On a road trip to Florida. Last-minute decision on where to stay. Very friendly on Phone and accommodating. We got the room that we wanted with two queens. We came in in time to enjoy the wine bar. Very good wine, by the way. The beds were firm and super comfy. Great pillows. I didn't even use the one I brought from home. A nice bathroom. Very clean and had soap dispensers, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. They were all full. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Lots of choices. Fresh fruit, waffles premade omelettes, chicken sausage, and at array of cereals, yogurt, and other things. At the front desk, you can get free bottled water. Very quiet through the night. HAMPTON INN! My brother and I took a trip to North Carolina to see the Andy Griffith Museum. My brother is a huge fan of that show and the characters. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Dobson, NC, It's about 22 minutes from Mt Airy where the museum actually is. The Hampton there is a perfect place to stay! Large rooms, free parking, complimentary breakfast, low key, clean and comfortable beds. You don't need anything else, it's there for a good night's rest in comfort. My only request is that the parking areas in back need awnings. They aren't covered for entering and When it's raining, and it was, maybe put an awning up that leads you through to the back entrances so we're not getting soaked trying to enter. And it was pouring! Our keys wouldn't work so we edged our way to the next door which was an entrance to the bar (oh yeah, they have a bar! Sweeet!) but it was so wet that our keys wouldn't work. :/ The next entrance was the patio where finally a security person (thank you for having him also) saw us and let us in. Other than that little mishap we were very happy (Drenched) with our stay. So give that Hampton Inn in Dobson, NC a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I made a reservation for a room several months prior to traveling to the area for a wedding. I was traveling with a friend who requires a handicapped shower, which was the room that was on my reservation email. I received an email prior and was able to check in electronically, which I did. Upon arrival, I stopped at the front desk because I never received a link for my electronic keys. We went up to the room, and it turns out that we were given a regular 2 queen room. I called the front desk to tell them that I had reserved an accessible room with a 3x3 shower and hand held shower. The woman that I spoke to was adamant that there was no such room in the hotel. The room that I reserved also said that it slept 5, which it did not - there were 2 queens which sleep 4. My friend's daughter decided to stay with us one night as she was in the wedding and had to be back early in the a.m. for the wedding prep. I asked for a roll away and the woman said that they couldn't a roll away in a queen room. They did bring us a shower chair, which barely fit in the tub and was awkward without a hand held shower. The bathroom also did not have a vent fan. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. However we were aggravated that we did not receive the room we reserved. I specifically chose this hotel because it was the only one that had a handicapped shower in the area for the dates I needed and we didn't get what we requested as per our reservation. For that, I could have just stayed at another hotel that was closer to the venue. Not happy at all. read more

Came here for a meeting and was pleasantly surprised about the accommodations. Rooms - The rooms were very big and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the TV. it was a little small and having a big room was a little annoying. I know first world problems. Service - All of the employees were very friendly and accommodating. Traveling from Pennsylvania to Georgia, and decided to stop at this location because of how convenient it is. I was greeted by the on shift manager Claritza, and she was nothing but friendly, polite, and kind. She has a great smile, and that's always a plus for customer service! I booked a room with no prior reservation, and got the standard king room. I was given a military discount, which took my room down a few extra bucks. My room was on the four Th floor, and was nicer than I expected. Big area in the room with couch, and lots of room for Me on the bed. It was comfortable, and I had no issue with the room, sleeping, or my experience as a whole. It was great to include breakfast... this breakfast is much more than you'll get at a hotel. People should not complain about it, because this is how establishments should do! See attached photos. I will be staying here on my way back, only if the manager is claritza! She was wonderful. I feel bad leaving a not great review, especially during covid times, but we had a not great experience. We stayed in the suite for our honeymoon and check-in getting the brown bag for the continental breakfast all was fine. In our room however, we had numerous stink bugs in our room (at least 4 separate ones we saw). My husband actually woke up to one crawling on his face and on the sheets. There was screaming children in the public pool right outside our room past 11PM (probably wouldn't have been as frustrating, if it hadn't been for our room location). I was surprised they didn't have enforced hours though for the pool since it was relatively late. Lastly, there were moldy looking stains in the shower. The shower itself was amazing, but unsettling looking up at black stains that you can't identify. Totally understand that some things might be on the back burner with covid precautions but I would think things would be cleaner and more restricted hours on public facilities as opposed to the other way around. read more

Probably one of the best Hampton Inn and Suites around. Don't know if it is my status at Hampton Inn, but my review will be total opposite of the previous. This Hampton is owned by Shelton Vineyards (See Restaurant Review too.) The room is a suite, which is a about 16x24. Full king bed, desk, couch, chairs, flat screen TV, with full channel access. Downstairs offers a great lobby with sitting area, business office, inside swimming, and a small work out center. From 5pm - 9pm Shelton has a wine room on site. You can go in sit, chat with the employees and enjoy the many wines Shelton Vineyards offers. If your hungry you can pull out of the driveway, go 2 1/2 miles to the Vineyards and Grill! Outstanding! The scenery is beautiful here and you cannot go wrong. Still bored, if you have kids or just nostalgic yourself, Take 601 right into Mount Airy, NC about 10 mi es north. Main Street will provide Snappy Lunch, Floyd's Barber Shop, you can see the aging Wally's service station, and even tour Andy Griffith's home and museum. Still bored, take a hike to Pilot Mountain aka Mt. Pilot from the Andy Griffith Show. Lost? Just ask for directions. I have never been to this area and encountered a nasty person. Hospitality is well defined in this neck of the woods! My wife stated after a day in this area "I could live here!" Hmmm, this old country hick just heard music to his ears. Let's see, quiet and calm of Mayberry or hustle and bustle of Atlanta? Sounds like a no brain-er to me. Well, then again as we age we need to think health care so I guess Atlanta will be home with some 3 and 4 day weekend trips! Best of both worlds. Extremely nice hotel compared to other chains. The gym, pool, wine bar, and breakfast area are a notch above normal hotels. Breakfast even was better than most hotels. I booked the weekend getaway package as this hotel is owned by the same people who own Shelton Vineyard. It's a great deal! My husband and I stayed one night. The lady at the front desk was pleasant until she asked what type of vehicle we were driving. When I said it was a Ford F-150 she said, "You're NOT TOWING anything ARE YOU!?" I guess if we had been pulling the boat we wouldn't have been allowed to stay. The room was overpriced for the quality of the furnishings, although the room appeared to be clean. Breakfast was fairly average but typical for the brand. We were traveling on our way to vacation and stopped at this Hampton for a night. The service was fantastic they got us right into a room. The room was very nice and the beds were extra comfy, it was very clean. There is an indoor pool, workout room, and business room that all appeared to be nice. Then, the next morning what a treat, continental breakfast. The breakfast was delicious, a wide selection of food. It is also was very sanitary. I would enjoy this breakfast every morning. I am a big fan of Hampton hotels and after this stay I appreciate them even more. If I am every traveling through the area I would stay here again. The only downfall was I had no cell phone service and I am with Verizon. I highly recommend this hotel! read more

Was very surprised when I was greeted and asked if I would like to have a compliementary upgrade to a suitre when we checked in. I had no idea that Hampton Inns had suites. The room was very large and we were very happy to have been given the upgrade, especially since we were on a week long road trip and small hotel rooms can get tiring by the end of the week. Was also equally pleased when we realized that there was a wine bar available on site. I would have given an Excellent rating; however, the hotel is in need of some upgrading as it's evident that its' about 20 years old. We noticed furniture that was threadbare, stained and worn out. The décor is also dated. Also, the breakfast bar was OK the first day, but on the 2nd day there was no boiled eggs (which is always a staple at Hampton inns) and the hostess wasn't very friendly. This hotel was slightly more expensive than I usually like, but well worth it. Around 100/night, which is high for the locale, but certainly not for bigger cities. It is one of the best Hampton Inns. The lobby is large, with comfy seating and combination fireplace/flatscreen TV. There is a wine-tasting room that opens at 5pm for Happy Hour and tastings of local wine. Breakfast is better than most, with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, oatmeal, etc. The rooms are spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable. WiFI of course. A couple of good restaurants nearby, along with Shelton Vineyards and other vineyards within a short drive. read more

10/18/2013 Chuck B. I have stayed at Hampton Inn and Suites dozens of times and the Dobson location specifically. However, this will be the last time. I made a reservation with a request that there be foam pillows and not feather pillows and no Fabreeze spray or scented sprays in the room due to severe allergies. After driving for hours my wife and I went to check in and front desk person said that she could see the request but was not made aware of it. Our room had the scented spray and feather pillows. Thanks but no thanks!!! So much for a respite from driving and a dinner reservation that we were disappointed to have to cancel. I will be staying elsewhere. read more

We had an excellent experience. The staff were warm and welcoming. The GM on duty seemed a bit frazzled but by the odor in the air he was dealing with quite the facilities crisis (sewer related); every company has unpreventable incidents and the front desk made up for his distracted presence, so we didn't hold that against them. The accommodations are what you expect at a branded hotel. Very clean, comfortable and predictable. The Shelton Vineyard supplied Wine Bar is a nice touch. The server was knowledgeable but not pushy. Pick a bottle, add it to your room charge and relax on the patio in the foothills of the mountains. Sweet wine drinkers will probably enjoy the Salem Fork Blush and dry wine drinkers might try the Two-Five-Nine, Tannat. (Their Cabernet Sauvignon is very light-bodied). The restaurant in the same parking lot, Putters, was also a great experience. read more

I stayed a night at the Kernersville Hampton Inn last week and was very pleased with my experience there. The hotel is in pristine condition and conveniently located close to an i-40 exit. The parking lot is larger than most Hampton Inns which was nice since I was driving a van with a trailer that requires several spaces. The location is also very safe and quiet. Check-in was quick and easy and we were on our way to our room in no time. The rooms were very clean and tidy. I love a comfy bed and I was not disappointed there. The pillows were also very luxurious and fluffy. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was on point and the dining area was very cozy. I was impressed with the wide variety of beverages on the bar. I would recommend this Hampton Inn to anyone looking for a top notch hotel for a reasonable rate read more

We love staying at Hampton Inn. And this was our second trip to this particular Hampton Inn. The lobby and front desk staff were great. We loved the full hot breakfast in the morning also. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the rooms need some updating. They were clean and comfortable but you could tell the age I this hotel in the rooms. Also when we walked into the hall it smelled of cigarette smoke. The water pressure could improve as well as the tv channel selections. Both are limited. The main thing though is that the hotel and rooms are very clean. We had a nice stay. read more

On our way from NY to FL we stopped here for the night on a Sunday. Overall a great experience, the lady at the desk was nice l loved the heated pool and hot tub, fitness center was VERY small but had what I needed, 3 cardio machines, tv, and weighted balls. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was one of the best I've been too with great service; that being said, a major con for me was the water pressure!! I was very disappointed :( Also, because we were there on a Sunday night nothing around was open after ten and there is no restaurant in the hotel. wine bar was a nice touch and they offered some snacks for sale in the lobby.
