We booked one night here based on the photos and as you can see from mine, this looks like an ok hotel for the price. We were passing through and just needed a place to sleep and shower. They are also pet friendly and let our dog stay for $25 extra. When we entered to head to our room, the smell of marijuana hit me like a ton of bricks and I started getting a headache immediately. I am not exaggerating, it literally made my head hurt. We got into our room and the smell was a little better but still SO strong. We opened up the room and turned on the AC (in winter) to try to get the smell out. I always carry air freshener when we travel and tried that as well. The room looked fine (see photos) but it just wasn't cleaned well, which you can't really tell from pictures. The smell never went away and actually started getting worse later in the evening. I laid down because of my headache and luckily fell asleep so I didn't have to endure it anymore. It's ironic that they have a placard in the room about this. I added a photo of that too and because it's so close up, you get an idea of the cleanliness of the room as well. It got us through the night but it was not a comfortable stay and we left as soon as I showered in the morning. Based on other reviews, I don't think this was an isolated incident, it seems like this is common here so if it's not something you can deal with, I would recommend staying elsewhere. read more

Walked in to a dark lobby with everything moved out of the main lobby due to a major water leak. Plastic wrap and tape on entire ceiling. We were informed it was burst water pipe from several weeks. We went up to our third floor room and greeted with more plastic drapping the left handside entry, closing off all the rooms to the to left. We went right to our room down the cold, wet and dank hallway. Looks like the water leak was massive from the top floor to the lobby. We now know why the front desk person said they only had two rooms left in the entire hotel when we checked in at 5:00 p.m. Half the rooms are probably water logged and closed off LOL. This place should close for repairs. Stained sheets. That said, lobby woman very nice and accommodated our request away from the elevator. She was the bright spot. Nothing else very good. Never coming back. Great my husband said well at least they have a big TV set in the room. He turns it on, every channel has a pink hue. Not watchable, TV set doesn't work. We give up, can't wait to leave tomorrow morning. read more

The owners of this property appear to not care about maintaining this hotel. The grounds are littered with old garbage (bleached aluminum cans take a while to get that way. PICK THEM UP.) the air conditioning units work, but they rattle like an old pickup truck with a bad wheel bearing. The furniture is cheap and ugly. On the bright side the beds are comfortable and the price is ok. They take pets with a fee that they sometimes waive, so if the Home2 across the street is booked this would do in a pinch. We usually only stay 1 night in the way to Disney from Arkansas anyway. read more

Recommend this hotel. Our AC went out and we decided to get a hotel late that night on a school/work night. It was too hot to sleep. We have a dog that may not know he is a dog and wanted to take him with us. This La Quinta is the only nearly pet friendly hotel we could find at the moment and that made the initial decision for us. Glad that we did and know now of a great pet friendly local hotel. The front desk staff (both in the late evening and early morning) was very nice, understanding, and accommodating. We were able to check in quickly, find out room, and get settled. The hotel looked to have been updated/renovated recently. Modern color scheme and furniture. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The AC was not on when we arrived (expected), but quickly cooled the room and we all slept cool and comfortable. Shower was clean and water warmed quickly. Updated faucet fixtures. There was a generic nightlight plugged into the bathroom. This was unexpected and much appreciated. I was able to move it closer to the bedside where the youngest child sleeps. He still needs some light while he sleeps, but the older kid does not. As a mom, I really liked this touch. I have not seen just a basic night light in a hotel in a long time. I try to remember when traveling, but didn't cross my mind this time. Everyone (family of 4 plus pup) was able to move about easily. The breakfast the next morning was much appreciated. We all got dressed and was able to enjoy a family breakfast together before heading off to school and work. My kids really like the fact that they got to have freshly made waffles for breakfast with juice. As expected, animals are not permitted in the breakfast area. He got to walk around in outdoor pet area and them waited in the car while we had breakfast. This was not a big deal for our family, but appreciated. We will be recommending this hotel for any of our out of town guests. read more

Needs a few updates. Pet friendly though which is nice. No issues finding a parking spot around the building. Small store inside at reception for snacks or any toiletries you forgot. Breakfast in the morning and water and coffee in the lobby 24/7. Poop bags and trash cans around the building for those dog walks before bed or departure from the hotel. Rooms were clean but as mentioned before could use an update. Our AC unit was also extremely loud. Other than that is was a nice stay. Driving from Florida back to Colorado so it was a nice stop for some rest. Our dogs were quiet but the room next to us had a small dog that yelped at every new sound. Downside of the dog friendly rooms is being next to a dog. Staff was friendly though. Quick in and out from the freeway and in close proximity to local military bases. Hard to find dog friendly hotels on the road so glad we found this. Think they decided to not update rooms and keep the older ones for "dogs." read more

Great hotel, friendly staff. Andrea & Jennufer were great. All the rooms are accessible and have walk in showers and some tubs. They all have the low toilets but with metal bars to grab onto. They have not updated the a/c units yet but overall great front desk staff and lots of grassy area with outside lights for service animals & dogs. Their is a McDonald's right next door. The breakfast was biscuits gravy, waffles, cereal, potatoes, and eggs. Pretty good spread. I had the animals & Bananas. And the pool was nice plus they have laundry service for guests just $2.00 a load. read more

I'm just reading the reviews wondering if you people got hotels mixed up because there ain't no way we are talking about the same place. The hotel had such a strong smell of marijuana it would get you high going to the ice machine. The pool area was disgusting. We went that night and there was socks, shorts, shoes, towels, dirty napkins, and a rolled up T-shirt with vomit all over it. All this was still there the next day when we left around 11am. The so called breakfast was pathetic. Coffee and prepackaged danishes and they couldn't even keep the canisters filled or danishes stocked. They were at first great, got my great grandma who is 93 a handicap room but no walk in shower so they gave her a chair to use and sit in. When I left with my kids to take them to the beach she stay which is fine she lives by her self, has for 30 years. They called me saying she asked for more towels so when the maid went in to give more towels that my great grandma made a mess in the bathroom and in the future they would not clean but will today. My great grandma said she was going to clean it up with the towels. They also claim that she destroy their chair in our room by having an accident on and because of that they have to kick us out, we were suppose to stay 8 nights but only got to stay 1. They offered to let us stay one more night but my great grandma was crying about this hole thing and feel like she did something wrong. The so called chair has no stain on it at all. I even unzipped it and looked at the inside still no stain, I asked if they could just wash the fabric like I do with my couch covers at home they said no. They also said they will be charging us a $75 cleaning fee, she's 93 and they knew that when we checked in and we were in a handicap room. I posted pictures of the so called chair that's ruined, both sides of it. They told us at 1pm that we have to check out tomorrow, my great grandma is so upset crying and does not want to enter into the building at all. I checked us out today because she doesn't want to enter or stay here longer but they are still charging us for tonight even tho we aren't even staying because they said that check out is at 11am even tho they told us at 1pm we would have to check out tomorrow. They really made a 93 women cry and not want to enter a building. read more

We were only going to stay one night on our way home, but bad weather moved in so stayed two nights! Very clean hotel, room was comfortable, we had our dog(French Bulldog) and it was no problem. Staff all very nice, couple minor things got corrected quickly, smoke alarm and Tv remote needed batteries. Wyndham seems to have improved the La Quinta quite a bit!! The breakfast also very good, eggs and sausage was fresh and hot. We will now look for LQ, more in the future. read more

However, on the morning of check out at 10:15 (check out is 11:00), an employee knocks once and opens my door while I'm getting dressed just to tell me check out is at 11:00. He wasn't here to clean the room or anything. I think that was wildly inappropriate to let himself into my room while I'm changing, 45 minutes before check out just to tell me check out is at 11:00. read more

Stayed on the 2nd floor and got no sleep because of a sports team they put on the 3rd floor a bunch of kids.Running back and forth and rolling the chair back and forth until 12am. Did not check out on time and receive no phone call or anything. Did not leave until after 12. Waited till I left to charge me another day. Found out because my room key did not work. Tried several times to talk to the manager but his staff cover up for him. They even lied and said he was not there because he had Covid. Brought it to Corporate and they also did nothing. First of all, the employees are all fantastic! Friendly and helpful and appear to really enjoy their jobs, which is so nice to see. I appreciated that they are pet friendly and have vinyl and tile floors instead of carpet. Makes it a a lot less stressful if your pet has food crumbs or drips from drinking water on floor because it is an easy clean up. Nice, well lit parking lot with plenty of spaces. The hotel has grass banks surrounding the parking lots if you have a dog that won't go potty on landscaping rocks. Only negative is no cleanup bags outside, although we had our own and you could probably ask for some at front desk and I wished people would pick up their own cigarette butts from the rock areas as my dog kept trying to eat them. The rooms are spacious and had a microwave, refrigerator, large tv and was stocked with plenty of bath towels and pillows on the bed. Room was nice and cool, bedding comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast had a nice variety and we appreciated that they offered hot foods. Plenty of shops, grocery stores and restaurants in the area. Close to major highways which makes it very convenient as a stop on a long trip. We will definitely stay again on our way back through! read more

Took a road trip from Texas to visit family in FL, and this area was a halfway stopping point. For this trip, I decided to bring my pup with me, so I had to look around for pet-friendly hotels. I chose La Quinta because they do not charge additional fees when staying with a pet (I saw other so-called "pet-friendly" hotels with up to a $125 nonrefundable "fee" for one night!). The motel is under renovations, and I think I got an updaded room - it had a comfy memory foam bed and vinyl wood flooring. Plus the room was very spacious and had high ceilings. Great location- near lots of shopping and dining, including Starbucks. Would recommend if traveling with your fur-babies! read more

My husband and I stayed here on a cross country trip. Our trip was mainly for getting from point A to B, with our 2 small dogs. We each had our own cars with belongings in them, we parked outside near the hotel. Luckily, our cars were OK. My husband and I opted to stay here since we had our dogs with us, I like that La Quinta doesn't charge extra for pet stays. I doubt we will be back to this city, but the hotel gets two thumbs up. This hotel was not cheap, but since we had our belonging with us we didn't want to stay in a unsafe area. We were happy with the quality and cleanliness of our room. We had breakfast the next morning, we were happy with the choices. As mentioned in previous reviews, this location is good for getting on and off the highway. read more

Brand new hotel, loves dogs, fast wireless in the room, sleep number bed, free continental breakfast with a hot dish each day (sausage egg and biscuits was my favorite), and pretty close to Mobile. Downsides: All the employees (including the MANAGER) smoke right outside, right under the no smoking signs, right in front of the main entrance. Plus the hot tub had scum on the surface if you looked at the exact right angle, in their defense there was a big storm the day before. Overall I wish more hotels would take after this La Quinta. This was the worst La Quinta I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at and we have stayed with them a lot. The room was hot because the air was not on. There was hair on the wash cloth in the bathroom. There was dirt on the comforter. There was a wet hand towel under the pillow. The floors were so dirty that we had black on the bottom of our feet and our socks. There was dirt in the ice that we got from the machine. During Covid especially I would expect better cleaning practices to be in place. read more

Crappy construction and no pride was put into the interior finishes. From within my room I can hear people in their rooms on the other side of the hallway. I can even tell what it is they are watching on TV (all doors are shut). The cheap flooring in the hallways is also bubbling and completely affixed to the subfloor. Disgusting motel! Filthy outside! Pizza boxes, half filled plast glasses remained outs on the ground next to the side entrance for 3 days, even after I complained. Woke up by people running do the hallway until 3 am Absolutely no masks worn by the housekeepers or front desk staff. when I complained to the desk clerk that she was not wearing a mask, she held one up and said "I have a mask". But neglected to put it on! I told her that's like having a condom in your pocket! Alabama was still under a mask mandate by the Governor and none of the employees were wearing them! I was told by the girl who took our reservations that they had a full breakfast including eggs and meat. My husband is a diabetic and we stay in motels that have breakfast for this reason. They had nothing more than cheap pastries that you buy at Sams Club for $5 for a box of 24. I was forced to leave the motel and buy my husbands breakfast ever morning because I was lied to by the person who took our reservation! The manager refused to give us any discount whatsoever. This is a $69 motel, NOT a $130 a night motel! Filthy, unsafe, disgusting, no services or amenities of any kind! If you want to be to increase your chances of being exposed to Covid..this is the place to stay! read more

My husband and I road trip from Florida to Texas and back frequently and this is a favorite overnight stop for us! The decor is modern and cheery, the rooms always exceed our expectations and the staff is never anything short of friendly and accommodating. Great location too, with plenty of restaurants and amenities in the immediate area. Customer service at this hotel is atrocious. Daughter had a migraine so we requested a late check out (1 hour). They said it would be $35. Other members of our traveling group are across the street at the Hilton and were not charged the extra fee. I asked them to waive the fee and they refused which while not the best customer service, is their right. The kicker was how Ana at the front desk handled the situation. She was rude and unprofessional. When I shared that we have stayed here before and were not charged this extra fee, she sarcastically stated, "I'll waive the fee....if you leave at 11". I then asked to talk with her supervisor and she rudely stated, "Sorry! Not here!" I asked for his name and number and she said, "Jake!" When I asked for a last name she said she couldn't give that to me. What? He's the manager! I felt as though she thought I was one of her friends and she was looking for a fight. We travel often and stay at many hotels and this is the worst customer service we have experienced by far! La Quinta might think twice as to who they put to represent them at their front desk. Traveling with the family and pets is always difficult. Finding a hotel that will accept the pets and not charge an arm and leg to do so is hard to find. This location did not charge an extra fee which is nice when on a limited budget. This hotel is an older location that appears to have recently been updated. The room was nice and comfortable and there were no complaints with the quality. The hotel has a small pool and there is a free breakfast. The staff were very accommodating when we asked to check out a little late. The little one didn't want to get moving after the previous days long drive. read more

"Pet friendly" was the response from the person at the front desk I complained about loud noises,doors slamming. Clearly the person next to me was selling drugs out of the room or running some other shady operation all night that was sanctioned by the hotel management. I would give this lovely little place 4.5 stars. The beds were amazing! Had a room with 2 kings and a small fridge. Bathrooms were clean. Our room was ready on time, breakfast was nice and well-tended -- had a waffle maker that worked great and bacon. Sausage gravy was a nice touch. We will definitely stop here again. My only comment would be that if a family of 4 checks in with reservations made in advance, one little bottle of shampoo is probably not enough ;-). I know I could have gone down to the desk to ask for more, but at that time of the morning, it would have been awkward. Thank you for a pleasant stay. read more

GREAT LOCATION!!! This hotel was around a lot of restaurants and shopping. Although they are renovating the hotel it was very clean. Our room was OUTSTANDING and UPDATED the biggest room yet that we've stayed in for La Quinta. Whatever you do ask for room 101! It was like an apartment. So clean and spacious. We were suppose to stay in Pensacola but all the hotels are booked, do not accept pets and if they do there one time pet fee for over night is ridiculous ($75-$100) I remember La Quinta hotels being for drug deals and hourly rates. I have stayed with more expensive hotels and this one was right up with them. I have switched over to start using La Quinta hotels. The staff, especially the front desk, She was super awesome. The rooms smell really clean, the mattresses are the best. First time I didn't wake up with a backache. The carpet might need a cleaning or to be changed out. My main, and really only, requirement for hotels is cleanliness and the La Quinta meets my expectations. Offers a quality mattress, flat screen TVs, and free wi-fi. The mattress was one of those memory-foam type things (I actually tried jumping on the bed while placing a beer bottle on the other end... success!) The hot breakfast is free and the staff is friendly. Occassionally I hear some barking dogs, which is kind of annoying. Also, the wi-fi was spotty at times. Other than that, I recommend. read more

Very disappointed. We stayed at 2 la Quinta hotels during our trip and they were nice this one was NOT. I reserved a king deluxe suite and they gave us a handicap room. The room smelled like vitamins and dog pee. The room is very outdated. The plastic couch is uncomfortable to sit on. The room wasn't cleaned good. The floor was grimy. The kitchenette faucet handles had crud on them. The room was at the end of the hall and we heard people coming in and out of the side door next to our room all night. read more

We stopped at the La Quinta in Pensacola and it was so dirty and smelly that even though we were on the road for 12 hours we moved on. We stopped in Daphne and the hotel was clean and the front desk staff made sure we were happy and comfortable. The breakfast was warm and complete. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Pretty good, as LQs go. This one had newly renovated rooms with no carpet, which makes sense since so many dogs come through. The mattresses were fantastic! Breakfast was filling. I had hoped it was was going to be close to the bay, but it's actually closer to Mablis, a little east of Daphne. read more
