We planned this trip as our first anniversary weekend to get away from the chaos of everyday life and it was every bit of what we needed. Unlike other B&Bs, Scott and Loren's home offers a secluded and private setting where you can enjoy the grounds without having to tiptoe around other guests or wait for a good spot on the porch to open up. It offers a level of comfort and seclusion not easily found elsewhere. Their property is amazing with gardens throughout and a quietness you cannot find at other B&Bs. They are incredibly welcoming to their home and go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. While we were secluded from civilization, the home itself offered all of the amenities you could ever need. We especially enjoyed exploring the books on the shelves, sitting on the porch, looking at the many species of trees and plant life, and perhaps best of all Scott's French Toast breakfast. I cannot stress enough just how wonderful our stay was and how accommodating they were to our last-minute changes. We are deeply appreciative for their hospitality and every little touch they put in to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back for future stays.

This isn't a super new Hampton Inn but everything in the room was clean, comfortable, and in working order. My grumble with this location (and so many others) is that the desk was right next to the a/c unit so I couldn't work without being turned into a popsicle. The location is good. Right on the main drag in Galax with a Sheetz across the street (not really walkable though. the "street" is 6 lanes. As others have mentioned breakfast is great and did seem to include an extra hot item. I do wish the staff was a bit more friendly. I passed the front desk multiple times and was never greeted. Additionally the breakfast attendant didn't provide any sort of greeting. It's a small thing but I have come to expect it.

The girl at the desk was as sweet as could be with a quick check in... Room was clean... shower was great with hot water and great shower pressure... Bed was comfy, clean crisp sheets... The breakfast in the morning was one of the best breakfast for a hotel (and I have been to quite a few in my time) and the lady who does the breakfast has everything super clean and stocked and well attended to... I gave this review 5 stars because it was a great experience BUT with that.... The ONE thing is that they really really need to get someone in to scrub the pool & hot tub.... We still went in it because we drove extra because of those amenities but it really needs a good scrubbing!! Otherwise it's a great place to spend the night!!!!

I would define it as "Sophisticated Simplicity". I was staying here for a personal getaway and was assigned to a beautiful room with a separate sitting room, a gorgeous bathroom, and a zen bedroom. The decor was lovely, stylish and tasteful. The staff was professional and helpful. It was quiet and relaxing and only a short walk away from the town center, perfect location! There is a pretty little creek that winds along the back garden area, I really enjoyed sitting out and watching the ducks. I am torn between keeping this little gem all to myself, and sharing its amazingness with the world! I can't wait to come back.

I called well in advance because my parents were moving and my dad was driving a large moving truck while towing a car carrier. I wanted to ensure there was enough room in the parking lot for him to park without having to back up. I also made sure they were pet friendly and that we could get a room close to an exit for my handicapped dog. I called the day before our stay to confirm the information. They assured me they had 2 big rig parking spots and our room would be close to an exit and the dog walking area. When we arrived the parking lot was immediately adjacent to a gas station with diesel pumps for big rigs. There were no pull through spots for parking large vehicles, and the lot was small compared to other hotels. The guy at the desk came out and tried to help guide my dad around the lot but he ended up having to back up, which is really difficult when you aren't used to driving a big truck and are exhausted after 10 hours of driving. He said most 18 wheelers just back into the spots, but I had told him when I called that it wasn't possible for him to do that. The whole thing turned into a mess and we finally had to park across multiple spots for the night. Then we get to the room and there's no carpet. It's all vinyl and my handicapped dog is sliding all over the place. Luckily we had brought some scatter rugs to help him. Vinyl may be easy to clean but it's not good for dogs trying to walk on. Also, their "dog walk" area is a 20 foot strip of grass about 3 feet wide between the hotel and the diesel pumps. Big trucks pulling in and out can easily scare dogs and cause them to bolt. It's really dangerous. I definitely don't recommend this place to anyone driving a big vehicle like a moving truck with a trailer, or a camper, or anyone with pets.

I called the front desk at 3:30 and was told I would need to find the exact room. I felt unsafe doing this. My husband called back at 4am and the clerk came to our room. The sounds could be heard in our room while he was standing in the hallway. He said he would call them. The music stopped but the sound of furniture being moved across the floor and dropping things loudly on the floor continued until we got dressed and left at 7am. The disruption threatened our safety and led us to change plans for our trip. Apparently there is not a policy for unruly guests. This was a very unpleasant experience for us and was not really addressed.
