Darken shade does not fit window. Street light in my face all night.

The Hampton Inn in question is off of I-85, exit 19B, in Anderson, SC, near Clemson Hwy. Party of 2 checked in on 10-20-23 and checked out 10-22-23. Room 218. First, our Samsung Smart TV had no guide furnished, so tried to call the desk, and phone cable was broken and that had to be totally replaced. The refrigerator: Was set into a cabinet and the door would not close. It was a misfit hanging out into isle where you can stump your toe or hit your leg. So my husband had to move the refrigerator to another location so the door would shut. The darkening blinds don't fit the window on the sides. So, I slept with a street light in my face all night. I could not turn over to block that because I'd had a shot for bursitis in my hip. Alarm clock: it kept ringing at 6:00 AM, and there were no instructions on how to reset it. My husband is Professional Engineer so it's bad when he can't shut down the clock. Bathroom: Beautiful shower but with black mold under the built in corner tray. Shower handle ready to fall off. One drawer completely missing, with its inner runners exposed.

Not a Hampton like I ever stayed in before. Our room (200) stunk so bad the 4 yr old wouldn't stay in there. The dust was so thick my throat became raw, I began having trouble breathing, I told them I didn't feel I could stay there due to my severe allergy to dust mites. The mgr that evening told me "You are not getting your money back, this room was professionally cleaned 2 months ago and if it wasn't up to my standard then there was nothing she could do about that. She was one of the rudest nastiest people I had dealt with in a long time. I asked to be switched to another room and she said all we have is room 205 and it smells like marijuana and the carpets need to be recleaned. I have stayed at Hamptons for years but nothing ever close to this, it was pure filth other than the workout room, it was nice.

Coffee packet that was not removed after a previous guest.

I stayed in a standard king room, and was so much space, felt like a 2 room suite. I was so impressed by how many lighting options there are in the room, large work desk on wheels, sink, apartment size fridge, comfy sofa. Really well designed and comfortable bed. My only reason for the 2 star review is their pet policy. FYI to anyone, they allow pets in ANY room and no limit on pets. Felt like there were dogs everywhere. Constantly getting barked at, sharing an elevator, barking outside. Not peaceful at all. No joke, i found dog feces in the hallway twice. Unfortunately, its not the hotel, its the ignorant people that ruined my stay. People feeding their dogs from their table during breakfast! This hotel needs a pet policy or it will only be a people with dogs in the future and lose all other customers. I asked the front desk and they said they do not limit the number or the rooms people can have pets in. At the very least limit people traveling with animals to the first floor.

The atmosphere was peaceful, quiet, and incredibly relaxing. One of our favorite parts of the stay was spending the morning on the upstairs balcony, reading our books and enjoying the calm surroundings.
