I stayed at Wingate by Wyndham located in Shreveport, LA (airport) for one night on September 6th, 2021. The air conditioner had a bad odor. I could see the filter in the air conditioner and it was dirty. I had to sleep with a mask on because it smelled so bad. The television remote control was in a bag and when pulled out, it was dirty And the television was dirty. The sink seemed to be stopped up and the toilet was leaking. We were giving two door keys and one of them didn't work. When we were checking for a nice hotel to stay at, we thought that it would be a great place to stay overnight. When we got to the hotel, it did not look like the picture on the hotel website. I was not satisfy with my stay at the hotel. We also saw roaches In the room. There was also an odor in the hallway. read more

Sadly, I have been traveling to Mobile a lot recently as I have 2 uncles terminally ill. So I looked forward to very nice, stress free and comfortable accommodations as it is a stressful visit in itself to begin with. Initially we were excited to book this hotel at such a great deal since ratings on other websites were pretty high. Upon entering, it seemed as though we had a winner, the hotel was clean, we were greeted by a friendly staff and it was complete with a business center, fitness room and a continental breakfast included. Trouble started the very next morning. Here's the rundown. 1. 1st morning, we were awaken around 5am to a very loud mother cursing out her husband and children for 2 hours in the room adjacent to us. I finally had to get up and knock on the door to get them to hush. Though I don't blame this experience on the hotel, travelers should be aware that the walls are pretty thin. 2. There is only a night stand in the King rooms. We had two rooms during our stay (read below for why) and both rooms had the same sort of setup. The nightstand issue isn't a deal breaker at all, but in this day of people having multiple devices to charge it would be nice for two people to have a table for their phone and bottle of water overnight. 3. Business Center has only one computer and one printer with no time limit. Someone else went down early in the morning and set up shop for 3 hours while I waited patiently to use the computer. Front desk staff did not tell the person time up or anything, but they DID print my item for me so that was OK. Still annoying. I'm accustomed to places with a 15 minute limit when others are waiting (or at least 2 to 4 workstations in lodgings this size). 4. Continental breakfast was awful. There was rarely much to chose from despite arriving early, and twice grabbed fruit I bought back to my room to find out it was rotten. 5. Vile stench like something had died in my room became really strong on the 2nd night. Looking for the smell, we discovered it came from a brown water leak in the back of the refrigerator. We complained to the staff twice around 10am and were assured it would be taken care of that day. Not only was it not taken care of when we returned to our room at midnight, no one had even come to the room to look at it. We had to move rooms at midnight with the only available bellhop cart to help us move our bags being broken (a flat wheel). Imagine being exhausted, and gathering all your stuff to move up 2 floors in the middle of the night when all they had to do was remove the fridge, clean up the area and clean the room. 6. Downstairs lobby men's restroom had a toilet that remain plugged up with human waste for 48 hours. The same waste. No one even touched it. How is that possible? 7. Some work was going on with the soda machines during our stay. It looked like they were all being moved out. The company moving them left major water spills throughout the hotel, including elevator, elevator lobby and 2nd floor elevator lobby and around the snack vending machine. It was dirty water too. This was not cleaned up at all by anyone and had air dried to leave the dirt behind. The floors stayed dirty the remainder of our visit. 8. Staff seemed to really lack caring about our room situation. No one was rude, but it was just like ok that was normal that there was a big problem and it wasn't taken care of. Overall we were beyond disappointed. Even at the promotional rate of $70/night. There are a lot of clean motels to choose from in Mobile around the same rate or less and we were so sad that it was our bad luck we picked this one. Orbitz did an amazing job trying to help us but the staff even gave Orbitz customer service problems. Finally, last week, we were given a refund for 1 night, which is quite nice. However my advice remains to run from this hotel and don't look back. You aren't missing anything. I will never book at this brand or parent brand again. read more

I seen a cockroach in the bathroom as I was showering.. the water when I showered was cold.. there was hardly any towels.. i paid $100 for this hotel and it was the worst decision yet, i don't recommend it's not worth it. After staying in the two worst Motel 6's ever on my drive East, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade a bit on the way home. This Wingate was definitely a good choice. Hotels.com lists it as a 2.5 star facility but it is 97% recommended, I was able to get AAA rate for a total bill of about $100 for the night. Seeing as if you drive a little further west, even the cheapo motels are pushing $100 a night, this is a crazy good value. The facility itself appears to be a recent construction, is clean, attractive and well maintained. Our two-queen room has very attractive, modern dark wood furnishings with a down or faux down duvet on the beds, very clean and fresh bedding. The mattresses feel new and not lumpy. There is a good sized desk, mini fridge and mini microwave. The AC works very well. There is a flat screen TV with cable, free wifi (though the bandwidth was a bit limited - no streaming netflix or hulu from here - you could check your email and the news and such at least). They appear to have a clean pool area and a nice gym facility though I didn't use either one. They serve a breakfast which I am about to go sample, once the teenage stepson gets his butt out of the shower. I am giving them 5 stars not because there are no better hotels/motels out there, but because for the price point it is about as good as it gets. read more

I like this hotel. The price is amazing. The landing that is on the 2nd. It's a nice touch, although, it's not a 5 hotel it is still nice for the money. The hospitality given is a bit dry. But at least a smile is given. The rooms are super cute. It is dark if you are trying to read but perfect if u want to relax and unwind. The bathroom has a great upscale look to them. I am a huge fan of teal and chocolate. I am amazed that they strived for a 5 look without the price and it worked!!!! read more

Wow! Just for context I mention that I am a platinum member with Marriott. and Gold with Wyndham and Hilton. My point is that I know what I am talking about when it comes to the "hospitality" business. I left my room at 10AM this morning and when I came back at 3:30pm, my room was/had not been made up. So, when I told them they informed me that the housekeeping was gone. I said no problem, just take this one night off my bill. OK. in about 1/2 hour the owner came up and said that the DND sign was out and so they did not clean. I never did put the sign out. To which he started arguing and said that yes I did. Well. . .no I didn't I said. But he said, yes I did!? And so it went. Then he asked me if I was blind and Stupid. and That if I didn't lower my voice ( I suppose I was louder than he was, but not by much) he would "trespass me". Amazing! So, he had someone come and clean the room. I guess housekeeping wasn't gone after all. I'm not sure what to say, except do not expect to much "hospitality" at this place! read more

Wow!!! This hotel is NOT owned by a member of the Patel family. These folks own most of the chain hotels up and down IH35 and the most argumentative people I have ever done business with. I booked this hotel at the last minute. I had planned to do a resort in Biloxi, MS, but could not stay the whole 5 days. I had drove overnight, 12+ hours. I called to see if I could check in early and they told me I could. I got into the room and about 5 minutes later, they called to see if the room was OK. The beds were comfortable and the fixtures were new. The Breakfast had biscuits, bacon and sausage as well as make your own waffles. Keep in mind, the breakfast ends at 930. One guy was whining because he missed breakfast and was begging the lady to make him some eggs and bacon. The Wifi was a little slow, but was usable. I would definitely book another Wingate hotel. The staff was very friendly and outgoing to make sure my stay was nice. read more

The gym was off limits after 10 pm, which is truly disappointing for travelers on unconventional schedules, the wifi was very weak, and most distressing of all they have a sign announcing that all conversations in the public areas are recorded? This was strictly a place to lay my head for the night, so I didn't spend a large amount of time there, but it was perfect for what I needed. Very close to the highway and easy to spot at night - it's amongst a cluster of hotels so you have to pay attention to get the correct parking lot (but shouldn't you be paying attention anyway?) but parking is free and easy to find. The woman who checked us in was very friendly. The room was a good size, the bed was VERY comfortable, and the best part of all: it was QUIET. On a Saturday night. I didn't hear a peep out of anyone, no traffic noise, no early morning housekeeping. After a long day on the road, it was wonderful. And I am a pretty light sleeper in hotels, so I was pleasantly surprised. We were in a bit of a rush the next morning, so I didn't partake in the continental breakfast, but we stopped by to get some coffee and it looked like they had a good selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, etc. One of the employees was making waffles. Always interesting, which hotels trust the guests with the waffle maker and which don't...Anyways, I liked this Wingate and would return in the future. Oh, they also have a pool (packed with kids, even at 9pm), but no hot tub. read more

Excellent all the way around. The young man at the desk was friendly and very accommodating. We wanted to know if there were any AARP or other discounts available and he and my husband had fun with it. Everyone we saw had a smile and a greeting. The room was clean and had everything we needed. I love that the coffee maker was not in the bathroom! Our room had a desk with chair and e comfortable side chairs. I normally avoid the free breakfast but this one was not bad. The area was very clean and while not Cracker Barrel it was good. read more

We had the whole clan in town (me, wife, and 3 kids as well as parents and sister in different rooms) for a family reunion. Extended family decided to book a block of rooms at the Wingate. My expectations for a hotel room aren't super high but the Wingate is missing the mark in several areas. The biggest no no for any hotel is filth. Our room was just unclean. The bathroom wasn't clean either. The room smelled musty and sheets felt like sand paper. The breakfast was also a poor example of quality. On the flip side the staff was friendly and they were going through a remodel. I know that makes it tougher to provide first class accommodations. If I could offer anything to the Wingate I would ask them to focus on a cleaner room with a fresher, cleaner smell and newer sheets. Adjust things in those areas and I'm confident they will experience great success. read more

We had to evacuate New Orleans during Hurricane Isaac and we were desperately looking for a place to stop and rest. We were desperate but not enough to just settle for any crap place, we wanted our moneys worth and in a time of stress we got lucky finding this place. The front desk and manager were very accommodating and kind. They gave us a great price while every other hotel was price gauging because they were getting booked up left and right due to the storm. If you stayed for more then one night it was only $74 per night. Amazing deal for such a great place. They set us up right next to the washer and dryer room, on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Hotel seems new, new furniture. Free quick wifi, microwave, safe, flat screen, coffee maker, refrigerator, comfy king bed, strong ac, pretty much everything. Slight negative was the shower water pressure was very weak and it took a while for the hot water to come on, however, once hot water was on it stays very hot, no in btw warm lol. Still the decor was pretty dark wood and bathroom was nicely set up with plenty of shelves. Housekeeping leaves after 6pm I think so call downstairs to arrange for them if u want room cleaned. There is free breakfast with a waffle maker lol and fresh fruit in the morning. They have a nice outside pool and inside gym. There is no smoking but at night by the pool, they have comfy chairs and tables where u can sit and smoke when no one is around. We sat by the pool and smoked and many people joined us at night. Very peaceful. The location of area was perfect. Every store you needed was a quick minute away. Walmart, Best Buy, Lowes, Target, Mall area, Five Guys, Restaurants, etc everything was right by. If you like asian food, Three Flavors Restaurant a block away is amazing deal. They serve sushi, pho, and a great thai menu. We got this hotel for a pretty decent price through sites like Hot Wire and bid for less than $100 per room. The room itself was great- there was clean showers, a flat screen tv and the beds were clean and had no scent. The only thing I could complain about was the gym. This gym absolutely sucks. The running machine and elliptical were rusty, the press machine was broken, and there was a machine where I didn't even know how it worked. In total, there were 5 machines in a cramped up room where maybe in total 7 people could be there if every station was filled up and two were doing sit ups on the floor. There was no water in the containers and no towels, but there was a towel rack and basket. The pool was outdoors and looked really dirty- maybe they should invest in an indoor pool or a cover for the pool. Besides the gym and pool, the room itself was nothing to complain about. The staff had our check in very smooth and it was a pretty quiet location despite being right in front of the highway. The view was right in the high way, but it wasn't too noisy. Overall, it was a good experience but the gym could use improvement. I give it a 3 star JUST BECAUSE of the gym. If the gym was bigger and the equipment was nicer and updated with dumbells and non rusty machines, I would've rated it a lot higher- possibly a 4.5 for the price you pay. read more

I brought my bags to the front desk and told the worker that I needed another room because the one she assigned me was not cleaned. We had to make a last minute reservation and called and reserved 3 rooms thru their phone booking. Everything has been sold out with so much going on this weekend. When we got here to check in the reservation people only reserved two rooms but the management went way beyond to accommodate us even though they were booked giving us a suite at a very discounted rate plus our other room which worked out perfect for us. This place is very clean, staff is super friendly, and rooms are very nice! They were a life saver for our family!!! read more

Left stranded in LA @ 10.30pm at night! I booked hotel accom thru Qantas. Wyngate by Wyndham in LA (near LAX airport) for the night of Tue 6 Aug 2019. Problem...While I was in US my bank in Australia had to de-activate my Visa Debit card as they picked up suspicious activity (the only place I used it was this same hotel when I first arrived???). This apparently stopped the Wyngate by Wyndham reception from letting me occupy the room which was paid for in full on 14 Jun 19. They wanted to put a security deposit on my card. The reception were totally unhelpful. I offered to pay Cash for it...Answer, No! Against company policy. I offered to pay using my Global Currency Card - Answer, No! My fiance spoke to this gentleman on the phone, explained that she had my new replacement card in Australia & offered to quote the number over the phone. Again... No! Not their policy. He had to physically see it he said. I am now stranded in LA with no accommodation & it's after 10.30pm at night. I have a long 15hr flight back to Australia tomorrow night. I will never again book accom via Qantas or stay at this hotel. My fiance tried to ring Qantas Hotel bookings in Australia to get them to sort out a refund with this hotel, they said sorry...the booking wasn't in her name & they couldn't help. I am at present trying to find a taxi to take me to somewhere where I can sleep after a long flight from Nashville. When I said I was going to put in a complaint with his head office...His reply was, "They don't give a f@#k.....Never again! If I could give a zero rating I would. read more

CAREFUL IF STAYING FOR A CRUISE. First off, they have no connection with hotels.com. No shuttles I think past 5 pm so we had to uber in once our plane landed. Possibly hotels.com fault but worth mentioning. However, the huge issue was we paid for shuttling to and from cruise port which this location offers. To make a very long story only long, we were transported fine to the cruise port. However, when we arrived back what a nightmare. We waited. And waited. And waited. While I kept calling the hotel. They just kept saying they're making their rounds. Third call I ask for manager it goes to his mailbox, which is full. (Come to find out later he was doing other shuttle because they're so short staffed) waited more than HOUR AND A HALF. Finally on the 5th call, they tell me they're picking up on the road a few minute walk from where everyone else is getting picked up and dropped off. I drag our bags over in a hurry, and I see a van leaving once I get to the road. I squint and barely see "Wyndham" on the license plate. They had left us!! I called yet again and they said okay we'll have driver come back. He comes back takes us and get to hotel. We informed them we'd need ride to AirPort which was no problem. Oh wait it was now though. Driver said he had to go to cruise port. All of a sudden, we're going to miss our flight. Only good person was Dana who took us in her own car to the airport, where we literally made our flight by 2 minutes. Horrible experience, stress, and no communication or organization. AND NO APOLOGIES. This manager said was cruise port fault and relayed this to corporate. They did not Justify this horrible experience in any way and I don't want 3,000 points for a future discount!!! I don't want your hotels after this. If it wasn't for me barely seeing that license plate we would've waited longer and missed our flight. So buyer beware if you use Wyndham you may have issues , and if you do their "customer service" is basically nonexistent and will do nothing other than say services were provided. read more

A Second Rate Motor-lodge Masquerading as a Hotel The room was dirty. The carpet needed to be vacuumed and there was a lot of hair on the floor of the bathroom, (around the edges). The walls of the shower had soap scum on them. The nightstand surface had not been wiped and had hand prints and sticky food-drip "stains". The desk chair had a cloth seat which had several gross-looking stains. The room was on the side of the building that faces the freeway and traffic sound was unimpeded. The room I was in was also next to the elevator shaft so I got to hear the elevator machinery noise. The toilet was set right next to the vanity, (about 6 inches), blocking access to 1/2 of the vanity and part of the sink. Yet on the other side there was 3 1/2 feet between the toilet and the shower, (I measured). The wireless internet was so bad that I did some speed tests. The best result was: PING = 316ms, Download = 1.26 Mbps, Upload = .03 mps. For non-technical people, that is quite poor. The breakfast area is messy with trash cans full, dirty table tops, and they don't keep up with re-stocking the food very well. Even the plastic utensils were of such cheap quality that the forks were almost useless. I travel to Mobile periodically and I can guarantee that I won't be staying here again. read more

We were passing through on our way home from vacation and chose this hotel to stop at for the night. Check in was quick and easy. After check in we brought our luggage in and were greeted with a cloud of cigarette smoke as we entered the front door. We made our way up to the room and were happy with the cleanliness and decor. We called down to the front desk for an extra blanket and was told that the probably didn't have one but would check and call back. We never got a call back. What kind of hotel does not have extra blankets? The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The wifi was slow, but usable. The breakfast was good with a nice variety of hot foods. The breakfast attendant was not friendly and chewed me out for not spraying the waffle iron. Upon departure we again had to walk through smoke to leave the hotel. Overall the visit was good. The room was nice and breakfast was great but the hotel should work on customer service and move the smoking area away from the front door. read more
