Cob webs, grease, and dust on the desk lamp
Sylvie C.

Save yourself the trouble and don't book a stay here. Paul checked us in at 3pm and our first assigned room had ants crawling all over the desk and blood stains inside the sheets and comforter. I went to the lobby and had the room reassigned. Zeus warned me ahead of time that it will be noisy because lots of children were staying on the 4th floor. He wasn't kidding. I had zero sleep that evening from constant running in the hallway and doors slamming. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from the room next to you --bathroom door opening and closing, TV noise, conversations, microwave. You name it, you'll hear it. The second assigned room was marginally cleaner but not by much. It was the difference between no ants on the table and no blood stains inside the bed. The sofa had crusty white runny stains. YUCK. Don't want to think about what caused it. The dresser drawers had crumbs and putrid odors. Definitely best not to put your clothes or anything in it. Well, not unless you like sour vomit stink imparted onto your clothes so you too can smell like vomit all day in humid August heat! The bathroom countertop had brown ring stains and the shelves were disgusting underneath. And crumbs just about everywhere--desk, night stands, coffee table, carpet. The HVAC unit needs some thorough cleaning. It was somewhat of a miracle I didn't have an asthma attack. When I walked outside to get some of my luggage, I witnessed an older housekeeping staff throwing a nasty tantrum in the hallway smashing trash into the trash can placed on the cleaning cart. Her colleague walked by and didn't even ask her if she's ok or need help. Instead, she walked outside to join her friends smoking cigarettes in their housekeeping uniforms. It's utterly unprofessional to not only be smoking with their uniforms on but to speak ill about customers and work environment within earshots of other customers and children playing right nearby. Given how frustrated the other housekeeper was inside and two other housekeepers too busy smoking outside to gossip, I could understand why the rooms and corridors looked so dingy and just disgusting. Anyhow, as if the lack of cleanliness alone was bad enough, around 9pm, I had a complete stranger unlock the door and come inside! My dogs were hysterical and I was hysterical because I was about to fall asleep. Apparently, the front desk staff, Paul failed to update in the system that we had a room reassignment due to ants infestation in the originally assigned room. He not only feigned ignorance of the fact that there was a room reassignment at 3pm because of ants infestation but blamed Zeus for making a mistake of giving the incorrect room keys to us. Paul also proceeded to attempt MOVING US BACK INTO THE ANTS INFESTED ROOM. That's right! Paul attempted to get us back into the room with ants so the other customer can take our reassigned room. So my husband asked to get COMPED after this whole fiasco and Paul completely refused. He said that we'd have to wait to speak to the manager on Monday when she's back in office. Yeah sure ok. Don't think so. We checked out asap the next morning and never looked back. This Hampton Inn is a disgrace. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND unless there's no other lodging options available whatsoever. As my husband put it, he'd rather be deployed and sleep on a ship or sleep in the car overnight. And to me, that speaks volumes.

Just speechless. Very thankful and grateful for everything anyone has done to assist Chanel Camellia Campaigns since 2010. I wish i still had my Genesis right on my chest where she slept before my first son was born. I sacrificed my therapy animal for two young boys. Mama is still pressing forward so she can see the vision quest complete.

The parking lot has ample spaces. The pool area (though closed fir the season) and grounds around it were well maintained. Check in was reasonably quick and problem free. A helpful friendly staff member. They had quite a few hand sanitizer units throughout the hotel. We had a very impressive room. Nicely decorated, modern/updated, very comfortable beds, beautiful bedspread and clean in all areas. We couldn't figure out how to work the heating unit however, but calling the front desk (who answered immediately and was very polite) we found out the control box was on the wall and not on the unit itself (they should have a sign on the unit explaining that). The bathroom was updated but slightly worn in minimal areas (mirror frame from water). Shower had good water pressure and water adjusted well to be not too hot or cold (like the issues I have at home). There was lots of counter space as well as wall hooks to hang towels and clothing items. The air vent in there worked well too to keep it odor free. The lobby was very appealing and clean too. Their included breakfast buffet was impressive with various juices, waffles, eggs, sausage, yogarts, cereals, fruit, coffees, etc.

Our three night stay started off on a high note when we arrived early evening last Sunday and were greeted by the professional, friendly. efficient and (dare I say it?) adorable George at the front desk. The highest compliment we can pay an employee is they work like they own the business and so it was / is with George. They should give him a raise! The day time staff have been equally friendly and efficent. Two small problems with the room were taken care of immediately and without any inconvenience to us thanks to them. Staff highlights shared above, as for the property it is a few years old but aging gracefully thanks to what seems to be care paid to maintenance. Very clean and in good repair from the small lobby through guest rooms to guest facilities, like the laundry room. Beds and pillows are ultra comfy. Bathrooms well appointed. Everything is quiet for a good nighr's sleep. Also accessibility is good in general at this property if you're paying attention to that important element. True to the Hampton branding, there is a free breakfast each morniing including fruit, yogurt, cereal, hot food like scrambled eggs, toast, muffins and juice. Conveniently located with easy access to routes 31 and 78 and close to charming downtown Clinton with a few shops and restaurants. Bottom line is we'd gladly stay here again.

I stay here every time I visit my family in NJ. I love it here for so many reasons. The room are large and always clean. The staff is very friendly and the location is within walking distance of cracker barrel if you want some breakfast, lunch, or dinner near by. Its also very close to Walmart if you want to grab some waters or essential you may have forgotten to pack. The hotel also has some beautiful views of the surrounding area. There is a pool you can enjoy in the summer and a small garden area where you can enjoy the outdoors. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast that is pretty good. You can have anything from eggs and bacon to waffles. They also offer yogurts and cereal varieties. Coffee and tea is served all day. Overall I really enjoy this hotel it has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Bathroom newly redone and very clean.

Felicia is the worst. Incredibly rude. No reason to stay at a Hampton Inn and be disrespected. Try any other hotel chain

I actually forgot my own shampoo/conditioner and soap, but I wouldn't hesitate to use these again. In fact, since I may be traveling back to this hotel, I wouldn't even bother bringing my own. Might as well save some space in the luggage. It was great to have a little Starbucks in the lobby, it's not what you'd expect from a normal Starbucks, but it was the same coffee and they had a mini of the same food products. I enjoyed the avocado toast and a colleague of mine ordered the breakfast burrito. We both enjoyed them. And the staff that managed this area was extremely friendly. In the evenings, I didn't notice if they served food, but we did stop and share a pint before calling it for the night. Many other travelers used it to hang out and catch up, we even saw some people bring their own board games. The only issue I had during the entire stay was apparently I had the only room with a tree branch that proceeded to scrape against the window and cause a horrible sound inside. It would've been nice if somebody would've come to check it out rather than giving me the only option of packing up my belongings and moving them to a new room, I was too tired and not interested in doing that, so I ended up sucking it up. Hopefully they resolve this for the next person, but it looks to me like this overgrowth has been there for a little while. I would recommend The hotel as it's in a great location for this area and it was a comfortable stay...

The planners, Erin and Starr, were so professional and concerned about the needs of us which was so great that we got in touch with the best vendors that literally went out of their way. The caterer Jeffrey Miller Hospitality impressed us and our guests by their splendid professionalism and outstanding cuisine. With prompt service to paying little to no attention to special dietary needs, their staff made sure that you got the best, and the best was served with charm (and no doubt, with a tip or two). Our guests can rave all over the wonderful food and perfect appearance! The florist, Perkasie Florist shocked with the amazing sets that suited the theme precisely. In addition to their luxurious flower arrangements, their crew was extremely accommodating, and came to work very early to fix and set up and was very able to compromise and make changes to their arrangements last minute and kept everything stress free. Asya Photography our photographer was easygoing, polite, and discrete all though out the day and she took breathtaking photographs based upon which our actual story is manifested. They made group photos run easily and they managed to make people natural and happy and it actually comes out of the photos (natural looking and happy faces). Inn Keeper Marina was absolute treasure, she was endlessly considerate and brilliantly welcoming, and as a result, the weekend was a great experience with no one feeling unloved or unwelcome. In general, professionism, reliability and true care of all vendors recommended and organized by Erin and Starr make it a smooth and blissful experience with our friends and family. We could not ask anything better organizing our special day: the team and the venue were too good!

DO NOT STAY HERE…read more This hotel used to be the Holiday Inn, Clinton. It was a decent hotel, nothing off the top fancy but clean and accommodating. The hotel is now called Liyo and is a disaster, please look at the recent photos before booking at this hotel. We booked on BringFido.com and the images that are advertised on their site as well as the images on the Liyo site are seriously out of date. Let's start with windows boarded up, caution tape throughout the parking lot and inside the hotel. Water damage to the carpets, both in the hallways and in the rooms. Incomplete construction, cargo containers in the parking lot, scrap metal from the hotel stacked up in a pile outside. A broken elevator. Mold in every bathroom, (we looked at three rooms). The last room we looked at was over the pool and reeked of chlorine and chlorine gas, to the point that we had sore throats. This place needs to be condemned and is unfit for occupancy.

This is now called the Liyo Inn (which may be included in with the Holiday Inn family or some other…read moregiant hotel chain corporation). But here is the low down. There was lots of free parking, but nothing right near the door as the parking lot is off to the side. The upper parking lot looked scary as it had a few abandon tailor containers. The out side dining area in the front looked appealing (though being winter, the area was not open to use). The entry way was clean , modern and welcoming (a large modern beautiful chandelier was hanging from above). Check in was easy and staff generally nice. The rugs in some hall ways were newer but buckled up in area, and rippled. Some roof areas we looked down upon had fake grass carpeting but it was all torn up in chunks and looked hideous (they need to get up there and just pull it all off!). The room was nice, comfortable, clean, and easy to regulate the heat. The interior was updated too. The view was nice too of trees and a hill of homes in the distance. The bed was very plush and made for a good nights sleep. It was very quiet all night as well. The bath room was clean and had updated features too. However, the little shelves in the shower just ruined the whole make over of that area. They were installed or re-installed with some yellow glue that was not cleaned up properly and looked like a mess on the shower walls. At first I thought it was a ton of mold (but thank gosh it wasn't! See photo). The pool on the 2nd floor was enjoyable. It was a salt water pool and the temperature was perfect. They had plenty of clean towels to use at the pool site too, but they were rather small. The area around it was general set up well (looked like a good party area) and for the most part clean. However, there were areas that were chipping, pealing, and in need of some repairs. The live plants around the area looked like they had never been watered and were bunched away in a corner. In addition, some super large dirt filled planters were just filled with dirt and no plants (they could at least place some fake ones in them and not have to worry about watering!!). There were other activities to do in the pool area too (pool tables, a digital juke box and an electronic game). However, the game was turned off, juke box wouldn't play (even though it was on), and the pool table was missing some balls. The worst part was that the lights above the pool tables hadn't been cleaned in a very long time (see photo), gross! The bar on the first floor was nice, not too noisy and a friendly employee working there. In the morning we had a difficult time at the breakfast area attempting to get spoons to eat with. Had to go to the front desk finally to ask for some. The free breakfast was minimal but fine (cold cereal, stale English Muffins, yogarts, apples, OJ). Check out was easy too. However, later on when I read the receipt, it was a different price than what I reserved the room for on line. Cheaper, but still not what I booked it for. But after I checked my charge card statement I saw that they did charge me the higher rate! Just waiting to see if they ALSO charged me a second time on this months charge card bill. We shall see.

I booked a room on Priceline. I had the Hampton confirmation number, the Priceline confirmation…read morenumber, and proof of charge to my credit card. When I checked in Saturday night after a very long travel day at 12 midnight, the night front desk attendant could see my reservation in the system but he said it wasn't confirmed and my card was declined. I showed him proof of the confirmation numbers and the credit card's successful charge, and he still would not honor my reservation. He asked for the card I used to make the reservation and then said he needed it for incidentals. I gave it to him and he swiped it, then he gave me a room key. The next morning after I checkout out, I got a text message from my credit card company asking me if I authorized a second charge for Hampton Inn. He used the card swipe to charge me a second time for the room rate. I called Priceline and after 25 minutes, they said they contacted Hampton and they would look into it. Then Priceline asked me to email them all the documentation, and I instead just disputed the charge with my cc company. I did not authorize this night front desk attendant to charge me for a room I already paid for; I only gave him my card for incidentals (of which there were none), and he unscrupulously charged my card. He should have just taken my information and had a manager speak to me in the morning, since I provided 3 types of proof of purchase/confirmation that the room was indeed booked and paid for. Room was fine, bed was comfortable, bathroom was recently remodeled and clean/modern. Cleaning crew was also quite loud starting at 7am, so it did disturb my sleep (despite the do not disturb sign on the doorknob) when I really needed it. The hotel rate was over $200 for the middle of NJ on a Saturday night in August so it wasn't a great value to begin with. Just didn't have a good transactional experience with my reservation at the front desk, and I should never have been charged a second time and certainly not without my consent or authorization. Thus I can't give more than a single star.

I've had their breakfast. It's OK. The last two stays had a couple of issues, the heating wasn't working the greatest the first night. Kind of hit or miss. My 2nd stay, however, I got to the room and it had clearly only been partially cleaned. The bed was clean. The shower/toiler was clean. However, there was leftover food in the mini fridge, there was a used coffee cup, partially full, on the desk and another on the bathroom counter. In the bathroom, although it had generally been cleaned, there were also two dirty washcloths in the sink. I had gotten in late and honestly did not feel like dealing with anything so threw away the things that needed thrown away and called it a night. It's convenient and it is what it is. The beds are incredibly comfortable, it's not noisy, and it's very convenient if you need to be in the Flemington area. It's also not necessarily the cleanest or best maintained hotel.
