. Room very clean and had everything. 2 bathrooms. Couch. Chairs. 2 large screen TVs. Hot breakfast consisting of link sausage, southwestern omelettes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, bagels, fruit. Great location close to everything. Great customer service. After being kept up by next room blasting TV until 1 am, traffic noise like I'm the room, complaning to front desk and being blown off, we left. The floor was so filthy (wiped with white cloth -ugh) toilet didn't flush right. Will never recommend it. Never stay again. read more

Definitely don't stay here. I picked this one just because the view looked nice over the bay. But in retrospect I'd rather have stayed at one of the other highway hotels nearby. The place is kind of dingy all over. The interior needs to be redone and the exterior cleaned. The furniture is old and beat up and the shower/bathtub is kind of gross and not up to current standards. The sheets and bed smelled a little funny. The elevator is slow AF and the floor was peeling up. The is at best a $60/night hotel, but they are getting $120. If I wanted to stay at a craphole I would have stayed at one a lot cheaper that wasn't called Hilton. The AC sucks. It's humid in the whole building it feels like a swamp. Our room was so humid the sheets and carpet felt wet, and it smelled like a basement. We changed rooms on the fifth day and the new one wasn't much better. The included breakfast is pretty standard, but one morning the fake scrambled eggs were like soup. read more

When I go back to visit friends and don't stay with friends, this is my go-to hotel. I always opt for a room overlooking Mobile Bay because the view is definitely worth a little extra. It's not brand new and sparkling, but it's clean and presentable. The rooms are always spotless and the beds are comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is perfect. The free breakfast is usually delicious, and the dining area also has a nice view of the bay as well. This hotel is conveniently located next to I-10, Hwy 98 and the Gator Alley boardwalk in Daphne. We always have to walk down and watch the alligators. The last visit, we saw people feeding them from the hotel parking lot. Given the proximity, I do wish the hotel would display signs containing information explaining why it's important not to feed them. Not only is it illegal, it's also extremely dangerous as they begin to associate humans with being fed and may start to approach people. This hotel location is in a perfect location to walk down and admire the alligators in their natural habitat, but please don't feed the gators! This is not only my favorite hotel in my other hometown, but also my 4 year old grandson's favorite hotel, or as he calls it, hoe-and-tell. It's really not that kind of place. read more

Well.... If you are looking for an expensive hotel that is doing construction and you won't be able to sleep and enjoy your stay look no further. My boyfriend was never told that this was under construction when we checked in and in the morning we could hear the noise from all over the place. We couldn't enjoy our night stay at all while in our road trip. For the cost of the stay, you get excellent service. First off the rooms are well appointed. Comfortable beds and pillows, micro wave and frig. Kinda standard, I guess but still felt like a bonus when we return to our room with leftovers from local restaurants But theres more like big bathrooms with tri mirrors, really nice toiletries and instant hot water and plush towels. Complementary breakfast was also very good. But the best part of our stay was the staff. From check in to check out, they were excellent. In my experience it is not unusual to have a few nice and a few not so nice. Not this time. Everyone was super nice and it felt genuine. Book your stay. You won't regret it. read more

Our King with Balcony - Super! Drove through rainstorms all day, but arrived in time for Happy Hour & gorgeous sunset view of Mobile Bay from our private balcony. Bathroom is nice - could have used more counter space. Bed and pillows (could have used a couple extra pillows, but didn't ask just for an overnight) were Great! Mattress firm and supportive but so comfortable! Well lit room w/full length mirror appreciated. Very clean. Breakfast area is gorgeous! Full of windows, bayside views, wide variety of good food and drink. Sunset viewing there in seating area too. Don't pass it up! read more

We are Hilton members so we always stay at there hotels when we travel...What a let down for Hilton this one was! Upon arrival it was apparent they were busy, a full house according to the hand written sign. It looked like a lobby at spring break. We asked for a luggage cart and were informed that it would be best to take the stairs cause only one elevator was working. Great. Then we heard there were luggage carts "stored" in the parking garage down one floor?? Not in the lobby?? What? Yep we had to go down get one bring it up to the lobby from storage. Our room: the room was two queens, small fridge and a balcony. The shower had mold and soap scum in it that I've never seen in a hotel before, definitely not any Hilton hotel. Now let talk about the "comforter" it was as thin as our room card, I'm not kidding!! See pictures. It was like having two bed sheets on the bed. What happen to the big thick comforters that make you want to stay at Hilton's forever? Umm no not this crap. I froze all night long. WiFi non existent! They have us a password for it, but apparently the it was broke just like the elevator?? Lobby: the night we stayed I went down to the lobby to meet and catch up with a old friend every table in the lobby was filthy, I mean filthy it was embarrassing and disgusting. Derrick at the Front Desk provided us the best customer service we have ever experienced. He went above and beyond to welcome us to the hotel and made sure our experience was outstanding. We were traveling across country on a stressful trip situation and had about 100 hotels to choose from in this area. We called this hotel for general information but we were so delighted with his friendliness and attitude on the phone we didn't even look anywhere else. To make things better Derrick greeted us at the door when we arrived and asked if we are alright. He seemed genuinely worried about us and we are still grateful for his kind demeanor and outstanding level of service. At first things seemed ok, staff was friendly (so we thought), room was clean but had an odd smell, balcony furniture was dirty and broken as well as the door to the balcony was also broken. Here's the kicker..less than an hour before we checked out a $50 and $60 separate charge were made to my account. I called to see why, and was told that we were "smoking cigarettes" in the room?? False. We don't even smoke cigarettes. It's very upsetting considering we already paid almost $150 for one night, made sure our room was tidy, even went as far as to leave the housekeeper a tip. I left a message with the manager and was never called back. So beware for false charges made to your account. Definitely won't be staying again. read more

I never ate there so no idea food or hours offered. Parking is really tight and poorly designed to get out easy or park. Not a good experience. I reserved a room in advance of a 10 hour drive and was completely disappointed when I arrived. The woman at the front desk was not welcoming and had the mask barely covering her mouth and not at all her nose. There was a sign right in front of her that stated masks were to be worn. There was a pile of dirty towels laying on the ground by the front desk. One elevator was not working the other was incredibly slow. We got to the door of the room and the "safety" seal was already ripped in half. It DID NOT feel clean and there were cobwebs at the patio door. I tried calling the front desk multiple time with no answer. I checked out. In a time when cleanliness is so important I found this unacceptable. read more

Recently stayed at this Hampton Inn while in town for work! I originally made my reservation online, but realized that I needed an extra day at the beginning. I called and made the additional reservation but was basically told I would have to work with the hotel to combine the reservation. I arrived around 6pm and went to the front desk. The staff there was so nice and friendly, they immediately let me know they would accommodate my request and so wouldn't have to switch rooms, etc. Since it was dark out, I didn't really see too much but woke up to a fantastic view! I also wanted to point out that they have some awesome sustainable practices in place, such as using paper straws!!! And the smoothies at breakfast were fantastic!! read more

Best bed/sleep of four hotels in 4 nights! Bed was finally low enough for a normal person to be seated on the edge of it, too. Came at a cost, almost double other similar hotels across the south, $168. (for someone arriving after dark and leaving early, not disturbing much of the room) Clerk said corporate sets it. Stayed here out of necessity, as all the hotels in the area seemed to be booked... always amazes me how the economy is "on the verge of collapse", yet people are spending $$ like crazy on travel? In any event, this was a lackluster experience, to say the least. We'd stayed in a Hampton several nights before that in Davenport FL, which was an EXCEPTIONAL experience. The rooms and the hallway carpet (especially by the elevator) were filthy... there was little A/C in the hallways; less in the elevator. I think hotels are doing this to save money. Our A/C unit in the room, when turned on, smelled of a boy's locker room. Upon further inspection, it was obvious that the unit had not been cleaned or serviced in a LONG TIME (see pictures). Ice machines, on several floors, were not working; had to try other floors to find one that did work. My question is, if these hotels are BANKING and making tons of $$, why is it that they can't renovate rooms as they go? Especially if its not a matter of cash flow? But of course, I guess their thinking is, why do it if they're FULL all the time? read more

Outside of the bed and bathroom, the rooms were dated and filthy. All surface items (USB hubs, lamp bases etc.) were covered with a sticky dusty substance. Lampshades were cracked. I wore shower shoes inside the room as the carpet was so dirty looking and frayed. We used the pool and were happy with it's upkeep. Breakfast was good. The attendant there kept everything clean and stocked, and was available for questions. Fiberglass shower was clean but yellowed...This hotel needs a full remake! read more

We had a great experience here. We needed to check in a little early in order to change for a wedding. The front desk was happy to accommodate us and figured out a way to make that happen. The room was really clean and smelled fresh. They are renovating and one elevator is out of commission. The front desk crew is friendly and upbeat! I'd stay here again. read more

As far as a Hilton/Hampton location goes this one isn't bad. As you approach there is an overall good feel. As you walk in you get the first feel. Really friendly staff, checked us in. Real quick you get a dated feel from the inside. Carpet looks like it's from the late 70's early 80's. Finish isn't modern like many of the Hamptons that are going through renovations. Room was kind of the same, not bad, but has a dated feel to it as well. Spacious with a fridge and microwave to go along with the normal TV and desk/table. View wasn't bad, where the river outlets into the gulf (at a distance). I have to be honest, staff was kind of hit or miss. When we checked in and checked out they were over the top nice. But, the night staff wasn't too thrilled about having to work, or that was the vibe they gave, once they interacted. They weren't quick to acknowledge us, nor were they exceptionally friendly. Breakfast is provided, just like any other Hampton location, with your stay. They had eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, yogurt, juices, etc. All was pretty fresh and not too bad tasty wise. I wouldn't avoid returning here if I was in the area. They could use an update to the interior. Also, be cautious the water in front of the hotel had a gator floating around the whole time we were here. read more

This place is horrible!! The first room we got had not been serviced, unmade beds and used towels all over the bathroom. Girl at front desk was rude and rolled her eyes when I went back down to ask for another room. Our second room is moldy and smells. My mother is handicapped so she couldn't take another room move after a long day in the car. The parking is a nightmare, no lighting and very unsafe especially for women traveling alone. The hot water will literally give you third degree burns. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, I checked for bedbugs and stains and luckily didn't find anything I could spot. Avoid this place at home all costs!!! I will be calling corporate tomorrow. As a Hilton Diamond member this is a disgrace to the brand. read more

It's five stars because you get back so much more than what you paid for. When a budget-conscious hotel exceeds your expectations, they should be rewarded. Room - Ask for as many shampoos and soap bars as you want. It's almost like it's their duty to get rid of them. The beds are so comfortable. The blankets make you want to melt into them. They're not five-star blankets, but for the amount that we paid for, they felt like five stars. Service - Excellent. If you're a rewards member, they treat you even better. The receptionist showered us with Moon Pies and Diet Cokes. I felt like a celebrity getting rsome oyal treatment! Happy Hour - From Monday to Saturday, the hotel serves complimentary wine, beer, coffe, tea, and a variety of snacks (from popcorn to fruits to snacks and salsa) from 5-7PM. A storm happened to roll into view during this time and the view from the lobby was spectacular. It felt like you were watching a documentary from your seat. The food was delicious and the staff did a wonderful job. Complimentary Breakfast - So good! I loved the cheesy omelettes, the yogurt, the variety of milks and creams, waffle irons, and hot, delicious carbs all around. I can't imagine a more lovely, quaint way to start out your morning in south Alabama. Just like Happy Hour, the staff doesn't hold back. No food item is left in low quantity for long and everything tastes fresh. Thank you, Hampton Inn for making the vacation I had with my parents to be memorable and pleasant! read more

This used to be a great hotel to come to. Happy hour included gumbo or other snacks. We would grab our goodies & head out to the balcony to enjoy the views & meet new people. New ownership has done away with this & not sure why. I strongly urge everyone who has come here & enjoyed this happy hour, no other hotel offered, to please bring it back. Another thing we were not made aware of is the hotel is currently under construction. I'm sure the updates are greatly needed, but not doing away with the social happy hour. read more

My wife and I stayed here last week while looking for somewhere to live due to a job relocation. We stayed on the 6th floor which was awesome. Extremely quiet and one great view. The location of this hotel was also and is convenient for my new job until we get moved down south. We currently live in Huntsville. There are some decent choices of restaurants in the area and you're not a far drive from Fairhope for other options. Walking distance is great for Boudreaux's Cajun Grill. Food was plentiful and excellent here. Alligator alley and the greenway walking area are also a plus since they are right by the hotel. Sat on balcony in our room for bring home dinner one night and it was great. read more

I love this place! Many of my friends stay here when I decide to not house them. 1/2 of the rooms have views overlooking Mobile Bay. The pool is always clean, overlooks the Bsy and keeps good breezes. Their weekly food spread is better than most Hampton's. Wednesday's they feature gumbo from Market by the Bay. (Yummy). The staff is generally awesome and I have never heard a complaint. The price for a Bay view is 1/4 of the cost of the Grand Hotel and the location cannot be beat. If I was on a journey and needed a stop for the day this would be it. Especially on a Wednesday! Oh - it was just redone as well. The lobby area is great for working, reading, watching tv or waiting on that gumbo. read more

The rooms are older but clean and updated. The staff was nice. Parking was ample. My only complaint would be the cleaning crew leaving a half used bottle of lotion in the room. I guess they didn't want to waste any, but given the coronavirus virus issues, it was probably not a good idea. There was a walking trail steps away from the hotel, which is great if you have a pet with you or just want to get some exercise. There was also a Cajun Grill within walking distance of the hotel if you'd like a good meal but don't feel like driving. Overall, not a bad spot to stop for a night. read more

We needed somewhere to stay for just one night so we found this fairly reasonable hotel for about $100/night. The lobby and breakfast area are fairly clean and what you would expect for a Hampton Inn. The employees were all mostly helpful, no complaints there. The room, however, left a few things to be desired. The bathroom vanity area appeared to be recently renovated, which was nice. The shower, however, was in disrepair. The shower head was very dirty, the paint was peeling in the shower, and there were several spots that appeared mildewed. The sheets did not have a crisp, "just washed" feeling at all, and seemed to have possibly not been changed. This was, by far, not the worst experience I have had at a hotel, but definitely not somewhere I'd go for a second stay. read more

The previous reviews are all accurate so far. Started with the girl at the counter when we checked in at 9pm on 11/22/21. From the second she walked around the corner you could tell she didn't want to be here, and her "doorknob" personality reflected it throughout the encounter. If you don't appreciate your job then there are other places to work more suited for your personality, like McDonalds. First impressions are everything; hers reflects very poorly on Hilton, and she should truly be fired. Secondly, how long exactly has the elevator been broken? Reviews dating back a year ago and as recent as a month ago all say elevator was broken. What a shame, Hilton. Building and rooms are definitely in need of a multimillion dollar renovation. Bathrooms have moldy caulk and rooms have old carpets. Old light fixtures have next to zero outlets for cell chargers, etc. but that problem could be rectified with a single multi port nightstand outlet with both outlets and USB charging ports. Looks like management has dropped the ball on several fronts. We'll see how breakfast goes....... Overall, my wife and I are not impressed one bit. The name Hilton usually stands for something and is why we are Diamond members and choose to stay. Apparently this location is the red-headed stepchild of the company. Members of Hilton's Corporate team should be forced to stay here for a night. I bet some things would change! read more
