After driving nearly 500 miles, we decided to stop in Bristol for the night. I hadn't made reservations - we wanted to see how far we got. It was almost 8 pm when I started looking for hotels. Everything was booked or was Motel 6 quality. We don't usually stay in Hampton Inns anymore - the chain in general has really gone downhill. Last night we really had little choice. We were greeted immediately at the front desk and had our keys a few minutes later. Upon entering our room, like is my habit, I checked the bath room to make sure it was clean. It was spotless. The room, however, had a few issues. The carpet just seemed a little "icky" - no real reason but I wasn't comfortable walking barefoot. Issue two. Our television didn't work. Finally, there was a lot of road noise. It was mostly drowned out by the rattle of the air conditioner. You might want to consider ear plugs. Breakfast is 6-10, everyday. I went down at 5:30 just to have my coffee. Breakfast was already out, the eggs and sausage steaming, the waffle maker hot and ready to go. The hotel was full yet the breakfast bar was kept full. Our room was by the elevator - avoid this room. The noise from the hall was quite distracting. When we finally settled in, it was too late to go swimming but the pool area did look nice. There are extremely overpriced snacks available for purchase in the lobby. If you have kids, keep an eye on them - a few of the $4 mini bags of Cheetos and some $3 snickers bars might just put you over your food budget for the day. There are lots of choices in Bristol. Hampton Inn may not be your best choice but it works if all you need is a place to crash while driving through. read more

A good place to stay right off the interstate exit near Bristol Hampton Inn kicked off in late 1983 when some Holiday Inn folks in Memphis, Tennessee, thought, "Hey, people want nicer rooms and free breakfast without paying luxury prices". They opened the very first one on Sycamore View Road in March 1984. They were one of the first, if not THE first America national mid-priced hotel chain. The brand grew in popularity and ended up getting bought out by Hilton in '99. Now there are nearly 3,000 of them worldwide. This one was like the other ones I have stayed at, for look, convenience, access, price, quality. It was convenient being right off the interstate and very close to several nearby restaurants. Check-in was easy and the staff was pleasant. The lobby and room were clean. The room was a single bed with 2 bedside tables and a comfortable mattress. There was a small lounge area with a sitting chair by the window. The bathroom was brighter colors, with good pressure and a glass shower. They have a small but nice breakfast area and offer takeout bags for their guests to pickup and go. Overall, this is a good choice to stay in the Bristol area. read more

Just off I-81, so convenient but with some traffic noise. A few problems with the quality of service. There was no option to choose a room from the app check-in. (I called the front desk, and we worked this out.) Front desk was usually empty of staff during our stay. In our room, there was no Kleenex (toilet paper instead!) and no do-not-disturb tag for the door. read more

Almost $200 for a room. Expected a nice place to stay. Bed was hard. Pillows are slippery. My head kept falling off it and cricking my neck. Very weird. Bed sheet torn on the queen I slept in. The other bed had a shape on it like an employee spent time in there on their break. Maybe took a nap. The shower and fixtures are modern and nice. Love the bathroom wallpaper for a hotel. Big TV. I didn't use it. Got in late. At 5:45am, some nearby room to me put on their TV at top volume. I heard all the news about Voladymir and Vladimir Putin. About the recent shooting by a trans person of 3 people including those 3 kids - 2 age 9, and one almost 9. Very sad. I finally called the front desk to tell them at 6:05am. She hemmed and ummm on the phone. And then it went silent. I said, "can someone walk the halls, find the room and ask them to turn it down?" She said, "that's what I am doing right now." If I had known that, I could have hung up and tried to go back to sleep. Sigh. We hung up and she did take care of it. Breakfast was great! I got waffles! They have egg white frittatas! They also had peanut butter! The lady cleaning up after breakfast for everyone sure is amazing and efficient! There was only 1 sausage left though. I took it. I waited a while and she was busy cleaning and didn't refill the sausages. Slept again until 10:45am. I use the term "slept" lightly. Because I could hear everything. A dog barking on the floor above us. Doors opening and closing. Why don't I consistently remember to bring my earplugs?? Ugh. Oh, and I couldn't turn a fan on full time to drown out the sound, either. Ugh. No maid came and knocked on my door to see if I was leaving either. Hurray!! The staff is great. All of the staff. The gal who checked me in. The housekeeping staff in the hall. The walls are thin and need sound proofing OMG. The art on the walls are cool too. read more

Overall bad experience. There was no one at the desk upon arrival or when we had questions; not very friendly staff in the evening or in the morning-- seemed very uncaring, Other Hampton Inns acknowledge Hilton honors program but not this one. I was lied to in booking and was told I was talking with the actual hotel and it was a third party experience therefore I was overcharged a horrendous amount, and even given the wrong exit number. The hotel is aware this happens, and the fact it allows it to happen speaks volumes of this company. From now on I will make sure that this doesn't happen again though. We will never stay there again. read more

So loud! I should have turned around when I saw the tailgate party in the parking lot. But, alas, I had made my reservations online and was tired from a day of driving. I could hear teenagers in the hallway until midnight. The worst, though, was the highway noise! Oh my word! I may as well been sleeping in the freeway! There is absolutely no noise insulation! The fan/air conditioning couldn't even cover it up. Speaking of the fan, it had been left on. When I got to my room everything was pretty much soaked from the humidity (near 100 degrees outside and high humidity). I didn't like that. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was clean. No issues there. I just can't get over the road noise. read more

Hotel was convenient, right off highway. Price reflected a bit older, worn property but clean. Larger property to walk larger breed dog. Breakfast was fully stocked. Only suggestion would be not having people gathering to drink beer and charcoal bbq'ing right at front entrance door. read more

Fantastic and polite staff. My room was clean and well cared for. My only complaint would be the mattress cover was a bit dirty as in it was time for a replacement. The breakfast staff were nice and personable people. They went a mile to provide what ever you needed. I would recommend staying at this Hampton. read more

I normally don't do this, and I generally exclusively stay at Hilton Hotels, but I am very upset with this hotel. Simply put, some member of the staff stole my expensive earbuds out of my room while I was away conducting business. I left them in the room by accident and intended not to go back this trip, but as soon as I left the parking lot, I realized I did not have them. I checked every pocket of every bag and every inch of the vehicle. So I went back to the room. Housekeeping had clearly arrived but was not in the room, so I searched the room for the earbuds. They were not there. Management had the staff search the room: nope. Management had both housekeepers tell me to my face that they did not have them, as if that meant anything. They had only been in the vehicle and in the room, meaning there is no chance they could be anywhere else without someone taking them there, and that someone sure as heck wasn't me. I've now checked everything twice more, and as they are clearly not here, there is only one possibility. I may stay at another Hilton Hotel, but never will I stay here again. read more

Average Hamton Inn. Disappointed they refused to honor Hilton Points because I booked thru a third party. Elevator problems but they managed to repair in a short time. Outdoor pool was comfortable as was the (small) fitness center. Housekeeping was friendly and took care of the essentials. Conveniently located off I81 near Bristol. read more

It is 1.5.19 as I write this review and this motel, not hotel, is awful! I rushed from the high dollar Fairfield Inn next (looking for a cheaper rate) and decided to stay at this dump and I'm angry that I did not read the reviews first. Per the previous posts, the room reeks of smoke, the furniture is old, discolored ceiling paint, there is no on/off switch for floor lamp so I'm forced to pulled plug from the outlet...list goes on & on, & on. It doesn't pay to be cheap and I will never, ever stay at this motel again! read more

Highly recommend!! Very clean, sanitized and modern! Clever room design all the way around so kudos to the designers! Closet space is hidden behind sliding drapes that a light comes on when opened. Spacious bathroom with adjustable shower head. Faucet adjustment is placed on the wall you are facing when showering... clever placement for easy adjusting. Due to COVID, breakfast is pre-boxed- 2 boiled eggs, yogurt, bagel and cream cheese... all pre-packaged for safety. Fast and friendly check in too!! read more

Freshly renovated, and very clean hotel. All staff followed CDC recommended regulations. Jacob at the front desk went above and beyond when I asked him for recommendations for dinner and things to do at night. He talked to me about things to do and wrote me a list of places, even categorized it by which part of town it was. It was a great gesture. The hospitality team members were extremely kind when we asked for a trash bag for dirty clothes. Overall the employees made our stay great. read more

This hampton is clean but very dated. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi was slow. The room seemed to have a high percentage of echo, more then most hotels. Beds are in need of new pillows. Breakfast was excellent all fresh on both days and staff was on top of it. read more

I am a Hilton diamond member and stay at over 30 Hampton inns every year. This location is sub par. The place smells like smoke, the lobby and the non smoking rooms are no exception. I arrived at 5pm to check in and was told no 1st floor rooms had been cleaned yet. I specifically made a reservation for room 102 since it's farthest from the highway traffic but instead I'm in the room closest to the highway since the room I reserved wasn't clean. It's loud next to the highway. Vikki at the front desk is sweet but it doesn't appear that management has done much to keep this place up. the front door slider was stuck and only opened about 18 inches. The side door wouldn't accept my room keys. I'll never stay here again. The Johnson city TN location is only 20 miles away. It's renovated and worth the drive. read more

Lots of noise during the night from interstate traffic. Also they have many smoking rooms so be careful when booking. On the inside the rooms are clean but overall the hotel seems a little old. Overall not quite what you usually expect out of a Hampton inn. read more

Rather than repeat things here, other reviewers pretty much covered things. This is a decent Hampton Inn but it isn't what I would call the "usual" Hampton Inn. I stayed for one night and while it was comfortable, it wasn't exceptional. I get the feeling this hotel caters to the hospital across the street rather than the typical business traveler. I stayed one night (as a respite from driving cross-country) and staff were friendly enough. I was disappointed to find Saturday morning breakfast was shutting down about 20 or so mins before "closing time." Can't speak to any noise issues because I arrived around midnight and left by 10a the next morning. All in all, not a bad stop - room was clean and well maintained - but not the best either, even by Hampton Inn standards. read more

This is a decent Hampton Inn but it isn't your typical one that is focused more on business travelers. It is kind of out on its own and didn't have a lot of restaurants around. This place could definitely use a remodel and the staff were a bit more casual than I am used to. I kept going between whether to give this place 2 or 3 stars because it is a bit rundown but I decided on 3 because they were friendly. Dated rooms but comfortable stay. The rooms could use some updates. There is no closet but a huge wardrobe cabinet - which makes for awkward placement of the mini refrigerator - right next to the bed. Water stains on the wallpaper and some cracks too - but the bed was comfortable and clean, no odd smells. Was able to hook up a Roku to the TV and watch a little bit of Netflix. Staff is friendly, breakfast was the normal fare for a Hampton. read more

Stayed here on business on a Thursday night, clean hotel, pleasant staff. But IF you are planning on SLEEPING here.... FORGET THAT notion. The Traffic Noise from the Highway is one of the worst. Then one direction most of the trucks are using their Jake Brake. I might as well just take a shower and keep driving. Will Erase this location from my hotels to stop at and so should you. Recent stay of 9/28/15 - we were very impressed with the friendly helpful, Vikki, at the check-in desk. She went above and beyond to help us with our travel needs. We had a comfortable bed and clean room. The breakfast was much better than the previous night's stay in Altoona, Pa. The Altoona Hampton sent us a survey, but our other Hampton stays have not. We had some very good experiences with staff and really wanted to compliment them. read more

I have stayed in lots of Hampton inns, 5 on this trip. I don't usually yelp hotels but this one needs it. Be warned, newly remodeled does not go far and this one especially suffers being next to 81. Between the extra loud, but " new" AC, and the truckers, it was not my best night this week. Other than that, typical Hampton. Reasonably clean, decent staff, decent breakfast. We had to travel to Bristol TN on an emergency basis. My mom was going into surgery and didn't have time to look up places to stay we just through everything in the car and went. The first place we stayed at was horrible. I got myself and two kids out first thing the next morning and after visiting with my mom at Bristol Reginal Hospital we went across the street to the Hampton Inn. I was greeted right away by the lovely lady at the front desk given a cold bottle of water and she listened to my crazy story of the last 24hours. She got me and my kids in a room right away. Stepping into that room after our last 24hrs was such a welcomed relief. Two queen size beds that were super comfortable, sparkling clean bathroom, WiFi connection was great (which anyone who has kids knows this is a must) the breakfast in the morning had a great selection of hot and cold foods. We'd leave right after breakfast and come back a little before dinner and the kids really enjoyed going to the pool in the evenings. We stayed about 5 days and I just have to say Tracy, Stacy, and Carol are absolute angels they made sure we had everything we needed. As a mom traveling alone miles away with two kiddos that made all the difference. We felt at home even under the circumstances. We will be staying with you guys whenever we are in Bristol. I've stayed at many a Hampton Inn and have never really been disappointed. This one is towards the bottom of my list but not the worst. The hotel itself is clean but old looking. Our room was very nice and spacious (king suite). Fitness room was anything but. A closet with an exercise bike and tread mill. Pool is outdoors and closed when we visited in late April. Breakfast was average. Nothing special. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. This hotel would probably be much nicer after a much needed facelift and refresh. read more

We had 2 rooms on our way to Chattanooga and booked two rooms for the return. The first stay we left two bathing suits hanging on the hook in the bathroom. I called that day we checked out and explained we'd be back, was told they would have them ready. When we got back no bathing suits, no one was very helpful and while it's not a huge deal it was upsetting that someone took our things. The wifi is also very slow. read more

Front desk staff was unfriendly to the point of being rude. At booking we were not told the room is facing interstate 81 and we heard trucks and traffic all night. The shower was dirty with used body wash still left from previous guest. There was no fridge in the room. The breakfast and drink selection left much to be desired. Totally not worth $122 price tag. The stay was fine and I didn't have the issues with noise, and the internet and service were good. I would have given it a 4 in normal circumstances. The reason for the 5 is the follow-up after the stay. I left my wallet in the hotel room and not only did the maid notify the front desk, the front desk immediately called and was extremely helpful in figuring out how to return the wallet. I received the wallet with money and credit cards intact by Fedex the next day. read more
