Place seems to be in renovation mode -- Renovations were going on, so it looked messy. Nothing available to use( pool, work out room, business center). Staff is really great and very professional -- great check in process... quick and efficient. Room was clean but had an overpowering perfume / air freshener scent when I walked in. Only major problem was its located close to the train tracks...train is very loud and goes by all hours. read more

Alright my 2nd hotel on this work trip with no Curtain to block the streets lights and morning sun! WTF. Room was fair, tvs did not fully work. Location is decent by highway. Sorry but I would avoid this hotel until renovations are done. It's a complete mess with nothing available to use( pool, work out room, business center) and even the TV channels mostly do not come in clearly. Friendly staff but I will not stay here until things are done. Suggestion: please indicate "under construction/renovations) on your website while booking so as not to disappoint your guests :( read more

I'm usually loyal to the Hilton brand and I really enjoy staying at Hampton Hotels locations, but this experience was mediocre. They did warn me that the TV signals in all rooms were down. So in other words I couldn't watch TV. Renovations were going on, so it looked messy. Pool was extremely cold. No hot tub (thought it said so on the website?). Parking lot was not big. But anyway, it was alright for what it was. read more

Great check in process... quick and efficient. Room was clean but had an overpowering perfume / air freshener scent when I walked in. But room is really clean. Pillows are ok, I like fatty/fluffy pillows better... a little too flat for me. Towels and shower ok... I like a lot of water pressure.. this was just ok. Everything else is great read more

Under renovations. Rooms were clean but lots of flies and fruit flies. Staff was friendly. Outside the hotel was not the safest area. Several issues reported at Casey's gas station right outside the hotel. I would definitely stay in Cedar Rapids North before I stay here again. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel and Hampton Inn. This place has been allowed to run down. The name Hampton Inn stands for something and should be a guarantee that you are staying at the best, but not here. The cable did not work and therefore no good tv and could not even stream from my iPad. The refrigerator does not work. The floor of the cabinet area where the frig was, had holes in it. The tables from the breakfast were still dirty snd not cleaned up from earlier in the morning. I felt sorry for the young lady working the desk. She did what she could. Who ever oversees this place, should be fired. In the morning, the front doors were security locked, but the room card should work. That system was broke down, The only way in was to call "0" to get the front desk. That was frustrating when loading the car. I noticed, the rating for this place was 3 stars, but I disregarded the rating because it was a Hampton Inn. Will not make that mistake again, Should have stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites across the street. Please heed this recommendation. read more

My husband and I have been staying here for a while now and have to say this is the nicest place we have stayed at.the prices are great the staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean. They are very pet friendly. I would recommend this place to any one who wants a nice hommie hotel. read more

Reasonably priced rooms. Good service. Bathrooms outdated. Personally we were told no smoking allowed and that our $50 deposit would be held if traces of smoking was present. Upon arrival of our room we Instantly smelled cigarettes and later found burn holes in the blanket on the bed. Immediately called to let management know so a misunderstanding was not taken place the next morning when checking out, they were completely understanding and again, offered good customer service. read more

The Hampton Inn is located on the south side. They are located next to a few restaurants that are within walking distance. The grounds were maintained and the lobby was clean. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. The room was clean. The bed wasn't the worst and definitely wasn't the best, but just in the middle. The pillows didn't provide much support and were pretty flat. The bathroom is kind of small. The counter was very small. They only provide two towels. The water pressure was decent, but the curtain is short so water gets on the floor. The sink didn't drain well. The Hampton needs to get with the times and add a fridge to the rooms. This is an inconvenience. You can request a room with a fridge, but they don't have many. I also had a light that had a burned out bulb. I let the front desk know and brought the bulb down. They said maintenance would take care of it but when I came back later there wasn't a bulb. I went to the front desk and after telling me that there is a light switch you need to turn on. I assured him that I knew about the switch and that didn't matter because without a bulb it wasn't going to work. He found a bulb and gave it to me to install. The Hampton WiFi is difficult to use, you need to be a member and need your user ID and password. Would be nice to just have hassle free WiFi. read more

Stay somewhere else. Management unresponsive and unhelpful. Refrigerator broken, no one cared. Tried to cut stay short (like I've done frequently at other hotels) but management unwilling. We're short with me saying I had the option of checkout immediately (I needed one last night) or had to pay for entire stay. Everyone else I travelled with that stayed at other hotels reported much better breakfast and no issues changing their reservation. Do yourself a favor and pick one of the many other hotels in the surrounding area. read more

I've stayed in the Hampton Inn twice in the last two months. This location is on the south side of Cedar Rapids maybe a 10-15 min drive from the airport. This is a decent location with a couple of gas stations, and a variety of restaurants in the area. There's even a peeler bar across the road for those of you with questionable morals. I booked my room online and selected my room ahead of time. Each time I chose a first floor room near the end of the hallway. This made my access to the gym, and breakfast area very quick. Both times I arrived after midnight. Which raises the first good point. They lock their doors at 11:00am. You need to buzz the night operator to come and let you in. I'm glad to see the extra security measure especially since I'm on the first floor. The rooms. Each of my rooms featured two QUEENS. A recent reviewers had commented that the hotel had doubles only. They don't you just have to double-check what you're booking. The wifi in this location is pretty good. I also like how I can just login with my hhonors login rather than bother with some password and user name on a piece of paper. The gym is well maintained. There are two treadmills, one ellipitical and one stationary bike, along with a full set of dumbbells, medicine balls, and a swiss ball. There can be a wait for the elliptical. I make use of the gym every day when I travel and its always been good to me. At the most one other person was there. Breakfast - well I have dietary restrictions, so oatmeal, low sugar yogurt and tea were all on my "to eat" list. The dining area is small and clean. Staying on the first floor gave me the option of hauling my food back to my room easily, which I often did. Of course they still have their standard waffle machine! read more

Clean but modest and small rooms, bed, and bathroom. All 2-bed options are a double bed size! No double queen bedrooms available. Wish that had been disclosed before checking in, parking, and schlepping luggage to 3rd floor. $80 is a decent rate for 2 seniors, adult, and toddler with AAA discount, but a double bed size is barely enough room for 2 adults to sleep in. Indoor pool, nice exercise room, free breakfast starting at 7am (I'll be checking out before then to catch a plane) but they offer a complimentary to-go bag with water, apple, granola bar. That's a nice touch. Because it's the Hampton just had a different expectation. read more

RUDE! A lot of working class businesses use this hotel but have had 2 nights of BS. When I called front desk, I was treated like an asshole because I have to be up early. Threatened to kick me out instead of telling other guests to respect other guests. Can't wait to talk to manager about the disrespect of their employees. read more

We did a staycation for New Year's Eve so much sons could swim. The pool was large. And I love that they don't have tile around the pool. The hotel has been renovated recently & I loved what the new rooms look like. Breakfast was good. Large selection of items. I really liked the chicken apple maple sausage. They had make your own waffles with the usual vanilla & a surprise of chocolate. They had pressed juice & smoothies. Over all a great time & we will staycation here again. read more

I do not recommend this hotel. The bed is like a slab of granite, and the toilet is so low that a toddler would be comfortable. We checked in, took the financial loss, and went across the street to the Fairfield Inn. The Fairfield Inn and Suites is highly recommended. read more

As far as your cookie cutter business pit stops go, been the most impressed with this specific one. The fitness and business centers are simple but very useful. The staff goes the extra mile to be helpful and friendly. Breakfast isn't 5 star but presentation is prestige and includes hot protein options. When I had the "Do Not Desturb" sign up they still brought fresh towels and ammendities in a basket outside my room. Coffee wasn't bad and the place was impeccably clean. Very happy with my stay. read more

This is my 6th night in a row in a Hilton property and I will be staying for 3 more - across 5 different states. This hotel is remarkably average. King room was adequate. Bed was average. Tv did not have HD service but was adequate. Water pressure was average in 3rd floor. I had an adjoining room and my request to not have one was declined. My 2 stars come from the obvious lack of "giving a crap" the staff has. For instance, I checked in and I have status -- but I had to ask for my water and snack. No big deal. Got my room and my keys didn't work. I went all the way back down to get new keys the woman at the desk said "oh. Here. " no apology. And breakfast -- which the food was a 1/5 honestly it was questionable -- hard boiled eggs but not peeled? It's awesome being in a work suit trying to crack eggs (that are old enough to make it difficult). Coffee was watery as all hell but fresh. Nothing "bad" but definitely not the level of the hamptons I've stayed in this week. I would not stay here again when there's other Hilton properties in town. But I didn't run away screaming. You decide. read more

Clean hotel. Had cookies, water, and fruit out around the clock. Those sugar cookies are delicious!! Room service provided fresh cover, sheets, towels, soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner daily. Noise level was a bit high. I was on the first floor but I heard people walking round above me. Breakfast was ok. One day they had waffles, omelet, French toast, biscuits, country gravy, cereal, juices, fresh fruit. The other morning they had pancakes, waffles, eggs, the same fruit and cereal BUT the ham they had out was pink and was sitting in water, I'm assuming to keep warm and not drying out. Hmmmmm. Yes, I still ate it cuz I'm greedy and no, luckily I didn't get sick. Lol. read more

I'm an average guy looking for an average stay with a dip in a hot tub; frankly idk why you wouldn't go to hotel if not for the spa. However, this hotel was less than average. I went out of my way to get a hotel almost exclusively for the spa only to arrive, find it closed, and be unable to obtain any sort of explanation. Nothing on the website, nothing on the sign, just purely ambiguous, day ruining closure. But I guess the bed was more comfortable than a torture rack, so they have that going for them. read more

Very crooked. The hotel staff was inept and untrustworthy. The whole is lengthy. I did book through expedia. Upon arrival at the hotel, we said we were not staying the next night. It was a one night stay. The next day we left the hotel and didn't further say to the desk we are leaving as we had said that at check in. I actaully then called the hotel later that day to make sure there was no room reservation in my room for the night. The staff assured me there wasn't. Still, I was charged for two extra nights. I called the hotel to say that I had even called to ask if any room was in my name for the night. They content that the staff just looked for a new booking likely. But still no refund. Crooked. Don't go here. read more

Do NOT reserve rooms here. They will cancel your reservation and rebook you in a lesser hotel for the same price in a different city. We made group reservations over a month in advance and they cancelled our reservation within a week of the supposed stay via email. I called the hotel to ask why our reservations were cancelled and the woman I spoke to could not see anything. I sent an email asking for an explanation and they said the were overbooked. read more

Great hotel! The staff there is the nicest that I've ever encountered and that's saying a lot because I stay in hotels every single week. They genuinely care about their guests and it shows. Everyone says hello to you, they make sure that you have everything you need, and they take pride in the cleanliness of the hotel. Whenever I'm back in the Cedar Rapids area I will make sure that I only stay here! read more

Was in Iowa for a wedding last summer. The hotel was remarkably average - it was a place to sleep, I could get a decent shower in when needed, there was a television to watch, and free WiFi available for surfing the web. Okay. Basic needs met. Free breakfast, beyond the muffins and pastries variety, was a nice touch. Something I look for when choosing a place, but I can do without it. That would normally get three stars by default. The reason I'm taking it all the way down to one star is because of something I overheard at the front desk on my check out day. As I said above, this was for a friends wedding. After the reception outside of town, some of us returned and decided to have an after-party out in the back patio area. We could have had this span our respective hotel rooms - I'd say we had a good 15 rooms scattered about the building. Apparently we were too loud for the night manager's liking, and our crowd, of maybe 15 people, was dispersed - I even think they threatened to call the police (I don't remember). On check out day (two days after above), I went to get breakfast, as I was entitled. When I sat down to eat, I overheard the person at the front desk - who happened to be the night manager from above - essentially insulting us in an attempt to apologize to who I figured to be the primary complaining guest. I understand their tactic. But, they should have been cognizant of the fact that we were essentially that hotel's entire business for that weekend? I knew this as my group of friends and I booked an extra night thinking people would stay through Monday - when everyone checked out on Sunday AM, the hotel went from half-full to essentially us and maybe two other rooms of guests. I guess it's all a moot point - my friends, whose wedding I went to, have a beautiful home in another part of town, where I will definitely pick to stay over some hotel (with their permission of course!) read more

Average Hampton Inn. Nothing special, but it seems like the best hotel option around. The lobby is a little worn, but the rooms seem newly renovated. Indoor pool. Free breakfast. Fast food and Chinese buffets nearby. Free wifi. read more

Excellent for the price! Good breakfast, but still that crappy 'fake eggs' omelette stuff. It's really time for Hampton to step up and have decent breakfasts. Hard boiled eggs were perfect....NOT PEELED, which is good. (when hard boiled are peeled and sit for awhile, they get rubbery...do NOT like that!). Plenty of other food (cereal, fresh fruit), so overall breakfast was good, just not the 'fake eggs'. Bed was perfect, thank you. Good value for the price. We'll be back. read more

This is a pleasant place to stay. The room has been thoughtfully laid out with plenty of conveniently placed outlets. Nice touch to have a lap desk to use while reclining in bed. Very comfortable work station is also in the room. What set this apart from all other hotels was a note that stated the linens including duvet were all freshly laundered. And the sheets were silky soft. Breakfast was ok. Coffee was very good and always available. Decor was originally modern and homey. Breakfast seating was divided with a large granite topped bar with lots of seating in front of a television and another quieter room with an eclectic mix of upholstered chairs with tables. In general this hotel was above average in cleanliness. read more

Arrogant desk clerk who had no idea about his own hotel's cancellation policy. Had to go through Hilton corporate to resolve an issue that other property managers said would have been quickly handled at their own location. Homeless people wandering through parking lot and very sketchy location. Hotel reported to corporate that we were no shows when in fact we arrived at the hotel at noon and found the premises unacceptable and informed the front desk of such. Fortunately we had phoned Hilton immediately from the hotel and made a record of our dissatisfaction therefore catching them in their lie. As a Hilton Honors member I have stayed at numerous locations across the country and this place was the worst in my opinion in terms of customer service and location. read more

Love Hampton Inns. They are reasonably priced, the breakfast is always good and you can cobble together and really healthy breakfast there. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are super comfy. This one was no different but everything seemed a bit older than the others so didn't feel QUITE as clean. The high school's parent volunteer messed up and didn't book a bus to take the kids to a tournament in Cedar Rapids, resulting in my husband driving a van full of kids to Cedar Rapids instead. As a result I booked him a room to stay over that night. However, the same volunteer also gave the wrong information about *which* Hampton Inn in Cedar Rapids the kids were booked at. As soon as I learned this I called to see if they could switch his reservation to the correct Hampton Inn. No dice - Hampton Inn refused to allow us to switch the reservation to their other location in the same city. Seems crazy inflexible and we were in a difficult situation on short notice. The debate team is run by volunteers and a nonprofit organization. I had to pay twice out of pocket for two hotel rooms, only one of which was used. All this took place while I myself was staying at and paying for another room in a different Hampton Inn in another state. So much for rewarding your best customers! Never again! read more
