Just one night here as we continue to explore Maine's lighthouses. The hotel is closer to the interstate exit than it is to Freeport's bustling retail and dinng neighborhood, but they have a good amount of parking and the area was quiet. Clean and comfortable. It's what I have come to expect from the Hampton brand for the last while. Better than basic but not full service. The breakfast still has the same stuff and at the moment, it is not self serve. Ask for what you'd like and the ladies will assemble it for you. Eggs, bread, waffle machine, cereals, coffee, the usual options. I would choose this property again if I am in Southern Maine. Bath tub. Not sure if they are using the best cleaner to get stuck on grime off.

So let me start off by saying that maybe I have been spoiled by other Hampton Inns that I have stayed at in the past. The front desk person was friendly enough. But I feel like this Hampton Inn is just ok. It definitely looks like it needs some painting or a huge scrub down or maybe that was just the room we got. It's very basic and if you are not hanging out for long periods of time in the room, it will get the job done. I was not happy about the grime layer on the bottom of the bathroom shower but I dealt with it. Also our remote did not work properly. Hopefully, that was only our room. Next time I'm in the area, I will be looking for somewhere else to stay.

Good, and if you come here when you enter the room you should see what the tv dose. And the beds are good

The place has apparently gone through a couple ownership changes since our last visit. The vibe is still good and we enjoyed our visit, but a little of the shine we used to enjoy has diminished. The Broad Arrow Tavern, long one of our favorite places to eat, is no longer there and a sign hangs on the door advertising meeting space available. The front desk staff were polite and efficient, but not particularly warm or welcoming. Afternoon tea is still served, but the offerings aren't as robust as they once were. You have to request in advance fresh towels and room cleaning, which isn't a big deal if you know that (returning after a day out to a messy room with damp morning towels still on the floor is a disappointment). Still, we had a good visit and enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in townhouse 5. We were told the townhouse could sleep up to 8 people. That is not…read moreaccurate. This unit has 1 full bed, I do not think it is even a queen, and 2 single beds. So that is four. That leaves a pull out sofa in the main room. AND there is only ONE BATHROOM. The main bedroom bed did not have a frame. In fact, none of the beds had bed frames and there is no art on any of the walls, so the pictures on the website are not accurate. The closet door was completely missing in one bedroom. There was a nasty red stain on the carpet in the big bedroom. There was a broken tie rack in one closet. The kitchen looks like it was last renovated in the late 1980s. The rear entrance does not lock securely, the back door has a note on it on how to lift the handle to get the bolt to lock. The kitchen had a table with only two chairs. So you and your guests will not be eating together. There were three other mismatched chairs scattered around the unit, and none of those were the right height for the kitchen table. In the living room there was a dehumidifier grinding along. There seems to be a drainage issue with the whole complex. The front window by the front door was missing a curtain. Another curtain wasn't hung properly. Neither television worked properly, as the internet connection kept glitching. There was a scarred desk in the living room. The showerhead in the one bathroom needs to be replaced. I did not find this townhouse adequate for adults. I give three stars because of the building and grounds, very pretty, and within walking distance to downtown.

WEBSITE & BOOKING A ROOM: - Mapped out website to understand more about the inn & policies. - Easy to navigate, view room availability & select desired room. - Wonderful photos of each room with sq. ftg. noted. - Lots of information of what's around / things to do in the area. INNKEEPERS: - The level of communication is great. I had sent an email with additional questions & was answered timely. They also use a method of texting as well as leave their phone #'s. - We paid for a 12pm check-in & Dave greeted us. He gave a tour & a mini history lesson about the building, which was so interesting! - Kelleigh waited on us for breakfast & was delightful. She'd engage in quick conversation & swiftly served us each course. THE ROOM (#4 - PERMQUID POINT LIGHTHOUSE): - Super clean, cozy & romantic. - The queen bed was comfortable with many layers of sheets, a down comforter & quilt-like blanket on top. - The (2) chairs by the window served as a nice area for me & my husband to enjoy a beer from the "Big Brewstah" keg & chat. - There are robes with slippers which make the stay all the more comfortable. - The thermostat is programmed, but it's allowed to change the temperature. - There isn't a mini fridge in the room (not sure if there are in the other rooms). 3-COURSE BREAKFAST: - Served ONLY between 8am to 9am (as long as you arrive in that hour). They do ask if there are any dietary restrictions prior. - As previously mentioned, Kelleigh was our server & hostess. - The hot coffee is French pressed & packed with flavor. - Dave has some serious cooking skills & we appreciated the use of locally sourced, fresh ingredients. - It was a very filling & delicious menu that Dave creates uniquely for each morning. ADDITIONAL NOTES & TIPS: - The parking is a bit tight; there are (3) spots at the front of the inn or the overflow is at the end of the driveway. - Each room has a key & a deadbolt (which can only be locked from the inside). - Downstairs area, neighboring the dining room, there is a living room area with shelves of books & a few games. - The busy season for the Brewster House B&B is around the 4th of July.
