At 17.00 we were served wine and a cheese plate and we got help to find a lovely restaurant for the evening. It appears the new owners is all about a quick dollar and neglecting cleanliness and standards. The room was filthy! There were bugs all over the floor dead and some were alive. The floors were nasty dirty and had not been mopped. We seen a rat (yes rat not a mouse) running up the walkway where doors for rooms are. Overall would not recommend or stay at again. Health Department or someone needs to do a surprise inspection and shut this place down till rooms are up to standards. There was no rooms available anywhere due to event in area so I bought cleaning supplies and raid bug killer to clean our room. The mop water after I mopped was disgusting! The dirt and bugs I swept up were grose. There were many unhappy guest at this hotel over the weekend all having the same or similar issues.

Very rustic and serene which is exactly what you would want in the beautiful setting it was in. We sat at the picnic table at night drinking a glass of wine and watching the wildlife all around us. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was that the iternet was down but why would you WANT to be on your computer in the little slice of heaven???

In our room was some decor reminding you of the Mayberry connection. You are minutes from historic downtown and stops like...Wally's Fillin' Station, Floyd's City Barber Shop and The Andy Griffith Museum. This would be a great place to stay if visiting Mayberry Days. The only reason for 4 stars is the hotel is not marked real well. We had a hard time finding our room in a timely manner. Definitely would stay here again
