Friendly staff. Clean room. Nice pool. Good location. Decent breakfast. Our strip started with the 6a flight into Boston. We stopped for lunch, and got into Freeport around 1. Why am I telling you all this check-in is at three and the nice ladies at the front desk were available to give us a room a few hours early so we could rest are weary heads from a long day of traveling The person working the night shift was chipper and always willing to help us out with meal recommendations, providing utensils or being there for us to purchase the snacks that were available. The nice lady who ran the breakfast brings her little dog in once a week so he can interact with people. my kids loved that little dog and he was probably one of their favorite parts of the trip other than the pool. If you really want to go to L.L. Bean and get a decent place to stay, I can't recommend this place enough . read more

Very decent hotel. Hampton Inns usually don't disappoint. What made sure this got 4 stars was the staff. EXTREMELY pleasant and excellent customer service. The receptionist greeted us and recommended a great restaurant next door. She also helped to get the internet working after a "firewall" trick occurred. The breakfast staff was accommodating as well! Otherwise very basic pros: many plug ports. A pool (only 3-5 feet but decent) decent breakfast and fitness room even had a Peleton bike. Cons: They needed a new shower head in my room. I personally don't care for the bathroom doors that feel Japan like. Breakfast was busy and they only had one waffle maker so I had to go back and forth a few times until I could make one. Just one night here as we continue to explore Maine's lighthouses. The hotel is closer to the interstate exit than it is to Freeport's bustling retail and dinng neighborhood, but they have a good amount of parking and the area was quiet. Clean and comfortable. It's what I have come to expect from the Hampton brand for the last while. Better than basic but not full service. The breakfast still has the same stuff and at the moment, it is not self serve. Ask for what you'd like and the ladies will assemble it for you. Eggs, bread, waffle machine, cereals, coffee, the usual options. I would choose this property again if I am in Southern Maine. So let me start off by saying that maybe I have been spoiled by other Hampton Inns that I have stayed at in the past. The front desk person was friendly enough. But I feel like this Hampton Inn is just ok. It definitely looks like it needs some painting or a huge scrub down or maybe that was just the room we got. It's very basic and if you are not hanging out for long periods of time in the room, it will get the job done. I was not happy about the grime layer on the bottom of the bathroom shower but I dealt with it. Also our remote did not work properly. Hopefully, that was only our room. Next time I'm in the area, I will be looking for somewhere else to stay. read more

This is my first time in Freeport and what a cute little town. I was there for a conference that was at another hotel but was booked up. They price was fair for where I am at meaning a popular place in Maine. LL Bean stores are a mile away. A hand full of placed to eat even across the street from the hotel a pizzeria ( we did not try) but was packed. The room was clean, nothing WOW, breakfast is basic but I only need coffee and it was good not watered down. Would recommend. Front staff friendly and helpful to all questions asked read more

I stayed here for two nights this past Wednesday into Friday. We arrived to this hotel at right before 1 PM hoping to checkin as I had a meeting to call into. Thankfully that wasn't a problem and within a couple of minutes we were headed up to my room. They clearly listened to my preferences in my profile too as it was on the top floor and nowhere near an elevator. The room here was actually a little weird in that the king sized bed fit into it but there wasn't the usual chair or couch with it. That's probably because the bathroom inside this room was simply cavernous and maybe took up half the room itself. This wasn't a problem for my wife and I but I thought it was worth mentioning. In any case the bed here was comfortable and I slept through both nights without hearing any noise whatsoever. The location of this hotel is nice too as it's right off I-295 and ~1 mile to the Freeport outlets and a 1/2 mile to the LLBean headquarters. Amenity wise, I was able to try the breakfast while my wife also utilized the gym area. We also saw a pool but neither one of us was around enough to use it. My wife did say that the gym area was nice and it had an elliptical, a bike, a treadmill and some weights. The breakfast area here was sort of small on the inside but also had outdoor seating for nicer days. It was filled with items unusual to Hampton Inns like 2 types of cook yourself waffles (blueberry and malted vanilla), egg white fritatas instead of western egg omelettes and fruit juices like banana strawberry and sweet greens. Then while they didn't have yogurt cups they did have a big vat of regular yogurt and well as a choice of two smoothies made with the yogurt and fruit juice. I personally liked the different items as they gave this Hampton Inn it's own little personality. That's not to say that they didn't have some regular items as they did have fruit, pastries, oatmeal and cereal. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. My bed was comfortable, the location was convenient and their breakfast area had a little personality. read more

A depressing hotel along the lines of the Barton Arms. The room had no character, the bed was lumpy, actually lumpy. I felt I had been dropped into the middle of the I LOVE LUCY episode 13 from Season 4. The price borders on the extortianate for a place that offers nothing. The breakfast is less than other hotel chains. The room was not as clean as it might have been. Since Covid, I always wipe down surfaces at hotels, and this is the first time I remember coming away with a dirty cloth. Never again. read more

This is a pretty decent Hampton Inn as Hampton Inn's go. The location is ok. You can walk to Hannaford (New England grocery chain owned by Delhaize the Dutch parent of Food Lion. Now ending the needless detail portion of the review) and you can walk to a few restaurants. The walk to the downtown area of Freeport and the outlet shopping is probably on the order of 3/4 of a mile. Friendly staff, clean and nicely appointed rooms. read more

This was seriously the grossest place ever, and it was so ridiculous for the price. The walls and elevator were filthy. The room was okay at first, then we found a tick in our bed. I went to pull back the curtains in the morning and two spiders fell out. Then we went to breakfast and it just continued to go downhill. When I opened THOSE curtains another bug fell out and started scurrying around the table. A worker came over and started squealing that she didn't want to kill it. She was very nice but then proceeded to show us bug bites all over her arms that made us uncomfortable. The breakfast tasted like it had been sitting out for a very long time. read more

This is a standard Hampton Inn. The location is perfect, close to downtown Freeport and the shops. The room was very clean, but the walls were unusually thin. We could hear the people in the next room debate politics. Luckily, the nightime was quiet, so I really can't complain. If I were to ever find myself in Freeport again, I would certainly stay here. read more

We have stayed here many times in the past. This hotel is over priced for what it is. We have stayed at other Hampton Inns in busier towns for a fraction of the cost. When you have to book a hotel for a sports team for a tournament I understand why they picked this hotel, but I had to call 3 times to confirm our room and somehow they still did not get the confirmation correct. Thank goodness I called before checking in as there was a wedding that same weekend. The most annoying thing about the room was the sliding doors that if you are not careful, if someone is going into the bathroom and you are in closet, you can easily get your fingers caught when door slides over. The other annoying thing, is if you happen to forget something in the room, do not expect to see it again. I left something hanging in bathroom and it was not turned into house keeping. I had a sweater drying on a hook, but apparently the cleaning staff did not turn it in. When I called to inquire if it was turned in, I was told by a male at the front desk " People usually take their things with them" Thanks Hampton Inn... but no thanks... Hampton Inn needs to do a better job training their staff and not being rude. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. No need to be rude. read more

I've stayed at other Hilton owned hotels in the past and was very disappointed. This place impressed me the room was beautiful and clean, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in ever. The only beaf I had was that when I checked in one of my key cards to my room was not activated and I had to go back to the desk and wait 30 minutes at the front desk due to a problem another guest was having after a hard day. read more

Great hotel that's about 20 miles away from Portland. It's also walking distance from the Freeport outlets. Relatively small hotel with i believe 3 to 4 floors only. Plenty of free parking outside even if you come home late. Freeport is a pretty quiet town...other then the outlets not too much over there. In terms of the room, we were in a standard king bed room. Good size for a standard room, very clean, with a large bathroom, and a sofa area to relax. Nice HD tv with plenty of channels. One of the things we didn't like about the rooms was the walls between the other rooms are too thin. We were awaken pretty early by the guy in the other room talking on his cell phone. Another thing was the bed was a little too soft for me...but I'm sure this really depends on the person... In addition to the nice rooms they have an office center for computer use, indoor swimming pool, gym open until 12am, and free breakfast. Also the front counter staff was very friendly. Overall, the price of the hotel is very affordable and the amenities are good. We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the portland/Freeport area. read more

I stayed here with my wife to visit family for the Xmas holiday and was impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel and the comfortable beds and friendly staff. We stayed two nights and the outlet shopping is literlly a stones throw from this hotel. The free brekafast was just okay having some sort of egg/cheese concoction on a biscuit that looked dried up and old. The rooms are an okay size and clean with newer amenities and there is an indoor pool and an exercise room. The price was pretty outrageous for an off season run of the mill chain hotel charging us well beyond what usual chain hotel would charge in the middle of Maine. I was a little shocked at how they got away with this. Nonetheless, the stay was pleasant and it was a quiet location in the heart of the town. I think next time, I would look elsewhere as the entire street and are is lined with various hotels competing for business. After checking prices in the surrounding area, I think I could have done a lot better for the same quality. read more

Clean and convenient. As 2 adults a toddler and an infant we were all able to make ourselves at home. The free breakfast was awesome and Gene greeted us with a smile each morning, remembering the children's names and keeping everything well stocked. We happened to be staying the night of a big snow storm and our car was cleaned off when we got ready to leave. We would definitely stay here again. read more
