Called the front desk multiple times the day before to ask a question and they just didn't answer. Furniture, carpet, and bedding was very outdated. Everything could improve. I stay at Hampton Inns at least twice a month for business. I stayed at this location for three days for the long weekend but I probably should've gone down the road to the Best Western. Upon arrival, there is only ONE handicap parking spot in the front. ONE! How is this acceptable. There were a few more but they're at the rear of the building and it doesn't help anyone that NEEDS handicap parking!!!!! I was rudely asked if I needed help by male receptionist. I checked in online via the Hilton App and got assigned room 410. After lugging my things upstairs, my electronic key didn't work because the room was occupied!!!! I was then reassigned to room 406. The room had smears of lotion or sticky matter on the nightstand. The tub took a very long time to drain after a quick shower. It felt gross because while showering you're standing in stagnant dirty water. The radiator in the room made a whistling noise 24/7 when it was not loudly blowing air out causing lack of sleep. The room door was poorly put together so the hallway light was shining in at night. After an awful night I was woken up to loud banging next door. The front desk told me there's leaks upstairs. Breakfast is awful because no one wants to work and the staff is RUDE! I watched a patron going to the back kitchen room to politely ask for syrup for the waffle station and the staff member sucked her teeth and slowly came out to put more syrup in the bin. They also ran out of forks and she snapped when I asked if there were anymore forks. We were all eating our waffles with spoons and hoping for the best. I requested washcloths and housekeeping came to tell me there were no more. What do you mean?! The parking lot was not cleaned or salted properly. The ONE handicap parking spot was pure ice. How does a wheelchair get through this or someone with an unsteady gait using a walking device? I'm sure the ADA would love to check out this establishment. This was really more of a 3.5 star review, but they definitely earned the extra half star due to their staff! Great group of team members! This is a pretty standard Hampton Inn, nothing really to speak of necessarily, but... it is not without some flaws. For one thing, the entire facility is in dire need of an update. Lighting in the guest room itself was very dark, and one of the switches literally did nothing. The furniture was okay, but clearly a bit worn. The TV was fairly new, though, so props there. The hotel is located behind some main roads, so it has a kind of "distant" vibe to it. If you don't have a car, it's pretty much on an island with nothing around it (so to speak). There are some accommodations (restaurants, mall, etc.) within a mile of the place, but again, without a car, it's not really walking distance. Certainly not safely! Still, that being said, it was a decent stay for what we needed it for. You're not too far from the train station (Quincy Center) that can take you to downtown Boston and the surrounding area. They even have a free shuttle that can take you to said station and to local places! I don't think they go to Logan, however, but their train system does (same with rideshare, of course). For the price, I mean... at least you're saving a lot over downtown prices, which is nice. Far less expensive than staying in Boston proper! But, factor in the time spent traveling via rental car, rideshare, or train and it's up to you. For what we needed, it was perfectly suited. The staff here really made the difference, though. Lauren (sp?) in particular was a huge help to us! She made a complicated reservation very easy thanks to her assistance. Even the corporate site couldn't claim that! The free breakfast was also a very nice touch, with some good options pretty much every day. Overall, it's a Hampton Inn, hard to say more beyond that. But, it was a good location and price for our long weekend in Boston. I'd stay here again! read more

After travelling for two decades, both domestically and internationally, I truly believe that when it comes to lodging, you get what you paid for. The Hamption Inn Boston/Braintree was the best price for the area I was looking for, and so I really didn't set my expections too high. Free parking, in unit refrigerator and microwave, air conditioning with a thermometer, and free wifi are all things that I consider perks at a budget hotel like this. For my latest stay, I didn't have the time or need to check out any of the other amenities (again, perks) like the business center, fitness center, pool/spa, etc. The hotel lobby was very clean; the room was clean enough and not cramped at all. I've definitely seen a lot worse for more money. The location was very convenient for what I needed, and I didn't have to worry about parking at all. I was able to bring back food leftovers from when I was out, keep it in the fridge, and even heat it up to eat later on. The wifi speed was fast enough for me to stream services on my tablet. I don't think there was much else I needed in my stay. The only issue I had was that I did try to get in on the continental breakfast, but about 40 minutes before the end time, they were already out of most things with no indication that they were going to refill anything. There was not really any staff in sigh to ask either. But for the price they charged, I can't even be too mad at this. I ended up grabbing some juice and a small muffin. The check in and check out process was very simple and hassle free. Overall, good value and convenient. I'd stay again. read more

It was very...ok. No frills, good basic stay. Here are some issues they could address: Whoever is at the reception area for checking in could be a little more welcoming. I think it annoyed him that I came in and disturbed his cell phone time. Sorry guy. Everything is old, dated and very worn out. From the furniture to the bathrooms to the pool to the elevators to the beds. Not enough towels in the bathroom. Tub faucet leaked and was hard to turn. Beds were not as fluffy or comfy as in other Hampton Inns. Not the worst, but in the bottom 10%. The pool area was terrible and disgusting. There was paint chipping off the pool edges and scattered throughout the pool area. The amount of chlorine in the water so strong that it bleached out and ruined my bathing suit. So much chemical, the water had a thick soupy texture. There was a used bandaid floating in the hot tub. Breakfast was ok. My wife liked the oatmeal. The eggs were the basic unflavored powdered scrambled eggs. The bacon was good, but interesting. We agreed, it was the thinnest slices of bacon we had ever seen! Like it was shaved into whisper-thin angel wings. Quite a feat. Good job, Hampton! One other thing Mr. Hampton. Your Hampton Honors system is a pathetic joke and a disguised method for sending people all sorts of junk emails. I've used this Honors point thing for 20 years and never got a free glass of water out of it. It is one of your oldest scams and has just become part of the Hampton Inn culture. read more

My first time in Boston, so it was difficult to know where to stay. My girlfriend who use to live in Boston, suggested this place. I was really impressed with the hotel. It did it's job. The Tattered Inn of Braintree. I have stayed in Hiltons - mostly Hampton Inns and Hilton Garden Inns - at least 100 times in the past three years, in many towns across the country. This one is the absolute worst. We found it dirty and inhospitable. The front desk clerk copped an attitude with me when I reported a broken bathroom sink which was half full of dirty water when we arrived late at night. I figured it was just a slow drain; it wasn't, it was a clogged drain. The shower was dirty. I noticed frayed electrical cords which are probably a code violation. Before we left in the morning, the housekeeping staff was having a loud altercation amongst themselves outside of our room. Carpeting is dirty and frayed. Furniture tattered. Lamp shades cracked. Drapes off their tracks. The worst part: I emailed the management of the hotel expecting them to get back to me so we could discuss our experience especially since we are Hilton Honors members; not a peep back from them. Save your money and stay at the wonderful and cheaper Hilton Garden Inn in Marlborough, MA which we found by chance after we decided not to stay another night at the Braintree Hampton Inn. read more

First of all, I did not stay here. I ultimately canceled my reservations. Less than a week before my arrival, my own I found out the pool would be closed for maintenance. Pools are a perk for me and I chose this hotel for the location and the pool. I called to see if I could cancel my "non-refundable/prepaid" reservation because of the pool, and I was told yes. Great! But I asked them not to cancel it just yet because I wanted to make sure I found other lodgings since I would now be looking for a "last minute" hotel (and there would be no guarantee that I could find anything). With other lodgings looking bleak I called back asking for a discount on the room, and was told I'd have to call back on Monday to speak with management. Personally, I believe management should have given the authority for staff to give a discount to those asking. After finding alternative lodging with a pool and cheaper rate, I called to officially cancel my reservation. The lady was rude and said multiple times that it could not be cancelled, and I told her I was told by two people earlier that I could cancel it. After going around a few times, she cancelled it. I asked to wait on the phone until I saw the cancelation email arrive, and I was put on hold because she didn't want to wait. Sharing my experience so others can be aware. Thankfully, my credit card expired between my reservation and today, so I was not charged for the hotel. I was not contacted by Hilton or this hotel to update my credit card. read more

I had a lovely stay. Granted, I was only in the room to change and sleep but everything was very clean and cozy. I also loved that the temp control was digital and easy to figure out. This is ridiculous and not important at all, but mirrors were really great for selfies! Huge shout out to Linda who was super friendly and helpful. I was exhausted when I arrived but the check-in process took mere seconds. The printers were being glitchy and I was in a huge rush to get to an event. Once again, Linda took care of the issue for me in seconds and had a sense of humor about it too. I got back pretty late and was starving. The gentleman at the desk saved me from going on a wild goose chase trying to find an open restaurant - Uber Eats services the area (thank goodness). Lastly, I didn't eat much at breakfast but the potatoes were literally amazing & the coffee was really good, too! And yes....I could smell the cookies in the lobby at 6:30pm. Nice touch! read more

I would say that this is your standard Hampton Inn. For those of you who aren't familiar, the Hampton Inn generally has free breakfast in the morning, free WiFi for members, but no bars/restaurants/dining. A fairly standard room, generally with a mini-fridge, and clean. This one is no exception. Check-in was very friendly, and it was a nice stay. Just an FYI that if you come into the area late, there isn't anywhere to walk to, but there is a big mall around the corner with some large chain restaurant to grab a bit to eat. read more

I stayed here because my air conditioner in my apartment in Quincy was broken on a 90+ degree weekend.... I took the glowing recommendations of Yelpers to stay here, and boy was I disappointed! To start with, the afternoon front desk person "Margaret" was incredibly rude. She barely made eye contact and had an attitude for no reason. When I got to my room, it was dark, dingy, and smelled of mold/mildew. I called the front desk to ask for a room change because I have severe allergies. Margaret said that she would "see what she could do, but all the rooms are going to smell because of moisture..." Umm, OK. A little while later, she gives me a key to a new room. This time, the room smells like a wet dog. And the AC barely works. But I was too tired to keep switching rooms so I dealt with it. As the night wore on, I noticed that I could hear people talking, kids screaming, TV's in rooms across the hall. There is apparently NO soundproofing between the door and hallways. I ended up using couch cushions and towels to try to dampen the sound. Overall, this was a terrible hotel. Dark, dirty, smelly, and noisy. And the staff is rude. The only redeeming quality is that it's close to South Shore Plaza. Not worth the $125 price tag. I left after only one night. read more

Stayed here once for an overnight and enjoyed my stay enough to bring the family to visit Boston. Thought the rooms were clean and decent sized. Enjoyed the breakfast options and layout. What made it better than average was the pool was a decent size that my kids could actually swim and enjoy it. The area itself is a bit industrial and full of chain restaurants, but there's a nice brewery (Widowmaker) across the street with decent beer, lots of space to sit, and parking. Our room was about what you'd expect, but a bit dated. I know they have been doing renovations, so I hope updating the guest rooms is on their list. However, there's free wifi for members, everything was reasonably clean, and breakfast was fine, but not quite as nice as other Hampton Inns. Parking was free and easy. This is nothing fancy, but Hampton Inns generally aren't. If you're looking for a clean place to sleep, a place near Boston where you can park for free, and some minimal free breakfast in the morning, this is your place. read more

We stayed here during the big blizzard yesterday. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. 24" of snow. There was a front end loader going non stop throughout the day. The guy did an amazing job clearing the lot which isn't an easy task. All staff we encountered were excellent. Breakfast was great. Coffee all day. And it's good! Fresh baked cookies. Beautiful pool. This is the first pet friendly hotel I've stayed in that didn't smell like pets. Super clean rooms and very quiet. Barely any noise from the rooms on either side of us. Last room available and it was clean, on the first floor, parking was easy, convenient dog relief area and warm coffee in the morning. What made my visit top knotch was Margaret at the front desk. Never staying here again. For starters I arrived at 4pm Left around 5pm to attend a meeting, as i was leaving i made front desk clerk aware that AC was not working. She mentioned thermostat on the wall would fix that. Guess what? i've looked for the thermostat for the last 30 mins and cannot find it anywhere. The Room is hotter than a July summer in florida. I Tried calling downstairs to let them know, but guess what? the phone is broken. I couldn't take the heat anymore so i went downstairs and luckily i had a fan in my car...At this point is 11:55pm... This location is in a very odd industrial area, and it is also currently under renovation. So, in fairness to them since they are under renovation hopefully will be better at the end. When we were there the pool was closed, and the front entrance was also closed so it made it very weird. When we first walked into the building, and approach the front desk the front desk clerk was telling someone on the phone that yes they are near Hooters, but it is like 45 minutes away. We have no idea why they would be asking the front desk about Hooters, and secondarily I'm not quite clear why 45 minutes is nearby. The short story about our initial impression kind of gives you an idea of the clientele, and the area for this particular hotel. The rooms were clean, and at least the floor that I was on was in need of updating, but as I said they were in the renovation. The breakfast offering was pretty typical for a Hampton Inn, but they could've done a little bit better job with the fresh fruit. read more

I enjoyed a two night accommodation at this hotel. One of the most important things for me is a clean room, a comfy bed and a good coffee maker in the room and that we had along with a mini fridge if we had needed it. I enjoyed their complimentary breakfast. The coffee was excellent along with fresh fruit, bagels, waffles, muffin, danishes, yogurts, cereal, oatmeal with almond and raisin toppings. They also had egg scramble, bacon and potatoes. Along with the coffee there was a selection of teas. I liked that they had four entrances to the hotel which provided for easy loading and unloading of suitcases. While I did not use the full facility I could see they had an indoor pool and a workout room. One of the draw backs was the apparent thin walls. We could here the guy Accross the hall coughing all morning. Poor guy! I would definitely consider staying here again. read more

I would give this place a -5 stars if I could. Their staff is terrible. When my boyfriend and I asked one of the housekeepers if they could change our sheets, she told us that she had already checked them before we got there but she'd take care of it. We had left afterwards for a few hours and when we came back, the same sheets were still on. My boyfriend checked the bed and found a bedbug. He went downstairs to let the front desk know and they switched him to a total of 4 rooms and they all had bedbugs!!! We decided that we wanted to cancel our stay and find somewhere else to go. We decided on Best Western, which was right down the street. Surprisingly the women at the front desk begged us not to tell Best Western why we left. We found out from the man at the front desk of Best Western that the Hampton owes them about 2 months worth of stays from people who have left the Hampton to go to Best Western. My boyfriend was told that he would get refunded from the Hampton, but when he asked how long it would take, the woman at the front desk expressed that she did not care about the situation and didn't provide much assistance. We told her that there were bedbugs in each bed and she proceeded to tell us that they were ladybugs. He got his refund, thankfully. If you're staying in the Boston/Braintree area, we recommend the Best Western. They are much more cleaner & their hospitality is great. read more

Really enjoyed our stay at Hampton! There's a continental breakfast until 10 which consists of scrambled eggs (w/ cheese if you'd like to sprinkle some on!), oatmeal, a waffle station, English muffins, cereals, juices and an array of muffins. On some days there were home fried potatoes and hard boiled eggs. There's usually a meat like sausage patty or bacon to accompany your meal. The hotel is pet friendly and they don't charge you an arm and a leg to accommodate your pup like others in the area. This is a huge plus. Staff was friendly, especially Margaret who was a pleasure to deal with! Margaret, Elsie (my little black dog) and I tried to say goodbye the evening before we left, but you weren't working that day! All in all it's not a luxury hotel, but it's clean, parking isn't extra per night, it's quiet and a short ride to malls and downtown Boston where the tourist areas are. This Hampton is in an industrial area, but you can easily find a place to walk your pup on the premises. If we visit the area again we'll definitely stay here again. read more

I've stayed at plenty of Hampton Inns around the country and this was one of the worst if not the worst that I've visited. The inside halls and walls are showing signs of extreme wear: one door I passed has its room number sign torn off with a big tear in the wallpaper. The 4th floor hall smells like cigarette smoke blown though dirty diapers. Vending machines out of order. My room seemed pretty clean and I slept fine, but the thermostat was busted, it only clicked on the heat or a/c if I set it several degrees above or below the actual temperature. The heat/air wall unit plastic base was coming off so it might just be broken. OK hotel in a pinch but I won't stay here again. read more

It is your Typical Hampton Inn. If you travel for work and Hampton is the usual, you'll be just fine! I've had no complaints about this place. I stay here anywhere from 1-4 nights a month for over a year now and it's clean, the neighborhood is quiet, staff is friendly (especially lady named Brenda) and breakfast is never the same two days in a row. This hotel offers complimentary shuttle service that'll take you to and from the Metro/Subway/T-Station at Quincy Center and it's about a 30 min ride into Boston's South Station from there. (It's not convenient but they try.) As for restaurants there's a mall nearby (1 mile) with a few franchise restaurants, sports bars, and a food court not much variety in the area. read more

I stayed at this hotel for a college tour. It was 15 minutes away from Eastern Nazarene College. I was able to get early check in and late check out with no problems or extra charges.The staff was friendly and helpful. Our flight left at 9pm so they kept our bags for us while we explored Boston and let us utilize the lobby and hotel amenities. They even sent us a complimentary cab to the mall because the shuttle was not there. My only complaint is the breakfast. I was disappointed in the breakfast because I'm used to Hilton brands having a variety of (hot)breakfast choices. I couldn't believe they didn't have and type of meat for breakfast one morning but it was still ok....They definitely need a bigger sign because it was easy to miss and they should offer day rates. Nearby attractions: High end wine, beer and spirits located across the street at 'BinsEnd" HUGE mall ten minutes away AMC theater with recliners five minutes away TONS of restaurants to choose from They do offer a trolly service to the train station that will connect you anywhere. NOTE!!!!!: Stay in rooms on the North side of the building (those are the king bedrooms). There is a textile mill next door that will keep you up all night (who sleeps in queens or twins anyways?). read more

Housekeeping does a shoddy job, my room wasn't cleaned until 2:45pm one day, didn't even throw away the trash. Breakfast was awful, no hot selections, not even hard-boiled eggs, not properly stocked. I tried to voice my concerns but the manager left early for the day- literally at 2pm and there were no mangers or supervisors on site. The front desk person was dismissive, made excuse after excuse, never apologized or validated any concerns. She was truly annoyed by my presence at the front desk. Worst sales speech A couple of months ago I visited a few hotels for my upcoming family reunion. Hampton Inn sales' rep made a great impression, even gave me her cell number in case I can't reach her via her business number. After a few meetings, I decided that this was the perfect place for my reunion. So I called the rep at her business info...no answer.... so I called her on the cell number she provided....just to be greeted by a harsh hello and who are you? After reminding her of how we met, she offered a weak apology blaming telemarketers. She should do what I do, send it to Voice Mail, if there is a message then I respond....at least that give me time to collect myself to answer accordingly.  To make matters worst, she told me she would call me back later because she was on sales calls, and never did. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I called before Christmas and made up excuses for her about the holidays, busy, I understood etc... so I called back 2 days later, at her business number and left her a message and still today n call back. If the sales manager is treating me this way before I bring my business there, that's a great indication that my family will not be treated kindly. Taking my business elsewhere!!!
